Hi there,I would like to organise the data based upon each individual user in the linked lookup field on the right hand side. When grouping the data it groups all of the looked up fields together. Is there a way of sorting the data to be per every individual linked user. So each user has a set of this data.Any help would be greatly appreciated,Bart
We would like to create a calendar view, which looks like this:We have the rooms on the left, the date on the top. If there are reservations, we would see the reservations in the specific line for the room.Any ideas? Thanks a lot!Tobi
Hi, i have an interface, and i added a commenter to my interface, however, when i tag the person who the interface is shared with, that person does not get a notification when they are tagged, is this normal, or am i missing something? The owner of the base gets the comment notifications
I created a form type page in interfaceI want a field to only display data that comes from another fieldexampleI have a project table and an apartment tableeach apartment corresponds to a single project(the connection is well created)logically in the form when we choose the project we must display in the apartment field only the apartments which correspond to this projectTHINK YOU
Hi all,I want to create an Interface page that helps my team with a recurring task, that involves three tables:Choose a single project, presumably using a record picker ("Projects" table)In a grid or list below, choose multiple records ("media outlets" table) with a check-markUpon clicking a button, an automation creates entries in a third table ("status" table). These entries are linked to the project from step 1 and the selected media outlets from step 2 and also are assigned a certain status (i.e. "new")It sounds simple, but I fail to pass the info from both the record selector and the grid on to the script.Seriously hoping this is doable. I would appreciate any hint as to where I should be looking as I am quite lost at the moment.Thank you!
I have a table of Shows and a table of Contacts. There is a linked record field in Shows so that I can attach a Contact to a Show. When I choose a linked record from the Shows table, the record picker looks like this:I built an interface in Grid format that has the same linked field—adding a Contact to a Show. When I choose a linked record in the interface, the record picker looks like this: My question: Why does the record picker look different when using the same field? Can I get the interface picker to show the linked contact's email address in the picker (so somebody doesn't choose the wrong Contact)?
Hello everyone!I'm new to AirTable but I have 20+ years of experience with SQL, but I'm stuck with the interface design here.I'm helping a friend setting up a project to keep track of orders and AirTable seems to be the perfect place.I have created a "product" table, an "order" table and a junction table "order_product" for the many-to-many relationship between them. Now I need to create a form or an interface to execute the following process:I need a page where I can choose the client for the order and add multiple products with quantityWhen the form is submitted it has to create a new record for the orderWhen the form is submitted it has to create a new record for each product in the order (linking the new order that has been created)Any idea on how to do that? Thank you so much in advance and greetings from Italy!
Greetings to all,I'm looking for an efficient solution to a problem concerning the organization of my to-do list for different events during the year. We've drawn up a list of tasks (110) to be repeated at each event.I'm facing 2 issues:1 - When I create a list view, I link the tasks with the event; the task remains a single record, so if I validate a task for an event, the task will be validated for ALL events. It doesn't matter what the hierarchy of my list is (or did I misunderstand?).2 - In a previous version with 89 tasks, I was able to get around this issue with record templates. When we decided to take part in an event, the 89 records were created, and then I pressed a button to launch several automations linking the new records to the congress. Not the most refined method, but it worked very well. Problem: record templates are limited to 100 records per base.I'd like to avoid recreating a table for each event to keep a clean AirTable base. If possible, have one event table, one
Dear allI'm new here to the community - so thank you for all future help & interaction!I have trouble finding a setting to the buttons in interfaces. In the airtable manual (https://support.airtable.com/docs/interface-element-button) there ist the following description: AppearanceBefore moving on to further interface configuration or publishing your interface, you may want to rename/label the button or change its color to provide more context to collaborators who are interacting within the interface you are building. You can also have the button update colors and/or label after the button has been clicked. I saw this function in the past, but can't find it consistently. Maybe I'm just don't see it or was it removed? I also can't find any thread or comment about this.Since it is a very valuable feature, I'm greatful for every hint!Kind regards, Chris
Hello,I am having an unusual experience in Interface Designer's "Checklists" which is causing a problem for me...When I have added a Text Box element to my Interface, and use the "Checklist" function (this is *not* the Airtable field type CheckBox), it's behaving strangely. When I am editing the interface, I can check/uncheck the Checklist. But when I've published it and I'm in the "normal" user view of the Interface, I cannot check/uncheck the Checklist boxes. So, if I "check" a box while editing, and then publish the interface, then the checkbox is stuck in the "checked" status. Likewise, if I "uncheck" a box while editing, and then publish the interface, then the checkbox is stuck in the "unchecked" status. I cannot change it either way from the User View. This is surprising to me. Does anybody know how to get the checklists to be able to check/uncheck when I'm using the interface, and not just when I'm editing? It's hard for me to imagine this is the intended fun
I'm clicking on interfaces and start new interface. It brings me to a page that shows me the type of interfaces you can create but there is no button to press. It looks like there is a header text at the top of the page, but I can't even scroll the page up or down. So I tried in a different browser and the same happens. I'm the only creator so it's not an issue with having access. I'm having the same issue in Tools when trying to change permissions in a drop down menu. I can't even scroll through the top one to see the options. The page won't scroll. Any ideas?
Hi!Does anyone know how to remove access to an interface once it's shared? I shared an "editable" interface that I created for my creators with a read-only user so she can't interact with it. I created a read-only version with a form so she could submit information, but now I can't unshare the editable interface. I don't see an option to "remove access" with her account. What gives?I have a Pro account if that helps.
I have a table of Properties, and a table of Transactions. I would like to do an interface, whereby one can first select the property, and then enter the date range.Based on that, i wanted to show the Transactions which match the PropertyId, and are within that date range. I couldn't find any 'datepicker' element, and neither could I link the filter to the value of the Property Select earlier. Am I missing something, or is this functionality not supported?
Hello,In the Interfaces section, I'd like the value automatically selected in the first drop-down list to depend on the value selected in the second drop-down list.Example:Contents of list 1: A / B / CContents of list 2: X / Y / ZIf A is selected in the first drop-down list, select Z in the second drop-down list. How do I do this?
Interface newbie here (and, I've been at that stage for a LONG time, tbh) I'd love to build out an interface, but I'm just *not getting it*. I can add basic elements, but some of the things that my brain is visualizing, I can't get to replicate in this space. For example: I'd love to have an interface reflect on the success of the events the day prior. How many overall registrants across all events (which I've figured out), and then display the highest few (2/3?) events as a separate widget. I think I need to make these all formulas in my data? Or can I just make a formula in the interface itself? One layer further, we have a team of 6. It would be cool to have one interface show each person's "best" (highest registration count) event from the day prior, all within the same widget. Help?
I have an airtable interface that shows records from my "Ideas" table. One record in the idea table is a linked record, linked to the "Engagement" table. I set up my interface & fields so I can have link to multiple records (field setting) and expand the linked record (ie the engagmenet record), link/unlink records from the interface, and create new records from the interface. When I click "New engagement", my form pops up to create a new engagement. However, when I click "Create", nothing happens, and a pop up in the left hand corner says "You are not permitted to perform this operation" Any ideas what might be going on?
I have interface pages utilizing the "tab" filters, but im not seeing any way to default to a specific tab. Instead it defaults to "all records" every time. Even if i navigate to a specific tab, and copy the URL to share with someone, it refreshes back to "all records" tab.
Basically the title. This was working yesterday, showing the name of the person who modified the record most recently. Now it shows the red ! triangle and says "Invalid visual variant" in the Record Detail. What's weirder is when you open the interface editor to try and figure out what's going on with the Record Detail, it shows the correct name.
Hello,I have been creating interfaces for my techs to use so they can update jobs while in the field - the interface is designed to give them the information they need about a job, and allow them to quickly take notes, upload pictures, and log their time. Unfortunately, when I open the iPhone app and pull up this interface, I'm not able to edit any of the records! I can see them all just fine, but it's just not editable. According to the announcement of interfaces on iOS (https://community.airtable.com/t5/announcements/introducing-mobile-interfaces-on-iphone/ba-p/160766), we should be able to edit records, but the option just isn't appearing for me.I'm using the List interface, and have enabled the option to allow users to edit records inline. I can edit records using the interface on desktop just fine, but the iPhone app does not allow it. Am I missing an option?
Greetings! I'm currently exploring how to sort data in columns while using Airtable's grid interface. I can successfully sort data on the backend, but I'm seeking a way to enable users and viewers to sort this data directly within Airtable's grid interface. Your guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.Thank you!
When opening a record details page (sidesheet/full page), I'd like to be able to press a button on the header to open the same record details but in a different customized view.I have so many customized record detail pages that I would love to make use of, but the only way to currently do that is in a different interface page, or use the 'open url in record' hack that has to reload the entire page to work, which is a bit clunky.Simple use case: open record details to view information that is not edit'able, click button to open the edit'able version of the record.Just my two cents. Opening record details via button is a dream of mine.
Hi All,I am new to Airtbale and I have an interface designer question. I have a database that lists products that I use within my field of work. I create various product groups for different product categories by filtering and creating grid view for each category. Once the grid views are created I create a record interface to display these products and share it with my clients. Now here's the question, when I create the interface, is there any way that I can show a numbered list for each record? For example, if there are 100 products within the database and I create an interface to create Category 1 with 10 products, I would like them to be numbered 1 through to 10 and then Category 2 may have 12 products and I would like them to be numbered 1-12. Basically, I would like to point to each of the records in the interface and be able to explain to my clients each product using this numbering system.Any help is greatly appreciated!
When using the interfaces in Airtable, I face a strange problem. When I create a new interface, I can set a filter. When I like the interface, I would like to duplicate the interface, but with a different filter. How can I do this? Thank you!, Simon
Is there a way to have a button on the interface run a script or automation to export data to a csv? If it can be done with a script please advise on the script code needed. Thank you in advance.
Hi, I need to allow interface users to export table data to excel, without giving direct access to the table itself. Is it possible using a script, triggered by a button?
