What is the proposed idea/solution? I suggest introducing a test/production environment feature in Airtable that applies to the data automations and interface sections of a base. This would allow users to create and test changes within a "test" version of a base, including data modifications and interface updates etc.. without impacting the live production environment. Once the changes have been fully tested and validated, users could publish these changes to the production environment, ensuring that the live base remains stable and unaffected during the testing phase. How does is solve the user problems? Comprehensive Risk Mitigation: It provides a safe environment for users to experiment with data, automations and interface changes, minimizing the risk of disrupting the live base. Increased Confidence in Updates: Users can test new workflows, interface layouts, formulas, scripts, and automations comprehensively in isolation, ensuring everything works correctly before pushing changes live. Streamlined Workflow: This would eliminate the need for cumbersome workarounds, such as duplicating bases for testing, and reduce confusion caused by multiple versions. It would also allow for seamless transitions from testing to production, improving overall efficiency. Who is the target audience? Power Users: Those who use Airtable for complex projects and need to test changes before going live. Teams and Organizations: Groups relying on Airtable for collaboration, requiring safe testing environments to avoid disruptions. Developers and Technical Users: Those building custom scripts or integrations who need a sandbox for experimentation. Project Managers: Responsible for maintaining base integrity, ensuring changes are vetted before deployment. Consultants: Professionals managing Airtable for clients, needing to demo changes safely before applying them to live bases Thank you Team Airtable !

What is the proposed idea/solution? Provide an option to opt out of the new user onboarding flow. Stop forcing the flow to pop up every time we navigate to a new page. How does is solve the user problems? It prevents users (like me) being extremely irritated when trying to just get on with doing what I need to do. I've used Airtable before, like many others. How was this validated? I personally have designed and implemented similar new user onboarding flows. It's also just a poor UX, because it doesn't provide users with the agency to navigate and use the product according to their needs - it forces users to complete flows according to Airtable's unvalidated needs. In fact, how did Airtable validate the need to persist the flow, rather than providing an opt-out? Who is the target audience? Every single new user.

Hi, Not sure if my previous post worked, but one of the comments from the team at work is that the grid views are messy when it's a whole page of 'pill' shapes, particularly when they're all different widths (based on the text length of each option). Is there the ability to: 1. Shade/colour the entire cell instead of just a pill shape? 2. If not, can the width of the pills be based on the width of the column instead of the text length, so they're clear and a consistent width regardless of the dropdown option selected? 3. And, can white be included as a pill colour so we can have drop-down fields that look like plain text? These would significantly help with clarity when reading grid views. Cheers, Andrew

What is the proposed idea/solution? When displaying a linked records field as a Gallery, it would be nice if you could right-click the records to unlink them. If 'Link / unlink records' is toggled on, this would make sense. How does is solve the user problems? It's confuses users to have to change views, then right click in order to unlink records. How was this validated? It's always confusing and a bit unintuitive to have to switch views in order to unlink records in the Gallery view Who is the target audience? Probably more geared toward users who aren't as Airtable savvy as us power users.

In Form View (and in grid view also), we have some multi- and single-select fields. The selection options tend to be long, and some would need to wrap two lines of text to be displayed fully on form view. People using the form, can see the full option text of the selection by mousing over, but this is tedious as we have many long selections. It would be great, if when we create the field, we have the option to "Wrap Text." We realize this may mean that some of the checkboxes will have one line gaps between them, but that is OK with us. We prefer better customer usability. Screenshot image: Shows long text being cut off. "Add wrap text toggle option here" image: Where you can put the option to wrap text

It would be nice to optionally enable Clean URLs for Airtable pages. Currently, Airtable urls are basically a random string of characters that give no information on what is at the url. So if I shared an Airtable link with someone, instead of seeing something like https://airtable.com/appdfvokijweroiwdroikj/tbldfvolkfgvlmkvblk/viweiociokjwefn and have no information on what they are about to click on, it would be something like https://mycompany.airtable.com/my-awesome-base/my-great-table/grid-view

Currently, when creating a table, users are prompted with the "What should each record be called?" dropdown menu. There are many options available but not one for every use case out there. It would be nice if when the user selected "other" they got a chance to type in exactly what they want the records in the base to be called or if Airtable got rid of the drop down altogether and made it a freetext field by default.

What is the proposed idea/solution? Please make it possible to sync the google drive in an automation or from an API call as an extra option beside just the 5 minute interval or manual click in the airtable><Google Drive table that is currently available. How does is solve the user problems? When you are designing workflows in an airtable interface and the flow is touching on a document that is created and then stored in a google drive, your workflow is automatically interupted now until the sync is completed between airtable and Google drive before you can work with the data from the newly created document. The only way to bypass this lagg currently is by manually going into the table and press the "sync now" button. However, in many use cases (including mine), you dont want the customer to go into the data part of airtable. How was this validated? I have been looking online and the only somewhat relevant info is on how to keep the table "alive" by setting up an automation on an interval. But that doesnt solve the problem as it still requires you to wait a few minutes for the sync to automatically occur. Who is the target audience? Workflow designers who have customers who only get access to interfaces or external access (like softr, make etc.)
