Hello all. So I have been using Airtable since Christmas and it is really the answer to most of what I need and I am already excited about the functionality of Airtable and how it is going to help us. Quick back story - I work for an advertising agency as a Video Editor and I am using Airtable to create a database to monitor a number of things, including the projects we are working on, which hard drive they are on and how big the projects are (amongst many other features I have found on Airtable). So far what I have is one database, which has a table which monitors the projects - location, size, external links, etc - and another table which monitors the hard drives we use - so this records the data capacity, how much is used/available etc. I found a really helpful article to help me calculate the data available on each drive here (Forumla to add Hard Drive sizes) and it works perfectly in giving me the data on how much space is on each drive. Airtable should really allow Owners and Creators to limit the possibility of Editors creating non-personal views and sharing content. If I create a table that has specific views, I would want editors to only be able to edit records and not create new views that will only confuse my team. Also, if I didn’t create a shared view of a table, I don’t want editors to able to do so. This is important to maintain the security of my information.

I’m trying to access a base created by a previous contributor but can’t access it. Is there a way to recover it if I have the link?

Hey everyone! I need to enable to Scripting app but my Enterprise Admin says he can’t access the Enterprise Admin Panel. If I understand correctly, he needs to go to the “Enterprise Admin Panel”, then go to “Settings”, then switch off the “Disable development of custom code” off and then I’ll be able to install it. For some reason, when he tries to install the app it says he can’t, even though he’s the admin. Am I missing something?

I wrote a script to create a record, but I’m trying to link it to another record (Customers table) when I create it. I have the Customer Name and ID field value, but AirTable doesn’t seem to like the format I’m using for the ID. I’m getting the error message, “P: Can’t create records: invalid cell value for field ‘Link To Customers’. Cell value has invalid format: must be an array. Linked records field value must be an array of objects with property ‘id’ corresponding to linked record id.” I’m not sure what format AirTable wants to see for the value of field ‘Link to Customers’. I need to send an email every day at 4am to a list of tagged employees. Is there an automation or app extension that I can build into my airtable to pull their emails and send them an automated email each morning. Is this possible to build out?

How can I display other fields in a calendar View besides the Unique ID. Currently I only see the Unique ID on the calendar in a new calendar view. I do have a date field in the base that uses a date & Time. The Unique ID shows up in my cal view. In order for me to see any useful info in the calendar view I have to concatenate a few fields together for the unique ID field, only then do I get usable information in my calendar view. There must be a way to select a field to display in the calendar, but darned if I can find it. A simple explanation of what I am doing is…I have 20 people who can work a shift, and 3 shifts a day. One table with the shifts and one with the employees. shifts could use anything for the PK, employees I use Employee #. To assign a shift to a employee I simply select the employee # in the shifts table that links back to employees. But I can only see the unique ID or a concatenated vision of it in calendar view.

Has anyone gotten Vimeo video links to preview using the URL Preview App? They do not load for me. This comment (Media Field generating a duration in a new field - #6 by ScottWorld) mentions that Vimeo links from only paid Vimeo accounts can be previewed. I do have a paid Pro plan on Vimeo but my links still do not preview. Airtable support article about the URL Preview app talks about getting a “rewritten” URL from Vimeo. I wonder what that is? Here’s what it says: "Vimeo URLs Step 1: Generate share link in Vimeo Step 2: Use share link to copy rewritten URL" Thank you for your help!

Hello, is it possible to move/export a tab from one base into a different base within the same Workspace without having to download the CSS and losing all of the attachments, formatting, etc.? And if that’s not possible, is it possible to merge two bases? Apologies if this is basic or has been answered, I could not locate any previous discussion on it. Thanks!

Hello Everyone, We have a QR code tenants can scan which will redirect them to a form to fill out. We are not really fans of the fact the form is in a airtable.com/blabla website instead of one of ours. The QR code is already printed and scattered around the community and it leads to an airtable.com/blabla website. Can we redirect the users after they scan the QR code to a custom website which has the form held on the airtable.com/blabla website? Thanks

I am totally stumped as to how approach this and looking for advice! We have an Airtable form that members of the public submit to ask for help from our nonprofit. The form creates a record in the table where we keep track of requests and our responses/outcomes. We need a way to identify and “match” records from the same household so we can track duplicate entries and multiple requests from the same household over time. One complicating factor is that the name, street address, email, and phone number fields are all entered manually by the submitter, so they are rarely identical for all records submitted by the same person (e.g. email address may be capitalized in one instance and not in another). Also, not everyone shares a phone number or email address. I’m attaching a screenshot of the form below for context. Hi peeps I am new to Airtable and am starting to get the hang of counts, etc which I use to add up the number of items in a field. The fields are a form completed that will drop in a linked field from another table. I can add those up per row and get a sum per user like so: Each line is the completion of a form by a user with them adding their details each time. What I want to to now is either change the form to: A. add the same item to a user to create one line and one total B. subtract the sum of all the items the user added from a set total So if there are 50 items and they have gone in 3 times and chosen 15 over the 3 times, the total would reflect as 35 somewhere. This can be a single row or at the top of the sorted list, I dont mind. We just want to get all users to complete all tasks. Does anyone have any suggestions? Hi all! I have a base of student information that needs to be updated every semester when new students enroll. I get an excel spreadsheet from our registrar with the student information on it, but I’d like to pare it down to just the unique records before I import, or have Airtable only import unique records. I just dumped everything and used the Dedupe app last semester and it took me several hours to tidy everything up, so I’m not doing that again. Is there a quick way to only import unique records into Airtable?

Hello everyone, I found a way to get a nice view for my attendance tracking for my workers. However the process to enter the data is tedious. In the end, I want to see a view groupe by dates, then by attended / absent, and then by type of workers (foreman, worker, project manager, sub contractor etc.) Here is the view I came up with: However, the way I came up with this view is to add a new field for every worker on a specific day and this is a lot of work if I have 100+ workers on site. Is there a way to make this easier? I have a second table where I can toggle a worker to be either active or layed-off. Is it possible to automate a daily copy / paste of the active workers and then I can just go through the list and specify if this worker is present on site on that day or not? I tried to use one date with a link to multiple records, however there is not much I can do when it comes to grouping. I’m a researcher and I deal with biospecimens. One of the major tasks is to process and store specimens. A standard arrangement is to place samples in a storage for long-term keeping. I’ve drawn out what that looks like. Both the samples and the storages have multiple hierarchies. How would one model this in Airtable?

I am trying to create an application with Stacker using AirTable. When the user registers, they will need to complete a form which has conditional logic based on their answers. As an example, if they check a certain box, they will be required to attach a document. However, the attach function will be hidden until the box is checked. The application will be primarily used on mobile devices. From what I see, AirTable only allows conditional logic on desktop devices not mobile. I may be missing a simpler way to go about this. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello - I have searched and tried to find an answer, but I have been unsuccessful, so I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere. My situation is this: I have various events, each event is a record. For each event, I had a list of the same 10 tasks that need to be accomplished (printing packets, nametags, confirming speakers, tech check, etc.). For those tasks, I need to assign someone to complete them. I can’t wrap my head around how to organize the task table and then create a Kanban view so that each event tasks are delineated. I was hoping to not use Trello for this and keep it all contained within Airtable, but not sure it’s possible or how to lay it out. Can anyone advise? With thanks, Jenn
