Base Design

Hi folks, appreciate any help you are able to give here....  I have a base where the users enter pricing information from suppliers.  Sometimes the pricing is given to the users including tax and sometimes excluding tax.  At present all data is entered excluding tax forcing a manual calculation which is clunky.  I would like to have an either/or useability whereby the price ex tax cell is locked for input if the price inc tax cell is entered and vice versa... is this possible?Thank you 🙏 

You guys have been so helpful in the past, I'm hoping you can help jog my brain once again!Scenario:  Organization that wants to track membership recruitment efforts with something like a CRM funnel.  They will need multiple funnel / pipeline scenarios, each with its own set of steps.  Each step will need it's own metrics for tracking results.  For instance, if one step in the funnel is inviting new contacts to join a facebook group, the metric they would track is whether the new contact did, in fact, join the fb group.  So the metric will change for each step of the funnel.  Some of the steps may be common to multiple funnels.Each funnel can have multiple people in it simultaneously, spread across the funnel's varying steps.In addition, people could (potentially) be in multiple funnels simultaneously.Oy.Anyone have thoughts as to how to structure the base?  I'm struggling to wrap my brain around so many relations

Is it possible to have an input Mask in the tables / forms? I want a field to be displayed in the format S0123, or another field to be displayed as 4 digits such as 0025 (not simply 25). Thanks in advance all.

I wish to add files to records from Google Drive.I thought Airtable's Attachment field had no native integration for this - but, actually, when I open the "Add an attachment" window, I see a range of files services including GDrive, with which I can authenticate (what's going on?)...However, there is also a problem...Whilst the subsequent file browser shows my GDrive files which I own, it does not show files shared with me to which I have access. While shared folders are visible, their file contents are not available to select.This is in contrast to Monday.com. In that, I notice that shared-with-me files are available to add just fine.Is there any way to enable this, please?

I am trying to recreate a page designer extension on a new table within my base. When I switch the tab over and go to edit the page, the image field is not loading. I am copying the image url with the attachment uploaded and receive the message in the screenshot below. Is this functioning correctly or am I doing something wrong?  

Hey,I recently came to the conclusion that many of my existing spreadsheets would actually make much more sense if they'd become databases. So I started playing around with designing some of those, and while majority was smooth, my gym workouts became a big challange for me.First of all, I struggle with design correctly the base. I had a couple of different approaches I've tried, and everything seemed to be overly-complicated. The problem is, whenever I get somewhere, all I have in my head is a possibility to export this base in a fairly simple format, which I could take and send to my trainer (I do it weekly). I've attached a screenshot of my existing plan in Google Sheet. I'd love to generate something similar in Airtable. I'd appreciate any kind of brainstorming 🙏

I'm a new user.When I make a Kanban board, and click on an individual task (a row in the grid view), then it opens this in a separate window that overlays everything else. What is this separate window called?Is there a way to do this from the grid view, so that I can click on an individual row, have a window pop up with all of the fields just for the row?Thanks

Hey Everyone!I'm hoping you can help me out with a tricky one. We currently use a check-in system (VisitU for those that care) to keep track of when/why people use our space. I then take that data, dump it into airtable on a weekly basis and it does a bunch of cool analytic stuff already.Now for my ask. It records a time in field (with an exact time like 15:57) but that is linked to a date field. I was tasked to figure out if being open past 6 is worth it on Monday's and Wednesday's. Figured out how to seperate the day of the week (using DATETIME_FORMAT(timeIn, 'ddd')) but now I want to give me a list of those who checked-in after 6 that I can then use the two field (Day Name and Time In After 6) to tell me how many people used our space. Make sense? Any ideas on how I could separate that time field?

I am writing to seek assistance regarding a record limit issue that my organization is currently facing with our Pro plan. Yesterday, our base had a total of 13,000 records, well within the 50,000 records limit of our Pro plan. However, I imported an Excel sheet with an additional 44,000 records to test a formula. Subsequently, I deleted the table containing the 44,000 records, expecting the record count to revert to 13,000. Unfortunately, despite the deletion, it still shows that we are over the limit. I have already tried emptying the trash, but the record count remains unchanged. Any advice and assistance is greatly appreciated Thank you in advance.

Hello im working on linking two tables in a base that we use for asset tracking. One table is MOV 24 (movement records) and the other is ASSETS 24 (asset records). In the Movement table (which has a forum to generate movement records), there are multiple Lookup fields that can only look into specific views of ASSETS. For example the radio assets are all assigned an asset number {ASS-ID} in the asset table. In the MOV forum there is a pathway to record the intake of an item from the radio vendor. When recording the MOVement there is a field for Serial Number. I have successfully created a Rollup that is taking the serial number from golf cart intake movement records, but when i try to duplicate the same process for the radio records i am not seeing any information roll up. Hi, I am new to Airtable. Just learning to use the calendar view. Instead of being able to view the contents of relevant records in the calendar, I can only see the numbers of relevant records in the calendar and I need to click each date to see the details of the records.How should I set up to view the details directly in the calendar?

Hi folks,I'm looking for ideas on base design(s) for chemical formulations. I've taken one stab at this where I hardcoded some columns, but that fell apart pretty fast. I'm hoping some Airtable creatives have ideas. Here's the general problem:An ingredient inventory has some number of ingredients A, B, C, D, E, F... etc and can have an arbitrarily large number of entriesA formulation has some number of ingredients (an arbitrary subset of the ingredient inventory, so maybe B, C, F as a random example) and a defined amount of each included ingredient (xB, xC, xF). That amount could be a fraction or a mass in most casesSimple case: how do I deal with a formulation having arbitrary composition of ingredients?More complex case: How do I deal with the above, but ingredient inventory can also include formulations (so it's getting recursive)?Any ideas are most appreciated!Regards,Scott

I uploaded a bunch of portrait character wardrobe photos but they all flipped landscape. Sucks, but I can’t even figure out how to flip them one by one once in - or even how to reload and ensure it doesn’t happen again. This is the first time this has ever happened - it’s never happened on headshots or location photos. Is there a setting I need to set in the table? Or can I rotate or edit a photo once uploaded? I know Airtable is more of a storage device, not photo editing - but this is not the way I uploaded them originally. Thank you!

Is it possible to get AirTable to generate X number of records in a table? Example: Table: Batch Col: Date Col: Batch Number Col: # of Units Produced Table: Units Col: Batch Number Col: Serial Number I’d like to create a record in Batch table, and if I say 10 units were produced in that batch, then automatically 10 NEW records appear in Units table (all of them linked to their batch in the Batch table) and all of them assigned automatically a sequential number (starting number would be MAX of whatever serial number is already in tab from PREVIOUS batch). I can’t even begin to wrap my head around this one. So, the two main issues would be automatically creating X records based on the event of another table AND auto generation of serial numbers starting off at the last serious number of previous batch. Is this impossible?

I can't find all the data I input on 12/20/23, I believe I may have created my spreadsheet under tutorials vs. base. Now I can't find any of my data. I've looked everywhere and can't access it.Help!!!

Hello, hope you are good!I've created an Interface view that i'd like to share to others without granting them the access to the entire base.Right now i just found this  I'm using the free plan, does it mean that the only way i can share my Interface to someone (maybe just by using a link) withouth giving them the access to the base, is with a Team subscription? I think i shared Interfaces in the past, or at least i'm quite sure Anyone faced the same problem?

 I have created a base in airtable. I have a multiselect column called "Attendees". One of the options in this column is "Product". I am currently trying to create a calendar view in airtable that is specific to the Product team. To do so, I have created a filter that says "Where "Attendees" has any of "Product"". However the records that have Product tagged do not appear on the calendar. How do I get the records tagged with "Product" under the multiselect column "Attendees" to appear on the calendar? I do not have the option to choose "contains" when I set up the filter. 

Hello everyone,I have a question regarding the multiple/single select fields.I've built a database for our team and we recently started using it. The only hiccup I encountered is with Multiple select fields: what I would like to have is a restriction for editors so that they would not be able to create new options within a multiple/single select field. Unfortunately, I haven't found a way of doing it, and as for now, all the editors are able to create new options. This leads to the creation of new options if someone, by mistake, presses enter after having typed a non-existing voice.Would you know how we can avoid that?Thank you very much in advance

I am a solo lawyer but I collaborate on some of my cases with other lawyers.I need to be able to see all of my cases in one place, but I need to share information with the other lawyers only for the cases that they are involved with and they need edit-level permission.  “Views” are not sufficient to share information in a usable format, so I have created “interfaces” to do that.  The problem is that interface sharing seems to require base-level collaborator access, but all of the cases are currently in one base and based off one master table with several related linked tables for specific things.Under this arrangement, some of the data for cases that are not associated with a given collaborating lawyer may be visible to those nonaffiliated lawyers, but it is impossible to know or to control that easily.I don’t know whether to divide the cases into bases according to the co-counsel or not.  If I did separate the cases into separate bases, I would s

Hello, we are hoping to build an ad inventory management system that allows us to track when certain ad products are booked.Each ad product has different frequencies (some can be booked 1x a week or some can be booked only for thursdays or can run a flight period). What we'd ideally like to get out of it is also being able to track what is not booked/available to share with our sales team. Does anyone have a similar system already built out that can share a template or suggestions for how to show availabilities?
