I'm putting together a website/CRM/internet stuff for a window cleaning business. I've looked at Jobber and it seems to offer everything we need but at $100+ per month it's pretty expensive. I tried kickserv which is about half the price for the features we need but my cursory exploration has not been impressive. I love Airtable and I bet the tools have already been developed to make it work. What sites like Jobber do is give an embeddable form that plugs the customer right into the database. They have another form that the worker can use to create an estimate and this of course all gets plugged right into the database. This can all go together and spit out an invoice. These are the main features I need to figure out for Airtable. Some other parts of the Jobber-type solution are things like CC processing and messaging. These are nice to have but aren't essential as long as the system can provide notifications when certain things happen. 

Hi,Our Airtable approach is to provide users with interfaces, nobody works in the base directly. For a Google Calendar event creation automation we now need to add users. The automation is initiated from a button, and its purpose is to create a new event for the user that clicks the button.However, I couldn't figure out a way to make new calendar connections, nor how to make the automation fully follow the "current user" approach.The questions are:(1) I could only find a way to connect new Google Calendars myself (as the admin). Since I don't have, and don't want to have, the users' Google credentials, how can I facilitate new connections? I don't want to extend user access to the base just for this. Currently, the record level revision history shows with the oldest on top. That view also puts newer comments at the end/bottom. If I want to see something recent I have to scroll all the way to the bottom. Is there any way to reverse that so that comments and revision history shows with the most recent at the top?

Hi, I’m starting with Airtable and I think it’s excellent. I try to move all my work with Googlesheet to Airtable, but there is a functionality that I can not find and that I miss. It is the Autocrat complement. With this add-on I automatically generate, with each new record, a pdf file that is also automatically sent instantly by mail to an account extracted from the registry itself. It is necessary for me in my work, and I wonder if it is possible to do this with Airtable and some additional complement, or if on the contrary I should forget about it. Thanks, and excellent work!

Hi, I am trying to find a way to find the value that is the second to the max value of multiple linked record using rollup. I can find the max value, but I am still unable to find a way to find the second to max value. So if I have, 21840, 20194, 21664, I need to be able to work with the max(21840) and the second to max(21664). I hope I have explained my situation properly and hopefully someone can help me. Could someone share the correct way to update a multiple select field using a script?I have one table where I receive data from form submissions. When a submission is received, I use data from the submission to update a multiple select field in a record in another table. We are a Civil Contracting company and just started using airtable for some simple data tracking.  What we are trying to do is build a simple "app" that can house some forms for our drivers to fill out thru out the day, ie material load info and refueling info.I have built some forms that use a sharable link, it works but is cumbersome when there are several different forms for the drivers to use.  I was hoping to figure out a way to either set permissions in airtable so the driver can only view and utilize the forms or have an "app" that hosts the forms in one spot.  These are truck drivers and not all of them are tech friendly so I need to keep it as simple as possible.Thank you in advance for any ideas on how to tackle this issue.

A few years back I set up a base for one of our clients who was new to Airtable. I invited them as a collaborator to the base to start to familiarize them with the system. Since then we have been paying for both us and them as a collaborator on the base. The time has come that we want to transfer owernship of the base to them completely so they will both be managing and paying for the base. How do I go about doing that? Do I invite them as an owner and then delete them as a collaborator? How do I remove myself as an owner for the base? How do we get them set up to be billed for the base?

Hi - I am building a base that serves as a marketing tech stack document. I am listing software titles in the first column, and then have columns for "Features in use" and "Features available but not in use" etc.  Each of those columns have multiple selection options.  My goal is to be able to create a view that will group all the software options by the individual features.  So one example use is that I want to be able to see all our software that has the Available Feature to do SMS texting in one group. Did I set this up right to do that?

Hi,I would like to trigger an automation with a button in a list interface. That's not possible, but how then to handle the following?The listing groups all records (projects) into several buckets. The user can choose which bucket to list with a dropdown filter element. After finding the right selection, I'd like for the user to trigger an automation for that selection. There's an AT script called "find & replace."  That's great - but how about if instead I find a string of text in a field, copy what follows up until a find another string of text (/BeginAddress Name, Street, City, Zip /EndAddress), then paste that stuff into a different field?  The point is to take an email before forwarding it into AT, place /BeginWhatever at the front of what you want to copy, place /EndWhatever at the end of it, then when the new record is created in AT, have an automation run that script to grab what's between the "markers," and paste it into another field in that or a different table - like "Address" for example.  So, for example, I can mark an address anywhere in an email chain, forward it into AT, and have the script extract what I really want from it and put it where I want it to go.  And then maybe delete that forwarded email.I want to think that the "find &am

There are times when I need a data field to be "Required".   Otherwise, data quality issues are introduced. When this is needed, usually the data field must always be "Required" (Use Case #1).  There are also times when a data field needs to be "Required" only conditionally (Use Case #2), based on a value present in another data field within the record.  What I have observed:Airtable supports Use Case #1 during data creation via the Interface Creation Form, but not during a data update.  I can delete the data in a "required" data field, subsequently in the same interface.Airtable doesn't support Use Case #1 at the table/view level.  It can't be specified when defining a column.Regarding Use Case #2, "Conditionally Required" enforcement is not supported, either at the table/view level or within an interface.  Am I

I’m new to Airtable, and have been browsing the help center and playing around with the features. One thing I didn’t see mentioned anywhere was input validation. For instance, for a numeric field requiring the value to be less than, greater than, or between values-- as an age field which must be 21 or greater. Or a date field which must not be a future date. Or a currency field limited to 10000. An so on. How would these be done in Airtable ?

Is there a way to put edit-checks or validations on a field? I’d like to restrict the range of numeric values that can be input to a numeric field.

I would like the employees at my company to be able to work within the Interface and generate letters for our clients through PDFs that are exported to the desktop.I know there are so many third party solutions to document generation, but I was wondering if it is possible to create a script that would be activated by a button in the interface to generate a letter that will save to the users desktop using one of the third party solutions.A click to download letter button.   

I’m doing a deep software selection and i’ll evaulated a lot of other software like airtable, and i have to say that Airtable is what i can say the best in class if we consider the 90% of the use cases our company needs. What it seems to lack, but i cannot realize it clearly (it seems to me so fool) that its not possible to do data validation. Let’s say a simply use case: I want my collegues to fill in the hours spent on various task (not in real time with the time track app, but simply at end of the day or of the week). In airtable is simple: new grid, i add a column TIME SPENT of type INTERVAL and i’m lost? i can i force to insert only an x number 0 < x < 8 ? i dont want to let them fill in a WRONG record and with automations try to send email, rewrite numbers or other thing: simply to forbid a wrong insert if it does not respect the restriction rule. If I have fields in a table with specific types why doesn’t the form validate those types before submitting the data? There seems little point in specifying a field type of email if someone can enter whatever they like into the form. I realize that client-side form validation is non-trivial but there at least some native browser validations that could be implemented fairly easily.

Hey Community! Here’s my problem: I have users adding phone numbers to records. Problem is, the way the are inputting records doesn’t allow me to have Data validation. I need the number they input in a specific format, and I was hoping there might be a formula that could do this. Format we need: 1 (XXX) XXX-XXXX Inputs we might get (because users make mistakes) = 1 xxx xxx xxxx xxx xxx xxxx xxxxxxxxxx 1 (xxx) xxx xxxx (xxx) xxx xxxx What is important for us is there is the area code, aka, a “1” at the front of every number. I was thinking about creating a formula that adds a “1” at the start, but in the circumstances where a user does what we want, and adds a “1”, I don’t want to add it as it’d break it. Hello,I'm using the Map & Data Validator extensions, which allow me to view and validate my fields respectively. I'm also developing an interface so that I can share the application without users having to use the database directly, and so that I don't have to show all the records.My first question is: Is it possible to include the map extension display in my interface? If so, how? I've seen on other forums that this wasn't possible, but perhaps a feature for this has now been added?My second question is about the Data Validator extension, which only validates data when it's added from the record creator form available from the extension window. Is it possible, for example, to validate data entered from forms in my interface?
