Hello, I am linking to a record in another table that is the result of a formula. It is not showing up n the linked record. Is this something that is not possible to do? Thanks

I’m looking to use the gallery view that I have for recipes for a foodblog on a page in my blog. But to format to hyperlink to the PageDesigner App perhaps so users could print the recipe or scroll through them. How can I best do this? I feel Airtable is amazing but this one tweak would make it awesome! If there is a template that can be used to hyperlink to my blog tha would be great to know about.

We need to transfer data between Excel and Airtable. We have 40K Records but we seem to be limited to 15K. We are using the Block.

I have created tables for our customers and the text messages we send/receive through our landline texting service. I built the parent/child relationship but have found that when a new record is added to the text table, it automatically creates a new customer. Some texts are with vendors and the occasional inbound spam. They don’t need to be added to the customer table. Is there a way to only link to existing records vs automatically creating a record. Orphans are ok in this scenario.

I have a table TEAMS and another with MATCHES, each match has a SCORE. I want to show the most recent score for each team but looking at all of their linked matches and then doing a lookup on the match with the latest created at date. Is that possible?

I frequently use table-sync to sync tables between bases. I then link the synced records to records in other tables to maintain a single-source of truth for all of the information that I manage across my bases. I have been running into an issue where the synced records seem to un-link themselves. In the record history it shows the un-linking happening by Table-Sync. This does not happen with every sync, it seems to happen sporadically. Why is this happening and how can I keep it from happening in the future?

I am trying to set up a production calendar for my bakery. I calculate my total orders for a product based on a table that takes in a spreadsheet from my inventory software (SOS Inventory). This generates a “number of bakes” based on the yield of 30 units per bake approximately. What I want to do is have the table compare the number of bakes scheduled to the number needed, and generate additional records (bakes) that I can then add to the production calendar by assigning them to a date. In other words, I drag the unscheduled bake to a date on the calendar and it’s scheduled. In other words, if I need 90 units of a product, it tells me I need to do 3 bakes. If I have to make 120 units of another product, and there are two bakes scheduled already, it tells me I need two bakes. Can this type of thing be done in Airtable??

I have a very simple use case. I have a collaborator field on a record. The record gets updated (status changes to ‘ready’). Now I want the collaborator to be notified that the status has changed to ‘ready’. How can I do this? Note that this collaborator is not in our company Slack so I don’t want to automate a Slack message. I want Airtable to send them a notification (preferably by email). What’s the easiest way to achieve this?

We have a base used to track tasks for all of our clients. I have shared views with specific clients showing only certain fields and only their tasks, but the read-only restriction is a problem. The client really needs to edit status, etc. But if I make them collaborators so they can edit, as far as I can tell there is no way to limit which records and fields they can see? Is there any way to accomplish this? Is it possible to sync a view or a filtered table with a Google Sheet so I can give the customer access to the sheet? I can’t be the only one with this requirement!

Hi all and thanks in advance! I am well underway developing a custom CRM for the bases we have. The users of the CRM have to be able to upload files when they submit forms inside the CRM. It is in React for some context, no backend api, all requests are done client side. These are local files - they aren’t hosted and I need the url to the file for airtable. I have tried with Google Drive api but as each user is logged in via their own google account authentication becomes very tricky and I don’t want to spend a lot of time on that issue should there be a simpler way. For example, I add a link via google drive as the attachment but it just shows a “Google Sign In” page where you would expect the image to be. I was considering integrating a Zapier automation but not sure a) how feasible this is and if it actually solves my problem, or b) if I am really in the weeds here and there isn’t a way to solve this problem easily. I am building a big trivia game for Alexa. I have a User table that keeps all of my relevant data about my users. This includes rollups from other tables. I have another UserQuestion table that holds a record for each time that a user attempts to answer a question. They are timestamped, and marked with a checkbox as “Correct” or “Incorrect.” I would like to be able to roll-up a user’s current streak of correct answers. So, for example, if they have gotten their last 4 questions right, my rollup field would show the number 4. If they get their next question wrong, I would want this counter to reset to zero. I can do this in my application logic, but that requires querying this base every time, and doing the calculation on the fly. I’m trying to get Airtable to do the heavy lifting for me. Any recommendations?

I am very early stage in developing a business to business tool/template (evaluating into an app ideally) starting from a logical dataset that i want to set up in airtable. I have been doing this work for companies for over 20 years, know where i need to take this, but don’t know how to work the tools. I am looking for a logics expert to work on this with me, be a sparring partner or even point me in the right direction with Airtable and prevent re-inventing wheels in any way. Hi, Firstly … sorry for such a basic question but I’ve been through pretty much all the options a few times and still a blank look on my face! I’m planning to migrate over from Knack.com, here it’s easy to set a url column of data and change it to a hyperlink so it shows another field’s data as the hyperlink text. So for example you have a column of Product Titles and when clicked they go to the url in a new window. Simples! Also their formula field accepts html so you can create <a href … code with the other field variables. But … how do you do this in AirTable. I’m hoping there is a way as I was under the impression AirTables is an upgrade and more developed. Fingers crossed! Here is what I’ve tried: Formula field: doesn’t seem to like html so I can’s put … <@ href="{Product Link}" target="_blank">{Product Name}</@> … (I’ve put @ instead of a so you can see the code)

Hello, Currently I have a Pro Plan with only 1 billable collaborator and I need to transfer the ownership to another user. But my concern is to follow these FAQ instructions (How can I transfer ownership of a base or workspace to another user? – Airtable Support) and being charged for adding a new billable collaborator. Is there a way of replacing the owner without being charged for a second one, since I have to add the new owner before I remove the other?

Hey there, I have a question: When I open a record through clicking on it in a linked record field, what determines the order and visibility of fields that I see on the record? I often see fields that aren’t helpful for me, and I wonder: what do I have to do to make sure that certain fields are visible and appear at the top of the record? Thank you!

My problem is that want to remove a month on my date formula which is : UPPER((DATETIME_FORMAT({Date}), “MMMM”)) So my result looks like this “FEBRUARY” but i want my result to be -1 month so if the date is FEBRUARY, i want it to be JANUARY. I don’t know how to do that can somebody help me ? :thinking:

I have the following situation: a column of type multiple select some possible values amongst which a value with a comma in it When exporting to CSV, in the CSV file itself, that value appears wrapped by three double quotes, like this: “”“this, that”"" which according to the CSV RFC, means that the value in that field is “this, that” (including the surrounding double quotes), as double double quote is the escape of the actual double quote. What I want is the value this, that (without surrounding double quotes). I have read "Unwanted Quotes" in CSV , but there seems to be a special issue with the multiple select column where the double quotes are added twice, it behaves differently than for a simple regular text column.

Hi, I’m creating a table to track playlists and their curators. To stop me from adding duplicate records by mistake is it possible to set a requirement/validation on a field that all data must be unique. To be more specific, I’m currently using Knack.com where I can set a field to ‘Must be unique’ and I am using this on the ‘Playlist Link’ url field. This means when I’m adding a new record it would tell me if I’ve already created it - thus avoiding duplicates. I understand the Primary Field (the first column) is automatically set like this. But having the url as the primary field is not ideal as I’m assuming it will show up in the various views as the main field. Or I may need more than one field to be unique. Is this possible in AirTable … my fingers are crossed. Many thanks for reading my p

Hi, I have a database with a lot of books in it, along things like Imprint and Author there is also a lot of text explaining what the book is about. When I export it, the text gets all messed up, because there is a lot of commas in the text-column that has nothing to do with the delimiter. If i could export with other delimiters this shouldn’t be an issue. If I could wrap all cell content in quotes, this shouldn’t be a problem. But right now it is. Does anyone know a workaround? Hi, I really want to use Airtable for Data Entry but have the following problem. I’m not very technical so any replies should reply to me like I’m 5. Airtable exports CSV with comma separated values. The third party database I’m importing into only accepts semi colon separators. How do I transform the comma separators into semi-colon separators? Related Notes: I have access to both a PC and a Mac. I live in Australia where we use commas as currency decimal separators in our system settings. I tried just find/replace of the commas with semi-colons but of course this replaces all my non-separator commas in paragraphs into semi-colons. :slightly_smiling_face: I thought maybe I could put my paragraphs in Airtable between quotation marks and then somehow use something to say “whenever there’s a comma inside a quotation mark, don’t replace it with a semi-colon.” But I don’t know how to do this. Anyone have any suggestions?

The problem am facing with my base Many repeated questions or similar (%40 similar to other question) I want to label every record/question (old or new records ) Any new record > it look for any similar record and link to it , and link relevant data like year , month (like 6 similar records) +its link + state date example Jun 2020 , July 2020 , feb 2019 Also label each question with either two options 1-Unique 2-Repeated (some question are similar to this question or exact duplicate)

I am a volunteer that built a base for Grants Tracking for a nonprofit, using my gmail account. I am the Owner, with 3-read only shares to the nonprofit staff, while I created the base and am loading it for their Grants Team. The nonprofit is approved for discount rate. How do we upgrade plan? If I do it from my gmail Account Ownership, then it is full price. Should steps be: Transfer ownership of base to nonprofit rep who is approved for pricing. How do you transfer ownership of a base? She upgrades with nonprofit credit card to Pro plan Nonprofit has to pay for two - Base Owner and me as the volunteer collaborator Am I missing something?
