I’m doing my own take on a mini-CRM. Here’s what I have thus far: Company - Name - PK - Single LIne Text Notes - Long Text Contact - Link to Contact table - shows all contacts Google Contact URL - wish I could some how mechanize this one but whatever! Stage - Look up from Contact table Contact - Name - PK - formula concatenating Last, First, MI, Suffix Notes - Long Text Company - Link to Company table name field Stage - Single select with Lead, Prospect, Client, Dead Google Contact - URL LatestActivityDate - Rollup from Activity Table selecting MAX() from the Activity /Created field Latest Note - Rollup from Activity Table selecting CONCATENATE(values) from the Activity/LatestNote field Activity - link to the Activity table showing all keys Last - Single Line Text First - Single Line Text MI - SIngle Line Text (restrict to 1 char???) Suffix - Single Line Text Name Combined - Forumula concatenating First, MI, Last, Suffix Okay after all that, the major thing would be to have a table or
Is it possible to have a linked record be filtered by using IS logic? When using the filtering tool and selecting the linked field, I’m only given the four text options and no IS option (see below). I’d like to have it be like this (see below).
Can I create a database into which various text data will be dumped, sorted by cells in the table in accordance with the specified rules And is it possible to somehow teach the database where and what to sort (what text need to be puted in what gaps)? Each user will have their own database and will also have a common database
Hello! I’m looking to link my bases for an art history research project, and one of the ones that would be helpful is to make the life dates of the artists actual dates, instead of having them as a “Single Line of Text” category like I do now. The problem is I can’t figure out if it’s possible to include text like “ca.” (or “around”) to date fields. Do you have any suggestions? I suppose if someone lived in “the early 19th century,” I could put 1800–1850 as specific dates. The other issue is I just want years, not days and months. If I can figure out how to do all of this, I could make an interactive timeline showing the overlaps of artists’ lifetimes! That would be fantastic.
Hey there, Airtable Community! I’m trying to do something and can’t seem to figure it out. Here’s what I’m trying to do. I’ve got one table where I’m tracking Medium stories, including the author, tags added to the story, date, etc. Basic version of what I’m going for: Medium has Top Writer status that can be achieved for specific tags. I’d like to track who those top writers are at the end of every month, and in a rollup field (I think this is what I would use) I want to ONLY show the stories from the month/tag in which they were a top writer. So I’d want to see that for the productivity tag, Author One got Top Writer status in June, then easily see all the stories written by them in that month (from within that record in the Top Writer table). What’s the best way to set up that Top Writer table so that I’m able to properly connect the data and do what I’m after? Is it even possible? Thanks so much!
Hi there, As you can see in the picture I’ve two sheets here. So the sum of Sheet 1 is $2890 and sum of sheet No 2 is $3400. IS there any way to combining the sum together and view them at once? Thanks in advance!
I am trying to set up a base to track animals that are brought to a disaster relief center for care. It was fairly easy to create all of the fields that we need to record such as animal ID or breed. What I am having trouble figuring out his how can I set up a field where we enter daily updates about each patient? Is that simply a field with multiple lines available? Is there a way to automatically insert a date for each entry and also include descriptions of the update?
We are suddenly receiving a message that our unpublished application form is “potentially risky.” Now we cannot make the form public until this is resolved. Any idea what is happening or how to solve it? Thank you
Hi, I have a conditional rollup where I am doing an Arrayunique of events that occurred in a specific Academic Year. If the array is empty (meaning, the event was not scheduled in said year), then I want the rollup field to say “Not Scheduled”. Is that possible? I currently am doing this by using the Rollup as a helper column, but would love it if I can do this all in one.
So I see you can create a template for a printable paper document from your Airtable database. Have they created a webpage version of this yet? Basically, I want to break out of the iframe boundary that makes my webpage look cramped. Basically, in a nutshell, I want to be able to beautify the table (with css) and views but still keep the search functionality.
Hello there! So I have a database with several tables: One contains all books in my library Another one contains all journals Another one contains reports, etc. The last one contains records of compartments in different shelves on different racks. All other tables link to this one to specify where exactly this or that book, journal, etc. is found. All tables contain at least one identical field: Title. What I need is to create a table that will automatically enumerate unique titles from all tables and show the corresponding locations.
Hi all, Thanks in advance for helping! I have one view; my base view; with all the ideas we want to pick up as a team; it shows the idea, description, who’s responsible etc… But these ideas have to be prioritized by each teammember and its average will decide its prioritization. To do this, I created view for each teammember: I want to automatically ‘pull’’ the idea records from the first view into each teammembers’ view. I keep failing with the link records and lookups. With link reocrds, there’s nothing to link it too. In excel I would just simply use: Sheet_name ! First_cell : Last_cell but how can I achieve this in Airtable? I’m new to all this. I tried to go through previous questions from other community members but couldn’t find one that was also solved! Kind regards, Wen
I’m trying to prefill an embedded form. The form url is: https://airtable.com/embed/shraRGcZ5vsAbNBgE? The code i’m trying to use to embed it is: <script src="https://static.airtable.com/js/embed/embed_snippet_v1.js"></script><iframe class="airtable-embed airtable-dynamic-height" src="https://airtable.com/shraRGcZ5vsAbNBgE?prefill_Company%20Name=1st%20National%20Bank%20SLU&prefill_Job%20Title=Executive%20Officer" frameborder="0" onmousewheel="" width="100%" height="1337" style="background: transparent; border: 1px solid #ccc;"></iframe> I get an “airtable refused to connect” error
Hello, I’m trying to build a base where I can create multiple meetings, and then track who attends each meeting. I tried using the “Event contacts management Template” because I thought it might work, but it doesn’t seem to do it. One other thing I would like is for the ability to tag an attendee as to if they were a speaker at that particular event, which I thought I could do with the “Contact type” field in this template, but that seems to be a global setting for all events, which is not what I want. One other thing I noticed when using this template, I was unable to add contact attendees from a mobile phone. I could only create new meetings.
Hi all, I have a question about a workflow strategy. We have many bases spreaded through the different functions of our company. Every base is build upon a specific function need, from content management to administration to sales to R&D. Every collaborator has many bases to work on simultaneosly. (Eg: administration works on record from marketing, publishing and sales). Every time a record from a specific base go further with the workflow (eg. a project pass from “offer sent” to “project signed”, a trigger send a notification and the designed collaborator receive a pull for that task. In this case the administration will receive “send invoice”. My question is, IS THERE A WAY TO HAVE ONE UNIQUE PLACE FOR ALL TASKS (from all bases)? When we run weekly sprints is hard to have “the big picture” of what’s next, because all tasks are spreaded through different bases at different status. Are we missing anything on this side? How do you deal with these (organizzational) issues?
Hey everyone, Is it possible to move a record from one base to another with an automation? My organization organized projects in their own bases and each task gets assigned an owner. Ideally, I would like to be able to use an automation that is triggered by a task/owner assignment and places the task in the owner’s own base in order to create a “to-do list” of tasks aggregated from different project bases. Thanks in advance for your reply!
Has anyone set up Airtable as a full enterprise management tool, including Sales and sale orders, bill of material, raw material orders, stock management, works orders, inventory management and invoicing/financial?
Hello. I am very new to Airtable and trying to figure out if this is possible… I would like to be able to have many meeting dates attributed to a single task on a single line on a Gantt chart. I would like to be able to see: ‘Meeting X’ - 3rd July, 7th August, 11th September ‘Meeting Y’ - 5th July, 3rd August, 4th September From what I’ve worked out so far, the only way of achieving the above would be by having 6 separate tasks. 3 of them called ‘Meeting X’ and 3 called ‘Meeting Y’. Obviously this means 6 separate lines on the Gantt chart, rather than 2, and will quickly become unmanageable when I start to populate future dates and other meetings. Thanks
Hi everyone!. Hope can someone help with a design that I’m struggling with for a long time. I’m in charge of a database a medical speciality program (Emergency Medicine). I have a base with the list of persons (residents) and a list of rotations where the residents needs to rotate every month for the whole duration of his/her program duration. For example, one month, he/she needs to rotate in pediatrics, the next one in ER, the next in the ICU and so on. The problem is, I’m trying to join both tables (residents and rotations) with all the conditionals that needs to exist and I’m having troubles in terms of design and visualization: I’ve created the junction table (Rotations Calendar) where I can see the month in the primary field and the rotations in the other fields, linking to the residentes list. So I can see who is rotating in each month, how many residents are rotating in some rotations (counting the linking records) and in the residents table I can see when the resident is rota
Hi all. I have a base with 12 tables. I would like to create a table which will list links to all the other tables in the base, to ease navigation. I can get the View link but that opens up in a browser. Is there a way to create a link to a table that then goes to the referenced table within the desktop app? Thanks in advance. Shaun
at some point with glitchy internet I was offered the option to work offline… carried on and forgot… a few days later with no orders showing up I remember, but where do I reconnect?!
I’m still pretty new to Airtable, and I’ve searched for this info to no avail. I’m trying to understand the core reason(s) for using multiple workspaces. In our business, we have multiple clients with very different setups and data. I need to be sure those streams don’t cross. If we can share the bases within the workspace without granting access to everything, is there a reason why I couldn’t use one workspace and build out a base for each client?
I am looking at to build a system which will allow me to keep track of the walkthrough I do with my teachers as a school principal. I have one tab with all the teachers, one tab with all the standards we are looking at. My goal is when I start a walkthrough would be to: Select the teacher Upload medias Add notes in 3 boxes: description fo the observation, area of strengths, suggestions Rate the selected standards (probably 5 maximum for one walkthrough), and add a note next to the rating What would be the best way to design this ? My issue is on the standard as for ONE ENTRY (one walkthrough for one teacher), I can see how to deal with the medias and the three notes, however I don’t see how I can select the standards I want to rate and rate them. If you have done think kind of design or you know a template that could inspire me, I would love to see it.
I’m building a research project library and I’d like to create a multiselect “see also” column at the end of each record where we could select any of the other records (projects) in the base for people to reference. Whenever a new project is added to the library I’d love for that project title (from the title column) to appear as an option in this multiselect list. I’ve seen how to link records from another table, but wondering if something like this is possible within the same table. Thanks!
It’s so easy to create a simple relational database. But SO difficult to enter data into joined tables, and even worse to edit. For example, enter and edit a contact with 3 phone numbers. I get that AirTable attempts to simplify with popups to joined records, but this gets exponentially cumbersome and prone to error quickly with anything but the simplest of schemas. What am I missing? E.g., I can’t believe there isn’t an included / easy way to enter data into one form that populates multiple tables with appropriate joins. Help? ===================================================== 7/25/21 Apparently, I can’t reply after 15 days, not even to update with a solution, so editing original here. What I was missing was AUTOMATIONS. I had no idea that Automations could do this without too much pain. Create an input table, then use automations to split the values into various tables. This is helpful for data entry, but cumbersome for wide tables and doesn’t easily solve updating.
