I got the tables as follow: Table 1: Product Name, Product Category Table 2: Item Name, Product Name I would like the Product Name in Table 2 to link to Product Name in Table 1, with condition where the Product Category is A. Can I know how to set the condition for that?
I’m looking for guidance on how to best design this in Airtable. I’m building a base to track vehicles and their maintenance records. Each vehicle needs to have an inspection every X weeks, and ideally this should be a row in an inspection table in order to store the date it was done, any slippage, and upload relevant paperwork. What would be a good way to design this? I think I’ll probably need a Zapier or Integromat integration to run regularly to go through each asset and create the inspection rows with due dates of every X weeks. This to me seems a bit messy and presents more questions; how far in the future would you want to create planned inspections for? How often would you run the task? What would happen if a vehicle is added or deleted? Or if inspections need to be re-planned? Any advice would be appreciated.
I am using Airtable to keep a back log and then a new table within the base for each sprint. Has anyone used Airtable for sprints and are there any best practice? What is the best way to move a record from the backlog table to the current sprint?
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. I’ve been wracking my brain for the past week, trying to figure out how I can calculate my teams hours spent on a particular job type. I’ve imported our teams hours from our time tracking software via CSV file. Right now, I have the items grouped by Client > Project. I’ve filtered by “Project contains > web” Within is also how many hours were spent on that job. These groups are able to tell me the sum of all the hours, per group. What I need to know now, is how to calculate the average amount of time spent on a certain job type, for example, “web design”. Like I said, been trying this for quite a while, with no results. Any help is much appreciated.
First time I’ve used airtable. It;s the free version. I have 2 tables Customers Assets There is a common unique ID in both tables - so I assume I can use this to link them. However when I try and change the ID by customize field type to link to another record the other table isn’t an option. Thanks for any assistance Phil
I am going to be using Airtable for project management. I have currently populated my records by importing a CSV file (containing all current projects with their fields), but I am trying to plan ahead for when new records are added. Is there a way to IMPORT a single record into an existing table? Or can I only input things into a table manually once it’s been created?
Hello, I am the Office Manager of an apartment building with 100+ suites. I have been moving the company into the 21st Century with Airtable and eliminating some paper that is being used. However, I have multiple bases and some items are becoming redundant. I am wondering if it is possible to have one base that not only shows tenant information (phone number, name, suite number, parking, storage locker etc.) but also the condition of each unit and the renos that are being completed. In other words, I want to see a “portrait” view (big picture of everything) of the suites as well as a snap shot (brief glance of what suites have new flooring, which need complete renos when vacant, when was paint done, new installations of sinks / taps / tubs / toilets). My one base contains the tables for tenants and the snap shot, and I have another base (Facilities Management) for the big picture with maintenance and facilities tables. The facilities manager is great, especially for recording move
I’m noticing that when using Lookup fields to gather all the text from various related text fields, the output in the lookup field separates each of the resulting contents with a comma automatically. Here’s the situation: 1 - Contacts table contains a link to Interactions table. 2 - Each Interaction contains text meeting notes, which are concatenated in a separate field with the date of the meeting and a line break at the end. 3 - The Contacts table in turn has a lookup field which brings back all of those concatenated results, so that I can pull up a contact in gallery view and see something like this in their notes field: 2-22-2015: Met for first time at her office, talked about our basic services. , 4-18-2017: Met with her whole team to set up launch. So that comma in front of the 4 isn’t a type-o in this message; rather it’s the output I’m getting. Can I get that to go away?
Hi! I’m trying to get percentages to show in my pivot table but can’t seem to. The way my base works is that the rows are products and several products can be part of one Order Number. I have a field for statuses (Delivered, Shipped, Pending, Booked). What I need to see on my pivot table is the percentage of the order numbers that are Delivered, Shipped, Pending, etc. I think what I have to start with is create a field with a formula, then use that field for the pivot table column. But I’m not quite sure how to go about the formula field to begin with. Hope I can get some clarity on this! Thanks!
I’m just getting started creating linked Tables and tried using the Sales CRM example on the support page, but am unable to create a similar Table of linked fields. Here are two problems: The rows of names in the Primary field column are duplicated in the second column even as its header is correct. Instead of all of the corresponding rows from the linked Table grouped by the names in the Primary field, only a single row of linked cells is displayed.
When I delete the actual lookup field AFAIK the linked field by itself is doing what I need. My question is why am I generating this lookup field to begin with and can you delete/not generate it into the table to begin with?
I have 6 air table bases that are duplicated. I added a section to the base the 1st base with several new rows. Now I’d like to copy and paste the rows into the other 5 bases for our company classes. Can you tell me how to do this or point me towards a tutorial? thank you in advance
Hi I am a complete newbie. I was so pleased when I got by base looking and working exactly as I wanted. I started the base with a csv import from my website which shows the date as June 7 2020 as a single line text. I changed it to the friendly date 7 June 2020 and completely forgot about it. I carried on and created order renewal dates etc and was very pleased with the results. I then updated the table with another CSV from my website orders. It added the orders perfectly but has now knocked everything out of may date field and calendar completely. The problem, I am assuming is with the slight difference in the datetime format, I can’t undo the import and can’t change the date format to match. Please HELP!!! TIA Andy
HI, I have a crowdfunding campaign that just started. I need to track what’s happening with rewards—who gets one, did I send it, did I tell someone else to send it, what date sent. That part is easy to set up. The part that has me puzzled… The platform will allow me to download into an excel file each donation’s entire record, with 32 fields - many of them blank. Because I will be adding to the table every day, I don’t want to mess with that format, so I can easily cut and paste. So far I have called that table “Raw Data”. The primary column is “Time Pledged.” I’m unclear about how I get to having my rewards info in a useful way for me. Create another table and use a lookup to collect info about rewards from the Raw Data? Would I use “Time Pledged” as my primary column? Can I pull the info I want from the Raw Data using formulas? Or is it as simple as adding columns to Raw data for the info I want to track and build a view that lets me see only the data I need? Is that clear? Am I mi
Hi, How do I create an API from a EMR to Airtable? I am trying to create research database.
Hi ! I supposed it might be a Google Drive support question too but I wished to give it a try here first. I followed this example : https://www.onlinedatabase.expert/post/creating-qr---bar-codes-in-airtable-with-integromat in order to create QR codes, store them to Google Drive and upgrade attachment fields in my Airtable database. Everything is working fine except in Airtable where the attachment are not visible. The png file is correctly generated and stored in Google Drive. Here’s a screenshot of what I get in Airtable: Surprisingly, the download is working fine in Airtable. So there’s a link. For information, with the Google Drive API, I use Web Content Link as the URL to the image. Because the key in use in the tutorial doesn’t appear on my integration. Thanks for any help !
In the Project Tracker template is a field Subtasks. with a list of items and checkboxes. I’d like to create a subtask field from scratch. Unfortunately, it’s not clear, at least not to me, how to do that? Tia
Hi! I have a Base where we get new orders come through on one table. We then pick products to add tot the order afterwards, and do that in new fields to the right. Item 1 as a field, Item 2 as a field etc. I’m trying to work out how I can do a stock count on another table to keep tracking of how many of each product I’m allocating (so I dont run out!) But can’t work out how! I would normally just do a count function with a lookup of the product if I was in a normal spreadsheet but lost as to how to do it here! THanks!
Hi AirTable Community, Hoping someone can help me end the madness that is manual verification. Here’s the rundown. The first tab is a bulk import from Workday. Inside this tab is a view that shows users that are authorized to access a specific program based on job title and organizational unit. A second tab is a form where users can request access to the program through a site on our intranet. I want to be able to: When a user requests access, I would like the second table to look at the tab in the first table of authorized users and flag somehow in the second table that they are authorized. Is this possible?
I’ve read several posts asking for solutions to something similar to my requirement (below), but haven’t seemed to hit on the solution. I’m desperately hoping someone can either help me find it, come up with a great hack, or just confirm that there is currently no solution or workaround: PROBLEM: I would like to be able to dynamically filter the options shown in one linked record field based on the value in another linked record field in an individual entry. BASE STRUCTURE overview: Activities Table: records are entered for individual team ACTIVITIES (e.g. “write weekly email”) Products Table: Activities can be associated via linked record field with a number of different PRODUCTS Departments Table: Products AND Activities are both associated via linked record field with a set number of DEPARTMENTS. QUESTION: when I use the linked record field to identify which DEPARTMENT an activity belongs to, is there any way to DYNAMICALLY filter the PRODUCTS fields to show only those items that ha
I have installed the Advanced Search block. As there is (currently) no way to add keywords globally (to avoid having to have separate keywords in each table), I am experimenting with scrapping keywords altogether and rely on search. However, I cannot work out how to search for a phrase, for example ‘as a whole’. Any suggestions please? Also is it possible to confine search to a particular field? tia
I am brand new to AirTable. I’m trying to use it to replace an MS access CRM. The CRM is really simply, built of two tables, customers with a unique customer ID, and interactions which is linked back to customers by a customer ID. In MS Access, I have a form which has a dropdown/type field for me to start entering the customer’s last name, then choose from available first names, and it brings up their customer ID, and relvant details from the customer table, It also then populates a small table with all of the notes and dates from previous interactions. Ihave the tables loaded and linked, but I can’t seem to recreate the customer details + interactions view. If I click on the customer ID within the customer table, I can see a list of the calls, but I can’t find out how to tell it to just show the dates and notes from that table for that customer. Thoughts?
What really makes Airtable different from Excel and other spreadsheets? Is it worth the higher cost?
Hi, interested new user here. I’m a Freelancer, and I already have over a thousand records from quotes that I’ve fulfilled in the past, but I don’t want to upload each one again on Airtable. Is there a way I can upload this information more easily/ quickly? Or would it still need to be done manually? Also, the most time consuming part of my work is managing my projects (general workflow listed below). Do you know if it’s possible to make my workflow below more efficient on Airtable? A potential client/customer has to fill out a form on my website, and I automatically receive an email with the information they filled out. I then take all the information from their email, and enter it into my spreadsheet. After that, I figure out what the estimated cost will be based on the service tier that they chose. Next, I put all of the information together for the quote and copy it over to a template I’ve already set up in Microsoft Word. Lastly, I save the template as a PDF once it’s ready, and
I am putting different decimals accurate no. to my table, but I just want them to show in 2 decimals. Like in pop. column, I put 1.459868 and 1.84390809. I want them to show as 2 decimals but keep the original. So in one day I still can convert back to the originals. How to do that? Nelson
