Hi, I hope you can help me: I have two tables. “Customers” and “Products”. The “Products” table shows all items that belong to a specific product: Multiple items are assigned to one product via the “Product” field (single selection). By then grouping by the “Product” field, I get a catalog that shows me which items belong to which product. (Ex: Product 1, items 1-5, 7 and 9-10; Product 2, items 1-5 and 7-12). Now we have a new customer. Again, in the table “Customers”, I want to show which items the customer gets. The easiest way would be if I can say via a link:Customer XY has product 1 and then Airtable automatically shows me the corresponding items in a single field (here in the example items 1-5, 7 and 9-10). So far I have only managed to link each record individually, but then I don’t need the summary for the product. Basically I am looking for a way to link groupings. I hope I was able to make my problem understandable🙈 Does anyone have any ide

Can we bulk edit column types? Change the width of multiple columns, at once? (community says no, but :crossed_fingers: double checking :crossed_fingers: )

I’m on Chrome (latest) on Windows 10 (up to date). I cannot find a key combination that will move the cursor out of a Long Text field. The usual suspects including Esc, “Tab” in various combinations with Alt, Shift and Ctrl don’t do it I hate having to take my hands off the keyboard to use the mouse just to move to the next cell.

I have Table 1 with thousands of records. In Table 2, I want to summarize the data by linking the records and then using lookup fields to get specific info from each record all in a single cell. I’ve linked Table 1 to a field in Table 2, but to get all the records, I’d need to manually select each of the thousands of records to add them to the linked cell. Is there an easier way to do this? I made a dummy database and screen recording to illustrate what I’m trying to do, but instead of 4 records per “company,” imagine thousands. Thanks for any help.

hello! did anyone experience this? I was working for my client. Showed me an excel spreadsheet that needs to be transferred to a table to a particular base. What I did was I created a new table in order to import the spreadsheet instead and configure relevant fields. I then inspected if all the data showing are correct. Everything looked fine. I also added linked records and looks good too. I then messaged him to check but said a few minutes later that he could not access. When I checked all the other tables are fine except the one I created. It looked just white screen. My client already tried refrehsing the site, closed and opened the browser too and it’s still the same.

When I first set up my base, I established one field, mistakenly, as single line text instead of a number. I recognized it with 100+ records in, and have lived with it ever since. Now I want to change the field type for this field from single line text to number, without losing the entries. I could probably sort the records by that field and add a new field as I want it, then add in all the new field entries, and last delete the old ones. Is there a faster or base-wide way to accomplish this? Many thanks.

Hi there My use case is that we’re an agency and each month we deliver items from a service catalogue to deliver services for our clients. Our service catalogue is in Airtable (see below) I now want to use AT to forecast the items we are going to provide each month so I can see the number of points (think ‘hours’) we are going to deliver both at a customer & global level. I have set up a simple table to do this (see below) This step is easy, however, the next level of detail I’m trying to crack is something I’m not sure how to architect in AT. Hi there, I have a table that contains project records for all my projects planned for the year. Each project contains multiple tasks that have a start and end date. Is it possible to represent and distinguish all of these on a Gantt View without separating each task into its own record? In an ideal world, I’d color sections of the Gantt bar to denote what Task stage it’s in. Cheers, Peter

The view is shown as “Shared”. Every time I try to add a filter, I get warned that synced tables/bases will be affected. I want to find all the synced tables so I can change them to a different view that is specifically built for sharing. How do I find all the places a shared view is use? (If I rename the view, it gets reflected in all the other bases that sync it, but how do I find them all?)

Hi guys, I’m looking for a way to extract the changes from a specific column (string). I have a base with client names and each client has its account manager (each account manager can handle more than one client). We work in a dynamic environment, and the account managers’ responsibility changes frequently. Given the above background, I want to create new automation using Zapier/Integromat to inform the previous account manager via email that he doesn’t own this account anymore. The problem: I can create a last modified field and use it to trigger Zapier/Integromat, but how can I extract the old value from this cell? Example: Current A.M name: Dan I’ve added a new A.M named Stan Now the trigger has been activated, but the cell value is Stan How can I get the previous cell value in order to send the previous A.M an email? Good day all. Let me first start with our existing workflow. We currently are using QuestionPro but are switching back to our Google Suite Enterprise for surveys, and generating the data to a linked google sheets. My question is how I can have this integrated, if at first what we already have running OR if there’s a more efficient way to do this ALL in Airtable without being a painful transition and/or losing data. Still seeing all the cool benefits of using AT!

I would like to create a Form in another application which shows all of the possible options in a Multi-Select field. To do so, I need to pass to that application an array containing all of the unique values in the multi-select field. The ArrayUnique function works for a rollup on a per-record basis, but I need to summarize the field values in an entire colum. How can I do this?

I am trying to set up IFTTT to automatically record my Tweets but the Airtable connection seems broken. The instructions say that once the Base is connected, you can choose the Table from the dropdown. But that’s not what I get when I’m going through the process. The Base is shown but the Table field doesn’t give me a dropdown of my existing tables. Instead, it just says “Add Ingredient” which are the ingredients from the Tweet, not anything from Airtable. Does anyone know how to fix this? Or if I’m just not understanding it? It does not currently match the Airtable instructions on how to create this connection. Any help much appreciated. Cheers! Does anyone know an integration that will pull a Word Count from a linked Google Doc? For background, we create a record for each post in an editorial calendar. We have a field linking the Google Doc where the document lives and we’d like to add a field that shows the Word Count from the Google Doc. I’d love a way to pull that automatically rather than having to enter it by hand. Thoughts?

Hello, I’m wondering if there’s a way to highlight multiple cells in a table to get the sum quickly. In excel, I would hold “CTRL” and select the cells I need. It seems that I’m not able to do that in Airtable. I know you can highlight cells that are adjacent to each other, but the cells I need are not next to each other in this case. Thanks for any help!

To start this is mostly a feasibility question. I have an AirTable base that will include potential customer information for the purpose of putting together a sales agreement. The potential client database will be linked to a base that has 10-15 service types. These include name of the service, description, price etc. This is one (client base) to many (service base). We usually provide a sales proposal that will include multiple services. Thus, when we add the client, we would choose a number of services. Please see the scrrenshot below So, what we’ve like to do is create a document that will include the client information at the top, but include as the main body, the name, description, price and quantity of the item of each service we are pitching, one after the other. Hi all, As I understand (but I might wrong), a checkbox returns 1 or null. Shouldn’t it be returning 1 or 0 (“True” / “False” or “checked” / “unchecked”) to be more useful ? It would then be usable in pivot-tables or other kind of summaries. Thanks for your help ?

But right now all the values are stored in one row instead of seperates. So, what I try to do is to get clients every week into an accountability sheet so I can follow up. Hey guys! I’m trying to build a 2-stage application form on my website. The first form simply collects their name/email. The second stage form asks 10 detailed questions. I tried using Airtable’s native “upon submission, redirect to URL” feature with the first form embedded on my website, but it unfortunately tries to open a pop-up rather than redirecting to the second form embedded. I’d like to keep users on my website, rather than taking them directly to airtable.com tl;dr how can I make it such that once the first form is submitted, users are guided to the second form still on my website?

I am trying to fill a filtered column with the same text value, but the table is filtered on the same column as ‘empty’. When I add the text to the first row/cell, the row then disappears because the cell is no longer empty. Then I have no way of automatically filling the remainder of the column with the same text value.

Hello everyone The new “Create junction table” app published by Airtable works like a charm, but there’s one downside: it creates all possible combinations of linked records from two tables, and doesn’t let you selectively create records based on views. To briefly explain the challenge, here is a use case: We have new students joining the organisation every few months. (Table = Students) We have multiple syllabuses in our organisation, with the assignments all configured in Airtable (Table = Assignments) We have a junction able of “Students x Assignments” that we populate for each new student group. When we get new group of, for example, mathematics students, we want to create new records in our junction table for “Recent joiners” , a view in the Students table and for “Maths Syllabus”, a view in the Assignments table. I’ve been stuck against that wall reading many topics where I wanted to add valuable information, or ask for more precision.
