I have read multiple posts on the subject, but none seem to quite answer my newbie questions. I have 2 tables: Animal and Priority. Animal table contains a list of animals and a link to a list of priorities in Priority table. The animals are grouped by Priority, which automatically sorts by Priority Name in alphabetical order. However, what I want is to sort by Priority Order. I’ve tried sorting by Lookup Fields, but that does not change the ordering. Basically, I want to see a list of animals ordered from Must Have, Nice to Have, Undecided, and Definitely Not. I’m wracking my brain trying to figure out how I can make this work. I have an Items table. I have a Locations table. I have a Location Records table that joins the two. An Item has many Location Records, and belongs to a Location through its most recent Location Record, and it has a history of all its past Locations through the sequence of all its Location Records. In the Items table, I can Rollup Location Records–>{Date}–>MAX(values) to pull the {Date} out of the most recent Location Record. But how can I pull the {Location} out of the most recent Location Record, so that I can display an Item’s {Current Location}? I can Rol

What happens to record links, interface and syncs, if i restore a snapshot … how can i restore it back to the same base ? Will i copy and paste all records back into the main base ? How come a free plan cant restore a snapshot but the creator can only do this ? Show synced records and new records all on one timeline view Hello everyone I greatly appreciate any help in advance, I just need to be pointed in the right direction The Idea: Create a top level company holiday planner, including dates for holiday, sick leave and public holiday. Sync planner table with a lower level base, lets call it project planner. This will include projects, business trips etc. The end goal is to be able to view synced employee holiday planner and the local projects all on one timeline. With holiday data only changeable from its own base and all project data changeable The Issue: When using the sync table function, no additional records can be added to the table in the project base. I created a second table just for the projects records but also cannot find way to show both tables on one timeline. Any idea how best to do this? Wanted to share a table and give them the rights to add comments to the table (in pre-defined columns for each individual). Right now I can only share “read-only” rights as I tried to share an editable table and was suddenly charged for 2 additional licenses. Could do this process via Google Sheets (and share the sheet with family members), but I like the format for Airtable. Any thoughts??

My department tracks work tasks in Airtable. Occasionally someone edits something by mistake. The editor account can prevent changes the fields. Is there some one way to prevent a user from editing another user’s record. Example: Chris can edit any record he creates but cannot edit or delete records created by other users.

We host events that volunteers help to run. We have forms to let volunteers 1) create events and 2) choose events to help with on specific, future date-times (i.e. the only event times are Weds and Thurs 7-8pm). Form 1) needs an event date picker with pre-selected datetimes (i.e. Weds and Thurs 7-8pm for the next three months). Form 2) needs to only show events created with 1) that are in the future i.e. we don’t show past events. So we currently have one table (A) with a column of dates (manually created, though automatically would be great - different problem). Then a linked record field in the main events table (B) allows people to select one of the dates from that column. The problem is that, in Form), I’m not sure how to filter events with a future date because the linked record field that links dates from the dates table doesn’t treat linked items as dates.

I’ve used @ScottWorld’s excellent suggestions from this post to append values to a multi-link field (whether it already has values or not, so slick). Now I’m trying to do the same for a collaborator field, and I’m running into trouble. You can set a collaborator field by providing the name or email address of the Airtable user, but it seems like appending to an array of collaborators requires you to use their internal IDs, which I’m not sure how to look up. I’ve tried a variety of array merge/append tricks, but nothing seems to work. Anyone know how to either append to a collaborator field using email address or name, or lookup the internal Airtable user id from an email address to use for the append operation?

We have our jotform integrated with Airtable, so when someone completed the form, it will automatically create a record in airtable. All fields are matched and are being updated, except for “attachment” field. It is not uploading the attachment on the airtable record (no pdf, word, image file) When you click on the uploaded attachment, it only shows jotform blank page

Hi, I have a Zap importing values separated by a comma - I cannot change this. So my field looks something like this: 55.00,55.00 I am attempting to create a sum from these values, but the ending value is 0.00 I do not want to create a rollup field on another sheet only to import the values back into the original sheet - that’s double redundant and another thing to keep track of. Is there a formula that can combine those comma-separated values into a sum? Thank you

Hi. I got two Airtable bases… in the second one I’m bringing tables from the first one, which I then use to create linked fields in other tables. In a MAKE scenario, before proceeding to next module, I need to sync these tables in AT. I’d like to execute the manual syncing process at a certain step from within my MAKE scenario… how can I get around doing this? Is it possible? Are there options/workaround via API calls, AT automations, or even bringing Zaps into MAKE, or using other 3rd party tools? Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks!

Help! I have a base which about 75 people need to view every day (multiple times a day), so I have been sharing the read-only base view which does use a password. Now it’s failing to work and saying “Login expired - please re-login.” Yes, they re-enter the password and try refreshing the page. As soon as we try to add a filter, error message appears. Does anyone have any solutions for this or know why it’s suddenly happening? Thanks in advance! The error box can be dragged to the side and use the base, so that’s what I’m telling my users to do. But super lame?!? Can anyone help me get rid of this bug? Communicating with Enterprise support is ridiculous. Every response takes +24 hours and so far they can’t ‘replicate’ the issue even though I’ve sent them a video showing the issue.

I accidentally added a collaborator to my account. I didn’t realize that I would be billed again for inviting a colleague to join Airtable and be a collaborator on my account. Is it possible to speak to someone at Airtable about this charge? Can we remove the collaborator and get a refund or a partial refund since I really don’t want a collaborator for the workspace? Hi community :wave: . How can you see the date a comment was left on a record? At the moment, our set up only shows the number of days since the comment was left. I need to see the actual date.
