I am creating a table to get a detailed look at my finances. I want to see cost per day by city and category for the following table schema:Purchasesname, cityName, cost, categoryCitiescityName, daysInCityHow do I create a table with the following fields:cityName,category,costPerDaycity1,food,$20.00city1,lodging,$100.00city1,activities,$50.00city2,food,$30.00city2,lodging,$110.00city2,activities,$60.00I want this to be automated so minimal manual work besides adding each purchase as a record is unnecessary.Currently, I am running into trouble auto-selecting the records by city and category. I have a Record Review Interface that is shared publicly. As expected, the record displayed when following the public link is the one at the top of the underlying sort. I'd like to display a different record in the table as the starting point while retaining the sort for the list of records. The URLs appear to follow a predictable pattern, and the initial URL for the public interface is rewritten as a URL with an appended query (after a "?") referencing the displayed record. The query consists of a six-character string which is consistent, "=rec", and the internal record ID.When I construct a URL containing the query for the desired record and attempt to load it, I receive an "Internal error, Try refreshing the page." message. This also occurs if I simply cut and paste the rewritten URL into a browser window after following the base public link. I am using a browser session that is not signed into Airtable to test the URL strings.Any ideas?

I am setting up a calendar for my team. I would like single day events (records with a start date and no end date) to automatically copy the start date into the end date field.Fields:StartDate - always filled unless TBD, which I have another marker forEndDate - often left empty if a single dayI've tried to make automations and scripts, but I keep getting errors that I don't understand how to fix. I assumed this would be pretty basic, so I don't know what I'm missing. Basically what I want is:IF EndDate is EMPTY, THEN let EndDate = StartDateI don't have enough experience figure out the syntax in airtable; any help would be appreciated.

I have an automation that sends an automatic email. There are 2 date fields in the text. This should display the date and time. unfortunately the date fields are displayed as in the attachment. how can I change this?It would look nicer if everything was like the last one. could be removed

I want to send an automatic email, but unfortunately I get an error message every time I test the automation.although the correct data field was selected and an email address was also stored. That used to always work but suddenly it doesn't work anymore

Hi there,I was able to successful write and run a script for a basic "like" button on a table where team members can sort of upvote a table item. The problem is it does not refresh on the interface for a long time and does not give any haptic feedback to the user - not a good experience at all and very easy to find yourself hitting the button multiple times.Is there a way to get the value to load more quickly on the page? Hello,I would appreciate if someone could help me.In the attendees column, I can link multiple names in one record.I want to create an automation that allows me to create a record in another table whenever a name is added in the attendees. I tried doing it using the automation in airtable: whenever a record is updated in the attendees a record is created in another table with the name of each person. But the problem is all the names are being shown in that table.So, how can I create an automation where I can have the name of each person in one record.

I have a formula field that only shows me the name from a string. I would like to use this name in an automatic email. Unfortunately I can't see the name.

 In a few of our bases, we have either password protected the shared grid view, or we have disabled the share view link completely. However, we're finding that a different URL for that same grid view is still being accessed, even though there is no link associated. This means people with a link are able to see the contents of this grid view. We're also finding that this URL is different from the original link that was associated with the base.Is there a way to view what links are tied to the base? Has anyone else experienced this issue? We are trying to get these links offline. Hope this makes sense. Please let me know if any clarification needs to be given.

Hi,I wonder if I can somehow give a copy of a Base to another user?I have a blank Template base (with just the column names and formulas and such) and I would like to give a copy of this Base to another user. This other user is NOT part of my company or organization. I do NOT want them to be a 'collaborator' in any senses - I just want to hand off a single copy of the Base to them, and then they can do whatever they want with it, and not involve us at all (or our account at all). Is this possible somehow?thank you!-Ed

So I've been developing an Airtable base for months to track & log operations. Since there are so many moving parts, creating google calendar invites are a must for the employees who will be a part of the operations. I've been reaching an error with the Google Calendar automation to create events, which I will show in a screenshot. I cannot seem to find what the limits are to find a workaround, some days I can only generate less than 10, other days I can generate around 50. It is never consistent, and I've been trying to find resources to figure this out - but I have not yet. If anybody has any workarounds, or knows the usage limits, that would save me so much trouble. I don't want to use any third party automation software, I would like to keep everything in Airtable Automations.  

The record limit for the free plan is 1000. I am only at 500 records.  

I’m trying to use a find/update zap to automate a record update in Airtable, Some empty fields need to get new data, some get updates and others need to be cleared. The Zap correctly adds the new and updated data, but I can’t figure out how to DELETE data from the fields that I want emptied (which are date fields). With other numeric fields, it’s easy to just set the update value to “0”, but this doesn’t seem to work for date formatted fields. I’ve tried 0 =0 -1 0/0/0000 0000-00-00 =BLANK() Null Creating an empty dummy field and setting the value equal to that No luck. I asked Zapier first, thinking they might have some special formula or syntax to use for this kind of thing, but they told me it’s restricted on the Airtable side and overwriting with blanks isn’t permitted. I thought I’d ask here in case anyone else has come up with a solution/hack to clear/empty/erase a cell or make it “null”. Thanks.

In the form I have a data record field where all free rooms are displayed. All occupied rooms are not displayed. However, if I have a reservation for the future, the assigned room is immediately marked as occupied even though it is still available until the specific reservation date. So far I have no idea how to solve the problem.

Is it possible to subsequently edit an existing data record using a form, for example to change a status. without making the change directly in the table?

im having trouble with grouping and field visibility fields in list interface.i have a mega table with all users, tenants employees suppliers. i created tabs. but as soon as i groupe the tenant tabs by their property building it groups it for all other tabs. same for fields. lets say i want the email in tenants but i dont want the email in suppliers, i cant its across the board

Being new to airtable and not wanting to pollute the forums with silly questions I can look up myself, I've been trying to go to the online help to solve my own questions.  Unless I'm missing it, most of what they provide is an organized set of articles which is to be frank, frustratingly useless to this old school gray haired developer.  I was hoping to find a simple itemized list of terms with reference/example type information, almost like a dictionary. Every other programming language has this kind of thing, and you can easily find terms that sound like what you want with a quick description (reference style) and a few examples.  Does this kind of thing exist, or is it just the article format?  I know I can pay for teams and do the AI thing, or go ask chatgpt, but I'd rather just do it old school and research it quickly.Thanks.
