**3/18 UPDATE: AT support was unable to find any evidence of why this happened; we were also unable to recreate the events and have it happen again. The ticket with them remains open; best guess is that it happened during the same time as a service outage (there was one that affected rich text fields around the same time.)We have a table in a base set up as a simple ticketing system, nothing fancy.Users update a long text field with any actions/updates to the ticket in question.All users who have access to the base access the same way (grid view), though they each have their own view set up.We utilize the '@mention' feature to notify the responsible party after certain actions, and when they become responsible.We've noticed that any time someone enters new information in the long text field and '@'s' someone, the record removes all previous '@'s'.I've watched this happen in real time, and am confident that the system (Airtable) is making these changes, and not the human user, even thou

I have a paid account that I need to move to a free account. I created an inventory for a client that I don't want to lose access to, but that I don't need to update or change at all. It has more than 1GB of attachment data that I don't want to lose, but don't need to actively use. What will happen if I switch to a free plan? Will I just lose the ability to add anything, or will I lose data entirely or partially? Thank you!

Hello - We have a table of home improvement companies and we use the multiple select feature to indicate what services they offer. There are 82 services under the select feature and we add as many as the company does. For example, Best Painting is tagged for "Interior Painting" "Exterior Painting" etc. During a bulk upload, we use the website as a unique ID, and we want to add services to existing companies without replacing their old ones. Best Painting is on our bulk upload list, and we want to add "Cabinet Painting" to their services. When we do this using the CSV extension, it always clears and replaces the existing services. We have merge records toggled on and it will say "1 record will be updated" - but it always replaces instead of adds. Any tips?   

Hi all – I’m brand new to Airtable and super excited about what it can do for our business. Has anyone tried migrating from the Streak CRM (which embeds within Gmail) to Airtable? Although I love Streak, it can get clunky for ongoing and complex relationships – and I think Airtable will be better suited to that. If any experienced Airtable users have already done this, I would love to learn from you!

Hello,I have a table called "applications" containing all the information of students who have applied for a grant. As part of the grant requirements, I'm requesting students to submit a final report. To facilitate this process, I'm using Fillout to populate a new table called "reports." One of the advantages of Fillout is its ability to edit form submissions, among other features not available in Airtable.Now, my question is regarding the setup of the "reports" table. I plan to use the students' emails as the primary field in the "reports" table. Since the same emails will already exist in the "applications" table, I want to link these primary fields to the corresponding emails in the "applications" table. This way, I can easily access and view all the information related to each student in one place.Is it possible to achieve this using an automation? Any suggestions or guidance on how to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated.Thank you.

Hi, I am trying to design a scheduling tool for my business, and the timeline view is proving itself to be very handy. One think I can't quite work out is what 'precise' or 'expanded' does - in certain views. For example, if I have a morning and afternoon booking on the same day, when viewing the whole week, these display as 'full day bookings', and therefore take up two lines. I expected that 'precise' view would show these as two bookings on the same line (representing exactly the amount of time they take up), and 'expanded' to show as I've described, but that doesn't appear to be the case. I can't see why it wouldn't do that - as obviously the software can render records smaller - the month view demonstrates that. It would be great to see these bookings in a single line. Can anyone shed any light on whether this is designed behaviour, or something unusual in my setup?Thanks for the help,Richard

Hello everybody, at first I set one column in my table 1 so that I can link it to items of records from a different table 2 (via multi-linking to record). Then I wish to fill a different column in table 1 through rollup function with another matching item of the same records from table 2. Problem is, that the order inside the rollup column is automatically opposite to the order in the first column linking to the record. I would like to have the same order in both columns, but I cannot set anything about the order connected to the rollup function. Can anybody help, please?

The new Interface feature allows you to filter a collaborator field by “current user” which is a great time saver. Anyone know if they will make this available in regular AirTable views? I really need it.

Suppose you have a series of records that include zip codes. There may be many of one zip code and a few of a bunch of others. How do I get a list of the frequency of these zip codes? So 14757 occurs 6 times and 14722 occurs 9 times and 20021 occurs 3 times, etc. I want to get a list of the zip codes by how often they occur and if possible a count of that frequency.Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.Scott

Apologies if this has been asked/answered but I couldn't find that thread - I really did look!I have some MAKE scenarios with many Airtable Modules, all linking to single Airtable BASE - itself having many Tables. But, I want to set up a clone of everything (All MAKE Scenarios duplicated and pointed/linked to newly duplicated Airtable BASE).I am using "Column IDs" in the Advanced section of all my Airtable Modules in MAKE. Why? It seems to offer a bit more flexibility for changing field names in Airtable, so they update automatically when referenced in MAKE. However, this seems to be working against me now - see below.Column IDs doesn't make any difference if I simply CHANGE an existing Airtable Module to connect/link-to the New Airtable base - the field mappings downstream break. Fine.But, I never give up, and I have the Developer Tools for Chrome, and it has this weird tool called Remap Source, which does what I want! But in order for it to work, I have to CLONE an existing Airtable

I’m starting using AirTable and VoiceFlow. I use the following URL Endpoint to GET JSON string and it works fine. httpx://api.airtable.com/v0/appRDBju2BbYrBKCc/colori?maxRecords=1000&pageSize=1&offset={offset} I need to add filterByformula function. Could you suggest me syntax and how i have to use it? Is there a good documentation for this anywhere? Thanks very mach. Federico

The "Add record" and "Add milestone" controls are disabled in our Gantt view. Removing all filtering, all grouping, and disabling/re-enabling "Use milestones" in the view's settings have not helped.'How is this supposed to work?

I would like to use a content calendar to create a mockup or preview of my instagram grid based on the dates and images in a record, so that I don’t need to go outside of airtable to preview it. Has anyone found or built a solution that does this?

Hi! I already created and published a form that has received entries. I realized I need to add another question in the form so I added the question in the form, and added that column manually into the base that collects the data. I published the form, but answers for that added question doesn't show up in the Airtable base where it collects data. Where am I going wrong? I made sure to add the column with the exact text in the same order as the form. I also published the form. I can't see anywhere else I need to make changes in order for this response to reflect in the base data. Any advice?  

This morning, trying to use an interface created a long time ago, I encountered an anomaly:when I go to create a record, it does not extract the list of valid values if it has to extract them from a table via a filter.I enclose two screenshots showing how the list on the form is empty, while the preview list of selection criteria has the correct values.Thank you for your support in resolving this anomaly

I've got an automation in Airtable to send a record ID to Make to then fetch some data and send a whatsapp message. When I send the content of a 'Long text field' - it fails. I've tried adding a function in Make to remove all special characters like line feeds etc. and send to WhatsApp - but I can't get it right. Anybody know what special characters are used or the regex I could use?In my trouble-shooting, I created a single line text field and copied the text in there - then use that to send to whatsapp - and it works...  just without the line breaks. Any ideas for me please? 

Is anyone using the Resource Allocation Template, or is there a explainer video on how to use it? It looks awesome, but it's overwhelming. I'm not sure where to start. Regarding how to set up that whole process, I'm unsure how to even begin setting an amount of time required to complete a given task. We have a work order that comes in for a design task. It may take 8 hours... no problem, I can assess that and assign a time of 8 hours. But that job then comes in and out numerous times for varying degrees of revisions. Those revisits don't require 8 hours each, so I'm unclear how to best set the time duration so that it's properly allocated once the initial job goes out the door.Any insights on how to start using the amazing new Resource Allocation template is appreciated!!

Previously I have added PDF attachment via API call. This was done using presigned S3 url of a PDF and updating table's field with {"url": url, "filename": filename} whereas url has no ".pdf" in but filename bears the form of "xxx.pdf". These PDFs can be opened on iphone app through open with browser, where redirection would be opening a pdf. (Content-type GETing the link is application/pdf).From yesterday, uploads done the same way would get the right pdf file but with header Content-type: binary/octet-stream. On the phone the pdf failed at displaying and tried to download a file instead. My question is:i)  has anyone experienced specifying filename with .pdf now but not getting pdf back?ii) has anyone got a way way to fix this issue?This change is breaking existing business needs. Please advice at earliest convenience is possible. Many thanks! 

Two questions: Is there a way to say that a record cannot be created without certain fields being filled in? Some fields may be optional but some are absolutely mandatory. Is there a way to constrain the values that a field may contain? For example, you may want to limit a numeric field to values > 0 and less then 100 and reject a record whose field falls outside of those constraints Thanks in advance!

I’ve duplicated some tables and then afterwards renamed them. However, in lookup fields when selecting a table to lookup from the original name still shows up, which makes me have to guess which is the right one. Anyone experiencing this too and knows how to recache the table names or sth?

Hi y'all - I think I've found a VERY dumb breach in Airtable that's leaking PII.  I've sent in an email and reached out via the help system, but I suspect these forums might be better monitored - could an Airtable rep please find a way to contact me for proof? If I can figure out a way to share an image w/o showing how the breach is happening, I'll update this thread and do so.

I’ve pulled lead capture form submissions into a base. But people have submitted forms multiple times, with the same info. How do I use email address to filter out duplicates?
