This is a tough one to describe in one sentence. Basically, I have a group of people who “sponsor” one another. There is no real hierarchy. Person A could sponsor Person B who could sponsor Person C who could Sponsor Person A. Some Sponsors might have multiple Sponsees. So I have one field, “Name”, and another Field “Their Sponsor” that links to the Name field. So I can see each Sponsee’s Sponsor, and what I would like is a way to see each Sponsor’s Sponsees, ideally in the same table. And, ideally, when the field “Their Sponsor” is updated, the “Sponsor’s Sponsees” field is automatically updated. Thanks in advance.
I have the following Tables. Teams. Production. Performance In table Production the data are imported as an entry in a daily basis and after that they are categorised in weekly basis. I want for the performance data to be rolled up from production table BUT in weekly basis ( not daily ) and by each team .Is that possible? Thanks in advance.
Hello! I have a question here. I use Zapier to integrate Airtable and Facebook Messenger as a way to maintain my customer support. Messages sent to my Facebook Page will be created as records in an Airtable table. Here’s what it looks like: https://i.imgur.com/zRsho7J.png As you can see, messages are always sent back and forth, so I group the records by Sender. But as the messages start to pile up, I want to have the latest messages (or the groups with the latest messages) to be on top of the table. However, if I sort the records, they will only be sorted within the groups, and groups are sorted by Sender alphabetically. Is there any suggestion to do this?
Hi all – I am building a production pipeline database for the nonprofit where I work. We currently track web publications, email, events, and social content in separate bases and that has made it difficult to visualize everything together and do cross-org and program-specific reporting. Our new base will unify all those content types into one pipeline for better reporting, more consistent data, and also tracking relationships between content types (ie, social post X is promoting web content Y). The different content types (Web, Email, Events, Social) have some shared fields, but each also has many fields which are unique to that type and our processes – tracking social content has different data than web content, for example. With that context here’s the question: One table with all items regardless of type OR a table per item type and some kind of ‘unity’ table that brings things together for reporting and planning? Option 1: One table to track all the content regardless of type. C
I’m brand new to Airtable and want to build the following: A project template that individual teams complete across the organisation A central dashboard view of certain fields from all projects e.g. total number of projects, total value of projects etc. Basically I want to be able to get a real-time overview of certain aspects of all projects. Can Airtable do this? If not, other there good no-code alternatives out there? Thanks!!
Hello! I’m trying to merge the data from 2 separate fields whenever they are updated into another field to keep a history of those changes. The first field is date and time, the second field is a single select of location. Ideally, this information would just automatically copy to the next line down of a long text field whenever it’s changed. I have no idea the best way to go about this. Thanks for your help in advance!
Hello Everyone, I spent the entire morning trying to figure this out but apparently it’s not possible. We have a supplier who sends us multiple packing lists per order. each packing list is basically a box with tracking number. Please check out this example base: Airtable Sample Orders - Airtable I NEED A SOLUTION TO PULL ORDER QUANTITIES FROM ORDER DETAILS What we’re trying to achieve, is to rollup the Quantity per each product per order in 1 line. So the only way to do this is to get all the rows that match order number & product number, then rollup their quantities. Thank you in advance.
Hello everyone, I am rather new to data tables, I can find solutions for my computer problems. but the i need some advice on whether my project can be done with airtable. I belong to a diving club. there are students in training N1 N2 N3 or other types. There are training courses with different evaluation criteria. There are monitors. I would like to be able to build a system that would allow the instructor to assess a diver at each end of a dive according to his level of training Have a student evaluation sheet depending on the training (s) that took place at a given time. If a student is in L1 training, the instructor will have a form where he will indicate a date, a dive site, a student then he can have an evaluation grid according to the level of the student. When the student has his level, he will have access to the evaluation of N2…. I can’t figure out the different tables and relationships I need to create … :slightly_smiling_face: Thank you in advance for your help.
I have entries for each Team member in my company. I want to assign them: Soft Skills Hard Skills and to give them ratings for each skill (eg. Employee 1 has React Front-end Skill - 4/5 stars) How would I do that? I tried making a separate table with skills and linking it in my Team member table, but I can’t figure out how to set the ratings to be different for each one.
Hi everyone! Were trying to build out our company database and are stumped on a couple things. We do one invoice item by zip codes which are broken down into 8 different zones. Based on the user form input how can we match that zip code to the zone and retrieve the price for that zone. How should we setup at table for products that contain unique access codes. So the product is the same, however each client receives a code to access the prodcut after purchase, that code can only be used once. What is your suggestion on how to setup this in Airtable? Thanks!
I am setting up a Directory within Airtable that will enable someone to select the best payment solution for their business. It will be a carbon copy of the Case Study on Softr’s website (see image). If someone needs an invoicing solution, for example, they would click the “Invoicing” category on Softr, and the payment solutions would appear. But I have 2 challenges: (1) For certain solutions, like Square, could come up under multiple filters such as “Point of Sale” or “eCommerce” or “Invoicing”. If create a column with ‘Multiple Select’, would that work? (2) Some solutions will be for B2B payment solutions and the other 80% would be for B2C payment solutions. There are 2 questions for this chellenge: the first is the same as before i.e should I use ‘Multiple Select’ and the second question is filtering hierarchy. How do I configure Airtable so that the B2B/B2C filter is first, then the solution type is second. I am new to Airtable and I did search through the community posts to find
Real estate business in Australia needs help with designing and building a complex airtable base, for the management of residential properties (compliance, communications, clients etc)
I am building a list of Italian verbs. It grows as my knowledge of Italian does. Currently I have the six persons for each verb in the present tense only. (io - I, tu - you, lui/lei - he/she, voi - we, noi - you, loro - they). I want to start adding other tenses like past for example. But it occurs to me that it might be better design to have the six persons and then have each of them contain the tenses. So a table of persons, each containing several tense fields. Then in the main table, I would want to be able to sort or group by either. I may not be explaining this correctly. Apologies. Can I do this in my Base? Do I need to add an app? Thanks.
Hi, I previously posted a topic (see below) and @Justin_Barrett has answered the topic to my satisfaction. However, when trying this solution with dates, I can not get it to work. I looked it over multiple times but I’m at a loss here. Is it possible to do this with dates (so am I doing something wrong?) or is there another solution? Previous post: Hi, I am trying to find a way to find the value that is the second to the max value of multiple linked record using rollup. I can find the max value, but I am still unable to find a way to find the second to max value. So if I have, 21840, 20194, 21664, I need to be able to work with the max(21840) and the second to max(21664). I hope I have explained my situation properly and hopefully someone can help me. Thanks in advance! Answer by @Justin_Barrett: Welcome to the community, @Ion_Giskus! :grinning_face_with_big_eyes: This is doable with a couple of back-and-forth rollup fields between the two related tables. Just an FYI, though, this wi
I have a few Airtable base architecture conceptual question: As I understand it, Bases in Airtable can always easily be duplicated and copied by collaborators. As we are developing bases further and further, we are faced with the following: A. Is there a way to avoid collaborators that are employees in a company, that also requires the ability to create new records and edit existing ones, from copying or duplicating our entire Bases? This is like asking to giving away the source code to any employee of ours that they can go use, share, sell to any other company. I mean more the Base design and features, less the data in it. B. If the answer to “A’ above it a “no,” then are there tools or apps that can be like a UI on top the base, so employees cannot see the base and tables and field structure? Best rgrds, Khuned
Hi all! New here — thanks in advance… I’m recording activity of participants in a challenge to earn points. There are about 18 participants and the challenge consists of answering several questions daily. The participants can earn 1 point, 0 points, or choose not to answer. I have a base with 3 tables. Players (i.e. “participants”), Challenges, and Data. The Players table links to Data and uses a couple Rollups to SUM() total Points and to COUNTALL() total Entries. The Data table includes a column for earned points (either 1 or 0). In the Players table’s initial “Link to Data” column (Data Records), Airtable inserts references to the Data table as “reference buttons” — so I can click the reference and see the full record. QUESTION How do I add a column that inserts “reference buttons” only to records where Points = 0 (zero)? Any other insights into base design much appreciated! SCREENSHOTS Sample of Data table grouped by date and “challenge question” (e.g. “Breakfast”). Each respo
I’m designing a CRM using a series of Airtable Automations when I change the status of a record in company table (or contact table) to “in progress” (a single select field) a new record in the Opportunity table gets created. This is working fine. my problem is that I can’t figure out to do it in reverse: so when the opportunity resolves as “sale” or “no sale” I want the single select fields in the Company/Contact tables to automatically update accordingly (“sale” → “client” / “no sale” - > “not a client”) I first create a “when a record matches conditions” trigger (when stage is “no sale”) I then go on to create an “Update Record” Action but then I can’t find the correct fields. I chose the table where the action should happen but when I hit the “plus” sign I am shown fields in a different table.
Hi everyone, I want to use Airtable to make shopping order for a store. I have 4 tables: List of products (Airtable - Grid view) Supplier list Price list: for each product, I indicate the price at each supplier (Airtable - Grid view) Purchase order Airtable - Grid view The problem is on this last table. I indicate the product I want, the supplier, and I would like to have a column that searches for the price of this product, for this supplier, in the price table. I hope I was clear, I guess this is a fairly simple and classic issue, but I can’t seem to do this search across multiple tables. Thanks in advance to the community, Guillaume S.
When I update a value inside a data cell ( for example from undone to done ) , is there any way for the date of action to be automatically inserted in separate new cell ? Thanks in advance
I have two tables X and Y, which have corresponding linked record fields. Consequently, if I update a linked record field value in table X, then the update is reflected in table Y. This is expected behavior. Based on the 2 linked record fields mentioned, I used the ‘Create junction table’ script to create junction table X-Y. The corresponding linked record fields in X and Y are both shown in X-Y as a result. When I… update either of the 2 linked record field values in X-Y, the corresponding values in X and Y are not updated, or when I… update said values in table X or Y, junction table X-Y is not updated. Is this behavior correct or is there a bug in how I’ve implemented the junction table?
First thank you in advance! I would like ideas with my table architecture of my project. I am new to AirTable. I am building a contact database for my homeowner’s association. Using node.js, Twilio Functions, I want to be able to ask the question, “What is the contact phone numbers for pool vendor and homeowners at 123 Oak Ave?” These are the tables that I was thinking I need: homes address table with the house number, street vendor table with the different vendors’ name, address, multiple phone numbers and emails. contact table with names, link addresses, and multiple phone numbers and emails per record. An example would be I want both spouses cell phone numbers tied to the address. We have some people own multiple homes. I would like a “Last Updated” column know too when any of the tables’ rows are updated. Then, I want to provide associations to the different vendors for the home. Example would be all Oak Ave address use the vendor Best Pools. We do have one offs too where hou
Hi! I’ve attached my table connections as an image. Is it possible to to show “Kund” in the table “Uppställningsplats”? If not, what’s an alternative set up? Thanks!
Sorry, I didn’t know where else to post this. How secure is my Airtable data? I know with something like Protonmail, only I, the password holder, can access my emails. Can Airtable employees with the right permissions access my data? Thanks!
Hi! I’m new here. Is it possible to share all of the options in one single select field with another single select field in another table? For example, say I have table of employees with a location (city), and a table of clients with a location. I’d like to be able to add a city to one field and have it automatically show up as a single select option in the other table.
Hello everyone, Thank you in advance for your help! I have a base where I am trying to track company wide clients in a “master” view. I would like sub view for each of my employees where they update and input the clients information and then populates and updates the “master” view almost like a ledger. I would like each employee to only have access to their clients. I was able to update this in the master view, but it made multiple columns specific to each employee. I would like a single column with the employees name, is this possible? Master View Client 1 2 3 4 Employee 1 Client 1 4 Employee 2 Client 2 Employee 3 Client 3
