I am getting close to getting this right but need help with one aspect. I have set up two tabs, one tab has responses from my questionnaire and another is going to chart the results. When I have a field that reads a certain word from my response table “ie, red” I want it to tally in my chart tab as 1 response was “red” I have linked the two charts but this isn’t automatically populating, can anyone assist? Thanks!

I’m having a lookup table in my view and I like to filter using elements from that table. I create a precise filter using the “is” statement. However, it does not work and other eletents also display – as if I had chosen “contains.” I’m now forced to exclude with an AND statement other elements, thus making my filter bloated. Hey Airtable Fam. I would love to build better graphs. Is the chart block super limited or am I just doing it wrong. Here is a graph of the ages of my database. I can only see the number if I hover over the age block. How can I get it to show the number of entries per age? or if I had them as percentages (I guess by building a formula to show percentage of the age and then making a chart from that) Any help to make my charts better would be massively appricaited. Thank you

I am looking to automatically categorize information submitted in a form into individual databases based on 1 question in the form. is this possible? I was thinking that maybe all information is submitted to one database and then split into multiple bases automatically based on some sort of linking. Can anyone help?

I’m still plugging along with an Airtable portfolio/project tracker PoC used to support our weekly reporting requirements. I would like to have unique milestones (i.e. different sets of milestones) tied to specific projects. Currently, I have 3 tables with the following (relevant to this discussion) information: [Portfolio] – {Project Name} - Primary field – {Milestones} - linked to [Milestones] table. [Status Report Entries] – {concatenated Project Name + Date/time formula} - Primary field – {Project Name} - Linked to [Portfolio] table – {Status} - Long Text – {Milestone} - Linked to [Milestones] table [Milestones] – {Milestone} - Primary field – {Project Name} - Linked to [Portfolio] table When our managers enter information into the Status Report Entries table, I would like the {Milestone} field to only pull milestones available for a specific project. I’m trying to do EXACTLY what is shown in this video: Airtable - Support Rollup field overview   A rollup field performs calculations or formulas on specific cells from records that are linked to another field in your table. Sound complicated? It’s not! Watch this video guide and get started... Yet, when I create my new Rollup field, and select the field that links to the other table, it won’t let me do anything more and instead I get a message in the formatting tab that says, “Your field is not fully configured. You need to have a valid field configuration in the formula tab before adding formatting options.” But there is no formula tab visible to fill in. Why is it showing me this message?

Hi everyone ! Here is my issue : I have to manage the planning of different training session. For each session (ie : each entry), I have 3 dates, and each date has a trainer : Training A / Date 1 / Trainer 1 / Date 2 / Trainer 2 / Date 3 / Trainer 3 Training B / Date 1 / Trainer 1 / Date 2 / Trainer 2 / Date 3 / Trainer 3 … Each trainer can be on different session, and different dates. In the end : how can you get a personal planning for each trainer ? :thinking: Since filters apply to the whole entry, I have difficulties to keep only the date related to a specific trainer. I suspect I may have put my hands in the script blocks but if you have a workaround, I’ll take it ! Thanks ! Arnaud

I am using the Zapier trigger for ‘New Record In View’ to get records that have a date field that is equal to today’s date. However, as I understand it, that trigger will only work the very first time that record is shown in the view. Each record will show in this view once per year, and I’d like it to trigger each year. Seems like it won’t do that if it only triggers on the first time in that view. Is there a workaround for this?

A simple export of a table as CSV does NOT come back in tact! I added a period to another text field using Notepad to make the simplest change possible without formatting issues. Then, I imported the same CSV I exported save for the 1 period added within a text string (so it would update the record). The multiple select column kept only ONE selection for the updated row… I need to be able to import updated content reliably. This is not proving to be the case.

Hi all - I have some real estate data I want to import which is a list of property information and contact information associated with that contact. So one owner, who was a unique mailing address may have a relationship to one property or to many other properties. Is there a way I can import the data in the link below into a “Properties” Table and a “Contact” table? I recently got a response from the Airtable team that we may get back the random number from Formatter by Zapier. Here is the idea Airtable-Formatter-Airtable I want to have a random unique combination of four digits, the “0” ( or “00”, “000”) can not be in the beginning, I need some excellent folks to help, because now seems really possible that I’ve been trying to understand this Formatter to convert data into a different format. when I download a view the telephone field (column) is incomplete - only (845) is downloaded and not the whole telephone number. field is defined as Phone. Thank you for your help!

Hi Can anyone help please? When using a calendar view with two date fields one with date and one with date and time - I cannot drag into time slot only full day event. Is this a bug or should I be able to? Thanks, Maria

I’m working on creating functionality for an Airtable CRM that mimics functionality found in Hubspot or other CRMs, where you can bcc an email address and it will record the message in the database under your communications with that person. I’m user Zapier with an Email > Airtable Lookup (and optionally Create) > Airtable Update flow. It’s working well enough - when I bcc a “wizard” email address, Zapier looks up the recipient in my CRM (and creates one if it doesn’t exist) and then updates a Date Last Contacted and Last Message field in that user’s record. Here’s where I’m running into trouble. This system will only give me the most recent message. I would like to use the revision history feature within Airtable to view past messages to that user. But, I found when Zapier updated the cell, Airtable did this “version history” thing where some words that were shared between message (like “the”) were maintained in green, and other words were crossed out (see image). Airtable’s Zapier action “New Record in View” will ONLY trigger if a record appears in the view for the VERY FIRST TIME. However, if a record falls off the view — and then that very same record returns to the view at a later date — it WON’T trigger the Zapier action again. We actually need the ability for an automated action to trigger EVERY SINGLE TIME a record re-appears in the view, whether or not the record has appeared in that view in the past. Meanwhile, It looks like Integromat.com will trigger an action EVERY SINGLE TIME a record is UPDATED (which is a great step in the right direction!), but it doesn’t look like it can monitor just one particular view in Airtable. We don’t need the automation triggered every single time the record is updated; we just need the automation triggered whenever the record re-appears in a particular view. So, I’m back to using Airtable for a certain business project. I set up one field as a Single Select field, with four choices. Then I looked for a way to set a default value for new records. To my surprise, there wasn’t a way to do that. So, I came here, and discovered that people have been asking for this fairly simple feature for years. And it’s still not implemented. Airtable folks, this seems like a big drop to me. Every database I know, all the way back to dBase III+ (yeah, I’m old), has had a way to set a default value. When is 2020 Airtable going to have it?

Has anybody out there tried to use airtable on the Amazon tablets, does it work and if it dies is it work well, I need to get airtable mobile on a tablet and this might be a Good option for me unless some has another idea ; regards Andrew

Hello! I’m trying to figure out how to make a Block flowchart or org chart to show the relationship between one main Project record (in a Project table) and many Subtask records (in a separate Subtask table). The blocks are telling me the records have to be linked within the same table… this is very inconvenient for the way my team has our projects structured, and I’m confused why Airtable wouldn’t recognize this as an expected use of the tool. Apologies if this has been asked before, I’ve been scouring the Community topics for a while now and can’t find anything about my specific question. If this is not an option at this time, 1) does anyone have any workarounds they could recommend? and 2) I would love for this to be an actual feature of the tool. Again, very surprised this was not anticipated to start with.

Huge apologies if I’m asking somehting idiotic! First time poster… I run a charity and want to enable our volunteers to update their own contact info and details such as next of kin etc. I know there is no way to edit information in my main table. But can I set up another table which I pull data from using a lookup and have that lookup only pull the most recen information ie. if I am Jo Bloggs, I submit my next of kin details on a form. Something changes, I then submit another form and the first one is negated by this later additon? Thanks in advance for any help offered. Very best, Nathan

Hi, I am creating a chart block to use for reporting. I have been asked to create something like the attached. I have set up a table and can get all the category counts to show accurately in a a stacked bar chart block. What I can’t seem to do is add the “Total” to the top. Is there a way to do this through the chart block settings that I’m missing, or does anyone have some advice about an category I could create to house the totals and then add them to the chart block? I have a scenario where I am mapping a Multi-Select Field in one Airtable Base to a Multi-Select Field in another Airtable Base using Integromat. The scenario requires the JSON Parse module in order to correctly parse the data to show up correctly in the 2nd Base. The Multi-Select Field can contain a variety of social media Channels, like Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, etc. The scenario works great unless I add in more fields beyond the ones that are being sent. For example, if I map it to where there are 6 potential Channels to choose from (Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Tiktok, Snapchat) but only 3 are sent in the Scenario, those 3 extra fields will be sent as “null” and this causes an error in the Scenario. Is there any way to remove that null, so that the JSON produces THIS: {“Channel”:[“Twitter”,“Instagram”,“Youtube”]} instead of THIS: {“Channel”:[“Twitter”,“Instagram”,“Youtube”,null,null,null]} Thank you!

We’re making use of Airtable to help manage our delivery menu for bud.com. Airtable’s CSV Import Block helps to bring on new products for various regions into our overall catalog. Now we’re running into an issue with field mapping in the CSV Import Block: Airtable mixes up the fields to match as we import different spreadsheet, and there’s no way to quickly reset the import system. Details: We import a CSV of items from Sacramento using the Airtable CSV Import block. We have matching field names for the import data, so the fields show up matching immediately - hurray! We are importing fast. Then we go to import a CSV of items from Oakland. The Oakland fields are about 95% the same, but with a few different field names, and a different order to the fields. For this second CSV, even if they have many overlapping field names, AirTable will suggest non-matches - ignoring direct matches. So if we had matched these fields for a Sacramento CSV import: Published <= Published Weight (g) <

Hi, I am a newbie so I apologize if the answer to my question is obvious. I am trying to create a simple Airtable → Zapier → Airtable Zap. I am using the BoardGameGeek XML API to get data to create a database of my boardgames. Zap gets a field from the triggering record (a boardgame ID), use webhooks to send a request to BoardGameGeek XML API and stores the values back into the same Airtable record. My problem is that some values appear as “null” and stored as empty cells, but some other values are working fine. I tried adding a content-type header “application/xml”, but it didn’t solve anything. I can’t find the issue and I would really appreciate some help.
