I have a base that has all of our employees (~200) in a people tab. Every month our finance department sends me an updated Excel with everyone that months actuals in terms of employees. Given the number I would like to be able to CSV import this file and then be able to update the people, as well identify who is no longer on the list - and who is new to the list. Additionally, it would be helpful to be able to use this information in the extensions/interfaces to show charts on the over month-to-month headcount change.I think I will need to have some record indicator for each person that the records can align to but every idea I have had so far seems overly complicated.
Hi, I want to know if:1) Are there are any extensions that would help me with the ability to see the 'saved' information on the lengthy forms started by my customers but not submitted yet?2) Can one customer start multiple forms and save and come back to complete the form at a later time? Example: Adding multiple employees information one at a time by filling up a form for each employee. Thanks!
I see that lookup fields now have an option to limit the data shown, but it seems very limited to only showing you the data associated with first or last record linked? Is there any way to limit to unique selections only but retain the color labels? We use color on single select to indicate different things like status and priority. So while i can use a Rollup Array Unique, that loses all color and becomes a comma separated list. And no, i do not want to make a special automation to then copy said results to a new field showing the results, as this is excessive and not 100% reliable when there is automation errors or server errors, etc.Would love if Rollup field could retain color on the unique array, OR lookup fields to offer more flexibility to show the unique selections.
Our team ran into what seems to be a pretty annoying bug with the timeline view. After a while if you keep on scrolling up/down, eventually the sidebar where it shows how things are grouped by completely disappears. To me this feels like a bug where whatever is suppose to trigger redrawing it hasn't been fired. To fix it you have to scroll again to force it to redraw, though sometimes it also still disappears. Another way to force it to redraw is to resize the splitter.I managed to replicate it in a new Base with a very simple table (see attached gif). Although it doesn't look so bad in this example, in our actual Base this can be incredibly frustrating as it's happening frequently enough, hurting Airtable's ux.
Hi everyone,I am no Airtable expert or whatsoever so I am really struggling here....I used to have a team that produced social media post content for my FB and IG pages. I have access to the Bases they created because I used to review the content before they scheduled it. I am no longer working with them but would love to reuse all the content they had crated for me (since i paid for it) so I tried adjusting the posting dates on the different entries but nothing is being posted to my pages.....can anyone help? I suspect they may have done something on their end to sort of disconnect Airtable from my social media accounts and that is why it is not posting but I really don't know. Airtable customer service won't help so here I am hoping somebody knows what I am talking about! Thanks a lot in advance!Jean T.
I have a 'Last Modified By' field in my table that has a user object. I have another field that says 'Last Modified By (Name)'. It needs to be populated with only the name of the user. Is there a formula to retrieve only the 'name' from the Last Modified by object?
Hi all,I am wondering if there is an easier way to create similar tables. So, each column is the same and works the same.I can duplicate the table, but what I am looking for is more like a template.I have to do 106 tables, and it just seems like I am doing it the wrong way. They are budgets that get pulled into an interface. Thanks,
Hi all,I find myself working on things a lot as I understand Airtable.I am trying to do a budget spending, and I have multiple school locations showing the month-to-date spending.I then wanted a table which shows all the schools. The issue is I can only link one table.I want to be able to link to multiple. So I can have all the budgets in one view. Thanks,Judd
I am looking for a developer who can help me set up and automate my real estate business on Airtable and integrate it with my facebook page
Hoping someone can help figure out the best way to set this up.We have students taking various assessments that range in length from apron 20 - 100 questions. The assessments feed into a table with the submission ID as the primary record field, and then all of there responses as individual fields associated with that record (columns.). Some of the info collected is demographic, some is self-reflection (no single correct answer), and some is multiple choice or short answer, for which there are correct answers.I'm hoping to set up a separate table for scoring. It would references a student's response, compare it to the correct answer (which could also be a record in the student answer table, or preferably, a separate "question key" table), and record 0 or 1. We would then have separate fields that would tabulate the raw scores for each section and covert them accordingly. In an ideal world, we'd then also figure out how to power generating individual score reports w
Hi, this notification is showing on my form embedded on my website - "Starting January 31, 2024, Facebook and Web Search will no longer be available as options to upload attachments." (see attached image)Does it mean that users will not be able to upload files when filling out the form? Is there any way I can modify it so users can continue to upload files when needed? Thank you!
Hello everyone,I have an interesting problem that I would love your input on.What you’re looking at here is a database for a comedy club. The idea behind this specific database is to look into the different events done and to be done. A part of the fields is the date, location, show type, role of artist, and artist. Each event (with specific date) has multiple artists with different roles, I am currently adding multiple records per event in order to separate the artists roles and get a count of each artist’s role in each show type through a related database as seen belowIs there a way to add 1 record per event and add as many artists to this specific event while picking a role for each artist which would then give me an accurate count?
I have spent a HUGE amount of time on semi-functional base design. However, I keep making iterative mistakes. The relational databases is, of course, the big appeal in airtable. But I keep making mistakes with flow through consequences, and kind of need to rebuild our bases from the start. There are many convoluted connections in this base design, and I am looking for advice on a framework for knowing how to rebuild without making the same mistakes? A lot of these issues come from "learning by doing," which has created a vast amount of data that isn't very easy for us to use (or input)!I had a look at the beginner articles on airtable again, but they don't really seem to cover relational database design at a first principles level.
Hi, I’m really enjoying Airtable. First some context, I’m an individual user using Airtable to keep track of various aspects of my life and I am only on the free plan. Onto my question. I have a base that I use to record recipes and use as a meal planner. I would like to be able to generate a shopping list from the recipes marked as going to be used in the next week. In my main table Recipe, are obviously the recipes. I’m using 2 linked fields to two different tables: one for ingredients and one for when the recipe will be used (as that’s the way I found to show multiple dates for one recipe). In the usage table I have a view that shows me the recipes for the next week. I cannot however wrap my head on how I should go to create a view (in any of the tables) that says “show Ingredients matching Recipes where Used date is within the next 7 days”.
Hi I hope someone can help, I am new to Airtable and have a project for a customer and wondered the best way round creating the solution. My customer is wanting to create a list of blocks that when exported as a CSV will create a shopping list for the actual ordering of the material. For example, they could have a number of orders per week for different products and they then need to create a list of all the parts to purchase. My initial idea was to create drop-down lists of the options across all their products and then my customer as they get orders will select the part and the number required for each part, but there could be a number of sections to the list on each order line so could have multiple of the same items (let’s use different screw sizes as an example) My other thought was, as I am new I don’t know if this is possible, they create somewhere all the parts for each product and then when they get an order, they select the product against the order and it auto-populates with
Every day, a pizza shop offers a different specialty slice pie of the day, which I have listed on Airtables. The chat bot platform I'm using now is bad at telling time, so when someone starts using the chatbot, I would like to make an API call to my base to see(1) what time it is and if the pizza shop is open; (2) if the pizza shop is serving slices [which serves between 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.]; and(3) What specialty slice pie of the day they're serving?I'm a newbie, but I don't mind doing research. If you can just give me a general direction, I would greatly appreciate it. thank you
Hey All!I need some help! I'm relatively new to Airtable and currently diving into setting up an inventory/project management system for my team. Our approach involves utilizing Airtable as a combined solution for both project and inventory management. Here's a quick rundown: We've established a "project-specific" base to monitor products that need to be ordered, received, and delivered for each project each product has up to 750 items to keep track of. Simultaneously, we maintain an inventory base to keep track of surplus inventory and items that have been received for a project. For instance, if we need 3 units of product A for a project but have 2 in surplus, we only order 1 for that project. Now, I'm facing a challenge. We want to mark products as received in the project base and have our inventory base automatically update when we receive products. Essentially, if we order 1 unit of product A, I'd like to mark it as received in the project base and have our inventory base reflect th
Hello,Is there a way to have two-way cross-references between entries in the same table? For example, there is a table [Companies]. Each entry, a company, can have clients and suppliers. If a company has clients, it means that those clients have at least one supplier - the company. I'd love to be able to connect entries so that when I assign clients, those entries automatically get updated with supplier info—and vice versa.Another example is Investors/Funds and Portfolio companies. I want to be able to add portfolio companies to a Fund and automatically have this Fund added as an investor to all its portfolio companies.Such two-way cross-reference works fine if I have several tables, for example, [Investors] and [Companies]. Airtable shows all the investors associated with a company and all the portfolio companies associated with an investor. However, I am looking for a solution to keep all the companies (portfolio companies, investment funds, clients, suppliers, etc) in the same table.&
I have 3 tables in a gsheet - Meals, Dishes and Ingredients with a one to many parent-child relationship through IDs - meal ID, dish ID and ingredient ID.Is it possible to upload this data along with the relationships or I need to establish the relationships in airtable again manually? If it is possible, kindly also explain how? Thanks a lot. Grateful to the community.
Hi,My airtable gets slower and slower each day. Last night I couldn't get data from a look-up field from another connected table. The main data which I have is about 800 hotels (with 6 pictures each max 1 MG) and 200 attractions 2 images each. (In total I guess less than 4 GB images in 2 tables)I tried also for browser (Safari) hard refresh, but it didn't work (I checked it on another PC same problem).Any advice?
This list sorts correctly:why is 'b' coming after 'c' in this list (same table and list view)The remaining items in the list sort correctly.Any clues?
Hi community, I'm wondering whether syncing attachments from one base to another will take up space in both or only accounts for the origin base? Is it the same of data library sets? Thanks!
Is there a way to make a timeline's summary bar display different values over a given object's duration? I'm trying to make a map of the effort levels for various projects to forecast my team's workload at a given time (not using utilization because I'm assigning to users instead of a user-entity table). Each item on the timeline is a project, happening from a start date to an end date, with an effort level associated with it. The timeline is grouped by the user assigned to the project, and I've set up the summary bar to sum the effort levels so I can see how much total workload a team member has. However, the projects don't actually take the same amount of effort the whole way through - the second half of the project is a lot easier, so having the same effort value throughout the project's duration makes it look like the 2nd half is harder than it actually is. I'd like to program the summary bar to do something like "first half of project = full effort value, 2nd half of project
I’d like to link a record in one workspace table to a record in another workspace table. Is this possible?
I’m currently facing a challenge with syncing publish dates across different Airtable tables and bases and am looking for some guidance or a potential workaround. Here's a breakdown of my workflow:- I have two Airtable bases: "Marketing Campaigns" and "Content Marketing"; Campaign Managers work out of the "Marketing Campaigns", the content team works out of "Content Marketing"- When a Campaign Manager adds a new campaign that includes "Blog" as one of their tactics, that "Blog" record is added to a view in "Marketing Campaigns" called "Blogs in Development"- The "Blogs in Development" view in the "Marketing Campaigns" base is the source, and syncs to a "Blogs in Development table in the "Content Marketing" base - These records are then automatically added to another table called "Content in Progress" through an automation; this "Content in Progress" table is the content team's workflow/project tracker for all things content marketing- I don't sync directly to the "Content in Progre
