Interface Designer

Hey guys I've created a new base, where one of the tables syncs to another table in a separate base. Got everything working however, inside of the interface in the NEW base, the button to update a field in the linked table does not work. Any ideas?  

I can't wrap my head around this... For demo purposes, I have created a pretty simple base that looks like so, and this all looks goodThen I created a simple interface; the only problem is the item highlighted, which is incorrect. I have tried all the options, and nothing is giving me the correct %. If I plot the same data in Excel, this is what I see:Any idea how do I get the right ROI % (I need the result from the same table)?    

I've got a button on an interface Kanban that opens the record creation form right on that same interface page, which is really helpful. However, I'm now trying to put a button to do the same thing on a different page of the interface, which started as a blank page, and that button action ("Open record creation form") isn't an option.Am I missing something about the button setup, or is this a bug? The form I want to open exists in the same interface, but being able to create new records without having to leave the page is a time saver, as is the ability to create records with a nice curated form rather than just using the inline record creation option, which jumps around because of our default sorting and has a million fields on it by default.

 We are planning to use record templates in our organization for records (jobs) that we build a lot. We will probably reach the 100max limitation, which is fine. The problem is that every time I add a new record template, I have to go to the interface, remove all templates and then add them again so they are on order. Otherwise, the template that I add at the end will be at the bottom of the list and it will be difficult for my team to find that template. I tried dragging them up/down but it won't work.I would like to have the below sorted by name;For example:Cherrys: E12738Flender: E10346Shibaura: E11334 

i have been using airtable for 5 years. My team uses it quite extensively- particularly for automations. however, for the life of me, i cannot seem to create a useful interface. i have tried time and again. i see the promo videos, where interfaces look amazing. so i go in and try again. and almost immediately, i get bogged down. does anyone have a youtube guide they can recommend?For airtable base topics, Gareth from GAP Consulting has been my go-to guru for years. everytime airtable drops a new feature, i wait for Gareth to cover it in one of his videos, and it all becomes clear. however, even Gareth has failed me when it comes to building interfaces.my team is going to be onboarding a new set of users soon. and i have a feeling that an interface could be a real asset to the new users- so they don't have to deal with ALL of the data and can just focus on the parts that apply to them.any suggestions for guides on building interfaces? thanks!

Hello everyone,In an interface page I created an automation that is launched when I click on a button.The automation will allow me to duplicate a record.However, when this automation runs, I stay on the page of the record I've just duplicated.Is there any way of adding a step in the automation, or whatever, so that the new record, which is the duplicate, is displayed?Thank you for your help.Julien

It would be really useful to be able to select more than one record/element at a time in the Timeline view. It is not uncommon to want to move 10 days of bookings 'up' a day, and currently this can only be done in Gannt view (which is not available in the Interface designer - very frustrating).  

When click 'open' in an interface, why two forms are shown?Sometimes only 1 form is shown (which is what I expect), but often two same forms are shown.Anything I did wrong?Thanks!

Hi,I was wondering if it's meant to be possible to sort the cards manually within each stack in the Kanban element in an interface. You can do it in the Kanban view but I don't seem to be able to do it in an interface.Erik

It's possible to "Link/Unlink Records" and "Add records through a form" on Android. But when I login to my Airtable App on the iPhone it doesnt show the X grey button on the upper right corner and the "add Record" button below. I'm using the same account to test the same interface on Android and iOS. Both have the latest version, but iOS wildly has a big difference and lacking in features on the linking / unlinking records.Screenshot from Desktop Interface Editor of what I need:Screenshot from Airtable iOS app that has the "Add payment" button and "grey X" button missing: I also saw that this user had the same problem last OCTOBER 2023 but no one responded since. LINK We've already emailed airtable support but havent heard from them yet.  I've also reinstalled the app, logging in and out, even cleared the cache of the App on the iPhone, but nothing changes. 

I've created a dashboard interface and I've added a filter by date.I can do many type of filtering such as "is after...", "is before..." but I cannot filter between 2 specific dates.It seems that a "Is between (exact dates)" filter is missing.There's a "Is within" filter that seems close, BUT it does not allow to select specific dates.Is there a solution to that problem or am I missing something?   

Does anyone know why creating or linking records in elements with a linked record source is disabled (locked icon)? Right now, you see this when you mouse over those disabled buttons: This feature is not currently available in Interfaces for elements with a linked record source  Because I do need a linked, filtered, and sorted list element with a record source, I came up with the solution of adding a record picker element, just purely for the ➕ button that isn't disabled. I think the hover message means that the Airtable team is working on it, but not sure what the timing or issue is. Anyone know?

I have a basic interface List View page setup on my base. I have an "Add Record" button in the top right of the page that opens a record creation form. On Desktop it works fine.On mobile, if you open the list view, the way you access the add Button is using the "+" button in the bottom left of the mobile interface. When I click the "+" button, you see a list of buttons you configured on desktop. I see the buttons I expect, and they are configured to open up a "Create" formThe issue is that when I click on a button in the list, nothing happens. I expect the create record form to popup, but it doesn't. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

I have created a space for the company that my clients can access to see their results (in a control panel, interface). But in order to see their results, currently, they have to create an account on airtable (which is strange for them since it is my company that provides the service)I want to know if it is possible that they can access to their dahboard (interfcae) without logging into airtable, or something similar, it is very important for me.Thank you

Hi,How can I set a condition in intefaces so that the chart displays data only from the last calendar year?Within the past year apparently does not count the calendar year, but the year itself. I need January 2024 not to be there anymore.Thank you for your help.

👋I have an interface with a grid view. In the view there is a select field. I want user to be able to select one field, copy the field (CMD+C or CTRL+C) and Paste in the same fields of the other recordsOn Mac this works perfectly. CMD+C copies the selected field. With Shift users can select the same fields of the other records in the Grid and with CMD-V they can paste it in However for users using Windows 11 with Edge or Chrome this does not work: CTRL-C is fine (you get a notification that the cell is copies). With Shift you can select the cells of the other records and they are being selected (blue background). However CTRL+V does not work. This works fine in the base. Just not in the interface. Is this a bug or a known limitation? Best Hendrik

Good Afternoon, I am an Administrator for a private education institution and I am curently working on turning my Airtable bases into an interface that our entire team can interact with. I’m working to avoid anyone other than myself and one other Administrator ever having to interact with the typical Airtable bases/grids. The one thing I’m struggling to figure out (I’ve watched all the available videos and livestreams etc and referred to the online help guides). We’ve connected our Twilio account to Airtable via the Apps/Dashboard feature within the base containing all of our contacts. It works just fine, no issues there. What I’m looking to do, is take that Dashboard/App element and add it into the Interface that I’ve set up so that the faculty who interact with the interface only can have access to the Twilio messaging feature. We use it primarily for urgent communications as they arise (weather, health, safety etc), and our class hours are not always within the work hours of the Adm

Not exactly sure which location this post should go...Hello! I've been using Airtable for a few years now. I use Quickbooks for my ordinary inventory, but it doesn't track our Wholegoods inventory. I set up a basic database, but as we grow, I need this a bit more polished. Perhaps turn it into a form. Do you provide services where someone can create that for me? beyond basic knowledge, I just don't have the time to figure it out 🙂 Thanks!

Hello, Community!I have a button in a grid view which action is "Open in page designer". I cannot find an option to incorporate this button/action into interface designer. Well, I can add the button field but no action is available in the interface. No further options available neither.Have I missed something?K

Has anyone made / planning to make something like this?I can see how a gallery view would be nice as a starting point for an App with lots of Interfaces, but I can't see a good way to add a simple clickable 'link' to them, other than have a URL in the Record Info, but it wouldn't feel very intuitive? Thoughts?

If I create a survey form (interface) to be filled out for project requests - do the other departments making the request using the form need an Airtable license?

Hey all, I have a table where I have all team colleagues, with Photo, Email etc. If I will now select an Assignee for a Task in the Tasks table I will get a pretty nice view with all key information and a photo, which I really like. Image with data from an template: However, in Interfaces / Forms it happens sometimes that it is just a plain checkbox list. In other places, like if I am opening a record in an Interface it seems to work and I just have to make sure the layout is select to "cards". I did it for Forms as well, but here I can't select the fields which should show up. Is this a bug? Is there a way to have always this "cards" layout?

Hello!I'm currently building an interface where I want to be able to pick a record, open the record detail for a specific linked record, click into one more record detail for a 3rd linked record, and then click a button to establish a link back to the original record in the interface. I'm able to have that button automatically populate a very specific record link, but am not able to have it dynamically change based on the actively open record in the original interface. Making the button run an automation also doesn't work, because the automation can only be passed the information from the deepest record detail view I go to.To explain all of that a little more specifically, I'm building a base to build shipments for customers. Each shipment will be based on a template, but will have different specific contents (each may have a shirt, shoes, or hat, but then you can choose what size based on the original templated shipment). I have a series of Interfaces that all start with the same record picker.  I'd like to pick the appropriate record in the record picker of the first interface and then pass the value I've selected in the record picker to the remaining interfaces so that I don't have to pick it at the start of every interface.  Is there a way to do that?
