Hi, I was experimenting with different ways to share a table with a client. I was quite alarmed when I tried “Download CSV”, and the attachments, many containing private/sensitive data, were uploaded to publicly accessible URLs by default without my consent. Is no one else as concerned as I am about this default behaviour? To my mind, unless explicitly stated otherwise, export/download should be exclusively to the local device. Uploading to public URLs should be opt-in. As it functions now, Download CSV is actually “Download CSV and Upload Attachments to the Public Web.” This is a security issue, especially since the user is not given the option to turn it off or even warned about it. Can someone please show me how to wipe/delete these attachments from the web? Thanks, SK

Hi community, I wish to copy-paste my field outside of Airtable in programs such as WhatsApp, Notes or Notion… However, the pasted text ends up with unwanted quotation marks at the beginning and at the end whereas in Airtable there are not visible quotations marks. I am trying to use Integromat to send data from Squarespace to Airtable every time someone places an order. In general, this works very simply, BUT some of the information I need is not available when I try to map the fields in Integromat - specifically the information from the product form. I run an afterschool program where parents purchase the program in Squarespace and part of the checkout process is filling in a product form with their child’s name, age, interests, etc. so that I can group the kids into the right afterschool sections. Is anyone familiar with this type of thing? I am trying to avoid what I currently do which is download the order info for each “product” individually (different days, times and ages) which seems to be the only way I can get the product form info in a squarespace download, but I thought maybe I could identify the specific product first, then feed that to the “watch transactions” trigger and get the right info into Airtable, but everyt

I’ve got a table that lists our customers and who the primary contacts are at each. I’ve gone back and forth between (A) including the person’s name, email address, and phone number all in one cell and (B) that info in separate columns. I can see pros/cons with each approach and am interested in your thoughts/best practices. In approach A, I have the field type as long text, and it doesn’t look very elegant in the table view, as all the information gets jammed together (e.g. John Smith john.smith@domain 260-123-4567) Regardless of your thoughts about the first paragraph, is there a way to format the information so it looks nicer in the grid view.

Hello, in Page Designer I’m displaying linked records in table mode. A look-up of a single select column doesn’t display as a value but shows instead the ID of the single select value. I’m using a formula field to turn the single select column into a text string as a work around, but wondered whether this is this expected behavior?

I have a table for physical addresses and a formula field to convert linked records to an array. Below is an example of the array. “Main Residence: 123 Main, New York, NY 10001”, “Office: 789 Left Ave, 3b, New York, NY 10001”, “Vacation: 456 Right St, New York, NY 10001” How can I extract or leave only the address for the office? If there is an office, show the address and if not, leave the field blank.

I made a payment but did not link it to a workspace. The payment has gone through and the card has been debited. But, i did not realize it was unlinked. Don’t want to ‘lose out on subscription.’ Can you please guide me how to remedy this and link it to an existing or older workspace. Thanks

However, there’s one task that I can’t seem to wrap my head around as it’s a bit difficult to understand the logic behind it, including the correct formulas/linking techniques needed. I will explain it in simple terms: Base: Baskets Table 1: Basket 1 Table 2: Basket 2 Basket 1 contains: apple banana orange pear Basket 2 contains: apple banana orange Basket 2 to Basket 1 match is 75% (3 out of 4 fruit match). I need to calculate and store the result in a record of Basket 2 table that says “75%” (percent field type) that basically means “Basket 2 matches 75% of Basket 1 contents”. Please note that

Hello, HELP! Working with a base containing formatted currency fields but when downloading CSV, the resulting import into MS Excel, converts the currency fields to TEXT. Is there a way to override this so that currency remains as a number field? Thank you in advance Kind regards, Sally

We currently use a Formstack > Zapier > Airtable integration for dozens of forms, primarily because the Airtable form just doesn’t offer the functionality we need (logic, field validation, custom emails/notifications, branding, etc.). We deal with hundreds of users of varying technical abilities so ease of use for the end-user is paramount. All of our forms involve image uploads which are then added as attachments in Airtable. We used to use Google Drive for the image storage but this resulted in some sporadic problems with the images not being added in Airtable. So we ended up just using Formstack’s native storage on AWS. This has worked flawlessly for a few years. However, Formstack will be adding some security measures which will require additional authentication which will only allow Formstack users to access the files. This won’t work for our purposes and will probably break the existing integration with Zapier. Our options are to go back to using Goo

I have a packing list table and a list of trips, which are linked. I want to be able to add 50+ things to pack to a trip at once. What I can do is select all the things and then paste a linked record of a trip to the linked field. However, once there are already links, such paste will overwrite them. What I want to do is to append a trip to many things to pack at once, without touching existing linked trips per thing. I moved from Notion to Airtable, cause I thought that airtable being more of a dedicated database app would be able to do that, but I’m failing to find such an operation. Am I missing something?

Is there any good workaround to specify a global filter that applies to all shown tables or views? The idea is that a user needs to work with multiple tables/views and applying a filter to each of them (changing customer, for example) is quite cumbersome. Any ideas? The alternative we are using is using a different base for each customer, but that doesn’t seem very efficient and requires to apply changes in multiple bases.

Hi guys, First time using Airtable, been trying to set it up for a nutritionist clinic and I ran into an issue. Hope I can receive some guidance here. I have to tables table1 has user_height, user_weight and user_bmi (calculated based on the height & weight) table 2 has the bmi ranges min_bmi, max_bmi, bmi_status. E.g. min_bmi = 1, max_bmi = 18.49, bmi_status = underweight min_bmi = 18.5, max_bmi = 22.9, bmi_status = normal min_bmi = 23, max_bmi = 27.49, bmi_status = overweight min_bmi = 28, max_bmi = 100, bmi_status = obese In order to retrieve the bmi_status, the calculated bmi needs to fall within the range of min_bmi and max_bmi. How do I join table1 and table2 to get the bmi_status? Is it possible? Expected output: table1: user_id, height, weight, bmi(calculated), bmi_status (extracted from table2)

Hello everyone, More than 3 years ago, we started using airtable to keep track of supplier invoices. We basically enter some invoice-related information and at the end we attach a photo of the invoice. Previously, this was a great solution, but phones are getting better, so our invoice uploads (photos) are getting bigger and bigger. I have spoken with Airtable support and this was their response: “Thanks for writing in! Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to optimize the image size; however, I would recommend using an external source like dropbox and upload the link there to upload it in Airtable for storage space!” We primarily use iPhones and our database now contains more than 1500 records. We use an iPhone app and enter the invoices manually. Opening attachments is slow, so we are trying to find a solution. It would be great if Airtable could have an option to optimize photo attachments, but that isn’t the case at the moment. Could you please share any

If I change the record order in Gallery view - it doesn’t reflect in the original grid view. Why the heck not? e.g. I have these rows: Point #1 Point #2 Point #3 In gallery view I change the order to: Point #1 Point #3 Point #2 When going back to grid view - I still see the original order - #1, #2, #3 Is there something I’m missing? Hi all, I’m facing an issue with a form that I’m trying to embed in my website (wordpress based). As you can see in the screenshot, the form is correctly embedded but does n ot scroll. Even if I set the autosize option, It seems to be blocked to a defined height that I can’t setup.

I’ve seen a few things that are similar but I’m still not getting my formula to work and I’ve tried a lot of different iterations of the formula with no luck. What I’m trying to do Fields: Pos Chg, 6 Mo Pos If Pos Chg < 0 AND 6 Mo Pos < 10 then I want to say “TOP” If Pos Chg > 0 AND 6 Mo Pos < 10 then I want to say “Good” Otherwise blank IF (AND ( {POS chg from Pre-Post} < 0, {POS 6 MO POST} < 10), “TOP”, IF ( {POS 6 MO POST} < 10, “Good”, “”) Any help is greatly appreciated.

Based on Calendar view of birthdays - #27 by Katherine_Duh, I thought I could use a formula for a calendar view. However, it seems like we cannot- which is the case? The use case here is that we have an imported spreadsheet of dates text string format and a user who prefers to see them that way (?). I am happy to manually redo them for now and reversing the formula, but before diving in, want to make sure that’s necessary.

Hi there! I have a base that has several summary blocks included to summarize the data. When I create a shareable link to the base, the apps/blocks in the panel on the right do not show up in the shared link. Does anybody know how to do this? The link below says there should be a “Show apps added to this base” option when creating a shareable link, but I do not see it. I am on the Pro plan so I assume I would have it if it were still available. Airtable Support
