Hey Airtable community, @derekwu here with Airtable’s product team.We launched Managed Apps and components last September and we’ve seen customers use them to power some of their most important workflows. We’re excited to launch a couple of new features for Managed Apps and components to expand where and how you can use them.Use Managed components with your existing tables and fieldsThis is a new capability that allows you to incorporate Managed components into existing workflows. While installing a Managed component, you’ll be able to reference existing tables and fields instead of always creating new ones. Everything else in the managed component will work seamlessly with these substitutions, so you won’t have to rewire your base.Note: For existing Managed components, you’ll have to publish a new version of the component to your App library before this feature will become available for use with that component. Customizing sync sourcesYou can now choose the most relevant view to use

Hey Airtable community! As of today, you can now trigger automations when you receive an email, so you can turn your inbox into insights! 🎉 You can use automations to extract data such as the content, sender, and even attachments. Then use AI and automations to analyze and take action on that data. This highly-requested feature allows you to turn unstructured email content into a clean data set that your organization can actually use to power workflows and make decisions. For example, product teams constantly receive valuable customer feedback over email. But what happens to it? Is the same request being received from several customers? Did anyone close the loop? Now, you can track feedback received via email, extract insights, and close the loop. How does it work? Check out the support article to learn more about how to set up the new email trigger. When is this rolling out? It’s live now! What plans is this ro

NOTE: This blog was updated on 2/26/25 Hey Airtable Community 👋 You might have noticed a little something different with the community, and we wanted to share a little bit about what we’ve been working on! The community will experience disruptions starting Friday, Feb 28. Why, you ask? Well, we always want to create a better experience for our members guided by what our members find most important. Based on feedback that we’d been hearing, we realized that meant redesigning a community experience tailored to better connect, engage, and empower all of our members! We’ve put a lot of thought into what this will look like and, in just a few more days, we can’t wait to unveil the new community that we’ve been hard at work building for you. However, because you’ve been such a prolific community (give yourselves a pat on the back 👏), that means we have a ton of data over the years that we want to make sure is migrated properly. This is why the Airtable Community wi

With the new trash dialog, you can now restore mistakenly deleted items for up to seven days after deletion! More specifically, collaborators with creator and editor permissions can open up the trash to see the tables, views, fields, and records that have been deleted in a base in the past seven days. Creators can restore all items that appear in the trash, and editors can restore records and fields. Please note that the tables, fields, views, and records you delete will now be visible to editor- and creator-level collaborators for seven days unless you click the empty trash button from within the trash dialog. Emptying the trash will permanently remove everything in the trash, and only creators can empty the trash. For more information, check out the support article.

Hey everyone,We’ve got some exciting news about a long-awaited change to app cloning in Airtable!Who does this affect? This change is for all users of Airtable across all our plan types. What’s Changing? Currently, when you clone an app (e.g. using “Duplicate base” or “Take snapshot”), all the underlying object IDs (like table IDs and field IDs) are replaced with new ones in the cloned version. With this update, those IDs will now stay the same in the cloned app. The only thing that will change is the top-level app ID.Why This Matters: This update will make things a lot smoother, especially for users who’ve had to deal with workarounds due to different object IDs when restoring snapshots. How to review your set up: For most users, this shouldn’t require you to make any changes to your workflow. If you’ve built integrations or automations that assume object IDs are globally unique, you’ll want to review your set up to make sure that it can adapt to this new behavior of IDs bei
