Hello everybody, Quick introduction i’m a beginner in Airtable and Bubble io, i have a bubble io website where clients write down their invoice linked to airtable, my project is that when i click on a button on Bubble io, Bubble Io creates a new line in Airtable in a table called “invoices” with informations the client just typed and previous informations already in Airtable linked to the current mission. So here’s my issue : I use a workflow to create a new record in Airtable, i link the data with an External API (for the data i already have in airtable) but when i link the already existing data composed of formulas 'in airtable (for example : Data 1 & " - " &{Data 2}*) the constraint is red and it doesn’t work. When i initialized the Table in the Airtable plugin i specified that the formulas were a “text” data. In the example under this post, you can see a screenshot, the red circle represent the data with a formula which i want to put in my new line, i simply want to take t
Here is my need. I have a table of sessions with three columns: duration (one week, two weeks or more) , dependancy : link to another record in the same table start-date : date of the session. Duration is set manually. Dependancy is set manually or empty if session is the pivot. Start-date could be calculated if session is dependent of precedent session or set manually. What is the elegant way to implement the algorithm? Is it possible to use formula to do that or should I use automation? Thanks a lot for your help.
I have a complex base with about 16 tables. I am trying to figure out the best way to be able to set a reminder for a record in ANY of the tables easily. I want to be able to set the time & day of the reminder in a REMIND ME field in any record of any table and get notified by email when it is due. I was thinking I could create a REMINDER Table and link it to the other tables and then set a view in for Remind me is before (NOW) and then set an automation to send me an email whenever a record enters the view. What I am having a hard time with is how to link the tables properly. If someone can explain in detail how to do this with just 3 tables EVENTS, TASKS, & the REMINDER table, I can extrapolate the rest. Any help is appreciated.
Hi, I am working on setting up an automation with Microsoft Teams where a post is made in a channel when a record status changes. I’d like to be able to tag the person who submitted the record (they enter their email address into a column) so they can be notified when the status changes through teams. Is it possible? The email address entered into Airtable will match the account holder in Teams as they will all be company addresses.
I know they are not currently supported and it says “We do plan to support the lookup field in the near future.” and I know about the formula workaround. But I don’t want to add a bunch of extra field just to copy data. Dose anyone know when the support is scheduled to be implemented? I need this to plan my actions. I love the added automation ability and look forward to this helping making this tool even more useful. Thanks in advance.
I am currently writing an airtable automation for my organization that is trying to run a script on records that are a certain age (currently thinking week old records). In order to do so, I was thinking of using the “When a record matches condition” trigger, and using the When field on the Created date for the record, and checking if it is before one week ago. The main point I want to check on is if this is one week from the time when the automation runs, or if this is one week from the time the automation was made. Likewise, how often will this automation run?
I have a base where I track real estate leads as a realtor and potential investments. I have one table with the property specific information (SF, Unit count, # of bedrooms, baths, rent, etc) and a table that shows the contact information with a relationship between the two tables. It’s pretty time consuming to flip between the data source like Redfin to manually enter in the property information. Is there a way I can have a field where I can insert the link, and then the other columns automatically fill in the data based on info from websites like redfin/zillow?
Hey guys, I’ve just subscribed to Airtable Pro and i’m trying to set automations with “Run Script”. I’ve tried my first automations with a simple scripts as console.log(“test”) and let table = base.getTable(“Titular”); let query = await table.selectRecordsAsync(); console.log(query.records); But when a test it, it keeps getting “Test Failed”. I don’t know what to do in this case. Would appreciate if someone give me a clue. Thanks. Luis
My table has a column with a single image which I need to process via remove.bg (to remove background). I want the processed image to be loaded to a new column NEXT to the column with the original image. And I have many records in the table so I need the process to be automatic. AirTable automation doesn’t seem to offer way to deal with REMOVE.BG so I am trying to setup Zapier (haven’t tried Integromat yet, but that’s another option). Zapier flow works but the issue is, the flow doesn’t allow me to add the processed image in a new column next to the original image. I sent support request to Remove.BG but I don’t think this is an issue with Remove.BG. It’s a limitation with the AirTable ZAP in Zapier. To get it working in Zapier, the Zap flow has 3 parts. Part 1: When this happens … New Record in Airtable This is a trigger and it will start when a new record is added in my table. Of course the new record will have the image I want to process. The image will be in Column B. Column A i
I created an automation that triggers when any record is added to table A it automatically creates the same record in table B (within the same base). I’d like it to copy all the records already in that table so that the number of records in table A is always equal to the number of records in table B. It only copies NEW records though. Is that possible?
Good day I am looking to update a number of records using an automation. It worked, but only updated a single record. I am not sure how to get it to update all of the records that match the trigger.
When trying to turn on my animation (that is triggered by a google sheet entry) after a few seconds it switches itself off. Does anyone know why this might be?
Hello there, I’ve been using airtable to match candidate and job posting thanks to link field. Most of the time, one candidate fits many job posting, so the linked field contains multiple records in it. I would like to create a new record in a different table based on each of these linked record. Is there a way to do that without scripting in Airtable ?
Hi there! I was wondering if it possible to have a form that allows the user to attach a file (csv or xlsx) then using automation, take that attachment and populate the matching columns - as well as do any update. Basically would be the CSV Importer but instead of dropping a file, it would consider the values from the attachment. There is Spreadsheet importer: Airtable Scripting but not sure how to make it work. Thanks!
Is there a way to rerun a failed automation? The problem I’ve encountered is that Google Calendar sets a limit of how many invites it will allow you to send within a certain timeframe as a spam protection: https://support.google.com/a/answer/2905486?hl=en Lesson learned and won’t be going this route in the future. Because of that, some of my automations failed to run. I would like to rerun them during the pockets when Google unfreezes my calendar. But, I’m not seeing an option to rerun the automation. Here’s an example of what it looks like. Looking forward to your advice! Thanks!
How do I update a check box from an action, just stuck on the next step,
First of all - this kind of stinks. I probably have 30-40 zaps that are now using the “Airtable (Legacy)” app with no warning. I know it probably won’t change how anything functions, but it still makes me feel like I need to spend hours going through all my zaps and updating them. Second of all, I’m curious if there’s anything new and shiny with the new Airtable zapier integration, or if it’s just a change of the internals?
Hi, I’ve set up an automation to trigger from a row inserted into google sheets. In this sheet I have a column that is today’s date. It is formatted as a date column. I’m attempting to set a date field in Airtable based on this and it’s telling me it cannot insert a string into a date field. How do I set a date field to today’s date when creating a new row through automation please?
Hi all Situation: a) company has mechanics that need to check their tools every month. When something is broken or needs replenishing, they fill out a AT form. Input comes in a table. Tool and supplier are linked records. They want to send an auto email to the relevant supplier(s) after changing a status to “order”. b) company has a warehouse that is checked every so often. When a stock supply is needed, they scan the item, en add the quantity needed in AT. With some formulas calculating when an order is needed, they want an auto e-mail to the relevant supplier(s). Challenge: The AT part is no problem, but I don’t want to send out individual emails to the different suppliers. So I tried the “digest by Zapier” to collect all input and have only 1 digest send to the suppliers at the end of every week. The challenge is: how do I split up the digest per supplier? I could use “paths by Zapier” to first select every supplier and then do the digest, but every time a supplier changes, that see
I am creating an editorial calendar. I want to repeat content from year to year. What’s the best way to duplicate monthly content over into the next year? Thanks.
Anybody figured out how to update a specific cell when another cell changes? The trigger cell and the destination cell are both in different tables but same base. (Actually the same method scenario can be applied when the trigger cell and the destination cell are in the same base). The issue is the specific trigger cell can’t be defined in either the “When record is updated” trigger or in the “When record matches condition” trigger. The reason for it is that the Trigger can’t be specifically tied to a specific cell. Without defining what specific cell Trigger should watch, the Action “Update Record” will only fill in the value from the 1st record of the field that the Trigger watches. So while the Trigger field (in Table 1) changes, the target field (in Table 2) gets updated with the value from the 1st record of the Trigger field (from Table 1). What I would rather want is the value updated comes from the specific cell in Table 1 (Specific record ID of the field the trigger watches).
I just made an amazing discovery that is opening a world of possibilities with Airtable for me. Up until now, one of many ways that Airtable was and is different from Spreadsheet application is in the inability to reference specific fields (e.g. variables) and trigger changes across all records in multiple ways. Maybe this is nothing new and you all have long consider it normal, but I have to admin it is new discovery for me. Here is the requirement: I want to have a variable, which when I change, that variable will 1) replicate across all (***or only select) records in the table and 2) will modify values of many other fields in additional target fields in all records in the table. Normally this is easy in Excel but in Airtable it’s not as straightforward. The way I solved it is via: two additional tables (Table 1 and Table 2) two additional automations In the MAIN TABLE of my base I added a new field called TRIGGER Created new table in the same base called TABLE 1 In TABLE 1
I’m looking to use the suggested Mark Duplicate script within the scripting app. I copy and pasted the script, ensured I had the linked “Duplicate of” field made (or at least I think I made it properly  ) and yet I get the error: TypeError: Invalid arguments passed to recordQueryResult.getRecord(recordId): • recordId should be a string, not undefined at main on line 14 Click to see the script provided within the app // the table to check let table = base.getTable(“Feature requests”); // the record we’re searching for duplicates of. // we need to create a ‘recordId’ input variable connected to a record trigger let config = input.config(); let recordId = config.recordId; // the field to save duplicates in. this should be a self-linked record field let duplicatesField = table.getField(“Duplicate of”); // query the table and find our record according to its id: let query = await table.selectRecordsAsync(); let record = query.getRecord(recordId); // search for duplicates let fou
How can you send airtable updates to someone’s personal slack, pinging them instantly when they’ve been added as a collaborator. So far, all updates will be sent to a channel but not individual slacks.
Why, when creating automation, the test runs on the first line of the database? For example, if I created automation to send a letter, the first person in the database gets it every time if I make a change.
