I am trying to create an automation that will update a record. I want to add a linked record from one field (Field A) to a different field (Field b). Field A will have only one linked record in it. Field B allows multiple linked records. Right now, whenever i update the record with the info from Field A, it either overwrites everything that was in Field B or it creates a new linked record that merges the info that was in Field A with the info that was previously in Field B. Is it possible to automate this kind of update? thanks for any help! is this possible?

Hello My department is trying to decide whether to move forward with Airtable or not and the feasibility of the items below would help us decide. Is it possible to do the following in a native airtable form? If so, could someone please tell me the specific steps I should take? I’m currently using the trial version. Unfortunately I can’t use any third party integration but I can use the extensions currently offered within airtable.1/ Can Airtable auto populates fields whenever a selection is made in another field?I thought “link to another record” was it but apparently it isn’t.There are project IDs that the form submitter will choose from a drop-down that are linked to specific tasks, owner names and other values that need to be auto-populated whenever said project ID is selected 2/ Is there a way to create an automation between my form and main excel spreadsheet in Airtable

I have an expense base.It has two tables - All Expenses and Budget.The All Expenses table contains a form that is filled out by anyone submitting an expense. It will categorize based on program, sub-program, and category within that program.The Budget table contains every category of budget items. The overall program, then the hierarchy of sub-program and category within the program.The automation I created triggers upon the creation of a record in the All Expenses table via the form. It is set to find records that match in program, sub-program, and category. Once found, it will update the budget item record in the Budget Table. Images to make it easier to understand. When a record gets the single select category “Investment from private”, this automation triggers. This is synced directly from my business bank account every day. This is the record i want to update: Thought i had it covered with this automation: Buuuuut the automation overwrites the linked records instead of adding to the end of it. Is there any simpler way to deal with this? Do i have to use a script instead? This is for a client that deals with tons of transactions and i have to make a separate table categorizing cashflow.

HII'd like to update my current job submission form to collect extra details on certain projects.  I only want this new field to appear if Job Type "XYZ" is selected (I know how to do that part!)Part I need help with:I need the submitter to answer a few questions pertaining to the job. FolksI am getting this error now, after thousands of emails sent through several automations along the time, using only one email."Google reported an error while processing this action:You've temporarily hit Google's rate limit for sending emails."How can I prevent to get this error?What is the google limit?Will a professional google account prevent this from happening?I am trying to get these answers from the net, and nothing yet has showed up.Did someone already got one of these?Thanks in advance for the help

Hello! Please help 🙂 1. I have an "all expenses" tab where we input all of our event expenses. In this tab one of the columns is "event" where you select what event that expense is tied to. 2. We also have a "budget summary tab" that includes what was budgeted for each event as well as an "actuals" column next to it for each event. 3. I am trying to make everything entered in the "all expenses" tab populate the actuals column of the correct event in the budget summary tab. 

When editing an automation that uses the Find Records module, the "Test Action" function outputs the resulting records in a nice pop up table. How can I get this same functionality with the published interface/automation? If I don't add an output, then initiating the automation from the interface (in my case a button), yields a "Started" notice at the bottom left, but then nothing. I've been able to get the output to go generate a GoogleDoc, but this is cumbersome. I really just need to be able to Copy the text (and paste it into an existing email reply).

Hey guys,Trying to create a template that will be sent to a customer based on a records status. I want to create a button that gives the client receiving the email the opportunity to click "approve" which will then fill the field and give me the chance to create another automation based on the entry.When the email is sent, the button after "approve here" is not there. Is this possible? 

I recently created my first automation with conditional formatting. This is a great feature that I will be able to get a lot of use from, however, the only condition group in my automation that is working properly is the first one. The run history will show that the others have worked, but my team isn't getting Slack messages from the automations like they're supposed to.  How do I fix this? 

Hi I'm looking to create a way to delay an automation (The automation is that every time someone creates a ticket it will automatically create in their Outlook calendar a new appointment/reminder) the issue that I have is that if I put in a date that I would want for some reason it creates itself on the day it was created not the day that it's being scheduled for.Is there any way I can schedule to the day it was created to the scheduled date and not the date that was created? 

Hi all Airtablers, I was trying to connect a task from Apify to Airtable via Datafetcher. I did that in the first run a few weeks ago and it worked. Now i tried to schedule the task, but it gives the error below.  I checked the actor task and it's fine. not sure where is the issue. any help/advice is appreciated.  

I'm getting the error 'Field "Student" cannot accept the provided value: Cannot modify a computed field.'. The field "Student" ISN'T a computed field, though; it's a linked record field.What confuses me the most is that when I tested this automation it worked flawlessly, both in 'generate a preview' and 'run as configured' tests. It's only in live runs that it fails. Does anybody have any clues as to what's going on?

I am trying to create a script so it will give me a running total for a base view on certain columns. For example. My brokerage I want to make a top 5 in different categories on our interfase. From what I am seeing I can not add columbs up so I created views for each agent.
