Hi Airtable Dev team.You've royally screwed us freelancers with the latest update to the Interface! 🙎I understand that the idea is that there are now templates but first we had to toggle the permissions to expose the create button. Now! Fields that were mandatory are no longer and many other fields have suddenly appeared.We convince people to use Airtable and now sit with egg on our faces with questions like - "Why is this field no longer there?", "Why can I now see XYZ?", etc.Better QA!

Hello,I'd like to embed a WebView or iFrame into Interface Designer (passing some fields as URL argument). An other option is to display HTML content (not MarkedDown stored in a field).I wondering where / if there is a documentation to code custom Interface Designer components ?I don't want to buy a third party plugin ... As a workaround, I'm considering coding a ChromeExtension to hack that but it's very kludgeMy usecase is VERY basic ... seeing a field containing HTML or previviewing an URL. I don"t understand why AirTable prevent that feature? (or I might missed it ?)Thanks !

Hi team ~ I've created a tracker in grid view to track graphics workflow at our company. I'm wondering if there is a way that I can share the base and have editable cells within (mainly dropdowns, similar to the function in form view) so those without a licence can edit/update? We don't have a huge budget for a licence so can't afford to have everyone as editors. My only other thought is to create a generic login for our staff to use as editors and update as needed. Happy to take on any suggestions! Thanks!

Beginning on 8/7/2023, when entering a new record in my application’s Interfaces, I noticed that the CREATE button has disappeared from the ADD RECORD Form.  Verified that all of my Interfaces are impacted as well.  Also, all databases.  I have submitted an Issue Ticket to Airtable Support.Any ideas as to the cause?  Am I overlooking something?  Is this a bug introduced with Airtable’s latest release?  Any recommendations?

Good day.There's an issue across the board when it comes to creating new records. It used to be that a person would fill the details and then click on the "x", which would create a record. This no longer works.Now it shows a 'create' button when the Interface is in the Edit Mode but doesn't appear when published? This is a big problem since no-one can create records via the Interface Designer!    

I am trying to setup our production tracker using Interfaces.  I am running into one very big issue though.  I have forms (currently in page designer) that need to be printed at certain times throughout the progress of each record.  I know I can add a URL to the button but we currently have the button setup to open that specific record in page designer and would like it to stay that way.  The button does not have to open to page designer if there is another solution that would pull data from that record and put it on a page that can be printed.  I am unsure if a script or API would accomplish this but would appreciate any help.

Okay, this is another one that I feel weird asking. I can't imagine I'm truly the first person asking... I've poked around here, Reddit, etc. and I haven't seen a direct answer so I'm asking— and apologizing if I'm being a goober who missed the super-clear response in some other post/exchange.  Sooooo, Obsidian! We're trying to increase adoption of using our interfaces to update project status - it would be great if we could have our status field anchored in the interface header and be editable!Even having it in the first section isn't working for the team - they need it in their face 🙂

After figuring out how to get the URL for individual sidesheets, and attaching that URL to a button and using the 'Open URL in record' action, the correct sidesheet is opened, but only after refreshing the page.I realize this is something of a hack to get sidesheets that aren't on the page to open, but has anyone had any luck preventing the page from refreshing, but rather just open the requested sidesheet as usual?Open url in new tab is unchecked. 

Hello the Airtable Community! I’m working on a series of Airtable interfaces to handle different aspects of projects. It’s a kind of top-down structure, with interfaces drilling down into linked records e.g. clients > projects > invoices. The typical interfaces structure looks like this: Client A (Interface I) – Project A (Interface II) — Invoice A (Interface III) Client B (Interface I) – Project B (Interface II) — Invoice B (Interface III) To navigate between interfaces in the same client / project context, I’m using record pickers. At the moment, I manually pick the relevant record with the record picker and copy the URL parameters generated by Airtable back to my Airtable base. With such hardcoded URL parameters, I can repeatedly achieve the navigation flow that I’m eventually aiming for. Since the forms layout in the interface is so limited (no ability to add new records in a linked table, no options for lists, grids, etc...), I'm basically using the record details layout as a form for new records entry. The problem is that the solution isn't very elegant. My users have to add a record to a list, and then open the blank record to get into the details. Any idea how to implement a page that would act as a record details form without getting there from a list or grid?

Hello! I am creating a bar chart and am running into a confusing issue. I am trying to basically remove the x-axis values from a chart but cannot do so. I am thinking it a difference in how Airtable stores the fields being used in charts? I am not sure. I need urgent help, yall - all of a sudden a List-based Interface page won't filter.  Here's the deal:I created the List layout in Interface, set my table to Tasks, configured all the visible fields and sorting options.  I want to add a dropdown for the Project Category field which is a lookup field in my tasks table.  The base structure looks like this:Projects > Milestones > TasksSo I lookup the project via the milestone in the task table and use that for the dropdown in the layout.This has worked for the last 10 days I've been using it.  Today it doesn't work.  Choosing an option in the dropdown doesn't affect my list at all.I have also used the built-in filter option to do the same filter and it doesn't work either.Filtering in the base itself works exactly as expected and the other Interface page filter options all work as expected.I created a brand new page with the same settings and it doesn't wor

I want to populate a calculated field using data input into other fields.Example: Q1 = XYZQ2 = ABCCalculated Field = Q1&Q2 = XYZABCIs this possible to achieve in either an interface or a form?Thanks!   

Is there a way to jump directly to an interface page from the record currently selected in the data table.IE, when you select an interface, it displays the data from the currently selected record.

I am working on an invoice in the Page Designer extension and having trouble adding multiple line items. Company A has multiple line items in by Base. The unique identifier is the Company Name "Company A". In Quarter 1, 2023, Company A used 3 different hotels, and has 3 different revenues. I'd like to list on the invoice each of the hotels and their coordinating revenues.Company A, Hotel A, Cost ACompany A, Hotel B, Cost BCompany A, Hotel C, Cost CI'd like to add all of these to my invoice, but right now, only the 1st line is pulling into the invoice.Help! And thank you! 

I have a collaborator on an interface with editor permissions. He can not create a new record (get's a message he does not have permission). Editors should be able to create records. What could be the issue?Thank you for your help.

I was just checking out the docs page of airtable interfaces, and this was at the top, updated July 6. “While elements-based interface layouts are still currently available, we invite you to try the newer. These layouts offer a more streamlined building process that ensures consistency and efficiency throughout your organization.”Does that mean they’re completely removing the customizable, drag-and-drop interfaces? Is this the plan? Because that would completely kill my interfaces.

How/Can you limit the viewing of particular interfaces?  I have created three, but I only want them to be seen by particular people: For instance, can I set it that Lessie can see her's below but not Caramia's? 

I'm wondering if there's a way to allow users configure fields from within an interface? e.g., my use case is that a certain user needs to be able to adjust Kanban columns on the fly by changing available values in a single-select field. They could do this easily in a regular Kanban view in the base, but is it possible to do this somehow in an interface?

The new record detail layout has basically broken my workflow. The old setup allowed me to resize fields, make attachments bigger, add grids of linked records, etc.Now, I cannot do any such thing, I'm limited in a single column or rows. Can we opt out of this to the old one? This has destroyed my ability to keep building on my interfaces.

Hey Airtable Peeps! I’m about a month into the process of migrating most of my company’s core google sheet docs into Airtable, and we’re all loving it! Many things for such an awesome product. I’m building out some Interface Designer dashboards for my boss to get a high-level view of operations, and ran into a snag. In the sidebar apps on the table it defaults to sorting single-select fields by their user order, which is the behavior that I want. This is what it looks like: But on my interface, I created a bar chart that shows each record filtered by a single-select column, but my only sort options are ascending/descending alphabetical. I must be missing something but can't find a way to change this. I have a standard lookup field with a capability to link to new records. When I'm adding a new  record via new record creation form I can only see the IDs of each field:However for the exactly same field, when I edit existing record and click that same field I get this. How do I get similar view when adding a new record so that I can see additional details for each item.    

It seems like when an interface gets any changes and re-publishes, the URL to the interface changes?  This makes setting up automations in slack or anything else based on the interface URL difficult.  Is there a way to create static links to Interface pages that can work with automations?
