We host events that volunteers help to run. We have forms to let volunteers 1) create events and 2) choose events to help with on specific, future date-times (i.e. the only event times are Weds and Thurs 7-8pm). Form 1) needs an event date picker with pre-selected datetimes (i.e. Weds and Thurs 7-8pm for the next three months). Form 2) needs to only show events created with 1) that are in the future i.e. we don’t show past events. So we currently have one table (A) with a column of dates (manually created, though automatically would be great - different problem). Then a linked record field in the main events table (B) allows people to select one of the dates from that column. The problem is that, in Form), I’m not sure how to filter events with a future date because the linked record field that links dates from the dates table doesn’t treat linked items as dates. One way round it would be to just have a Date column in events table (B), but that can’t be a multiple choice column so we

I’ve used @ScottWorld’s excellent suggestions from this post to append values to a multi-link field (whether it already has values or not, so slick). Now I’m trying to do the same for a collaborator field, and I’m running into trouble. You can set a collaborator field by providing the name or email address of the Airtable user, but it seems like appending to an array of collaborators requires you to use their internal IDs, which I’m not sure how to look up. I’ve tried a variety of array merge/append tricks, but nothing seems to work. Anyone know how to either append to a collaborator field using email address or name, or lookup the internal Airtable user id from an email address to use for the append operation?

We have our jotform integrated with Airtable, so when someone completed the form, it will automatically create a record in airtable. All fields are matched and are being updated, except for “attachment” field. It is not uploading the attachment on the airtable record (no pdf, word, image file) When you click on the uploaded attachment, it only shows jotform blank page

Hi, I have a Zap importing values separated by a comma - I cannot change this. So my field looks something like this: 55.00,55.00 I am attempting to create a sum from these values, but the ending value is 0.00 I do not want to create a rollup field on another sheet only to import the values back into the original sheet - that’s double redundant and another thing to keep track of. Is there a formula that can combine those comma-separated values into a sum? Thank you

Hi. I got two Airtable bases… in the second one I’m bringing tables from the first one, which I then use to create linked fields in other tables. In a MAKE scenario, before proceeding to next module, I need to sync these tables in AT. I’d like to execute the manual syncing process at a certain step from within my MAKE scenario… how can I get around doing this? Is it possible? Are there options/workaround via API calls, AT automations, or even bringing Zaps into MAKE, or using other 3rd party tools? Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks!

Help! I have a base which about 75 people need to view every day (multiple times a day), so I have been sharing the read-only base view which does use a password. Now it’s failing to work and saying “Login expired - please re-login.” Yes, they re-enter the password and try refreshing the page. As soon as we try to add a filter, error message appears. Does anyone have any solutions for this or know why it’s suddenly happening? Thanks in advance! The error box can be dragged to the side and use the base, so that’s what I’m telling my users to do. But super lame?!? Can anyone help me get rid of this bug? Communicating with Enterprise support is ridiculous. Every response takes +24 hours and so far they can’t ‘replicate’ the issue even though I’ve sent them a video showing the issue.

I accidentally added a collaborator to my account. I didn’t realize that I would be billed again for inviting a colleague to join Airtable and be a collaborator on my account. Is it possible to speak to someone at Airtable about this charge? Can we remove the collaborator and get a refund or a partial refund since I really don’t want a collaborator for the workspace? I have a 2 columns that would be amazing to use as a single select. Unfortunately, I need a formula to find them. Is there a way to use scripting to run a formula to enter into the column allowing it to be used as single select?

I created a table that syncs with two different google calendars (mine and person2). This table is then linked to our contacts table to have a history of the meetings we’ve had with each contact. There are times where both myself and person2 will meet with a contact and these instances are creating separate records in the meetings table and then both records are being linked to the contact. How can I avoid this duplication? I thought that I could use an automation to search when a new record is created for another record where the google calendar ID is matches the new record but the airtable ID doesn’t. After that, I was planning on creating a script to delete the found record. However, because this is a synced table, I wondered if this would simply end up running infinitely because the event will attempt to sync each time Airtable sees that there is no record for the event and then the automation would delete it, rinse and repeat.

Is there a way to update an Airtable record with changes made by API to a row in Google Sheets? I know Integromat has a ‘Watch Records’ module that does this but I believe it only works with manual changes to a Google Sheet. I have a JotForm that I use as a sort of approval workflow. The JotForm gets sent back and forth to different people and every time a JotForm is edited, JotForm makes the changes to Google Sheets but these changes don’t make it to Airtable as these changes are done by JotForm by API.

Hi, I’m new to Airtable programming, so I apologize if this is obvious for the most of you… Is it possible to directly retrieve external data from another website (through their API) ? I’m working on a personal movie db, and it would be nice, that if I give in a column the unique IMDB id, it will get me the IMDB rating automatically in another column ? If not possible via Formula, how should I proceed ? Thx for any helpfull reply

My table has a notes column and I’d like to reference another record within the same table by saying “please see here”, with "here " being a URL link to another record. As an Airtable user, I can click the link and it works - I can see the other record. However, the non-Airtable users get blocked. They’re being asked to request access to the entire base, which I would not like to do. Is there a way for the non-Airtable users to view the record URLs in the comments section without creating a new column for linked records? Thanks!

This is probably a stupid question but when designing a table, should the primary key (first column) be unique or not? In my case, I have Projects and Tasks like Projects (Fix House, Fix car) Tasks (Repair bathroom sink, buy new steering wheel, replace lug nuts) Should the primary key be the Projects or the Tasks? In other words, should the table design look like?

I think that Google Fusion Tables is shutting down, which means that my choropleth maps (i.e. maps with states and other areas shaded) will no longer be accessible. I want to move everything to Airtable, but on the Map block I only see the ability to identify points and not areas. Any ideas?

I have three fields, two are field type Number, one is Formula. The objective is the sum of the numbers in the result field. (1() enter W, (2) enter D, (3) result (W*D) In fields (1) and (2) I have selected ‘allow negative numbers’ Each row has for fields (1) and (2( whatever numbers I enter, for example: W D Result 5 5 25 -3 -2 I expect -6 but what i get is 6 which means that the sum is 31, not 19 How can i ensure that when a negative number is entered, the result is substracted from the sum? I have found an inefficient way around tthis by having a fourth field Type: number and allow negatiive number, into which i enter the result manually, eg: Result 25 -6 (sum: 19) tia

Hey, New to Airtable here and can’t tell if I’m going crazy or I’m missing a trick. Hopefully the later! I have a USERS table that captures NAME, COMPANY, EMAIL ADDRESS ETC when a user signs up. I have a Clients Table that holds further client info e.g. COMPANY NAME (Link to users table), USERS etc. The problem I am facing is that I am trying to pull all email addresses of users associated with a COMPANY name, into a USERS field in the CLIENTS table. Hope that makes sense, and any help is massively appreciated!

Is there a way to set up a lookup field without duplicates? I asked this here and I just noticed that the response didn’t fully solve the issue: The rollup formula ARRAYUNIQUE(values) still includes duplicates.
