Hi all, I have one table in a base that I would like specific persons (not necessarily collaborators, but Airtable users) to be able to view (and ideally edit), without granting them any access to the rest of the base. I understand that this is not possible as collaborators have access to the whole base and not parts of it. Let’s call this table “Tasks”. I would like specific employees to be able to see, for example, what tasks they have been assigned, their deadlines and so on, without giving them access to other tables within the base nor all of the linked records in the “Tasks” table, which might contain confidential information. I thought of creating a different base that would be automatically populated only by the said table (“Tasks”) but again linking between bases is not supported (I will have to copy/paste records, which is not quite the idea for what I’m trying to achieve here). I’m using the Displaying quarters in fiscal year formula in one of my tables, however, for some reason, Q4 months are showing up as Q1 in my table. The formula I’m using is below. I want to use a project management base and then create reports for the executive team to show our progress. Can I create a report? Can I customize it to an in house standard template or a totally custom report with graphics without leaving Airtable? Thank you in advance for your comments and advise!

Hi there! I see that if you change the end date of a predecessor to end later than the start date of any of its successors, the start dates of those successors will change automatically. However, I’m curious if there’s a way to do two other things. Automatically compress the time between variables to start the next day. For instance, say I’m eager to make a cake and two of my variables are making the batter (which takes me 2 days) and baking the cake (which takes me 1 day). If currently taking the batter is on Monday and baking the cake is on Friday is there a way to shrink this time, so baking the cake would start as soon as making the batter wraps up. Or do I have to do that manually? Automatically have a successors move up in time when you move a predecessor up in time. So, once the two variables are happening the next day. So making my batter would start on Monday, it would take me two days, and then baking the cake would start on Wed. Say then, the kitchen opens up earlier a

Is it possible to map header fields so that I can import an Excel spreadsheet into an existing table that has several different headers?

Imagine this scenario - I want to create an invoice line. I have a product table of product_code and sales_price. I have the product code and quantity in the invoice line table and want to lookup the sales_price and copy it into the invoice line table field sold_price_each. I can do it with a lookup but that has a problem. If the price of the item changes in future, then the invoice will change after it’s been issued, which is no good at all! I am new to Airtable and cant see a way forward on this one. Any help appreciated.

Hello! New to Airtable, and wanting to explore using the gallery view as a front end for an application catalog of tools available at my company. The gallery view is almost perfect, but I would like to be able to link directly from the gallery card without forcing the user to click on the card, then click on the URL. Is there any way possible to remove the second detail pop-up and have the card directly link to a detail page on our intranet? Can someone please share what formula I would use to update the day for holidays that change each year? For example, MLK Day, President’s Day, Good Friday, etc. all change each year. I’m using a social media calendar template and the current formula is not auto-updating the holiday dates for 2020.

Hi there, I have linked two tables & then a data column was lookup in the second table. But, when I created a form I cant see the lookup field in options. Is there a way so that we can add the lookup field in forms? Thanx!!

Hey All! Here’s what I’d like to do, not sure HOW… Notify Teams of people at once when a new record is added. I have a list of team members, working on multiple projects. For example: Bob works on project 1 and 2 Bill works on project 1 and 3 Sally works on project 2 and 3 I want to assign people to these projects as a TEAM. For example: Project 1 - Team 1(multiple people linked) Project 2 - Team 2 (multiple people linked) Project 3 - Team 3 (multiple people linked) Then when I add a record - have a field that has TEAM as an option, and when I select Team 1, all people associated with Team 1 would get a notification. The same way as a collaborator field would do but with this Team group. I can see making the groups with people and linking the tables, but how do I get the Team selection to send out the notification. Thanks in advance for any/all help! Cheers

Hello I created already a few Airtable database, although I’m still a newbie :winking_face: Before I start a database and table design, I try to make a drawing on paper, with the different tables, and especially the fields that are linked to another record and those that lookup information in another table. If you get these right, you’re more than halfway :winking_face: Today I still use pen and paper to get the design roughly and with arrows drawn on paper, I can see the relationship between the fields in the tables, before I start programming. My question is : Is there a handy tool, cloud-based and free ;), that would make these drawings and the design of the database easier ? And if this simple tool would have an export to Airtable, so that you have already the database with the relational fields, that would be a great bonus :winking_face: Thanks for your suggestions, Michel

Good morning, pretty new Airtable user, but liking it so far. I’m running into a challenge with this requirement: I need to take a list of sales managers, reference their staff, based upon multiple tiers, referencing the sales staff’s number of sales, and calculate a bonus amount for the sales managers. I’ve considered linked tables, scripts, and junction tables. I can’t SEARCH/FIND for this nor create an IF statement that’ll do it. I’m unsure how a Junction table would help, and haven’t really dug into the script block yet. Basically I need to find an employee ID in another record, as referenced in the “manager ID” field of the original record, and then pull data from another column (sales numbers). This would be trivial in a Google Sheet/Excel, but no go so far. Ideas would be much appreciated, with code examples if possible, thanks much!

Hello everyone, I am trying Airtable to prepare some reports. For this purpose, I need to create a graphs to represent month on month change in planned numbers as compared to actual numbers. For Exmaple, I have 5 projects, say - P1, P2, P3, P4 and P5. I have planned some hours on each project for May and June. I am also tracking my actual work hours on these. Hi everyone, This is my first post here. Hoping to get ideas that could solve my problem. Here’s my setup: I have a table where I upload CSV files to. Each row contains, among other information, a price and an attribution to both an item and a vendor. I decided to list the prices in rows and not in columns (as often seen in the forum). Existing records are merged by a unique value consisting of the vendor’s name and the item’s name. As you can imagine, there can be different prices for one item from different vendors. One item can “occupy” up to 5 rows. So although I only have 10’000 items, the limits of my base in PRO can easily be reached by this setup (by the way, if you have an idea how to set the whole thing up more effectively, please let me know :slightly_smiling_face: . To save space, I thought about only keeping the two lowest prices for each item. As for the more expensive prices, I want to create a view in which I can easily bulk-delete those rows. From what I’ve read about the field permissions this isn’t possible, but I hope someone has found a workaround for this? Without Forms, preferably! On View 1 I’d like a field to be utilized by all. then as the workflow progresses and moves to view 2 this field is locked to prevent the user from making changes to the filed and so on.

I manage online content for multiple companies. I need a way to get feedback on content revisions from my client, but don’t want them to see any tables or data that is not specific to their company. For example: Company A has 12 items. I have a view in a table that is specific to this company’s items. I have edited two fields: 1. Title and 2. Description I need to give them visibility to these fields, in addition to about 6 others that are reference only and static, but I also want to give them the ability to give feedback in a “Client Comments” field. A shareable URL does not allow them to add “Client Comments”. I think I could do it in a form, but am not sure how to filter it such that the form is ONLY Client A and the items/fields/values that are displayed (Title and Description) are ONLY for Client A.

Hello, we have some inspectors out in the field and have recently upgraded their tablets and phones. Previously (on their older devices) the images they would upload were 1mb or less, wouldn’t take long to upload and wouldn’t use too much data. Now that we have upgraded (ipad mini’s and galaxy s10 for example) the photos are generally 5mb+ causing longer upload times and using all the data very quickly. Does anyone have ideas about how to make the photo quality lower? We don’t need high resolution photos. We have tried adjusting the resolution in the camera apps but they don’t go anywhere as small as the previous devices. I know there are ways to reduce the image size/quality after the photo is taken with other apps etc but that’s not really practical if they are taking 10-20 photos an hour and need to line the photos up with some other data when inputting into airtable. thank you in advance for any ideas.

I want to connect basic pageviews/unique pageviews from GA to our AirTable Editorial Calendar. The edit calendar has full URLs https://www.oursite.com/path. GA, of course, only has /path. How can I automate matching these records? Is there a way to bulk edit all URLs to insert or delete https://www.oursite.com? Something easier?

Hi - is it possible to color multiple columns using the conditional logic? For instance, we have 8 columns: Budget 1 Spend 1 Difference 1 Budget 2 Spend 2 Difference 2 When setting up the conditional logic, we’d love to be able to say “if the difference is less than x, make the field green.” If isn’t possible, are there any workarounds that you would suggest? I share different data with outside organizations. Should I setup a Base for each organization? If so, how would I track activity globally among all of the organizations in the same workspace?

I created a base for artists, all of whom will have multiple pieces of art listed. Each piece has an (attachment) image field, and 3 other text fields: price, dimensions, and medium associated with it. I need to link those fields (columns) together, but unique to each artist (listed in rows). (Otherwise, we won’t be able to match up the details to the art image, if not linked together). How do I do this?
