I am trying creating documents to publish online. I need students to complete fields in the documents. I wan to know if there is a simple way or a tool that can allow me to pull data from any of the following: Google Docs Microsoft Word Google Sheets Also, if you were looking to publish documents online, which is better Google Docs/MS Word. I know MS Word wins hands down for advanced document editing features. But I want to know in relation to online publishing and connecting with other apps and websites. Thank you.

Let’s say I have two fields sitting next to each other in a table. One is called Calculated and one is called Static. The Calculated field is, of course, a formula type field and the Static field is a currency type field. I want to automatically save the result of the Calculated field as a static number in the Static field. For example; if the Calculated field is a formula consisting of =10+5, then I want the static number 15 to appear in the Static field. I don’t want to formula itself in the Static field…just the result (15) of the formula from the Calculated field. Does anyone know how I can accomplish this in Airtable? Much appreciated.

Hi there, I have a “Ref” formula that is pulling the date from another field. Most of the time, when it’s an “AM” time, the date comes through incorrect. I’m guessing it’s perhaps a time zone thing? I say “most” as there are a couple of mornings that ARE correct :woman_shrugging: “Ref” formula = {Name of Worker}&" - "&“Inc:”&DATETIME_FORMAT({Incident Date & Time}, ‘DD-MM-YYYY’) In case it makes a difference, this data is pulling through via Zapier. I’m having trouble prefill-ing a “checkbox” field. I’ve followed the guide on the support forum (I’m not allowed to link it here for some reason) and everything works, except for my checkbox field. I’ve tried “1” “true” “checked” (which is stored in the table/grid view tied to this form). None of these work. What is the proper value to pass in URL parameter to have this field “checked” on load?

Hi all! I’m trying to add the functionality to my airtable wherein a viewer/editor can add a note to an existing entry without having to type over the entry. Ideally, this would function like a digital sticky note, so I can view the comment, but it doesn’t impact the structure of the airtable itself. Does anyone know if that’s possible? I have a database I am creating where users can add entries with the form provided. However, is it possible to have it where a user can also edit the data? Like a wiki page? I have used sync before to sync two tables, and it is a great feature. What I want to do now, however, is to copy a table from one base to another, including all of the views of that table and all of the lookups and linked (etc) columns that I have painstakingly built. It seems that I can share a view and copy the data over, no problem - a new table is created on the target base with the data. However, it looks like I can only share one view - I don’t see a way to share all the views of a table at once, and if I try to share one view at a time, each share creates a new table instead of adding the view to the previously created one. It also seems that only the data is moved over, but not the customized field type - so if the content in the column is (in the source) drawn from another table (and that table already exists in the target base) it doesn’t matter. Hello everyone, I am new to Airtable and hoping this will be a solution for my business. Before I get into my issue, I’ll explain a little bit about my database. I own a machine shop and am wanting to use Airtable to enter job information and print job travelers to send out to the floor. I am working with 2 databases. The main database being the “Job Tracker” which keeps track of each specific job. The other being my “Client” database. The main purpose of this is to reduce data entry and hold all the contract information for the client. My issue is with Airtable I can easily create a link to the “Client” database. This displays the “Contact Name” which is the primary key. I can click expand and bring up the entire record. Ideally, I want to be able to select the Contact and populate fields in my main “Job Tracker” database with the contact information (phone, e-mail, and company). I have zapier adding records to my Airtable but I have no idea when the record is added. Is there a way to have a date column that automatically adds a date to the record when it’s added?

I’d like to conditionally render an element depending on whether or not comments exist for a record. I’ve tried several methods but the element will not render/disappear unless I reload the app. Here is one example: {record.commentCount > 0 ? <div class="comment-indicator"></div> : ''} This isn’t the case for rendering elements using getCellValueAsString() where I am able to render based on other record attributes. Can anyone help me understand what’s happening here?

Has anyone used Amazon and Web-clipper? I’d like to use web-clipper alongside my asset management table so that on the order completion page of amazon I can clip the items ordered and who they were sent to. That would save me from manually putting in each item. I’m wondering if this is possible before I upgrade my account.

The CSV Import app will merge records from a CSV file with existing matching records and create new records in the target table. As far as I know, it’s not possible to merge/update only without adding new records. Am I missing something? Thanks.

I have a bar chart that uses a date/time value as the x-axis. The column that it is using is configured to display in my local time zone without the time value (see screenshot). However, on the chart, the record appears to be included in the bar for the next day (which would make sense if the chart was showing the dates in GMT). Is there any way to specify to use the local time zone for displaying with the chart? EDIT: We only just started noticing this behavior in the last couple weeks. I’m wondering if there has been a recent change to how charts are displayed?

Hi guys, I would love to get your help/creative ideas regarding Airtable automations. The company I’m working for has about 70 clients and it keeps growing. We’re in the middle of updating their bases to a new layout with multiple new features with a dependency on the automation features. Currently, we have a pro user with a limit of 50K monthly automations per base. We’re planning on moving to the enterprise plan, and unlock the possibility of 500K automations per month. Our problem starts when we’re thinking about the future. If we’ll add more clients - we’ll add more automations. Each base has about 60 columns, many of them depend on automation as said before, which leads me to the point that maybe even 500K automations won’t help us out here. I want to develop a timesheet form, with Date, Project, Employee, Task and number of hours worked. Given that there is likely to be several employees working on the same project and perhaps the same tasks, many of the records will contain much of the same information, is it possible to start the form with it loaded, pre-filled, with the same information as the previous entry?

I imported a report from a supplier webpage (table Quotes). This report is a list which contains Customer ID, Quote #, Product ID, Product Name, and other features. Each Quote # could have several Product ID´s. On the other hand, I created a table with Designs. Each design is associated to only one product ID. I want to get the info associated to the product ID, like Name, dimensiones, etc, from the Quotes table, but the primary key (first column) in Quotes is the Customer ID. How can I search and get info associated to a specific Product ID? Something like VLOOKUP function in Excel, where I can search a specific data and get the info in the next columns.

I’m planning to use Airtable as a backend for some submission. The estimated load is about 2400 submissions per hour during high traffic time, and many of them will come from Zapier as well. One of the fields is a video/image submission. It is critical that we do not lose submitted data. I’m a very new to Airtable. Is it something Airtable will be able to handle without loss of data or major hiccups?

Ok we’re having some family fun playing ping pong and we want to track games. Ideally, we would be able to track game results, player stats such as wins/losses, points per game average, total points, etc. While also keeping track of game stats like who played who, what the final score was, the game date, etc. I can’t seem to figure out how to track the game info and also have a table to that calculates player stats. The issue is having player 1 and player 2, so when I connect the Players table to the Games table, I have to connect it twice because there are two players. Anyway, here’s the base: Airtable

Hi guys, I am playing around with Airtable to see whether this could help our small eating disorders clinic (and me as the manager!) make us more efficient to see people and communicate with them. I have worked out how to send an email to myself automatically once someone has been waiting for more than 60 days, but I have not yet worked out how to include their name and/or email address in the automatic email to me so I can then get in touch with them. I’m attempting to use the XML app, and after I drag in the XML file, it requests an XPath. Is there a way to figure out what the Xpath might be just by looking at the XML file? I saw another answer in which nested data was going to prove problematic. The example that Airtable provides in their documentation doesn’t show the imported XML file, so I’m not able to figure it out by that example (XML import app – Airtable Support) The data that I’m attempting to import is the data filed with the SEC to show stock ownership. I’d like an easy/simple way to share read-only views of a half-dozen tables and a few blocks. How do I share some tables in a workspace, but not others, and how do I make sure that the blocks are also shared correctly? This is just to give a specific user a read-only report of their relevant data.
