I have an interface with a Field of the "Linked to another record" type. I want users to be able to either add or remove a connection to an existing record, OR to add a new linked record. I can set the field to allow these two things independently:However, in the interface both of these things don't work. If I allow for both, users can only remove the connection or add a connection to an existing record. However there is no way to add a new linked record. If i disallow the "Allow users to link/unlink", then users CAN add a new linked record. I want both of these things to be possible, as the interface field settings seem to imply.Am I missing something?

Hi all,So I have a table of client records. I have about 30 columns with various pieces of information in each. Some of them are drop-downs, checkboxes, some are single lines of text or numbers, etc. What I need to be able to do is to output information from certain columns into something like a PDF in order to create a "job sheet" for our surveyors, with only the information from certain columns that are relevant to their work. Is there a way to do this?At the minute I have to scroll left to right, manually copy and pasting each cell into a Word document, which is incredibly time-consuming. Does anybody have a workaround for this?Many thanks in advance.

Hi all, Hoping someone can help with a solution! My company has numerous assets that are “active” for long periods of time. I have a formula to calculate the “Active Status” based on the Asset Launch Date & Asset End Date (see below for reference). I would like to make an additional field that lists ALL dates an asset is going to be active based on the start and end dates (placeholder included in the image above). For example, if Asset Launch Date = 9/1/22 & Asset End Date = 9/5/22, I’d like the ALL ACTIVE DATES field to read: “9/1/22, 9/2/22, 9/3/22, 9/4/22, 9/5/22” Note: This field would be hidden 99.9% of the time and ONLY used in an Interface Filter element to allow users to type in specific dates (i.e. 9/3/22) and see the assets that will be “A

I'm trying to create a base that can track all the annual membership payments and also send them an automatic email 2 weeks before the renewal date (based on the MEMBERSHIP JOINING DATE) is due, plus two more reminder emails with intervals of 2 weeks. I only have 1 table to work as I can't figure out how to implement it if I create another table within the base. So the VIEW that I have is Annual membership fees. In that view, I have theMEMBER'S NAMEMEMBERSHIP JOINING DATE20232024I really want to have a current year renewal date based on the Member's membership joining date (column) but I don't know the formula.Then use that as the basis trigger for my renewal notice email for the members. Plus two more follow-up emails.Until they have the PAID mark on the current year. I hope I make sense. Thanks in advance for your help.  

I'm trying to set up an automation where 1 hour before a call date & time, sends an email to remind the person. I've tried creating a column to have a formula that is the date & time matches now - mark as "SEND NOTIFICATION" but this doesn't seem to work properly. I don't know if this is because the time is in PST and I'm in GMT. But does anyone cleverer at this than me help with a simple solution.Thank you!

Hi all, first of all, I’m a non-native English speaker, please keep that in mind, in case my question isn’t understandable :slightly_smiling_face: I’m quite struggling to explain it in german, my native language. I’m new to airtable and trying to set up a registration form with limited record entries. The form should not accept any input after, let’s say 30 entries, since the registration is limited. Is there any way I can limit the records in a table? I found some posts about different field types like formula, rollup and count, but they all refer to linked records and that’s what I don’t understand. Do I need a second table for this? And if yes, how do I accomplish this? Is it possible to limit records in general? I’m grateful for any hint. kimon

Hello, Community! My organization uses forms and survey extensively. We’re in small business services so we typically have a select field that allows users to pick their preferred language. From there, we create conditional fields based on their language preference. My issue is that I get records that are in multiple languages and have to use long and cumbersome formulas in the destination table to combine the responses and get them all back into English for reporting. Does anyone know a better solution that would conditionally convert everything back to the English response values? For example { if (person chooses response X-c in Chinese) then (data submitted is equivalent response X-e in English) }. Thanks a ton for your help!

Hello! We are using Airtable for a project plan, where we have one table with tasks and one table with milestones (several tasks are linked to each milestone). We would like to calculate the percentage of tasks completed for each milestone in the milestone table, so we can quickly see that for a specific milestone e.g. 70% of the tasks in the task table have a status of ‘complete’. Hello, I'm trying to use airtable to email callers templated information about products. I have a grid view where I can enter an caller's email, select from product list (a, b, c), then use the Button feature to trigger a SendGrid email that contains information about the selected product that is retrieved from a lookup table (a - info text, b-info text, and so on). This all works very smoothly except I would like to create a Form to enable staff to use this process without having to interact with the grid view. So I would like to somehow automate the pressing of the "Send email with SendGrid" button once the Form is submitted/record created. Is there a way to do this?Thanks for any ideas you have.

Hello everyone, I’m running a speed dating business and would like to automate the matching system. What I want is the following. After the speed dating, each participant will receive an airtable form in which they can each select any number of participants of the opposite sex that they want to match. If Woman1 selects Man1 AND Man1 selects Woman1, then a formula must be triggered and I’ll then use zapier or the email block to send emails automatically with each other’s private info. Any idea on how to organize that ?

Apologize for this possibly simplistic question, but here goes:I want to create a field that is a Category, that based on the category value selected, will ONLY display a list of relevant Sub Category values for the selected category. EXAMPLE (Simplified)1.  I have a field that is Product Category - it has two values: Mobile, Home.2. If you pick Home for Product Category, for the Product Sub Category, I would want to display the Home Sub Category values. (Wireless, Wireline, Other services)3. To take it one step further, I would also like the Product Sub Category could have  Product Sub Category 2, that would show ONLY relevant values based on the Product Sub Category. (eg. Home > Wireline > 5G Router, 4G Router, Extender, etc.)Is there a way to set up a table to have this hierarchical relationship. Do I need to refer one table to another, etc.?&nbs

BUT, when I go to actually use it, the automation does NOT work. I.e., it does not update my live/active Base in the same way that it updated the Test Record. I am attempting to create a SignUp Page in Airtable. My current iteration is live at this link. Using the NOW() function in a formula no longer updates the time reliably, even after refreshing the base. It only returns the original time that the formula was created, but then it doesn’t update reliably beyond that. I’m specifically referring to a formula that just has this as its formula: NOW() I’ve noticed that within the last few days, this brand new disclaimer was added to the formula reference page for both the NOW() function and the TODAY() function: ***The results of this functions changes only when the formula is recalculated or a base is loaded. Hello we ran a survey over a few weeks and are wondering if it’s possible to know/sort by the date on which the survey was taken. We did not ask people to enter date manually, there is no date column - we assumed it would be recorded automatically.

Hello community, I have an automation that informs the user by e-mail if the deadline of a task is before the start date. Unfortunately, in my opinion, it is not possible to set a dynamic validation for fields that would prevent this.However, if the user wants to move the timeline for the task, he usually changes the start date first and then the due date. this triggers the automation. Does anyone have an idea how to prevent this? best regardsMirko
