I can’t update the collaborators field when creating a new record, I want to add collaborators by default. how can i do that?

Hi all, I’m creating a task management Airtable and want to be able to create periodic tasks. I think this can be achieved by Automations - using something like the ‘due date’ is passed or ‘complete’ is ticked as the trigger. It’s at this point I’m out of my depth as I think I then need to run script to copy the trigger record and add a new due date. Is anyone possibly able to help please? I would be prepared to pay someone if they want a little consultancy task to help me out. Many thanks!

I just created an Automation and turned it on but when I go back it shows that the automation is off and when I click on it it shows that its on and I can’t turn it on or off. Therefore I cannot delete the automation.

Hello- I’d like to create an automation when the latest record in a view was one week ago, I want to create a new record with a date one week later from the last record. How would I fill in the date slot in the automation to create these new records? Thank you!

Hi all Relative Airtable newbie here but hit my first real roadblock and hoping the community can help. I have a base with two tables linked via one field. For context, it’s an action figure DB. Cause that’s how I roll. :slightly_smiling_face: Table1: Figures Table2: Accessories Figures is linked to Accessories via 1 field that allows multiple entries. eg: 1 figure can have many accessories. Accessories are a seperate table as they have their own unique properties that don’t fit in the Figure table such as colour, type and picture. Each Figure record has a 100% Complete field that is a tick box. Each accessory has an Owned field, also a tick box. While you can tick each Accessory accordingly, I’m looking for a way to automate it such that when ticking Complete on a figure, it looks at all the linked records and flags them as Owned Is this possible? Hi there, I have a table, we’ll call it “Table A”, where I capture all of the medical history of a select population (it’s dogs, in case anyone was wondering). A dog’s complete medical work up happens over a series of appointments. So I have a second table (Table B) that keeps track of medical appointment requests and the services that were requested on an appointment basis. So quick recap, Table A = dog basis, Table B = individual appointment basis. There are several fields in Table A that we tract the dates which services were performed (so Rabies vaccination given 10/15/2020 for example). Since many services can be performed in a single appointment, I’d like to automate the population of the fields in Table A that correspond to appointments in Table B. But I also need the flexibility of being able to manually enter values into Table A (so look ups won’t work for me). I cannot figure out how to get my “Appointment Dates” in Table B to populate individual service date

I have an automation that runs a script when records are created. The script has two input variables: the record ID of the created record, and an array of IDs taken from an array field in the created record. When a record is created without an immediate value for the second input variable (the array) the script run fails with “Failed to construct the value for “Script input””. I suspect this is happening because the script input generator is trying to do array.IDs and the array is null because the field is empty. But the correct behavior (IMO) would be to simple give my script a null value for that input variable, rather than filling my logs with failed script runs. Anyone else seeing this? If so, how does one report bugs to the airtable team?

hi there i have an issue using the automation in airtable. I have 2 tables in one base What i want: when i create a new record in table 1 airtable automatically creates this records in table 2 with all selected fields (status, date, name…) all my fields in table 2 are populated with the step1/ table 1 fields my automation creates a new records row but all fields are empty. when i run the test to check my automation everything works fine same when i create a duplicate record from table 1 Is there a setting to change or something? thanks for your help

Hi! I am trying to create a base for upcoming, recurring bills. Currently I have a base that I have to manually adjust the due date for each bill every month. This also creates a problem where there is no record of the previous bills paid. I’m trying to set up an automation within airtable and possibly zapier that essentially auto creates a new bill record two weeks prior to the bill’s due date, and the due date cell is auto created for the future bill (which will be the same day every month). Can anyone help?

Hi, I have a synced table. In the destination base/table I have created additionally a single select field => this should represent the status of the record. Target: Change the created single choise, based on the condition that one of the synced fields has some specific text inside. => And this for each record. I set up an automation: Trigger: When a record matches conditions –> when “Synced_Field_in_Table” contains “xyz” Actions: Update Record –> RecordID => Record ID from step 1:Trigger Fields: “SingleChoiceField” Record(Step 1:Trigger)…Synced_Field_in_Table => Tests run successful & it did do it => But only for this one field. Whereas I wanted it to do it for all records matching that conditions (& there are quite few more). Is there a “loop” that can be triggered or something else I am missing. I would like to make

Anybody expert here with https://www.blendr.io/ ? I am wondering if there is a way to generate additional keywords based on seen keywords I have in AirTable. For example, I’d like to generate popular search keywords and phrases based on the seed keyword. It can be done on the Google AdWords website and they have an API. There is also an integration between AirTable and Blendr.IO so I wonder if it is possible. So basically, the input would come from AirTable field and it will go to Google AdWords and it will produce keywords and it will be then filled in AirTable again. I can’t get anything working and I don’t even think what I am doing is right. Maybe because I don’t have any Ad campain setup in my AdWords account? I don’t want to create a campaign, just want to generate keywords.

I know there is a bug when inserting a linked or lookup record in an outgoing mail (with the work around using an extra field with an ArrayJoin formula). But now I encounter such an error while trying to insert a value from a multiple select record (see attached screenshot). This results in an error, just saying that the message of the mail could not be constructed. Is this a bug or is there something special with a multiple select value? I don’t get it that in the screenshot it suggests ‘Making a new list of’, in stead of looking for the value of the chosen multiple select.

Hey coding wizards. My company is using Airtable forms to manage customer orders inside of a club. When a new customer fills out a form, there is an “Email Address” field as well as a “Confirm Email Address” field. After the form is completed, an Automation sends an order confirmation email to the customer with the mailto: address being the “Email Address” field. But occasionally a customer will mistype their email address which will result in an Automation failure, requiring me to send the order confirmation manually. Since Airtable has yet to implement verification fields, I just use the backup email address and hope it’s correct. I want a script that I can include into the automation that acts as an IF() statement. The logic being: IF email automation results in a failure (aka the email address does not exist), then repeat the automation using “Confirm Email Address” field. I feel like this could be a useful script for many service-driven workspaces in this c

How do I set an automation so that every new job is automatically labeled as a RUSH if it’s due date is less than 5 days away? I understand the logic would be: If First Pages Due date is less than 5 days from Date Created date, set Priority to RUSH. Else Set Priority to Normal The 2 fields I’m comparing are date fields First Pages Due and Date Created. I have a Priority field with 2 options: RUSH and Normal. Hey ATers. I’ve built some pretty cool stuff for our business in AT so far! One thing that I have noticed from time to time. We have an automation that produces a Slack message, and every so often, this Slack message fails with: Step failed. Failed to construct the value for “Message”. I have traced the issue with empty fields that are being referenced. The field types referenced here that are empty are: -Single select -Multi select Specifically, the message consists of: Right now the Tot. Units, Units of Measure, Crop Type are all blank. If I fill those in (not sure which is causing the fail at this point) then it will work. Why not simply resolve to a blank / empty string if either of those are empty? Instead of just crashing out? I’d still like to receive the Slack message even if some of those fields are left

Would like to use airtable automations, utilizing the Send Email action. I would like to know if there is a way to set up an automation where the trigger would watch one or more cells to see of certain conditions are met. If the condition/s are all false then I want an email to be sent once a day, every day until the conditions for the row that the trigger is watching becomes true, then the emails should stop. Basically creating a daily reminder to complete a task, with email reminders until the task is complete then the email reminders stop for that task.

Hiya, Apologies if this has been answered before - please do direct me to where if so! I’m in the early stages of scoping a project, for which I would need reminder emails sent automatically from Airtable according to a review date as set in the record. E.g if the review date is on “October 16 2021”, Airtable sends an email on that specific date. However, in looking at the automations, it doesn’t seem to have the functionality to set the “when” to a field - only rudimentary options for “today”, “tomorrow” “is before/after”, “is exact date…” etc. Am I missing something here, or is there indeed a way to set this functionality?
