I'm having a hard time finding a simple script that will allow you to duplicate a record via automation.My end goal:Trigger: When a record matches a condition (i.e. a checkbox is checked off)Action: Run script --> this is where I can't find a script online! I need this script to duplicate the selected record.Just simple as that. Can someone help me? Thank you!
Dear, I am using the following automation : It works perfectly fine...but not in every case.Indeed, when the field value contains a space (i.e. "The Demons") or a number within (i.e. The4demons) it doesn't recognize it (even if that of course exactly the same value from a table to another). Hi all,I am having a little trouble. I have a base where all my transactions are summarised in a grid view as below.That works like a dream. Now I need to do two calculation, First I need to minus the subtotal Cost of Goods from the Income. I know I cannot do that in this table, but I think I can create another table where I can do this, based on these records. I am just having trouble making it work. I have tried but for some reason the linking is not working correctly.Can anyone help me with some clear instructions how to set up the second table so I can calculate my Gross Profit (once I have done this I will be able to work out the rest).If these is an extension that anyone knows that allows calculation on Subtotals that would be good. I just do not want to have to export to excel each time I update!Many thanks, Mark
When creating an email automation based upon a record being updated, I want to include the name of the person who updated the record in the email. I have used the field 'User who took action - name', but it returns blank for both the preview and live automation email. Why is this? I am logged in and have a name associated with my account.Thank you
Hi everyone, I'm an AirTable newbie but I have some experience in web development. I'm trying to use REST API to implement table which has a server-side pagination. This means I can't preload all the results to get the pagination parameters like total count. Usually, the API endpoint which returns the records would have this parameter. Unfortunately it doesn't exist so I'm wondering how to do this properly without fetching all the results on FE beforehand. Thanks for the help !
Someone is sharing an Airtable with me, not my account, "use this data" available..How can I sync this data to either another table I own or via Zapier to trigger a zap?Or do i need to request they share the table with me another way?Figured someone here would know....

Hello,This is a variant on an earlier topic. I have a base where users input lengthy URLs into several fields, and corresponding display text in separate fields. I've been using the workaround where a formula field does this calculation: CONCATENATE("[",{name},"](",{URL},")") and an automation takes that field and copies it into a rich-text-formatted long text field. It's clunky, and even clunkier when you have a bunch of markdown formula fields in your base. I'd like to do this with just an automation, but when I try to do it exactly the same way, I get text output like [Airtable](www.airtable.com)whereas my formula approach gives Airtable Here's the automation script I'm using. Hello, im a long time Airtable User.I can't accept the fact that in order to change the start day of the calendar week it is necessary to change the browser language! I need an easier and more practical alternative, like a button to click: week starts on Monday...I've read several threads with other people complaining about the same problem and it still hasn't been resolved. I imagine it's something simple to resolve, I'm waiting for the solution.
I Just tried Airtable Share View Sync option. Comments in the sourced are not synced to the new table. Is there some workaround or option to achieve this? As I need comments also to be synced into new table.
I am attempting to update multiple records in a single automation in a Synced Table. I am unable to update Synced Records from RunScript as I get 'Error: Edits to synced field "Stories Automation" (fldxxxxxx) are not allowed from this origin'.I know I can use the native update record functions to update a single record, but if I put the items into a list attempt to repeat group I am given the error `Synced fields can only be updated in the last action in an automation. Move this action to the end of the automation, or remove the synced field.`What are the options? I'm considering just using an API call to make the changes directly to the original table but am hoping I can do them locally.
Hi!I'm trying to display two lines (series of values) in one line chart.Data goes like:Date / Value 1 / Value 21-1-2024 / 24 / 201-1-2024 / 34 / 201-2-2024 / 40 / 211-3-2024 / 52 / 21 So one line displaying 24,34,40 and 52 and another line in the same chart displaying 20, 20, 21, 21 (for same period (X-axis).Is this possible in interfaces? Or is there another way to achieve something like this?
Hi, can Airtable auto fill with alphanumeric sequence? For example, my sequence goes UF-3101, UF-3102, UF-3103, etc. When I highlight the first two cells and drag it down, it just repeated the UF-3101, UF-3102 over and over instead of adding +1. Anyway airtable can do this? Thanks
When in data view I click a button that opens a URL, each time a new tab opens. To avoid that, I tried the trick of pressing the ⌥ button while clicking the button, but this time a .TXT file gets downloaded onto my computer on the clicking of the button.This is quite annoying, especially when you have to perform a button clicking multiple times. Do you have any solutions in store to circumvent this?I would appreciate your help on this.PS: I saw that this topic had already been covered in previous threads. But I thought that Airtable might have fixed this since the last time it was brought up.
Hello,I am trying to trigger a script when 'Language' field of given record is empty (record=domain).I want the script to fetch domain's language. I first ask script to convert domain to URL, since the API call works best with exact URL and not domain.But the problem is that script can not properly handle permanent redirects. I 've tried handle permanent redirects by trying to convert the domain to a URL using 'https://www' + domainId + '/', but that does not work. STEP 2: Getting a record from Airtable and put it into make to transfer the info into Google Drive (video transcript).Problem in STEP 2I have checked the names and IDs and I don’t know what I am missing. My administrator did the same operation and it showed the “Use Column ID: false”, but we didn’t have any problems or errors until now. I have re-written all the code, redone the tables and the whole process. Have updated all my permissions and the token on Airtable. Hi, is there anyway I can test the automation I make in Airtable locally?I am trying to hit my development server and to check/test if there is problem before I deploy the changes to another environment.I tried to use my exposed public IP, and when I tried to test the automation, it shows this error "TypeError: Requests to '192.168.100.16' are not permitted".Is there anyway to test the automation functionality locally?
I have a Record Template. It has three relevant Tiers:Project> Phases> TasksWhen I use the template to create a new project, the project name get tagged to the phases and the tasks to the phases, but not the tasks to the project. so i have to manually select which project the 50+ tasks are associated to every time a new project is created. I have been working on a base design for some times but I am missing a feature and was wondering if someone here could help me.Goal of the base : Be able to assign employee to a certain project for each day of the week by dragging and dropping their name on the calendar. What I have accomplished so fare : I have three tableTable 1 = Workers / employeesTable 2 = List of projectsTable 3 Junction table to join the workers table and the projects table togetherIn the junction table, I have linked record for workers and for project as well as a date field. Those are the 3 main field I need. Then each record is a formula of those 3 fields which means they are all unique unless a worker works on the same project for the same day (duplicate) which should not happen. Then I use the timeline view in the junction table to view all the employees working on specific projects and on specific dates. The view is exactly what I need. The feature I am missing right now is from the record picker
I've been using AT for a few years now and have begun to really use the automation and other tools that make it easy to share info with others outside of my organization.One thing that continues to happen is I send a note via the Send Record option from a grid which includes all the pertinent info the recipient needs. But at the bottom of each email it also has a link "view in airtable." Clients are now trying to click it and gain access to our base, which is not needed for them to see the info (its all in the email).... Is there a way to remove the "view in airtable" link that automatically appears?(PS - I'm doing this as an ad-hoc manual task, not an automation)
