Hi everybody! I’m new here and learning everyday some new incredible capabilities of Airtable. I work for a not-for-profit organization and we often use Kobotools to collect data from our beneficiaries. Kobotools is an ODK based survey platform (kobotoolbox.org). In Kobotools there is a built in REST service and I was trying to connect a an airtable table to Kobo, in order to create a new record with the results of the surveys. But I’ve no expirence with API and I’m really struggling to understand if it is possible to do that and if yes, how I can realize that. Hi! I'm working on a project for collating legal contracts and their details. The contract covers different territories, so I need a good way to represent territory data in an airtable column.Our contracts sometimes combine different countries into different groupings such as 'Latin America' or 'Caribbean Islands', etc. While I don't need to get too granular, I would like to at least divide the territories based on Continent for easy data entry. Ideally selecting a continent will select all the countries in that continent as well. What I want essentially looks something like the below screenshot, but I am not sure if this can be implemented on Airtable directly or not.I wonder if I could integrate airtable with some other software? or add some extension? or if there is some creative script or formula that could implement this?Any advice is apprec

Hello,I have an automation that triggers on a schedule to send program information out to various recipients.  The configuration for the email is to send from the respective program manager's email address and reply to that same email address.  These are branded Gmail accounts and the configuration can be seen in the screenshot.I can tell that the configuration is correct in preview mode.  However, when the automation runs, the emails are sent from my email account, rather than the program managers'. Is there a way to fix this in Airtable? Gmail?

Ok... will try my best to explain and hopefully someone will get what I'm trying to do. I have a table where each record includes a long text description of an offer in one column and another column that links to a table of manufacturers. I would like to use automation to search the long text description for the name of a manufacturer from the manufacturer table, and then add the link to that manufacturer in the next column.Is it possible within AirTable? I also have a Make/Integromat pro account so can use that if necessary.  

Hello,I'm trying to run a script in an airtable form. The idea is to retrieve the GPS location of the person filling in the form by using their browser. Obviously, using the paid extension from Miniextensions is not a solution for me. Do you have any ideas? Have a nice day!

I got 3 tables:  As you can see on table Lectures i started matching Lectures with Trainings one-by-one. But the list is very long. Do you have any idea how to match Lecturers with trainings on one table?

We recently updated to the business plan to take advantage of the two way syncing between bases.  However, every time I try and update information in a field from the target base it gives me an error.  We are a custom closet company and utilize Air Table as our CRM.  Our designers each have their own bases that sync with our main base so they have access to all of their client's information and projects.  We saw that the two way syncing feature has been added for Business level plans and were hoping to eliminate alot of work arounds so our designers could update client information, contract totals etc.Can anyone help me or suggest a different way for them to update information?  We already utilize forms. Thanks!Amanda

Is there a way to identify how a field was created if it was not created by a person? There is a field that was created but can not identify how it was created. Not sure if a person created it or it was created through an automation erroneously. 

Hello everyone. I am using airtable as a database for participants in programs, and every time a student attends a program, we have to make a new record for them instead of being able to hold all the info in one line. The reason is because if I make the program field a multiple select drop down (which is linked to another sheet with program information), if I group by program, anyone who has multiple programs in their program field will not appear in the group. Is there a smart way around this? At the moment, when students have multiple entries we have a checkbox field for duplicate records. This is inefficient. 

I have a kanban view with 5 columns, day 1 through day 5, for following up with leads. I want to fire off a text message using salesmsg through zapier each time the lead is dragged into the next day column. The issue I'm having is in zapier, it seems that every time I update the lead, regardless of the field, the sms is triggering, sending the message multiple times whereas I just need it to send once.Any help is greatly appreciated!

Requesting some guidance here. I'm new to Airtable and have read some documentation but have not fund any examples similar to my use case. I have a single select data field that I need to convert each selection items to a numeric value that can then be leveraged in a calculated field that will score an item in the table.How can this be done in Airtable?

Hello, I would like to create an invitation form for a party with 150 people maximum. The first 150 registrants receive an automatic email to confirm their participation and the others an email explaining to them that they are on the waiting list.Each guest can come accompanied by a +1, how do I know when the 150 guests are on the list to create the email automation?Thank you so muchAlex

Hi - I'm looking for help with understanding airtable's automation logic.In my table, I have a formula that takes a few fields and combines them to make a URL. One of those fields (call it "field X") is initially blank until a webhook later updates it. Additionally, I have an automation set up to trigger once field X is no longer blank (i.e. the webhook updated field X). This automation sends out an email with the URL in it, assuming that the URL was updated to include field XQuestion is, does this create a possible race condition where the email automation could be fired off before the URL formula has time to update? I saw an instance where the email URL was incorrectly updated with field X so I'm trying to troubleshoot here. Any help would be appreciated!

Whenever I try to copy/paste formatted text (eg bold) in a long text field within an Interface, whenever the long text field is long enough across the screen, it makes my screen jump to the beginnen of that field AND it forgets the formatting (bold will become plain text when paste). This is very annoying and happens when I copy/past from outside AT to that field, but even when I copy/past with text within the field.Anyone else got this issue?Mailed to support in April about this. They confirmed it needed a fix, but nothing so far...

Today any script that I was using remoteFetchAsync (to avoid CORS errors) is giving me this error: j: Error: Bad request: <root>.requestJson is missingThis error comes up on a few requests to different unrelated APIs. Additionally, some which work using regular fetch give this error when using remoteFetchAsync.These scripts were working fine until now. Any ideas?

Good Morning!I had a question about moving my projects within the table itself.  I have a main "Ready For Install" section and below are two other sections, one for each install team.  What I want to know and if I am able to, is how do I make it so when I want to assign a job from the main "ready to install" section to a team, if that job line will move out of the main section and into the appropriate one.  Also, i want to link install team 1 and install team 2 to separate calendar views, so whatever job is assigned to team 1, only team 1 can see, and same with team 2.  any help is greatly appricated.

Hi,I created an Airtable automation to pull several fields from my airtable form submission to a separate airtable database (i.e., Creating a new record).However, I am facing issues when pulling the file attachment field - error shows "invalid string".I've tried changing the type of display but nothing seems to work for pdf files (note: it works fine if the file submitted is a png/image file).Any assistance is greatly appreciated! 

I have a table called 'jira tickets' with a single select column called 'status' with options like new, in progress, done, closed etc.The options in the single select are ordered appropriately within the field definition and so if I group by the status field within the jira tickets table, the groups are correctly ordered.But I have another table called 'work items' that links to the 'jira tickets' table and has a lookup field on the 'status' column.  Now when I group by the status lookup (in the context of the 'work items' table), the groups are unsorted by the original configuration.  And you can't override this on the level of the work items table because when you edit the lookup field, you don't see the options to be able to sort them.Is it possible to enforce the original order of the lookup field when grouping from a linked table?  I understand perhaps I could achieve this using a rollup, but it's so much less aesthetically pleasing I'm reall

HiWhen designing Leave Form Request, I have made a new form, however, there is no Submit button as default.  How to input that button in the form with automation that once the button is clicked, it will send notification?The "submit button' is shown in the Form view derived from Grid view, however, this setup wouldn't allow new linked elements right?How to set automation, when a form is submitted, the status field in Grid view is "pending approval".  When it is approved, the status changed to "approved".  I can only do it when I chose pending approval in status field in the form before submission, but it is weird.How to import "Adobe Signature" in the Approved by field?Grateful if anyone can help.  As a beginner, I read many useful solutions however no clues on the above.   

Hello, all.I'm new to Airtable and I need to create a form that tracks how many hours my coaching team is meeting with individuals each month. Each entry would be a new meeting, and I meet with individuals only once each month. Ideally, it would all exist on a single table. Each row would need to have the following information: Individual's name, date, duration, coach, Notes. Ideally, I would have another column that sums the month's hours as I go, call it "Hours this month".I assume there should be a formula that can do that for me, but I haven't for the life of me been able to utilize my Excel knowledge to create a working formula for AT.Any recommendations or alternatives to how I can approach this?

I need to create a yearly calendar that shows each event that happens during the month. The entire year needs to be printed on one page. Each event needs to be color coded to show the person assigned to the project. (There are cases where more than one person is assigned to the project.) We need the months going vertically and the days of the month going horizontally. We’ve tried Gantt Block. The issue is that color does not allow multiple colors. We’ve tried Calendar View. It doesn’t allow you to view an entire year or see multiple colors. Linking to Outlook doesn’t allow the ability to print the entire year. Linking to Google doesn’t allow to the colors to be assigned. The timeline is too large to print and has the same issue with colors. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!! I would like to embed Airtable views into Dropbox Paper – seemingly simple, however it isn't working.In Dropbox Paper I select "insert media" and select Airtable, where I paste the code. I then get a message that says "You do not have permission to view this content. This view is restricted to a specific email domain.".My colleague has tried and is asked to sign in (but upon signing in the message to sign in remains). We have embedded Airtable content onto our live website using the embed code with no issues and all users in the Dropbox Paper have access to our Airtable so I am unsure what causes the error.Any help is greatly appreciated!
