Hi I have a very basic base with a list of locations and their details. I would like to know if there is a way once the address is ‘clicked’ in a record it can take me to a maps product such as Google maps, etc. that will allow directions/location information? Thanks

I don’t think I have come across this before… Activity shows ‘records were linked’ = ‘contacts’, but there are no records linked (at least not anymore) and the activity doesn’t show they were removed? Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi All, at the moment i am looking for a tip regarding previews from Google Drive folders. In my table i have a field where i place links from Google Drive folders - and i wonder if there is a way i can have a small preview of this image (file) in another field in the same table. Actually i can only see the https://… link but its pretty unhandy having to click on every link provided to check the image, the link is leading to. Is there a way. Thanks in advance Best Martin

Is my first time with this tool and I’m not sure that is a DataBase but I need something that is commonly used in excel with function lookv or filter. For example, I have so many records in the DB but I need to fill (I think in a grid) show me the coincident results for example: I have pipes and connectors and so many things in a store but I need when I put pip… the airtable show me the different pipes to choose for example 1/2" pvc, 1/2"iron, 1"steel, 1 1/2"pvc to add to the inventory or if I know the reference the same I put the initials and airtable show me all references that begin with this letters to add or discount the quantity I don’t know if I was clear.

I’ve synced two bases - we will call them Base 1 and Base 2. Base 1 now shows cells A,B,C from Base 2, but I also want Base 2 to show cells D, E, F from Base 1. Is this possible?

Hi everyone, I love the new syncing features but has anyone managed to work around the 1-way syncing? You can’t edit cells that are in the synced database even if it’s a dropdown list.

We are starting to use Airtable forms for most of our registration forms but whenever we share a link through text or on social media, the link preview is a design that says Airtable, and does not actually look like it’s the right link before folks click on it. Is there a way to change this to a custom image? I saw a topic on this in 2020 but it went unanswered—wondering if there has been development since then.

Besides Base Schema, what options do I have to take a pre-built Airtable base and create a visual map/visual workflow to see how everything is connecting, and if a field is a single/multi select, what those options are? As you see in the screenshot, there is a lot going on, and I would like to get this cleaned up!

We use airtable for managing our contacts. So we were updating some of the names in our Airtable database. We tried to paste in the new title for one contact, and somehow it pasted that text into every single field in the entire database! The undo function doesn’t work, and there are no “snapshots” of the dabs we can roll back to, even though they are supposed to be taken automatically form time to time. We can see in the expanded records that the history is still there, but we can’t find any way to restore the data… Can anyone help?

I’ve read through a number of posts on how to set up attendance tracking, and I haven’t found exactly the solution I’m hoping I can build. What seems to make sense to me is something like this: Student Table: Unique Student ID# | Student Name | Sessions Attended Course Sessions Table: Date of each class meeting | Topic | Assignment | Students who attend Attendance Table: Date/time stamp (collected on student entering class) | Student ID Eventually, I’d like to be able to have them scan a QR code as they enter, but I don’t mind working manually for a while. I mention that just so you won’t think I’m too obsessive for collecting the date/time. I need to be able to record whether each student was On Time (including early), Late, or Absent. It seems to me like I could setup a calculation in the Session table that would check the attendance timestamps and record every student as on time, late, or absent for that session. Hey All! I’ve been using Timeline View to look at our Project Managers project assignments over time and also use the resource allocation summary to see how their workload is. In the past, when scrolling horizontally through the dates, if a records start date went offscreen, there was an arrow indicator that the record extended beyond the window, and the record text would remain on screen and visible. A couple months ago, something changed and when scrolling the record text doesn’t stick to the left of the window making it really difficult to see what projects I’m looking at in this view depending on the timing. Is this a bug or a setting that I accidentally touched that I can revert? Any help is appreciated as we use this view a lot at our company and it’s been a thorn in our side for some time.

Hi So I have a formula: SET_TIMEZONE(NOW(),‘Europe/London’) This should return the current time in London. However it is out by 1 hour. Currently it is 15:28 but the formula returns 14:28. Is this because airtable is not aware of British Summer Time? Can this be fixed?

Hello hive mind, Do you hate it when someone knows just enough Airtable to want to do something complicated, but not enough Airtable to build it without asking for help? Sorry, I’m about to do this exact annoying thing. :grimacing: I have a zillion bases for grouping/sorting at will, but calculations/rollups/etc are my weak spot, and I haven’t learned interfaces yet. I admit this base is out of my wheelhouse, but I’m determined to learn in order to help this charity. I am happy to do my own homework once I know what terms I need to look up in order to learn the relevant features. Here’s my context: I am building an inventory base for a pregnancy center non-profit. Everything has to be on the free plan because they have a very slim margin. Each entry will be a category, not individual items, so we can keep it under 1200 entries. Hello, I’ve used Airpower to import all my product, customer and order information into Airtable. Now I would like to create a form for my wholesale reps to key in new wholesale orders. I see a way to add multiple products from the variant tab. But I don’t see a way in the forms view to allow them to choose products and associate units with those line items. For example, they would order: product 1 - 3 units product 2 - 7 units etc. I’m hoping to create a new order workflow where we can approve these and have them added to our order tab as a draft order, then trigger an invoice sent to the customer and rep. Hi All, I am new to connecting AirTable to Power Query using API. I’m able to create a query by using the following parameters: API_KEY BASE_ID TABLE_ID And below is what I use for the query (from AirTable site). This will only pull in one table at a time. How do I pull in multiple tables at a time? Also, I have a column that is a calculation that is pulling in as “list”. Basically, here is my problem. I synced an airtable view to help manage our service providers all over the country. The view contains customer name & city information. Table 1 is synced, so the information is not editable in primary field. Table 1: Primary field is customer name and there are secondary fields for CITY that are also synced from the original Base. Table 2: I need to pull CITY into the primary field for table two and I need it to automatically update whe When onboarding new service providers, I would like to be able to select a “CITY” from a lookup field that corresponds to our “CUSTOMER”. I get checkin and check our dates from an outside source, and need to add hours to the date field in order to set a specific time in a calendar. The date with default time is stored as: 3/6/2020 12:00am the variable for this field is {Start date} I need to add 15 hours to this calendar entry to make the check-in time 3/6/2020 3:00pm I use this formula, in order to be able to have the “15” a variable, I use CONCATENTATE to all for a variable in the future. DATETIME_PARSE( DATETIME_FORMAT( DATEADD({Start date}, CONCATENATE(’+’,15),‘hours’) ,‘M/DD/YYYY h:mm’)) the result of this is… 3/6/2020 3:00am it should be 3:00pm… if I add another 12 hours - + 27h the results are… 3/7/2020 3:00am am I missing something… why can’t I get the time into the pm half of the day?

I have a 4-room B&B, and I’m created a base (“Stats” base) that shows that stats of my B&B (i.e occupancy rate, occupied nights etc). I linked that to a “Bookings” based where there is a separate column for check-in and check-out dates. They’re also linked by month I have a guest who booked from February 26 to March 26. How do I pro-rate that entry so that 3 days will be counted in Feb, and 26 days will be counted in March?

I am new to Airtable. I am on free tier now. I have an extension to run a script - essentially for lookup. I am using a script for lookup as my base needs two conditions for reference and I cannot use the native Lookup functionality. My issue is that the script works perfectly for the first 15 records. The script stops working from record 16 onwards (I have total 29 records currently). To check whether there was anything wrong in records 16-29 that was causing trouble, I copied the base, deleted the first 15 records and ran the script. The script worked perfectly in the copied base on the remaining records (erstwhile record no. 15-29). I am quite perplexed. Can anyone guide me why is this happening. I checked if I had exceed the record limit. The total records across tables in my base adds up to ~600. Thanks in advance for helping

Hi all, lovely to be part of this community :slightly_smiling_face: I’m looking for a way to create badass overview over all of my tasks, from a homescreen base. I would want a simple homebase that shows me what to focus my attention on, pulled from different tables in different bases a) posts and articles that are in a specific phase (pulled from table 1 in base a) b) tasks (pulled from table 2 in base a) c) tasks (pulled from base b t/m infinite) ← my clients have their own base d) trigger reminders from a script i run (pulled from table 3 in base a) Is this doable? Is this the right setup? What with the clients all having their own base and such. Love to hear y our perspective on this. Thanks for you time!

Is there a way to quickly see all of the different values in a field, similar to how you can click to filter on a column in Excel and see all of the possible options (similar to screenshot from Excel below)? As an example, I have a field that is mostly blank but has a few records with varied single line text data. I want to quickly see what those different single line text lines are to see if I want to filter on any of them, but they’re not consistent enough to make it a single select field. For another example, I have a field of various dates and would like to filter by certain dates, but don’t know all of the choices off the top of my head. Is there a way to quickly see the list of choices without creating a separate view or using a pivot table? Again, I could choose a type of ‘single select field’ but it doesn’t organize the dates nicely to see by year/month/day like you can see when clicking to filter values in Excel. Thanks!

I got a notice from airtable. my records are over 1200. and I counted all records in each table in 1 base. (1 includes sync table from another base). my detailed questions are below. Is airtable import all records when I sync records from another base even if I filtered some records? Is there any other hidden things I need to know when I count records. I counted all current records and all synced records, but still 100 records difference between my count and airtable count.

Hi. I insert fields left and right in my table. I go about my business. I come back and Airtable has reset the order of the fields clearly into the Create Date order. Which means as i build out my table - and it is a big one! - i have to manually move every single column back to the position i had created it in. There is not bulk move function so this is painful. Additionally, there is no reason for Airtable to do this. IF we are given an Insert Left or Insert Right function it must be because it is recognised that we want This new field in This particular location. So why does it overwrite and default back to create date order? It is driving me nuts. Any workarounds? Oh, also, I found an old topic post where someone suggested that “Because it is a database it does not care about field order(Airtable does not anyway)”. But this is not at all true… a database should not randomly decide to re-order fields and column order EVER. Help! Please and thank you :slightly_smiling_face:
