Base Design

Hi! I’m not sure how to go about this and any solution is welcome—I receive through webhooks a field that contains an array separated by commas. These need to be made into records themselves. Depending on the data received, there can be one or 20 values in the array. Any suggestion on how I can do this? I’m assuming this needs some sort of script, I’m happy as well to be led on what to read so I can learn more on how to do this. Thanks!

Is there a way to view data in a Kanban view by date, so that it looks more like a calendar of due tasks. The Calendar view is too limited in that it just shows one line and you have to click on each record to see more. As we do not depend on “time”, only dates I would like to have a calendar view with all jobs on a card under the due date etc. Hope this makes sense. It doesn’t seem to allow me to choose the date field. Thank you

Hi! I have 3 tables: Players, Teams and Clubs. Each Club can have up to two Teams. Each Player can sign up to one Club and one Team of that Club. In Players table I linked Clubs table and would like to have a team field, but limiting the option to the teams of the selected club. I tried to use Lookup, but the result wasn’t the desired. Any help?

Hey all wonderful AT peeps! Quick question. I have to track updates, changes, and versioning to name a few things of assets. I’d like to have a history that tracks the changes to each asset. I was thinking I could just use the existing “Asset Tracker” table I created, and just use the updated by and date fields, but that wouldn’t necessarily show the true update version, etc history that I want to be able to run reports, or even other team members to just view. Would I create a separate table “Asset History”, or something like that, that would link to the “Asset Tracker” table? Just curious. Sort of like a drop-down of all the history for each Asset. Does that make sense?

Hello, this is with regards to embedding a base on my Webflow website. I’m wondering if it is possible to display my airtable with a map vertically (on top of each other) rather than horizontally (side by side)? This way the map is in full view and so is the table, rather than squeezed into the width of the screen. Such as in the drawing here Thanks in advance.

Hi all, I’m new to Airtable and was hoping to get some advice on how to set up the base properly especially so it is scalable for numerous clients. I am designing an ordering system where the client submits their orders via forms and can view their order details via read-only grid views. Currently, I have client specific forms and views which I have duplicated for each of the clients (currently 2 test clients). The forms use the ‘Limit record selection to a view’ feature so clients can only select what is specific to them. Since my system is a work in progress, I am constantly updating the forms and views with any changes and then have to replicate that change for each client. I can kind of manage it now since it’s just two clients, but I can imagine with 5 or more clients, a small change to a view or form would take a fair bit of time to propagate across and is error prone. I am trying to prefill a form field from a long text field with rich text enabled. The rich text does not carry through to the form and is rendered as plain text. I have check boxes in the text that I would like to carry through to the form - is this possible? Help hugely appreciated!

I have no idea. How to use Unique Formula like in Excel. I want the sum of quantity of the second field to be appear in the new table automatically everytime i add more product. As in the Photo, i want to see the AK055 = 30 pcs Please help me find the way

I’m having trouble setting up a table because I need it to display a very specific way and I’m not entirely sure if it’s possible. One of my fields is going to have multiple entries and I need to group data based on each individual entry that is applied to that record, not the grouping. Ex: Record 1 applies to cats, dogs and birds. Record 2 applies to dogs, fish and cats. I need to be able to group by “Dogs” and see which records apply to dogs (I need this to display as rows under the heading of “Dogs”). However when you try to group by this field it doesn’t group by individual entry. I’m having trouble figuring out how to succinctly and accurately describe this problem via text. If anyone is willing to connect I’m happy to share more information. I’ve attached a photo that summarizes how I need the data to appear.

Hi everyone! I’m relatively new to Airtable, and wanted to get your advice on my base design (and if it’s even possible). Context: I am running a selection process that involves a written application stage with a pool of 11 different assessors; and then an interview stage with a pool of 14 different people. People applied using another applicant tracking system, but I can export that as a CSV for Airtable. I have already done this just to test it out, in what I’ll call Base 1. What I’m looking to do: Each applicant will have had 2-4 written and numerical reviews, what is the best way to upload these assessments? Would it be within Base 1, but a different table? How would I link these comments to the applicant’s record? I would like to be able to do this so that we are sharing someone’s application and the assessor’s notes with the interview panel; and so that we can calibrate across different people’s assessments too. Hi, I have a base with two tables/tabs. Table 1 with contacts incl. email addresses. Table 2 with email addresses. I would like to compare and if possible mark the record in table 1 when the two email addresses match. I’ve created both link and lookup fields but can’t make it work. Link fields are not filled out with data from table 2. Any ideas how to compare fields in two tables? Take care, Anders

Hi there, I am looking to automatically link a record from one table based on another cell’s linked data in a join table. My setup is made for event management (contacts, events, organizations). In the events table, I want to link both contacts and organizations. One organization can have many contacts of course. As I add a new event, I link it to many organizations. Can I make it so that the leads are automatically added & linked to that event? Does this require automation or am I missing something? My goal is to create a list of contacts with email addresses for a specific event so I can send a reminder email. I want to generate a list of contacts with one email address per line to send better emails by merging first names. Thanks!

I’m looking to leapfrog some work by seeing if anyone has an existing base of all Countries that I could duplicate. Ideally some additional properties would be: Region, Image, short description of the country - anything else (population statistics, governing country, language spoken, etc) would be gravy. Hi all! We’ve been racking our brain as to best set up our base, but we could definitely use your help! Here’s the thing: as a copywriting agency, we’re producing content for many different clients. And each client has their own tab with their own product planning. Some have say - thirty blogs per week. Others have incidental assignments. In our main/ starter/ first tab, we’re trying to create an overview of grouped tasks (eg. ‘Blogs week 17’), since mentioning each project would simply be a mess. And we would like to be able to link ‘Blog week 17’ with the corresponding tab of the client, were we can then specify which blogs these are (topics, who writes, etc). So, we have a ‘secondary’ tab per client. But now we’re looking for a simple way to link our main tab to these specific titles without having a ‘linked field’ for each client in the first tab: this would mean a very - very wide view for each record, while only one link would be relevant. Completely new to Airtable. I’m trying to design a jobs database that can handle repeated job events. Scenario is a customer needs a service carried out on a regular basis ie, 1, 2 3…weekly, fortnightly monthly, yearly etc. I need all future repeats to show on a calendar (don’t need time, just dates). I had something working in Google sheets and Excel, where a script would copy down a record xxx amount of times based on a cell value that calculated the no of occurrences until a specified end date (that was capped at two years), then added every occurrence to a spreadsheet database with the same record ID number to group them. Hello! For a school assignment (Software Development and Design) I am creating a game and using airtable as the online highscores database. So far its been working really well, as soon as one of my friends completes a run a record is added to my records table and it can be sorted so that I can see who is ontop of the leaderboard. The only issue with my current setup is that it has become hard to see any of the other players becuase a few particular users have filled up the top 300 slots or so as shown in the image. (Please ignore my friends “creative” choice of usernames) So what I think would be a good solution would be to either 1) Have another view/table that only shows the best run for each username or 2) remove/hide all of the runs that are not the best run Thanks, Tom Howarth

Hey Airtable Community! I was hoping for some help on overall concept / design. I am an insurance restoration contractor and we currently have a base that we are using to manage our workflow. We do 3 different kinds of jobs (Mitigation, Contents, and Storage). Due to the way my industry works, each are billed as separate jobs. A few variables: A customer can have one of the three job type, two of the three job types, or all three of the job types. We want our Accounts Receivable people to be able to call the customer and deal with all types of open invoices - so want to be able to cross reference all invoices for each customer readily and easily. We also want to be able to track notes (interactions) for the open invoices - i.e. a note that says they called or emailed the customer, date, time, etc. to make sure that we are working the open AR. Hi experts, i am new to airtable but i found airtable is an awesome tools!! i am a sales supervisor and try to use airtable as database for record and analysis. I have a base with several table, each table has a monthly sales record. We have several brands which selling in different retailers, so i pull the sales invoice into airtable by row recording which brands, item sold to which retailers. the key field as below Year, Month, Date, Brand, Retailers, Item Name, QTY sold, QTY amount. So i can easily figure out that month performance on sales However, i just getting trouble to build a summary table, or how to setup and link the sales of each monthly table. please help me. I have a table with two columns: ID and Product. The information is imputed through a bot. The more the ID buys the more lines it will have. At the end of the flow, to ensure that the ID has completed the purchase, I need to flag it in a new column: purchased = YES. however, the bot can only insert “YES” in the first line of the ID and the others are blank. There is a way inside airtable so that I can repeat the “YES” for an ID if there is already a row with that ID and the column purchased “yes”. Hey guys, I’ve built a personal CRM which I use to manage fundraising, hiring and key partnerships. I have the following (here relevant) tables: contacts, todos, contact interactions, pipelines, notes. When logging an interaction, I like to leave my notes and follow up tasks (2 different columns/ tables) directly in the ‘contact interactions’ table. However, they are then tied to the interaction, and not the contact. So whenever I click a contact before a meeting with them, I can not see previous notes nor my tasks related to them. The best workaround I found is clicking on the contact directly and leaving the task there, but that is somewhat clunky. Is there a formula/ script to ‘pull through’ certain data (having a field that writes on the contact table, but is visible in the interactions table, if it makes sense)? I have the same problem on multiple fronts, so if anyone knew a solution to this, it would be awesome :raised_hands: Best
