I’m new to Airtable Thanks in Advance

I tried to copy a linked record cell down, but it returned a wong record. I have a table of events, the name of the event (1st column of the table) will be reused every 3 years (same name on a different date). I have another table of event attendance. I tried to copy an event (a linked record) to other rows which are different attendees of the same event. The record returned in other rows are not the one I copied, it is another event with the same name, but it was 3 years ago. Video Capture for reference I copied the event down, but it shows a wrong date. The date is a lookup of the event. Does copying linked record processed with the recordID or the first column? Is it a bug or I have done it wrong? Thanks for your help!

Hello, I am trying to create reports via Power BI using the data I have on my Airtable database. I followed the tutorial on the airtable website (https://support.airtable.com/hc/en-us/articles/4403440453015-Sending-Airtable-data-to-Microsoft-Power-BI-Power-Query) to create the link between the two tools but I get an error message, as you can see below. Translated into English : Expression.Error: Sorry… We could not convert the null value to a Record type. Details: Value= Type=[Type] Do you know how I can correct this error message? Thanks a lot!

I have a linked field from one table to another. on the table itself I sort them in order of date, but when I click into the linked field they dont seem to be in any order. can these be re-ordered automatically?

Hi all, I have a team of people who need to import data into airtable. I dont want them to actually go into airtable and import themselves. An ideal example would be, the user creates a CSV or XLS doc, saves it to a specific place, then airtable sucks it up and imports as new rows into a specific table… Any suggestions or thoughts on this? I have a view with a linked field to another view. When using the Download CSV option on the view the resulting export provides the values of the linked field and not the record ID. I understand that this makes sense but for my use case, I need the record ID’s as well. Is there a way for me to export a CSV of a view and get the Record ID’s instead of (or as well as) the values of a linked field? Thanks! :slightly_smiling_face:

Is the API Rate Limit tied to an API Key? Or to an APP ID? Or a combination of both? I have developed several websites that pull and/or sync data with Airtable, and while none of them individually will generate more than 5 requests per second, I’m now concerned that (since they’re all using the same API Key) they will collectively generate more than 5 requests per second. However, if the Rate Limit is tied to the API Key and APP ID, I have nothing to worry about as each application is built using a different Airtable Base. Please advise! Thanks!

The PIVOT table in airtable summarises data. But I want to view data in columns dependendent on a given criteria. Please see attached image for clarity. I want the columns based on student names to see all students performance at a glance

I have a large table of entertainers, bands etc and calendars for each of them (around 300). I am looking for an app or a script where someone outside of airtable can search a single date or a date range and see which of those bands are available on that date.

I have a view set up by groups with subtotals. I want to then sort by the subtotals. is that possible? I can’t figure out how to do this and it seems it would be a basic function.

I have a regex that i tested with Regex101 and it worked. Purpose of this regex is to extract the remaining words after “XXXXX-YYY-ZZZZ” But in airtable i got #Error! Number 1. Extracted a pattern Number 2. I constructed regex exactly the same as that in Regex 101 Number 3. I used this formula What am i missing?

I created some automations that create and update a calendar that we plan on using as a shared events calendar in my organizations office. When I created this, I just tested in on a blank personal calendar I created in Outlook. We have since created a “shared calendar” in outlook. But when I went to change the automations to put events on that calendar, it can’t find it because it only shows the calendars affiliated with my email address account. I am an owner of the shared calendar, and tried logging in using the email address associated with the shared calendar, but it just defaults back to my personal account when I log in. Anyone else have this issue?

Hi guys! I have a table called “Production Stage” (reference below), with lots of dates which can be quite tricky to look at. So I created another table “Project Breakdown” with a simpler view and only have Start & End date. I need to fill up the dates in Project Breakdown by linking it from the Production Stage, but by linking it, it creates a record for the entire line (vertically) instead of just in its specific category. For example, a date was created for “Drug Bust Pre-Production End” in Production Stage, and I want it to appear in Project Breakdown but only under “Drug Bust - Pre-Prod End”. I hope this made sense. Hi Airtable community! I have a field in my table where I need a formula that outputs the name of a project Slack channel based on the name of the project. However, since Slack only allows for lowercase letters, underscores and dashes, the formula writing is a little complicated. I need to convert all letters to lowercase, convert spaces to underscores, and not include anything that’s in parentheses. For example, the project name is: FA22 Project Name / Project Detail (Project Subtitle) And the output I need is: fa22_project_name_project_detail Help is greatly appreciated!

Hi, Every day drivers fill out a form to indicate the vehicle they drove (via reg number) and the amount of charge left in the vehicle ‘Charge’. I would like the form to automatically update the vehicle record in the ‘Charge’ section every time a new form is submitted for that specific vehicle. I need it to be intelligent enough to base the update on the vehicle that was selected. Is there any way to do this? Happy to use extensions if it helps, Thanks!

Hello! I have a base that shows me 3 things. Employee Name Vehicle Reg Vehicle Number (via a lookup based on Vehicle Reg) Route Number These things are dynamic and change every day. Before the employee starts working we ask they fill out a form confirming their name, vehicle and route number. I have configured name & vehicle to prefill when the employee clicks on a link next to their name. I would like to keep the field on the form that asks them to type route number in. However, I would like their answer to be checked against the relevant record and if answer and base info match relay a message to say ‘Correct, please proceed’ if not, ‘ATTENTION, please seek management, do not set off’ (ideally also not allowing them to submit the form) I would also like to add a lookup field that displays the Vehicle Number on the form (if possible!) Hi Airtable Community! I’m in charge of an impact assessment program and Airtable is a great tool for collecting and managing the beneficiaries data. The only problem that I’m facing is that we are active in many regions of Tanzania, where the connection is not great or not present. I was wondering if there is a way to collect data via a cell phone and then send it to airtable once the connection is available. Can the Airtable app do that? In the past we have used a survey app called Kobotools to do that, and it is possible through a webhook to send data in Airtable (at the moment I’m using Make to automate the integration). But it would be great if it would be possible to do that directly in Airtable, in order to have a perfect match between the beneficiaries data collected for the baseline at the entry to the program and the midline and endline data collected throughout the participation to the program of the beneficiaries. I use the dedupe app extensively in a few of my bases to ensure we do not get duplicate data after imports. however recently, and I think this has come in after the extension update the dedupe no longer displays all the information on the card instead it will only highlight the field to dedupe against. This makes it difficult to identify which card has the most up-to-date information, or information that can be merged. Has anyone else experienced this or is it something that’s isolated to me, or has there been an update and configuration I need to go through to make it work the way it did previously?
