It would be great to be able to select the deliminator type for single and multiple select fields. For example if I’m pasting in a list of items that I want to be options and some contain commas it currently breaks those into separate listings. Whereas if I could set the deliminator type to only new lines or semicolons it would maintain the list items as I would like to use them.

Hello! I work in higher ed, and am trying to set up a highly automated CRM base. We’ve used Zapier for ages to create and update records in Google Sheets, and are shifting our process over to Airtable to allow more users access to the data. The primary challenge I’m encountering is in logging interactions. I have a Contacts table (with Email as the unique identifier), and an Interactions table (with things like General Web Form, Event Registration, etc.). So if a candidate fills out the General Web Form, I can have a unique Zap with the text ‘General Web Form’ dropping into the linked records --> Interactions field and it works like a charm. The challenge is at the second point of conversion: let’s say Event Registration. Zapier can locate the record, and then updated it – but If I use the same trick, the integration will overwrite the existing data in the linked records field, so I lose the General Web Form conversion. Adding records is simple, but is there a way to have the blank row with the plus symbol appear at the top of the table instead of at the bottom? My users are complaining that they have to scroll to the bottom in order to add a new record.

Hello, i’ve create a database with ingredients, recipes and meal plan tables. I’ve linked my recipe with a list of all ingredients inside this meal plan table, then my goal is to add a multiplier field in the meal plan table to adjust quantity of each ingredients of the list. Hello! I have two tables “Episodes” and “Team/Dates”. “Episodes” has a single select field called “Status” with 20 non-alphabetically listed options. When I create a linked lookup field in “Team/Dates” to the “Status” column in “Episodes”, it imports the field as text. Is it possible to import it as a single-select field? Or to somehow retain the sorting order from the “Episodes” single select field? The two workarounds I’ve found so far are adding a numerical prefix to each status (e.g., 01 Script, 02 Storyboards, 03 Edit) or using a formula in the second table with an emoji in front to do sorting. Hi! I’ve been looking around the forum and Reddit for a solution to copy records from one base to another using the scripting block. I just want to know if this is possible and maybe see an example to use as a reference. The idea is to get all the records from Base A Table 1 and copy them to Base B Table 1, without deleting existing ones. I need to have different bases so the data and permission management is easier. When importing a ics file with recurrence I am loosing information I want to include namely which day of the week is used (See RRULE field). How can I get this information pulled in? Hello - I recently created a Custom form using the ‘Encode URL’ component to prefill fields on a feedback form for our members. We email the custom URL to customers but when they complete it, it’s creating a duplicate entry on the grid view in Airtable vs updating the record with the URL we sent. Anyone else experience this? Is there some way to prevent it?

Hello, we have approximately 100 staff operating remotely and we use airtable to keep track of when they are available. Every week they email me in their date gaps that they are available and the location they will be in at the start and end of the gap (e.g. 11 June 2019 London - 10 July 2019 Paris). We need to know when they are free (not when they are working). At the moment they email in their dates and I manually enter them into the system. The dates are constantly changing and updating. So far airtable is great for keeping track of the dates and gaps, but if data entry could be automated at the staff level to enter their dates it would be a great time saver. Is there any way to have our staff be able to use a third party app or similar to edit their calendars which then when they complete an update it will automatically update their view in Airtable? I use Airtable to manage our goat dairy. I recently created a form to input the health checks directly into the database from our phones. It works great, but I am trying to eliminate the goats, no longer with us, either sold or deceased. I added a field in my main base of “In Herd” with a check mark option. The lookup for this field into our health base only returns the first goat, Aaron and leaves blank every other goat. I am lost. Thank you in advance. Image shows the receiving base of the lookup.

Hi. I am new at airtable. I rent camera equipment and would like to stick an QR code on every piece of equipment. Is there a possibility to scan each piece with the QR code when renting the equipment and Airtable picks it up in a seperate list (rent to) and when it comes back it is scanned again and set back to “in stock” ? I am working on a table to track products produced. My tables are the following. Parts - These are parts used to produce products Products - These are products produced from the parts Parts to produce junction table - This is a list of parts used to create the products with variations of parts used per product, and total weight etc. (many to many relationship) Build List - This is a list of products for production to build. How do I create a new table “parts to build list” for each build list automatically? I would like to select a product, and in another junction table create a copy of all the parts needed to produce from the “parts to produce junction table”. I used to use Filemaker, and this was a simple click of a button to automatically create records in a junction table when records were created in a linked table. I’m assuming this is available in Airtable, but I haven’t seen the option. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I am trying to figure out the best way to create the “New Record in View” trigger that Zapier has without having to use both softwares for my project. Ideally, this would be an Instant Trigger rather than a Scheduled Trigger, so I think the best way to do this would be with a “Watch Records” module in Integromat. Can anyone recommend the best way to go about doing this? Is there any way to do this without having to rely on the “last modified time” or “created time” fields? Thank you!

Hi - I want to allow users who fill in a form to either select a pre-created option (easy) OR create their own option. Put another way, I’d like a form user to add their own options to our overall table, which then become options for future users (although those users can still add their own new options). I believe I have set everything correct: Clicked on → Allow this field to be set in records created through forms. It is a multi-select field that can easily have new options added directly in the table (but not from the form). I have received the following error: Cannot accept submissions because forms don’t have permission to set the required field XYZ.

Is there a way to insert a record of the output in Airtable every time someone uses the tool? I think I’ve bitten off more than I can chew. I want my data in Airtable to flow into a snazzy PDF invoice. My data is spread across several tables (!) and now I need help to unpick my knotted CRM to enable this task. For example… Every invoice goes to a company, right? So, I put a lookup in my invoices table to reveal the company name. Then I lookup the company address, ZIP code and city. To make this a form-sensible address, I concatanate these together (with carriage returns!) to start. Then comes a subject line, and the salutation. That needs a lookup to the name, gender and then a field with Dear Sir…, or Dear Mr and so on. My customers get billed monthly, and I keep a running total of their orders. I’m a Project Manager at aa design studio, and what I’m looking to do is create a base that takes my team’s hours from our time-tracking software, and be able to look into the amount of time spent per job and make an average by job-type. For example, if I’m starting a web design project, I’d like to be able to look into my base, and see what the average amount of time (hours) that we spent on our previous web design projects. I’ve already built out a table that should work, and have all of our data imported to it. Now I’m wondering how to get the average, per job-type. I am trying to integrate with JotForm and I am running into problems. It seems like the Airtable cell datatype is not corresponding with the JotForm datatype. Has anyone done any in-depth integrations with both platforms? Thanks, Eric
