Hey everyone! I’m making Airportal, which lets you hook up your Airtable base and make a portal where your customers can log in, and view and edit data that only pertains to them (i.e. with permissions). So I’d love to ask the Airtable community: are you interested in this? The portal works using the email address of your customers from one of your bases (you just need to pick which one!) and then automagically handling the login and making sure they can only see the records related to them. I hope this is going to be really useful for allowing customers to manage their data, their orders, their products… or whatever else you have stored in your bases! UPDATE I was able to get it working with the below code. However, Interfaces does not allow buttons that run scripts, so I’m back to square one on finding a one-way trigger for the linked record creation. We have an existing automation to create a linked record based on the action of a user checking a box in a specific field. The problem is that if the box is unchecked and checked again it creates a duplicate linked record. I would like to replace the box-checking user action with a button, this way the button is one-directional, meaning it can check the box but it can’t uncheck the box. I’m new to scripts and I’m trying to understand how I can make a script that checks the box. I imagine this should be REALLY basic, but I’m struggling to figure it out based on other scripting tutorials I’ve found. Hello all! I’ve searched and have not been able to find a solution for this. I want to be able to reference a column and change all names that appear in one column to PROPER names (which can easily be done in excel) Use Case: Folks are signing up for a service we offer and they input their names in some crazy ways. But we want to convert sloppy username case with Proper case so that the certificates we offer look consistent and classy, instead of having things like: john doe JOHN DOE John DOE etc. We’d like to take those examples and be able to uses a “PROPER” formula to change them to autocorrect to “John Doe” Thanks for any help with this. (hoping there’s some formula or hack we can use that doesn’t require some extra manual steps!)

Individuals in my organization have shared some bases with me which show up in the Bases Shared With Me workspace, but I would like to move them to different Workspaces that correspond with the topic of the shared bases. I do not see how to move a Based from Shared With Me to other workspaces.

Since a few days, all my items in calendar view are viewed as a one hour item. Even if they were noted for a longer duration before. Usually I could extend the duration by drag the item at the bottom. This is now impossible. There is an end date and time set, but even with an end time longer as an hour noted, the item stays as one hour. In the expand view I can see the end time and it’s longer than one hour. This is most annoying since some items have a duration of a whole day, and I need to see that so I know that I can’t plan anything else that day.

We are creating an online library of STEM lessons. Option 1, what we’re currently doing, is make all the lessons visible to the world. With this option, we would like only a few views visibile. (The audience is engineers who go into classrooms. Half of us like the gallery view, half of us like the spreadsheet view, and many of us like one view on the computer and the other on a phone.) Option 2 is limit it so only our members can see it. Is there a View Only Role, so most members would not be able to edit? There doesn’t appear to be an option for this. If only our members see it, I’m happy with more views being visible, as long as they can’t edit them. (Engineers love seeing behind the scenes.) We’re still debating the pros and cons of each method, but ultimately we have to use what the platform allows.

Hey Community! I am working on multiple DBs for integrating clients into a shared DB universe. I am working on a menu ordering system for a ghost kitchen. Is there a way to update the form UI to include the relevant information from the record. Right now for an external user it only shows the formula ID(menu category, size, price) It excludes the descriptor and other relevant info we may attempt to include (photos from a gallery view) Any advice? I want to sync two tables to another base. If I sign up for Pro and decide to go back to Plus or Free what happens to my data? In the destination I would have two synced tables and one other table. In that third table, I would be linking data from the sync tables. Will the data in the 3rd table that came from those synced tables disappear if I downgrade? Or will the sync tables still be there with data, just unable to sync anything new to them? Thanks, Stacey

Hi there, I am trying to set up a system to make a primary field that references unique case numbers. We do the cases by year, so for example, the first case of this year will be 2022001, the next one will be 2022002, etc. But, we want to use the same table from year to year, so ideally I will have a forumla that pulls the year the record was created, and then adds a 4-digit autonumber. Then in 2023 we will automatically start with 2023001, etc. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!

Hi everyone, Is there a way to calculate the days between records? For example - I’m tracking workouts and want to promote daily activities by tracking streaks. Therefore, I need to calculate the days between each record entry. This was my google sheets formula =IFERROR(DATEDIF(A1,A2,“d”),"") but I’m not seeing any way to compare two dates from two different rows of data. Thanks for your help, I’m new to Airtable and after some searching I could only find solutions that leveraged data from the same row vs. 2 individual rows. Anastasia

Hi everyone. I have a base with multiple tables. The first Table is a Masterlist with records of names, job titles, affiliations, and contact information. The rest of the tabs or Tables are personalized versions of this Masterlist, which link names back to the Masterlist using Linked Records. I want to share each Table with the client they have been personalized to, but when I send a link to just the one table, the recipient can’t expand the linked record to see the contact information. They only seem to be able to see the linked record if I share the whole base, which I can’t do, because other clients’ information is in the other Tables. Any ideas?

I’ve imported a CSV where one of the columns contains 2 dates. Like this: 8/23/21 - 11/6/21 In order for me to create a time line I’m thinking I need to create 2 additional fields (one for each date). I know I need to use FIND to tell the formula to find the “-” and work from there, I just don’t know how. Can some one please help me?

Hello, I’d love some help refining a Zap such that it: Copies a text string from an Airtable formula field to an Airtable URL field, and THEN goes to that URL (which is a hard link to an image) and uploads the image file back into an Airtable attachment field. The use-case here is barcoding. We have a formula that is dynamically generating image URLs to barcode images. The links work fine, but I don’t yet have a way of actually pulling and uploading the barcode images we’ve linked to. Any/all help appreciated, THANX!

Hey there, Is there a way to multiplyer an array of number to a constant or variable. I have all my item with a default quantity on a table like so : I’ve created group of item so I only have to add one group to list of the items with their default quantity (to prevent errors) My problem is here on the packing List, when I want to be able to multiply the default quantity per Tower I need but I can’t figure out how to do so. How to multiply an array with “Tower needed” ?

I’d like to move my base currently running on Wrike to Airtable. Exporting/importing my records is easy but I’m concerned that I have 1,000 attachments in my Wrike table and no obvious way to save them all at once. Does anybody have an idea? Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi! Quick poll here: Do you use Cmd or Ctrl + Y for redoing? Yes or no? I mostly use Cmd + Shift + Z, and because Cmd + Y coincides with the history shortcut on Chrome, I end up redoing actions and running into problems because of that. My vote would be to keeping the Redo shortcut only on Cmd + Shift + Z, but maybe there’s a ton of people using Cmd/Ctrl + Y out there… thanks!

I am trying to create a unified platform so that my employees can enter information regarding quotes and pricing. I am somewhat familiar with database structure, so the mechanics of creating the application are fairly clear to me. The piece that I feel I am missing is this: Is there a way to create a user-friendly input method without giving users access to all of the backend mechanics? My concern is (from past experience), users will tend to enter things in the wrong fields or overwrite data accidentally. Other applications I have used (AppSheet, most recently), separate the backend data from the UX components. Is there something similar with Airtable? I am required to create a report every month, but I don’t know how to calculate it automatically, so I consume my own time every month to create the report. I would like to be able to collect the numbers needed for the report as automatically as possible. I have a CRM and on my Interactions table, I want to be able to create an Interaction and select multiple contacts on a record at the same time. The linked record allows linking to multiple records - I can select records one at a time, but this is taking time. I cant shift-click or CTRL-A to choose multiple records. The use case, is if I send a promo email to all my contacts, I want to have one interaction with multiple contacts. I have been looking at this for hours, can’t figure it out. Any help appreciated. Hi folks, I’m trying to create a page designer app which includes a couple different single-select fields. There’s no issue with fields that are entered directly on the view that page designer pulls from—those show up correctly styled as they appear in the airtable grid view, with the rounded bubble & color-coded background. However, any lookup fields consistently show up in page designer as plaintext, even though they also appear with that same bubble styling in the grid view. Is there any way I can get page designer to render these lookup fields with the same bubble styling as well? Or worst case, can anyone think of a good workaround where I can “hack in” some similar color-coding via formulas/etc?
