Banging my head on the table here - I cannot seem to figure how to link tables that I have imported from another database, having converted them to Excel. I have something basically like this: Table1 Table1_Key | Table1_Field1 | Table1_Field2... Table_2 Table2_Key | Table1_Key | Table2_Field1 | Table2_Field2... Data imports fine, but when I create the link, it just doesn’t work. I’m sure I’m overthinking something here, I just cannot seem to figure what it is. Matt

I have a student assigned to a homeroom in the column “current homeroom”. I am adding a checkbox “Withdrawn”. I would like to do this: IF the student is withdrawn THEN move the value from “current homeroom” to “homeroom 22-23”. The result being: cell in column current homeroom: empty, cell in homeroom 22-23: previous homeroom teacher. How can I do this ? Do I need to use the remarkable integromat or can I do it without external tools just with formula?

I’d like to insert an image in my base guide. I think I’m using the proper Markdown syntax, but it’s simply not working. I get the impression from this page that this should be possible. It says You can also use Markdown within the base guide to add headers, links, emojis and images. It works here in the Community. Here’s the exact Markdown I’m using, followed by the result here. Can I get the same result in the Base Guide?

I’m having some trouble migrating from FileMaker Pro to Airtable… I am able to export and import 99% of my data/contacts with out issue – mapping, organizing, etc. The only issue I’m running into is having the multiple mailing lists these contacts are attached to map to a single row. For example: John Doe (on FMP) is on mailing lists A, B, and C. When I import to Airtable, it lists John Doe as being on mailing list A, but then lists an “unnamed record” as being on list B, and another one on list C. It ends up being that all of the proper contacts are followed by unnamed rows with the remainder of their lists attached. I hope this is making sense… Is there an automation or formula I can set up to merge these into the above (correct) record? Or any tips for making my FMP output group these together, instead of having them as separate records?

Hi everyone, Wanted to ask if this was possible (whether through an extension or formula or automation): We have excel files that are uploaded onto Airtable as attachments (Table 1) We currently download these files manually and copy-paste the values onto another table (Table 2) in Airtable Is there a way to automatically extract the values from the excel file in Table 1 and update/create records of those extracted values in Table 2? I have a list of records in grid view and gallery view - gallery view is much more preferred for my use. However, when I manually rearrange the columns in grid view, they don’t automatically update the order for the gallery view as well. Is this possible to do? It seems like there may be a simple way to do this, but I’m not really sure.

Hi all, Got a real brain teaser here (or at least one my brain can’t handle lol). I’m trying to calculate the ACTUAL DURATION - EXPECTED DURATION of ticket processing time for our team. The EXPECTED DURATION field is calculated: NO OF TICKETS(integer)*5.5(mins)/2(agents)+30(mins) Notes: -5.5mins is our average handle time for 1 ticket -we have 2 agents on our team -each agent receives a 30min break per day This formula currently returns a decimal value (I have tried to set this as a duration but it’s giving incorrect results). The ACTUAL DURATION field is calculated: TIME START - TIME FINISH This formula returns a duration value I am wondering if there is a way to produce this master formula to let me know when our team goes over expected time to resolve tickets and vise-versa so I don’t physically have to do the calculation every day. Please help!

Evening all, As part of the warehouse inventory base i’m building, i’m also looking at the spend, profit and ROI of each record, with the intentions of displaying these on an interface for users to see. Above is how i’ve got my current table set up. The Spend and Profit values are added in manually, and then a formula (profit / spend) is used for the ROI field. This works perfectly for each individual record, however i came across an issue when looking at the totals. In my interface, i’m showing the total spend, and total profits using the Number element as a field summary. Unfortunately with ROI i cannot simply add up the percentages as this wouldn’t work. I need to be able to do Total Profit / Total Spend in order to get the correct value. Unfortunately i’m struggling to find a way to do this, as i cannot apply formulas to a Number element in the interfac

Hi! Below is the formula I’m using DATEADD({Fast Action $7K Paid},30,‘days’) I want to prevent the “#ERROR!” message from appearing when the “Fast Action $7K Paid” box is left empty. This field won’t always be used and the error message constantly showing is a tad frustrating. What do I need to add to the above formula to ensure that when nothing is put in the “Fast Action $7K Paid” then the error message won’t show in the next box? Thank you for any and all help!

Hello! I am currently editing my base and trying to create different grids within one section. However, whenever I create a new grid, it copies the data and information from the first grid in the section. How do I prevent this? ETA: this is happening in multiple bases. All new grid views are populating with the same data across all bases.

I need help figuring out an issue I’m having when filtering a view using a lookup field. I have a project tab and a task tab set up. For the tasks, I have task owners set up. The tasks work in a chronological order. The first task needs to be completed before task 2 can start, and so on. For the projects, I have a formula set up that automatically updates the project status when someone completes their task using a checkbox. I want to have a view for each person in the task tab – where they can see all tasks they have to do, but I want them to ONLY be able to see the tasks where they are up to complete the task (aka the task(s) before them are all completed and the status of the project aligns with their task). I have it set up where it currently filters for the task owner, the project status (through a lookup field from the project tab), and if the task has been marked complete through the checkbox.

This just started as of 5 mins ago. I can no longer make edits to a Text field in a table in a base. The Chrome browser just errors out completely. When I open Developer Tools, I see that the updatePrimitiveCell call is failing with 503 errors. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

This seems simple but I am not sure how to accomplish this. I have my educators complete a form that requires them to enter their course start dates in ISO. This format is important for some concatenate fields and dropdown menus in other tables and forms, and thus I cannot change the format when the forms are completed. Currently, I am asking my instructors to enter the date twice: Once as ISO and once as friendly. In order to avoid entry mistakes and disgruntlement amongst the ranks, I would love to be able to do this with a formula. In short, I would my like instructors to enter the date as ISO and then in a second field the friendly date format populates magically. This: 2021-06-11 becomes June 6, 2021 in a second field. Hey! I recently added the Maps extension and connected the Google API, however, when it comes to the next steps I’m stumped at what to do. For context, we are a small non-profit that offers two programs, and this one specifically provides diapers, wipes, and formula. When our mamas submit request forms with their full address, we want to capture the distance between their home and our Diaper Bank. If they’ve selected ‘contactless drop-off’ and their home address is outside of the GA perimeter (xx radius) then their status will change to ‘office pick-up’ and send an automated message. Is this possible? And if so, what do I need to do or what resources are available for me to attempt the setup? Thanks for the help!

Hi, When trying to filter conditions in my grid view I select WHERE (Facility). Then I need to select an OPTION (which facility). The problem is that not all options are coming up (facilities) This problem exists only in the shared view link. Hello all, I’m working through the parent-child relationships of a self-linked table. I need to build a hierarchy or path which traverses a multi-level hierarchy using a “child” relationship. Some other solutions in these forums are focused on a “parent” relationship column, such as the excellent solution by @Justin_Barrett here: https://community.airtable.com/t/parent-child-tree-hierarchy/44094 Using the above solution as an example, I would like to build the following hierarchy: I’m open to other feedback on how construct this, even if it isn’t a scripting solution.
