I am trying to add a dynamic condition to an automation to Find a record based on a value in my table. That value is based on a link to another table. I do not allow multiple values, so it should be a 1:many relationship. But the dynamic condition will not let me insert the value. It only shows the length, etc. assuming multiple values could exist in this field. Is there a workaround for this problem?

I have a field that is called Assigned to and it is a single select. It has for example 4 values. When a record is added, I want it to randomly select one of the 4 options and update the record.

Based on the size of my data, our team is going to have to separate it into multiple bases even on the Enterprise plan and we are considering doing that by state. For context, my team is brand new to Airtable and is still learning how to utilize it in our workflow. Part of our data is collecting registration responses and I’m curious as to if there’s a way for the records from a form response to automatically populate a field in the appropriate state base depending on the state that they submit in their form?

I have a base that is used for our CRM/tracking manufacturing orders. We have fields for Stage and Next Follow-up date. I need to be able to set the follow-up date differently depending on what the stage is set to. Here’s the basic info. One other item is we only want these dates set to workdays, no weekend dates. If Stage = Opportunity then set next follow-up date to today + 2 days If Stage = Specified then set next follow-up date to today + 25 days If Stage = Delayed then set next follow-up date to today + 180 days If Stage = Bidding then set next follow-up date to today + 2 days What is the best way to accomplish this? (btw, we are willing to pay to get this done :slightly_smiling_face: )

I have the “Dashboard” table with a list of all let’s say - “Loads”. Each “Load” has it’s own “Driver” that is in a separate field. I, also have an “Invoice” table, and in that table, I want to Invoice all “drivers” that had “loads” from the “Dashboard” table. So that means, I’ll need to have a certain range, because I want to invoice them weekly, and not by the load. So I ended up making “From Date” and “To Date” fields. So, my question is how can I make it when I choose “Driver” and mark my “From Date” and “To Date” fields that Airtable automatically import “Loads” that were, let’s say, driven between those dates for that exact driver? Hello, I am trying to see if I can do some higher level (and automated) KPI tracking using Airtable. See the following image: Here’s what I want to stop doing manually: Tracking per month “Job Completions”. For some background, I have the “Schedule” tab that contains what we call “Jobs”. These “Jobs” each have their own fields that have automated timestamps when they are started and completed, as well as other information about them. We list our jobs as numbers (ie 505, 525, 530, 541, 531, 538, in 1 above). To start with my KPI I hand-select the “Target Jobs” (see 1 above) from the Schedule that I would like to see completed in that month. Then (in 2 above), you can get the number of jobs targeted using a count field. Now, (in 3 above), I would like jobs that are actually completed within this specific month to be autofilled in the completed “lookup”

Hi Airtable community! I need your help please. I try to organize and keep track of monthly payments. Customers have contracts with monthly payments. Sometimes they do partial payments for the SAME Month. Sometimes they do not pay a month (!). I have tried a try-catch approach that whenever an option is not found in a single-select field due to typographical errors it will try to find a suitable option from the list of options in a single-select field. I have tested this approach in a scripting app and it works. I receive an email that our workspace has almost reached its limit for this month. However, when I look into the automation I created and summed up all its runs it is still far from the limit set. I was also wondering what automation takes up the bulk of the automation runs. Is there any way I can view it easily? Since I have to check each automation for each base to give an estimate.

Hello! I am working on a schedule/calendar with a lot of events and data. I would love to be able to use Airtable to schedule humans for different events. I started by using using a format where each event is a record with start/end times, location, and a linked record field to my contact database. However, the issue I ran into is that often humans don’t have the same hours as the event. For example, I might have party with 6 people working it. Some people can be there the whole time, sometimes they have conflicts, etc. Any brilliant ideas about how to link people to events, when their hours don’t always align perfectly? I’ve tried creating a third table for individual’s hours. So each record on this table has a linked field to the contact and to the schedule event. It also has an option to update hours which are displayed in a formula on the record name which combines the contacts name and the hours, so that in the schedule people are listed with their hours. Is there a way that i could link an external punch clock to an airtable base? I need to set up a system but don’t want to change the employees habit of punching in/out with the existing box. Any help/advise?

Hi, I’m trying to create an automation to update the status of a record from “scheduled” to “published” when the published date has passed. Does this need to be done using a formula? I can’t find a way to do it with “when a record matches conditions.” I’m scheduling posts on Hootsuite manually, so the only thing I want AirTable to do is change the status when the date has passed.

Looking for help on an AirTable Automation please! I have one table called Project Status, where I hand enter a Project Launch Date in one column and using a formula, calculate my Project Start Date in another column. I have a second table called Project Schedule, where (using an Automation trigger), I pull the Project Launch Date from the Project Status Table, but also need to pull the calculated Project Start Date into a Calendar (non-formula) field. The Project Launch Date pulls succesfully, but the Project Start Date will not. Any tips on how to make this happen? Thank you!

I have a table with store scorecards where a mystery shopper grades a retail location. They do this by looking at past camera footage. They enter the date/time of the footage they are using as a basis for the scorecard along with scorecard attributes. I have another table with clock in information for a manager to “clock” in and out of a location. In the scorecard table, is there a way I can pull the information of which manager was working at the date/time of the scorecard?

If I have a Multi-Select field that has many names of people who need to be included in communication, can I setup an Automation to see all those names and then use a Contacts table to pull the correct emails in to add in the To line for the email in the Automation? One thought I had is somehow to create a Contacts Table and then in the drop down I would show a Concatenate of the person’s name and an Employee ID. Then somehow use an automation to break out and fill a field with only the Employee ID. Then use that Employee ID in another automation that would fill the email addresses. Then somehow use that to fill in on the email automation. I don’t know if this is too complicated. I am not wanting to purchase anything else at this time from other programs. I am a Pro user in Airtable. Am I being too complicated with this? Is there a simpler way?

Hi all, I’m looking for a solution to an issue I’m having. Our business consists of running training courses and I have a client management base which contains an Organisations table, a table for individuals as well as a Courses table. What I’d like to do is be able to have the Participant field in Courses update with a name when I enter the Course History on the individuals record. Am I trying to solve a problem that can’t be fixed? Surely there’s a way to get the field to recognise that the Course Code has been entered in the Course History field in the People table. My hope is that I won’t have to enter each one manually every time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi beautiful Airtable’s community ! I have a problem with my work time sheet. I am looking to count paid time off as a normal work day I don’t want the employee to have to enter his days off one by one, so that they are counted in my total hours. (and be counted as paid time off) I think the solution is towards automation with a script and the function of Parent record in child record When a form is sending (with the name, and ID on employee) with “congés de fin d’année/christmas holiday” → a condition from 1 to 5 December → date So create/duplicated a record with same information BUT one by day of holiday. Hey everyone, I’m having an issue with a conditional automation. Everything appears to be triggering and working correctly when things happen slowly. However, I made a script that is meant to set the conditions for another trigger. It seems like this is happening too quickly, and the automation is only triggering once instead of a few times. The script affects the K1 Override? field. My organization has to run a random lottery for our kindergarten class, and that is what the script is doing. Whoever is selected, it writes in “Selected”, otherwise “Not Selected”.The Status field has a formula that notices this and updates accordingly. The automation is triggered by the Status field. Hi! With our team we use Airtable for a lot of useful practices and one of them is time tracking. My question is about how to trigger an automated message when a single person writes more than for example 10 hours on a customer in a certain month. My (un)logical idea start was. To sum the time per month in a formula column. But i have no clue what kind of formula I need. Does anybody has an idea? Many thanks in advance!

I’m trying to implement a conditional automation, but when I go to test, even though I know the input contains a specific string, the condition group for that string isn’t being met. I also have no option to manually change the input in the testing box as promised, screenshot below of that. Has anybody else run into issues with conditional automations like that? It looks like the input is empty but I re-tested the trigger right before this and I know the record should have matched the run condition for the group.

Hi, I have 2 tables: Actors (a database of actors sorted by gender [single select], min.age they can play and max. age they can play) Actors wanted (a database where directors can input the gender [single select] and age range they are looking for) I’m trying to run an automation where when a director enters what she/he is looking for, it filters for all qualifying actors and sends an email to all qualifying actors. Problem: the filter is showing an error. I’ve tried to only filter by age, only by gender but it always responds with an error like " Invalid filter on Min. Age". Any idea what I can do to make the filter work? Many thanks

Scratching my head over this one and suspect a bug. The inputConfig object in a script run from automations (assigned by input.config()) is not updating when I add/remove/update script input variables. It’s locked to old variables that I’ve since removed and will not update when I add new ones in the inputs to the left of the script. I even deleted the automation and created a new one and it still says the old variables are all that is in input.config(). Has anyone hit this? I haven’t tried duplicating my base yet but I might… edit: Walked away for a few minutes and now it works. :person_shrugging: bugginess confirmed

Hi, I have a simple form, where user should enter a few data on first visit, like date, company name, job description… So, how can I insert a certain value (eg. letter “a”) in one column w/o that the one who is inserting this data would even know. Description: Someone is inserting a job listing via form and obviously the opening is active (a), but latter on this would be closed (c), or postponed (p)… so first value, first time data is entered, should be “a”, but I don’t want that user would even bother with this (yes, could be a field with only one option to select… but as said, I don’t want user to bother with this)?
