We are thrilled to share that as of today, Timeline view is available in Airtable. What is Timeline view? Timeline view is a new view type that will allow you to track and visualize what’s most important to help you understand resources, events, tasks, or initiatives over time. This new view will allow you to color-code, group, filter, and sequence your records on a timeline so that you can see what’s happening, when. Some features accompanying Timeline view include: Groupings: Similar to Grid view, Timeline view allows for multiple levels of grouping, with each level being collapsible so you can see the most relevant information. Swimlanes: Records that are grouped together are displayed in a horizontally-scrolling timeline we call a “swimlane.” Several records can sit side-by-side in the same swimlane; if they overlap, they stack on top of each other so nothing gets lost. The ol’ drag-and-drop: Easily change deadlines and reassign tasks using the drag-and-drop shortcut. When you sh
Hi Airtable Community! I’m Emily, a product manager for Airtable’s Interfaces team. I’m so excited to announce a new feature that is available today: Interface Forms! What are Interface forms?Interface forms are an easy way to create new records directly in Interfaces. Using the full power of the Interface Designer layout engine, you can customize exactly what information you’d like your users to enter each time they create a new record. How can I access Interface forms? There are two ways to create a new form: Create a full-screen form using the new form layout. This should be available any time you create a new page in an Interface. You can add forms to existing pages that include a Record List or a Record Picker. Select either of these elements and toggle “Allow users to create new records” in the properties panel. From there, you can configure your form modal. Who can use these forms?Any user who has access to your Interface can access the forms you make to create new reco

 Hi all! I’m Kelly - a product manager at Airtable focused on helping users build powerful, secure apps for their org. I’m excited to introduce some powerful new features (including my personal favorite, granular permissions), as well as a new way to think about what you’re building in Airtable. Today most teams have the autonomy to choose the software and tools that work best for them. While this allows teams to move fast, it can also create massive data silos, misalignment, and disjointed collaboration. There’s critical data spread across dozens of applications, and no team has access to all of it, which can cause work to slow way down We believe it’s time to reject the trade-off between moving fast and moving together. That’s why we’re introducing the Airtable Connected Apps Platform™. The Airtable Connected Apps Platform™ lets every team create powerful applications to be shared across the organization, built on shared company data, and on the same connected platform. Buildi

Hi everyone, For those I haven’t met, I’m Sean, an engineer on the Airtable API team. Today our team is excited to announce the public beta (it’s public – so no need to sign up!) of several new API authentication features to make our API more secure for all our users. Bundled with them are the (long-requested!) metadata API, comments API, and webhook API. And one more feature (my personal favorite): a new publicly accessible API docs site to learn about all of these in more exciting detail! Airtable Web API API authentication: personal access tokens Use personal access tokens for more granular control over access to bases and workspaces: https://airtable.com/create/tokens. API authentication: OAuth for Integrations Register an integration to build using OAuth 2.0: https://airtable.com/create/oauth. Users can authorize third-party integrations with OAuth for a secure setup and granular controls. New API endpoints As part of either of the authentication methods above, we have sev

Hi all - I hope the week is going well. I’m excited to be able to share the next wave of Interface Designer updates targeted at making interfaces even more powerful and easier to use. Button Element: Allows you to add a button - and configure some actions - in your interface. This will allow you to quickly approve/reject requests and gives flexibility to making status changes like assigned or complete. You’ll be able to configure buttons to update a field or multiple fields of a single record with a single click. You may also choose to move to the next record. You’ll be able to edit the color from 4 different options. Below are the color options and their labels. These labels are meant to be guiding principles of when to use these colors, not what they do. Blue = “Primary” Red = “Warning” Green = “Success” Gray = “Secondary” Calendar Element: offers the same functionality as the calendar view in an Interface. It includes the ability to customize the initial view that visitors
