I have two tables in a base. One table is the main profile for a candidate. The profile is generated and their resume is added as an attachment. In the second table, the registered candidate is added with answers to position-specific questions along with an additional resume, as they may adjust their general resume for a specific position. I would like to have a way to reference in the main profile table ALL of the attachments both to the main profile + the job application. I can lookup the attachments, but I need some type of date and time stamp for each attachment so the recruiter can see all versions of their resume in one place. I have tried zapier, but attaching the resume from the job application to the main profile clears out the main profile attachment. Rollup is OK, but it doesn’t have date and time stamps, it’s just a glorified lookup field without the benefit of the rendering of the attachment. Thoughts?
Hi All, Hope you are well :slightly_smiling_face: So, I’m driving a single webpage through AirTable and now the client wants to control the whole through AirTable because it’s really quite good. I have a few problems and it’s mainly centered around the strength of AirTable being also it’s weakness: It is so easy to update, that it’s also easy to make mistakes without knowing … is there any way to easily show what changes have been made? It’s LIVE data. I am wondering how to make some sort of staging area, where a marketing guy can test out and see changes to the website BEFORE pushing the changes live to the website. I don’t understand how to do the caching because I will easily hit the API limit per second Has anyone integrated AirTable to their website and fixed these issues i.e. having some sort of staging area, and how to cache the results?
Eg. If row1 is subordinate of row2, then row2 should be auto-detected as manager of row2 How can we do that? When linking 2 different tables, the columns are automatically created by Airtable, but not when linking in the same table Even in the relationship article (" A beginner’s guide to many-to-many relationships), Airtable shows the Manager/Subordinate relations, with both side: not sure if they made 2 independent columns (annoying) or have a way to automate based on the other column . Any tip?
Continuing the discussion from Did Microsoft copy Airtable?: oh boy … this is the perfect copy - https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-365-blog/announcing-microsoft-lists-your-smart-information-tracking-app/ba-p/1372233 Just wondering… should Airtable be happy with that? or not? I guess it is a good thing for you to be copied, no? What are your thoughts?
Hi, we just set up our TV channel and were looking at airtable. Is it at all possible to plan and schedule our programming and catalog and manage our videos within Airtable? Feeling a little lost and overwhelmed.
New to Airtable of course, trying to understand how to structure a base to track my exercise class payments by student. In a spreadsheet, the data looks like this: I understand this will be at least two linked tables: a student table and a class table. The intended usage is that on any given date & time I will be giving one of two or more different classes, and after each class, I will want to enter payments from each student who attended, the amount each paid & payment method used. How is this structured? How many tables are actually necessary? How many Junction Tables? Would a form be necessary for entering the student payments after each class? This seems like such a simple use, but I can’t find any equivalent tables to use as an example to set up my own. Any help is appreciated, thank you. Nick
I just installed the android app on my new tablet and it’s unacceptably changed. On my old tablet, when I opened a record in my recipes base, it showed all of the ingredients (they are in a linked table). Now it shows a few records in what appears to be a window that you have to scroll to see all of the records. And it’s way too easy to move out of that window into the main record and wind up scrolling it instead. This is totally unacceptable. I want/need to turn this off so the whole list of linked records shows. I’m trying to use this as a cookbook and this type of display is not usable, especially when your fingers are covered in food from cooking. This change has made an already problematic app even worse. If I could use the browser on my tablet to work in Airtable, I would be much happier.
How do I create a progress bar to display as a block? Thanks.
Hi there We use FreshDesk for our support requests. When a support request is closed the FreshDesk ID is put into an AirTable base that has all our customers and their organisations and their purchases, so that we are able to see their full history when we have contact with them. I want to be able to close a ticket in FreshDesk and trigger via Zapier the creation of a new record in the contact and sales AirTable base. The contact and sales AirTable base has three tables related to contacts: Contacts, Organisation (there are sometimes more than one contact for an organisation) and Contact Interaction (where dated interactions are kept for Contacts). I want to be able to link each close FreshDesk Ticket ID with the appropriate contact, either creating a new contact and then a new interaction for that contact, or creating a new interaction if that contact already exists. I’m not sure how to do this. I’ve been working with views, thinking I could build a zap that writes anything new in a v
Hi there! I am wanting to have a view in my To-Do list table that groups tasks by time they are overdue. So, I would like the groupings to be: Overdue less than a week Overdue between 1-2 weeks Over 2 weeks overdue I am thinking that I need to have a formula that calculates the total time that the date is “overdue”, and maybe use an IF formula to then classify the times, and then outputting a “category” (e.g. 1 week) that I can then group by. Am I going in the right direction? Has this kind of thing been addressed before? I have searched and could not find anything directly related to this.
Hi everyone, I’m new to Airtable. I wonder if anyone can please tell me how I can reorder the fields in this view please? (see attached image) I’m sure it must be very easy but I just can’t seem to figure it out. Thank you!
Hi everyone, hopefully this is posted in the right category, I had a hard time finding a better fit. Let me know if its not though, and I can move/delete the post. I was hoping to get some feedback on whether or not Airtable might be a good fit for our start-up. Parts of this may be vague, as I can’t get into specifics, but hopefully I am still able to convey our concerns/needs. We are a company that sells a hardware/software bundle to larger companies to be used for collecting and storing text data (imagine we sell a barcode scanner that collects data about various barcodes). Currently, the hardware uploads the “barcode” entries into an excel sheet that is accessible via the hardware/software bundle (it comes with a small tablet like device that can access the excel sheet). We are looking to transition into storing each of our client companies’ data on separate cloud databases. We are considering using Airtable to host the cloud database, but had a concern about the pricing: I am awar
Hi I’m trying to upload a large number of PDFs as attachments while creating new records. I have 100~ named folders with 1-3 PDFs each inside them. I am attempting to use the gallery view to upload all of the file folders simultaneously and create a new record for each folder that will have a Name text primary field that corresponds to each file folder as well as the PDFs within those folders automatically linked in the record’s attachment field. Should I use a script to do this? Is there an upload functionality that already does this? What is the best way to go about this process? I have these file folders stored on both an online server and stored locally if that gives me more options on solving the problem. Thanks
We use tables to add tasks we’re working on. Since different departments need different information, we use different tables for those departments so they have their own tailored table. One thing they all have in common is a “Time Estimation” field. In my main table, where we gather our projects, we link out to those task tables. Project 1 – Design Department Tasks – Programming Tasks – Animation Tasks In the project table I’d now like to have a summary of all time estimations for a project from all different departments. Currently it’s a bit of a hassle as I have to create a lookup or rollup field for every table and then add another field with a formula to calculate them together. This only clutters my project table. I’d like to skip one step and have a formula field that can directly access the other tables: {design department.time estimation}+{programming department.time estimation} This would de-clutter a lot of tables for us. Is there anything like this on the horizon? Cheers C
I’m new at airtable, but not at PowerBI. I set a request in PBI to get all the data produced by someone in our company. When I download the csv from airtable I got all the lines but when I connect to the API, I can only read 147 line… Someone can explain that ?
I run an creative agency that contracts several freelancers at any given moment. Currently, we have an Airtable base for managing the recruitment and onboarding pipeline for the freelancers. We’d also like to start managing the invoices from the freelancers through Airtable as well. At the moment, it’s a massive headache collecting bank account information and parsing individual invoices as everyone formats their information differently. We’re hoping there’s an opportunity here to use Airtable forms to collect the data, link it to the existing records, and then output neat, consistent looking invoices using the page designer block. Problem is, the primary field in the ‘Freelancer’ base are the names of every freelancer we work with, and that’s sensitive information we can’t show externally. We thought about changing the primary field in the base to a sequential number ID, but that seems like it would create problems of its own. So the question is, how can we get freelancers to enter th
Hi, I have been trying to develop conditional logic on my base. Ex: I have different category and each category have sub category. I want that when I select a category, the net field only shows option in that sub category. Once category 1 is selected in category 1.1, category 1.2… available in the next field. If category 2 is selected in category 2.1, category 2.2… available in the next field. And so on… Please let me know how I could do that. I thought that the conditional lookup, roll up and counts new feature would help but it doesn’t. Looking forward for your support.
I am trying to create a way to tag three different fields to a set of categories. And from one field I want to know the other two fields that relate to it based on the same categories they belong to. For example, the categories are Energy, Water, and Animals. The three fields are videos, projects, and lessons. I tag the videos with the categories (more than one). I also do the same with the projects and lessons - to the same categories. Then for each video, I want to know all the projects and lessons associated with it based on the common categories. Please help.
I am attempting to create multiple organization charts / “relationship maps” for all of my vendors (on a separate table). Right now the way the block is set up, it thinks that all of the rows belong to the same organization. However, as you’ll see I’ve linked the Vendor name to a different tab because there are multiple vendors that will each need their own relationship map. In the example I’ve shown, I’d like to have 1 organizational chart for Example - Dunder Mifflin and another for Wonka’s Chocolates. Is that possible without creating a new tab for each Vendor?
Respected Everyone, I already complete kodular apps,The kodular Apps category was first seen from the airtable, but the category is no longer visible.I have tried a lot but can’t solve this problem… Please anyone help me??
Hi I have been trying to update my recipes into the food costing calculator. so far have done the ingredients list - but i have hit a problem. when i enter more than one recipe that has the same ingredient - eg an onion - it changes the ingredient amount in the ingredients list. that would be fine if i only used onion in one recipe - but it is in many recipes at different quantities. maybe i have not set the ingredients list up correctly? or may be i need to be able to have the recipe card multiply a single unit of the ingredient eg 1 gram or ml so that it works? any hints how to use this food calculator would be greatly appreciated. Judy
Hello, I’m looking to set up a base to keep track of value of some KPIs across multiple offices/locations over time. I would like to have office level indicators table project level indicators table (with multiple projects per office possible) ability to see at a glance the current (latest entered) values for each indicator ability to see how each indicator per office/project evolved over time I am currently achieving this by having a month column in the project table, which one record per office-month. The project level table references the calculated office-month field and has one record per project-office-month. Is there a cleaner, more efficient way of achieving this? Particularly useful would be some way of not requiring to enter all the data each month over again, but only update values that have changed.
I need to create a customer number that includes the year, and an accruing customer number. E.g. 2020-0001, 2020-0002, etc. The thing is, every year, the year has to change in the customer number, and the four numbers after it have to reset. So if the last number of 2020 is 2020-1234, the first number of 2021 will be 2021-0001 again. I can get the year from the Created Time field The problem is the numbers after the year… I figure I can’t use an autonumber because it won’t reset each year. I’m stuck on this part, and would appreciate any direction. Thanks!
I created a scheduling system in airtable where people can sign up for scheduled slots through a form. One table has the slots that are available, call this A. Another slot has the actual schedule where people can sign up for slots, call it B. When a person signs up for a slot, they pick their team which is referenced from another table, call it C. So, table A will link to a schedule entry B which will link to a team C. Is it possible to also link table A, the actual slots directly to the team C once the team has signed up?
I am trying to embed a table on my Wordpress site and have some questions Is it possible to remove the “download csv option”? I don’t want users to be able to download the entire table but I want them to be able to copy and paste information from that table. I have a column of images but it’s just showing a link to that image, I want the actual image to show in the table. Is this possible?
