Hello everyone,I currently have two tables, one for Plants (industrial power/chemical plants) and one for Events (scheduled maintenance outages). Each Plant has a unique Plant ID that is also listed on each Event with multiple Events for each Plant. Is there a way to automatically link each Event to its respective Plant based on matching the Plant ID in each record? In other words, is there an automation that exists or can be created that looks at the Plant ID on the record in the Plant table and the Event table, recognizes that field as identical on both, then links the two records? Thank you!KCVellichor

I chose the "When a record is updated" option in the Automation trigger with multiple field selections, and the Next step is Scriptwriting, In the script, I need to track which field has been updated recently (i.e. which updated field triggers this automation).Eg: Table AField 1 | Field 2 | Field 3 | Field 4These four fields are selected in the "When a record is updated" option of the Automation trigger.If Field 1 has been updated recently, we need to track that Field 1 has been updated recently.If Field 2 is updated recently, we need to track that Field 2 is updated recently.Based on the Field update I have to write logic.

Hi AT CommunityI have a Google Sheet which has cell values (text/currency) which I would like to bring into Airtable. Along with those values I need the user to answer some questions. I would like to prefill form fields with the cell values from the Google Sheet, hide the fields, leaving visible only the questions which I need answering. Any suggestions on how I could go about this please? It needs to be a one step from Google Sheet to Form. I have looked into prefilling a Google Form from Google Sheet, this then populates Google Sheet (form response Google Sheet), when a row is added it creates a record in Airtable Base. I don't think you can hide Google form fields which isn't a huge problem, but not my preference. Any other thoughts or suggestions. THANK YOU.

Hi,I have a field with created dates. I would like to be able to create a chart that shows this data, grouping by the month of the created date. However I want the year to be irrelevant. For example, March 2024 and March 2022 to be shown in the same group within the chart.I have created a new field with a formula to show the month only which works perfectly. But then when I create a chart on the interface, they are in alphabetical order and not date order which is not want we want.Can't think of a way to make the chart display the months in date order, or another way for this all to work. Any help is appreciated!

I have a base that allows my constituent departments to submit requests for communication/outreach production. Each department has an individually tailored interface so that the fields are customized to what they need and use regularly with departmental communications. This allows me to maintain all requests in a centralized location, but also keep and track long term comms. planning separated by department.I need to be able to utilize the "user" field in each interface so that records can be assigned to one or more individuals. However, each unit should only have the ability to view and assign users that have access to that specific interface. Right now, it shows all users who have access to the entire base. It even displays deactivated users. Further customization of user settings, groupings, access, etc., would be even better, but this basic setting is a must for our needs. If anyone has any insight on how to make this happen, we'd be so appreciative! 

Has anyone noticed changes in how automations are functioning? I used to be able to update linked record fields with record IDs from previous steps, but now they all come out as comma-separated strings. See attached pics:  

Sorry that this question looks a little like a written math problem, but:We are tracking employee requested PTO via Airtable.When an employee uses their PTO, they can request to pull from a group of 5 temps to cover their shifts.We'd like for employees to be able to see a list of dates that still have temps available before they put in their PTO requests.What I can seem to do is group by date of time off requested, and it shows me the total count for how many times a specific date has a request for a temp. (See below - 1 person requested a temp on 3/14, while 4 people requested a temp on 3/15.)Or, I can have a calendar view, stripped of personal information, that shows how many requests have been made of a specific day. (See below.)

Hello community,I'm trying to make use of an automated email that inserts a file name and a google drive url every time a document with a particular naming convention is added to my google drive.  I generate the airtable record using a make.com integration, and then the email fires in the native airtable "Gmail:send email" function.  (I suppose I could try to take this automation to make.com instead, but I'm hoping my use case is simple enough that I can just keep it in airtable for now).The problem I am coming across is that my file names have underscores in them, and my google drive URLs sometimes have characters that seem to cut off the complete URL.What happens when the file name has _filename_ in it, is that airtable removes the underscores and turns filename into italics.  I've tried using the "escape markdown" tag (see here: https://su

Hello:New to Airtable and new to the forum here...Looking for a solution to combine records in my field {Component], for every change in records in my fields {Location ID} and {Room}.  For example, in the attached image I would want to combine WF218, W361824, RF9624 3/4, W3330, and so on to B18, in a new field.  This is to correspond with {Location ID} 1-3-302 and with {Room} A Acc Kitchen.  For the next combined field, the result would be ADA SB30, for location 1-3-302 and room A Acc Bathroom.  I would like to accomplish with a formula, but I understand I may need to create a new linked table.  I am attaching 2 views; one is grouped and one is a straight view, for clarity.  Thanks so much!!  

How do you keep track time spend on a given task ? I’d love a ChromeExtension to start/Stop a timer on a given list of task (aka an AirTable View) I don’t know if for a given Task it is better to Start / Stop a Duration field on a kind of Task row Start / Stop a tracker that will have a reference to a Task (to say I work on that Monday, Tuesday and Friday) Anyway : all Pomodoro “like” are bazooka with non sens paid subscription … third party app SaaS, etc … AirTable WebClipper is not very handy AirTable TimeTracker use Dashboard (I find dashboard not very usefull for many reason) Any Idea before I code my own extension quick and dirty ? The cleanest solution (for me) would be something like WebClipper but to edit existing items and not only add new ones. So I would be able to quickly update task of a view for instance.

Hi, Table A, B, and C. Table B fields are linked with Table A and Table C. I'm trying to run automation. Whenever a new record is added, I will filter the records from Table A and Table C based on the condition. Then I need to create a record in Table B by linking the data from Table A and Table C. Now I can filter the records from Table A and Table C using the Find Records action. but not able to run a nested repeating loop. I can do only one repeating loop.

Hi there,I have 2 tables in the same base, one for adding data and one for report.I want to create a new record in the "report" table every time I add a new row to my "data" table with an automation.BUT I don't want to have a duplicate records. I want to check if the text in the "Name" column in my "data" table matches "Name" column in the "report" table.(if they match - do nothing)I try to do it with "Find records" but I don't quite familiar with it.What is the best way to do it?Thank you.

Hello! I found the "Splitting text to alternate columns separated by ;" thread and was hopeful that it was exactly what I needed, but after trying to implement this formula I am not getting the expected outcome. I'm not sure if it has to do with the format of my data including a mix of hyphens and underscores or if there is something else I'm missing.I have anywhere between 1 to 5 lines of text that I need to break out into their own columns instead of being combined. Ideally I would have five new formula columns that allow me to break these out based on them being separated by "\n" or if that it not possible, I can also add a ";" at the end of each line to simplify the formula if it helps!Example Data:abc_def-gh_ij-x-kl_mno-pqu-first-msg-x-240101abc_def-gh_ij-x-kl_mno-pqu-second-msg-x-240102abc_de

I am trying to figure out how I can get more than ONE record on a page in the page designer app. It seems like you can only have one record per page. I would like to have up to 20 records on one page. Is this possible? Thanks!

I am looking for something like page designer where I can populate variables based on fields in airtable. However, I want the output to be back to back in a single document like notepad. I don’t want to deal with physical page sizes and I don’t want each record on a different page. Is there anything out there?
