Hi all - Our company has a sheet specifically for “People,” where we create entries that identify a person, a description, and their contact information. Another component is “Connections” which is linked to the entire “People” database. Connections allows us to link two “People” together. One thing we’ve been trying to figure out is how we might automatically link these connections once a connection is created from one person’s profile. Example: We open Person A’s entry, and select Person B as a “connection,” and it is displayed on Person A’s profile. However, when you go to Person B’s profile, Person A is not listed as a “connection.” Is there a way to automatically backlink connections between two people? Please ask clarifying questions if this doesn’t make sense. Thank you.

OK - I have built a crazy complex base (IMHO) over the last month and a half. I am amazed at what it can do, but as it seems all advanced bases have - there are some kludgey solutions. Schema just for fun: OK - so vertically linked tables: Master Table → Flag table Resource Table -->Master Table Resource Table → Flag Table How to get the record created in #3 (Flag created in a Resource Table) to link over and show up in the Master table? Solution #1: Use automations to grab lookup field names and populate the linking record to get a flag created in #3 to show up in #1. That works. Hello, I hope someone can help me out. I have on airtable multiple tabs. For example a tab “Social Media campaigns” and a tab “Webshop” and a tab “Advertising” . Each tab consists of maybe 30 tasks but each of these tabs have one column that is called “this week” . This column has a checkbox, when we mark the checkbox, it is meant we do this task this week. Now, as we have multiple tabs, I want to create one new tab. This tab will be called “this week” and needs to summarize all tasks across all tabs into one tab. So we can have quickly an overview of all tasks we have to finish this week. It means the new tab should have some selection like this. Checkmark this week across all tabs is YES Then show in new tab Task name Tab name Something like that. That is all, I want! I dug into the sync tables but I could not figure it out.

Hi, guys! I need to share a base with a client, so he can fill some cells. It’s someone who is new to Airtable, so I’m afraid he got a bit scared. I was wondering: should I share an editable view with him or should I use a Google Sheet and integrate it with Airtable?

Hi. I’ve combined two tables into one but when I sort by any of the single text it sorts into two A-Z lists one after the other. This happens when I sort cells with numbers or with letters. I’ve checked and can’t see any leading spaces in either list (although may be checking for these wrong - I’ve been clicking into a cell and scrolling to the start to make sure the first character is a letter and not a space). Any other thoughts?

Hi everyone, I’ve been a long-time user, but only recently started following the forum. I have a table of hashtags specific to that are specific to my industry marked as “High”, “Medium”, and “Low” based on their popularity. I want to generate a list that selects a specific limit of hashtags per category randomly; ie. 6 High, 10 Medium, 16 Low. Ideally, I could regenerate a new list somehow and the list would be easy to copy to paste into Instagram. Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated. TIA.

Hi, Currently when I post an Airtable Form link on Facebook, the default Airtable thumbnail appears, and well as the generic blurb about AirTable. See screenshot: Is there a way to replace this Airtable image and blurb whilst keeping the link, or at least customising it?

The case is I build small android app using No Code approach and embed the Airtable on it (custom HTML). Most of the user will access through mobile and need to access the information from the app. Data from airtable is one of the information that the user need to access. Regard, Andrey

I’m looking to use the gallery view that I have for recipes for a foodblog on a page in my blog. But to format to hyperlink to the PageDesigner App perhaps so users could print the recipe or scroll through them. How can I best do this? I feel Airtable is amazing but this one tweak would make it awesome! If there is a template that can be used to hyperlink to my blog tha would be great to know about.

We need to transfer data between Excel and Airtable. We have 40K Records but we seem to be limited to 15K. We are using the Block.

I have created tables for our customers and the text messages we send/receive through our landline texting service. I built the parent/child relationship but have found that when a new record is added to the text table, it automatically creates a new customer. Some texts are with vendors and the occasional inbound spam. They don’t need to be added to the customer table. Is there a way to only link to existing records vs automatically creating a record. Orphans are ok in this scenario.

I have a table TEAMS and another with MATCHES, each match has a SCORE. I want to show the most recent score for each team but looking at all of their linked matches and then doing a lookup on the match with the latest created at date. Is that possible?

I frequently use table-sync to sync tables between bases. I then link the synced records to records in other tables to maintain a single-source of truth for all of the information that I manage across my bases. I have been running into an issue where the synced records seem to un-link themselves. In the record history it shows the un-linking happening by Table-Sync. This does not happen with every sync, it seems to happen sporadically. Why is this happening and how can I keep it from happening in the future?

I am trying to set up a production calendar for my bakery. I calculate my total orders for a product based on a table that takes in a spreadsheet from my inventory software (SOS Inventory). This generates a “number of bakes” based on the yield of 30 units per bake approximately. What I want to do is have the table compare the number of bakes scheduled to the number needed, and generate additional records (bakes) that I can then add to the production calendar by assigning them to a date. In other words, I drag the unscheduled bake to a date on the calendar and it’s scheduled. In other words, if I need 90 units of a product, it tells me I need to do 3 bakes. If I have to make 120 units of another product, and there are two bakes scheduled already, it tells me I need two bakes. Can this type of thing be done in Airtable??

I have a very simple use case. I have a collaborator field on a record. The record gets updated (status changes to ‘ready’). Now I want the collaborator to be notified that the status has changed to ‘ready’. How can I do this? Note that this collaborator is not in our company Slack so I don’t want to automate a Slack message. I want Airtable to send them a notification (preferably by email). What’s the easiest way to achieve this?

We have a base used to track tasks for all of our clients. I have shared views with specific clients showing only certain fields and only their tasks, but the read-only restriction is a problem. The client really needs to edit status, etc. But if I make them collaborators so they can edit, as far as I can tell there is no way to limit which records and fields they can see? Is there any way to accomplish this? Is it possible to sync a view or a filtered table with a Google Sheet so I can give the customer access to the sheet? I can’t be the only one with this requirement!

Hi all and thanks in advance! I am well underway developing a custom CRM for the bases we have. The users of the CRM have to be able to upload files when they submit forms inside the CRM. It is in React for some context, no backend api, all requests are done client side. These are local files - they aren’t hosted and I need the url to the file for airtable. I have tried with Google Drive api but as each user is logged in via their own google account authentication becomes very tricky and I don’t want to spend a lot of time on that issue should there be a simpler way. For example, I add a link via google drive as the attachment but it just shows a “Google Sign In” page where you would expect the image to be. I was considering integrating a Zapier automation but not sure a) how feasible this is and if it actually solves my problem, or b) if I am really in the weeds here and there isn’t a way to solve this problem easily. Appreciate your help of cours

I am building a big trivia game for Alexa. I have a User table that keeps all of my relevant data about my users. This includes rollups from other tables. I have another UserQuestion table that holds a record for each time that a user attempts to answer a question. They are timestamped, and marked with a checkbox as “Correct” or “Incorrect.” I would like to be able to roll-up a user’s current streak of correct answers. So, for example, if they have gotten their last 4 questions right, my rollup field would show the number 4. If they get their next question wrong, I would want this counter to reset to zero. I can do this in my application logic, but that requires querying this base every time, and doing the calculation on the fly. I’m trying to get Airtable to do the heavy lifting for me. Any recommendations?
