I’m currently using a four-step Zapier recipe to append the record URL to a newly created record. I’d MUCH rather just have Airtable do this automatically… Does anyone know if that’s possible (the key word is automatically, since I know how to do this manually)? As I discover something new about Airtable almost everyday, I’m wondering if I have just missed this functionality somewhere. Thanks! Jack

I am attempting to build a `table that with a “link to another record” field. The records that I need to link to are in multiple other tables. Is there a way to give this type of field the ability to link to records that reside in more than one table?

I have a Long text field type that can have a paragraph or multiple paragraphs depending on the length of the author’s numbered passage. It would be beneficial to me to have Airtable highlight that word so I can locate it faster in the entry.

I have 4 employees and myself who all track time in seperate bases within my workspace. They are contractors and so I don’t want to give them access to historical records and the workspace in general (because they aren’t employees). How do I ‘sync’ everyone’s records to one central master time sheet? I can’t use Airtable’s syncing because on the pro plan it only supports 3 syncs, and we have more than that but it doesn’t make financial sense to upgrade to the enterprise plan. I have also tried Zapier to no avail: the contractors occasionally edit old records & I want that to reflect in the master base, but in the Zap I created there was no way to update the old record while creating a new record for a new time & description entry. Any help would be appreciated, my brain is fried over this!

Hello Guys, I have a problem with one field getting synced in another place. This is field with lookup values by creating relation column. While syncing this particular table to another base, it only shows one value rather than all. So basically, it is showing unique value only once. Is this the bug or that’s how it works?

hey I shared a record. it went out by Airtable email. how can I see who was emailed later if I want to know the state that was sent? the only way I see going forward is to send the record to myself, vet it, and then forward it to the other party. weird that Airtable doesn’t just call your own email client how can I see who was emailed by Airtable??

Can a form respondent receive a copy of their form data? Can a form respondent subsequently edit their form data? I haven’t found a way to do either, so if there is a way, please point me to it :slightly_smiling_face: Many thanks for your help, Julie

Hi, I am new to Airtable, I have searched but can’t find the answer. I am importing a spreadsheet of about 2500 rows and am planning on adding more, new data. The existing 2500 have been proofed, but the new ones will not have. I want to add a check box and mark the 2500 existing ones to indicate they have been done, but don’t want o have to check 2500 boxes manually. Is there a way to set multiple items to checked? TIA

Hi, If i wanted to import a database from Bubble.io that includes the users, is there a way to do this? Bubble doesn’t store passwords in the accessible part of the database (and that’s a good thing obviously), but I’m wondering if there is still some way to do this which doesn’t force all users to do a password reset? I have an integromat scenario that does the following: When I get an e-mail I tag it in Evernote with a specific tag This triggers integromat to put the data from that email into a table called email updates One of the columns is the content of the email in HTML format. I then host a web portal via Softr which automatically adds the email added to the email table by using the HTML content in the airtable field. Although, none of the images work. Is there a way to make the images appear or perhaps remove the images completely from the email? Preferably make them appear! Thank you Best Wishes, Your Friend

Hi there, I am wondering if it is possible to use an AirTable formula field to take a list of city/state names: … and turn it into a new field representing the timezone that city/state is in. Or would perhaps my best solution be an IF(OR(FIND formula with a list of city/state names and timezones? Any help is appreciated!

Hey - two quick questions. When using the Map App, is it possible to remove markers for things that are not in my base? For example, when in light mode, I can only see my markers, but when in map mode, I can see other things like grocery stores and restaurants. I want some of the features of the map mode, but would like to hide the extra markers. Also, other than a screenshot, does anyone know how to export the map so it can be printed?

In the Help-Database, there is a description saying how to add records directly into the gantt-view by using click-and drag. This doesnt work for me; after having clicked and dragged, the square dissappears as soon as I let loose. Adding records by rightclick works well, but unfortunately doesnt add the group i click on, like it automatically happens in a grouped grid-view . Anyone having the same experience, or even better, a solution for me? (I have all rights to create records in the database and the view is my own. I work in the Windows-App.) Thanks, Peter

I use Airtable to help visualize and share data for our high school. Currently, I have a view that is set up with the following columns: Student (Text Strong) 1st Block Grade (Number) 2nd Block Grade (Number) 3rd Block Grade (Number) 4th Block Grade (Number) 5th Block Grade (Number) I added another column, a formula column, that was intended to display the number of classes each student was failing. The formula works at each level, but the formula itself is too long. Airtable truncates it. I am self-taught with regard to this sort of stuff, so there is probably a more elegant way to do this that fits within Airtable’s capabilities. I anticipate that someone will ask why I do not create a view and use the filter to achieve what I want, and my answer is that I would have to redo the filter every 9-weeks when new grades are being uploaded. With this formula, I can update the column names using Ctrl+F in Google Docs, then copy/paste it into the formula field. Any

Wondering if there’s a way to force the embedded views to keep a collapsed grouped view… When I directly access my base, it keeps all records grouped AND collapsed, but as soon as I embed to my website, the records are grouped but expanded. Any way around this?

Hi all! I need help in calculating the average value of a single select field. I tried the count(values) and it works. However, AVERAGE(values) gives me NaN. In the image 2, I’ve created a roll up field of the linked records An alternative to this is creating a field in the first table with the formula VALUE(Strategy - Top Ten Targets (Pitch 1)) and then using the roll up function on that field and works! But I want to know whether it can calculate the average just by changing the formula in the roll up field. Thanks in advance!

Is there a way to setup ‘is-a’ relationship among tables? ex: We have a Person table with atttributes like email, name etc. We want to setup Employee table that inherits all attributes of Person but has more attributes like salary etc. Is it possible to setup “Employee is a (Inherits from) Person” relationship?

I would like to know whether our team who are not full-time are able to view their respective project details outside of Airtable say via email. As our field leader would not want the team to see details of another team member’s information: Jack - Burundi , Daniel- Tanzania , and Ryan - Mozambique for example, each member should only have read capabilities of their respective projects? Is this possible outside of Airtable via the field manager sending them their project details via email from Airtable or would each team member need some sort of access to Airtable to view their respective projects only?

I have a table that is a list of people. Call it “People”. Say there are 5 people. Then I have a table that’s a list of deals. Call it “Deals”. Say there are 3 deals. Each Deal record has a “closing date”. Then I have a table that’s a list of investments made into Deals. Call it “Investments”. Each person can invest in each deal. So there are as many as 15 records in the Investments table – one for each intersection of Person and deal. I’m trying to come up with a way where, in the People table, I can see the date of the most recent investment each person made. And then I want to sort by that date. This way I can see who hasn’t invested in at least X months and I can reach out to them to try and reactivate them as an investor. I’ve noodled on this for some time but no solution has come to me.
