Is there any way for a “Link” field to share the filter properties of a “multiple select” field? For example, when filtering a multiple select field, I have many options (e.g., has any of, has all of…) and I can toggle the selected options on/off. Seen in these 2 screenshots: However, when filtering a linked field, I have limited options and I have to type in the exact thing I’m looking for. Seen here: Is there anyway to get the link field to act like a multiple select field? I don’t suspect there is. But wondering what the roadblock is to making this happen. Can that be programmed? I’m sharing a view of a table to a client, however, when I update the table, their view isn’t updated unless they refresh the tab. This makes it completely useless for me. I would add them as a collaborator but that would give them access to hidden data that I need to keep protected. Is there a setting or work-around for this? Thank you in advance

I’m setting up a large base to track an entire industry. I will have several people adding info to the base. The “Employer” field in the “Worker” table will link to the “Employer” table and will track the employers of each worker. There are thousands of workers and dozens of employers, and many of the employers have different possible ways to write their name (e.g. MEC Consultants, M.E.C. Consultants, Inc., MEC, etc.). Is there any feature in Airtable that will protect against us creating multiple unique entries for the same company over and over, other than clear rules, thorough training and pro-active clean-up?

Here’s what I’m trying to do: In Table-1 I have records with a “Created At” field and “Status” field. I’d like to create a new Table where I could see total numbers of records from Table-1 where “Created At” is let’s say May and “Status Field” equals to Done. I’ve tried linking records from Table-1 to Table-2 and use Rollup filed but it only counts number of linked records, to look like this: Month - May Total Sales - 12 Amount - 120$ Any ideas?

Hi I have a project / task management base that works well, If i can find a solution to the following point I’d be a very happy man. I have tables for projects and tasks and link the two, in the task view i have a grid view where task are grouped by project. The top task under each project is the next action on it, i have a process (GTD ish) where I have a list of those next actions across all projects, I currently create the next actions with a tick box I manually set but its cumbersome. Any suggestions on how this could be automated would be appreciated, Regards Rob

I am creating a Master Calendar & Team Calendar system in Airtable, where each calendar update automatically updates/creates based on an update in the other calendar. I put together a system that created a “Unique Event ID”, which is a shared ID for the same event across both Bases. Everything is working great so far, except that I would like to delete records automatically in one Base if the corresponding record is not found in the other. There’s no Delete trigger in Integromat, so my workaround is: -The trigger is an existing “Update Record” automation After that automation completes, the automation will do a scan on both Airtable Bases. I’m trying to set up a hire system that tracks when an item is on loan or when it’s available. Is there a way to restrict selection of an item if it is ‘on loan’ for that date?

Is there any way to create a read-only table view that can be accessed anonymously via the API? I just want to be able to do a simple table lookup/mapping (with a filter formula) with a front-end Javascript call without exposing an API key (or having to host a back-end script on a 3rd-party server). Alternatively, is it reasonable to create a “collaborator” account with read-only access and expose that account’s API key?

I have recently configured the Map block on a few tables with a total of couple of hundred rows between them. A few days later I checked my Google Developers console to see how my geocoding API key was faring, and I was shocked to see ~18,000 requests for that key. If I open a Map block and the associated table simultaneously, I can see the geocoding cache column get updated repeatedly as I interact with the map — even though no data in those rows is changing. The gif below shows cell updates being triggered just while viewing/panning/zooming the map… Then, if I open up one of records in question, I can see a bunch of changelog entries of the form: “User X edited this record using Map block Y”… Can anyone explain what’s going on here? What am I doing wrong? How do I as the owner, make it so multiple users (<10) are able to view/update the database at the same time?

We would love to be able to use AirTable to create interactive client facing asset collection docs that only let them make edits to a couple fields (such as client notes and an upload portal). Ideally they would be able to do this is in a view where they can’t change anything except those couple fields. I’m not seeing an option in the field permissions to do that. The closest thing I’ve been able to come up with is giving the client editor permissions and then locking the fields we don’t want them to change. This still allows them to make edits to the view, grouping, filtering, etc. that changes the entire document. Is there a workaround for this that offers permissions sort of in between editor and a view link where they can’t make changes to the table but can utilize the upload feature in the records and maybe paste a URL? What I’m imagining is a locked kanban view where each card is a task for a process or asset we need from the client. They would be able to click the card

Hello, I am trying to gather information from my colleges on how they do specific tasks through out our building (some departments have the same tasks but are done differently, we are trying to accumulate all the data and compare). I have a grid view of all the tasks from all departments, but I am having trouble finding a way to track which department answers which questions and making sure that when a department does answer, the question can not be asked again (I do not want duplicate data if someone forgets that they already answered a previous question). Is there a conditional format I can use to accomplish this or will I need to find an external form builder? Thank you.

Have had this issue before, but haven’t really tried as hard as I just have to solve it. I copy and paste in a list of names from a spreadsheet directly into a ‘link to another record column’ for contacts. This work awesomely to bring out a ton of information I can then export to another app in the right form. What’s really wierd is I need to do this for a different set of data from a different source in a different table. I set them up the same way, but Airtable won’t let me paste the data straight into the “link to another record column” for contacts, it doesn’t matter whether I’m doing it from GSheets or Excel. HOWEVER, if I paste some of the names from the other sheet used above, it DOES work. So, in summary, Airtable is letting me paste names directly into a “link to another record column” from one spreadsheet, but not from another. How can this be?

Hello everyone - Does anyone know how to send an email notification when an editable field within a record changes? I looked at Zapier and the only triggers are New Record or New Record In View. We have several scenarios where people want to be notified via email (not currently collaborators) when information changes. Many thanks for your insights and advice. Doug

Hi everyone ! I’m not new to Airtable, but I’m completely lost with the calendar sync … I tried everything i saw on the web, but i can’t do what I want to do. So here’s my goal: I have a date column in a table, which is the “Next call date”. I would like to have a new calendar event created in my Google Calendar each time this date is updated I tried this with zapier and views, I tried with sharing the airtable calendar. I thought to create as many columns as events I need, and views with certain filter as triggers, but it’s not really clean … Thanks for help !!!

Hello, I would like to be able to view various locations daily performance reports. Is it possible to have several different forms within one table and then create a view or report for each of the locations? I was thinking to create forms that can be completed for each location and then be able to view a report based on location or other criteria in the future.

We are using airtable as our CRM system. We have an interaction tab set-up where our sales team records interactions with leads and clients. When we open the contract record the interactions need to be sorted by the “Date” field - located on the interaction area. Even with the view being sorted by date they are not appearing sorted by data on the contact record preview (sample image attached). Can anyone provide insight on how to get them to show up in the correct order?
