Ive tried to set p a workflow automation to X - but Im getting errors?  

I’m trying to create a database to track income from various deals. I have several different types of deals with different commission rates and they are covered in separate tables - but often several types of deal will apply to one title (I’m a literary agent) and I’m trying to bring it all together so I know, for each title, what the author earned and what the agency earned.I’ve successfully set this up using look up fields for one set of deals but now I’ve started adding in another set and something is going wrong but I can’t see what I’m doing differently. The main information is clearly coming through because the name field (which is generated via automation when the original table is updated) but the look up fields for those records aren’t pulling through. Any thoughts why that might be? Thanks   

Hello I am trying to share an interface to new users as view-only. This shared interface should be as low-effort as possible, immediate access to the table and the detailed records, nothing else. Instead the invited user is asked to sign-up (for free), is shown an horrible and totally irrelevant App Builder process and shown he has 14-days free account. This is totally unacceptable for us: is that how it is supposed to work?  How do expert users of Airtable do this? Is it possible to embed the interface somewhere else? Or do we need to build in our website these interfaces via API? 

I have an interface with a list that has a button that needs to grab records in a linked table.I thought that the searchable area would always be the primary field of the child table. In my instance, the data from some rollup fields in that table.Does anyone know how to control what’s being used as a searchable field and what 5 columns are shown in the selector, as I’m about to go crazy, as it’s really difficult just to select something where everything is NA?

Hi there! I created an interface for my base with 3 pages. In one of the pages, I want an element of a record to link to another from a different page. See attached image, circled is the element I want to pop up automatically when I input the “account” in the original record. Right now I have to manually add it.

These accounts all roll up under OPEX, and more specifically under the top-level group account “610000 – Staff Costs”. Some of these accounts belong to the group accounts:611000 – Direct Staff Costs 612000 – Other Personnel Costs 613000 – Car CostsNow here’s the situation:Certain accounts are budgeted at the employee level only and should not be editable elsewhere. Hey,I have an extension in Airtable that creates a file for each record within a Table. Is it possible to download each file as a pdf and populate a file field in the same Airtable record? Each file generated by the extension doesn't have a unique URL (that I can find) to that records extension file making it difficult to download automatically. Please help!Thanks 

Hi Everyone, I’ve been searching the community pages and it seems that there is no way to create PDF’s automatically from templates created using Page designer, is that right? I’ve created the field type ‘Button’ to click which displays the document in the page designer app perfectly. But, I then have to manually save it as a PDF. What I’d like, is to be able to click the button and for that document to be automatically downloaded and saved as a PDF file. Surely this must be possible? It just seems crazy that the button can produce the document but can’t save the file. Am I missing something? What do people use the Page Designer app for if not to create documents which they then want to attach and send to their customers? Thanks, Rosa

Our finance department wants to start using Airtable to send out invoices to vendors. Is there a way to place a template invoice somewhere, and then have an automation modify the template pdf with chosen data from our vendors listings with their invoice? (i.e- from template to a customized pdf with their information, amount to pay etc).

I would like to generate a PDF out of a record (to easily visualize the data) and attach the record as an attachment. I would like to do this for all the records in my base. Any ideas on how to do this using either a script or Zapier/Integromat, possible using Formstack (does not have to use formstack though)? Would love any insight - I am capable of coding in JavaScript and can leverage that if necessary.

Hi there - I have a list of outputs and am trying to create a PDF listing those. Is it possible to create a PDF via script? Or what other methods are there other than one line per PDF? How could you use the PDFs if linking all records to one record in another table?

Hi AllI am new to Airtable…..I have set up a base with all my customer records and imported sales data to populate all my fields.Now that I have new sales data, I cannot import the data to over-write existing data. All I seem to do every which way I try is create duplicate account information with new sales figures.This is really frustrating. I have tried using data from excel, CSV file as well as Google Sheets with the same result.What am I doing wrong???? Any help will be appreciated.

I'm running into an issue with how our team interacts with our employee database through interfaces.We have staff who need to edit certain fields in the record detail view, but we're constantly running the risk of someone accidentally overwriting key info with a wrong input. Making the detail record view view only isn't an option, because they still need to be able to update certain data when necessary.What we really need is some kind of toggle in the detail record view that lets you switch between "view" and "edit" mode—so by default it's safe to browse, but editing can be turned on when needed.Is there anything like this available? Or any workarounds you've used to prevent accidental edits while still allowing flexibility? Thanks! 

When adding a sync table to our base, we have an option to either “delete the records” or “leave the records” in the destination table when the records are deleted from the source table. See screenshot below for a screenshot of this option. I find this Sync Setting problematic for 3 reasons: It’s not truly a “sync” if the records are mismatched between 2 tables. We have absolutely no way to distinguish (in our destination table) whether or not a record was deleted in the source table. Airtable gives us absolutely no way to tell if a record still exists, or if it’s just a “phantom ghost record” that once existed a long time ago. This is yet another security hole in Airtable. If I delete a record from a base, it’s probably because I don’t want anyone to see that record anymore. Yet anybody who has formerly setup a sync to my table can now see previously-deleted records. Is there a way to enable AI Assistant in a shared base view (from the shared link option)? I understand how to use AI Assistant currently as a user with access, but I share a raw database periodically with stakeholders without user access and it would be helpful if they could hit the database with their own queries.  

Hi!  I might just be silly, but is there not a way to copy and paste a status across several records in list view? In grid view it’s easy, just copy a cell and paste. Is there not an easy and quick way to do this in list view?

I manage a small farm, and want to build a better wholesale order system. I feel that what I want to do should be possible with airtable as a backend and an intergrated form builder (and/or using make.com automations), but I don’t currently know what tools to use. So I’ll describe what I’m trying to do, and see if anyone here has some suggestions to get me started. I’ve spent quite a lot of time with jotform and fillout, and don’t think they have a good solution.Ideally I’d do the data entry on airtable, and a form builder would automate a lot of the rest of the process.There are a few things that make the form building challenging:We deal with dozens of products changing each week customers order in different “units” (retailers will order 30x bunches of carrots, a restaurant will order 10kg; a retailer will order 25 bags of salad, a restaurant will order 3kg) customers have different pricing

I have a Form that is submitted and an automation to respond with the same attachments to every form requestor. I realize I cannot add just a add a PDF straight to that field in the automation for emails. SO My question is how do I somehow get it to pull up and attach the same document to every form request? I am wondering also what it means to add an attachment via Table and Field Id’s , can i reference an attachment in a certain record? : These are the options on what I can add as an email attachment.  

I’ve made a print designer template with an A4 canvas. Every time I print it, it consistently exports two pages rather than one, and the first is always blank.  I’ve checked for random elements outside the canvas; however, I can’t seem to find any.I tried to shrink down the export, but that does not work either.Does anyone have any idea how I can get rid of the blank page?

Hello community,From my understanding, Airtable’s native scatter plot doesn’t allow you to plot individual data points. It only allows you to plot an aggregation for each x-value. I think this formula IF({Last Deployment} = 'MM/DD/YY', 'MM/DD/YY', "*") says: IF (the value of the field Last Deployment is a date, show the date, otherwise pop in an asterisk (instead of #ERROR!)) But what I’m getting now is either an  * or #ERROR! - pretty much the opposite of what I am trying to accomplish. 

Has anyone experienced all of your progress in Airtable Academy disappearing?  Logged in today and all of my completed courses and certifications are gone?

About revision history… Is it possible to export the data of revision history? not even over the API? With user accessing to over the portal, without base access, is the revision history working too? does it record who (name or email) is adding/changing this or that?Thanks

We are just getting into using Airtable more across the company and are wanting to connect it with several of our existing systems (Sage Intacct, Workday Adaptive Planning, Asana, DocuSign, Google Suite). We are looking into Zapier, Workado, Make, and Power Automate. Do you all have any experience with any of these? Are there any others worth checking out? Thank you!
