I have two linked tables in the same base i) Accounts ii) Meetings. I would like to update the “status” field (single select) on the Accounts table based on the the “meeting outcome” field (single select) on the Meetings table. For example if I create a new record in the Meetings table for Account#5 and I set the Meeting “status” field to “Successful”, I would like to automatically change Account#5’s record in the Account table to “Won”. Conversely, if I create a new record in the Meetings table for Account#5 and I set the Meeting “status” field to “Unsuccessful”, I would like to automatically change Account#5’s record in the Account table to “Lost”. Can this be achieved with automations? I haven’t used scripts and am not a programmer so not to comfortable using that approach.
Hi, I’m currently in the process of trying to perform an automated update of a table record based on the trigger type “When Webhook received” (still in alpha dev phase). It indicates sending a webhook request to an ‘example’ webhook address in order to indicate ID references. I have placed the example webhook address into a script app in the base that is intended to trigger the update automation via webhook. I have also included two input variables in the webhook call. The intent in doing this is to have the script call the webhook to trigger update automation and use the input variables to a) identify the correct record to update and b) provide the updated value to the intended field to update. The result is the error in the screenshot below. This raises the obvious two-part question: Why is the console message indicating that the URL is not found and the automation test failing as a result? Thoughts anyone? Am I overcomplicating this endeavor to start with? Thanks in advance! (Yes,
The processing (or calculations) I need to perform are currently done in a Google Sheet. The calculations in the sheet are straightforward but have about 20 steps, and the final result is a string (an array) in a cell in the Google Sheet. I want that result in a cell back in AirTable. I am sure there’s a way to write a custom script with Javascript in an Automation and write result to the cell. I’ve started, but I’m not strong with JS. I would like to explore other more low/nocode ways do these calculations. I imagine there exists some other low/nocode SaaS tool that you can build a little black-box app with build business logic and calculations and spit out a result. In summary, here’s what I’m currently doing that I need to automate without Google Sheets: Row in AirTable has 5 values. I manually copy those 5 values into a Google Sheet, which does a bunch of calculations, involving creating a 12-period time series with about 20 rows of partial calculations, ultimately collecting the
Hi, I’m trying to update a record and select specific options in a multi-select field via Integromat and need some help. One of my preceding modules in Integromat gives me an array of destinations. Something like this: Destinations = [Africa, Asia, Australia and South Pacific, Central America and Caribbean, Europe, Middle East, North America, Polar Regions, South America] In Airtable I have a multi-select field with these exact options I referred to this thread, but can’t get Integromat to put the original multi-select values directly into the multi-select field as suggested by @ScottWorld. When I try this, I keep getting a “Cannot parse value for field Destination Options”. As you can see from the image above, I am using an iterator to iterate through each value in the Array and pass on the Update Airtable Record module hoping that on each iteration, the next item from the Array, i.e. one destination at a time, will get ‘checked’ in the multi-select field in Airtable. Am I going abo
Hi, So I’ve got a Zap sending data to Airtable on a from submission is Webflow, the Zap then also adds the uploaded attachment to the CMS item as a link in Webflow so Webflow form → Airtable → Airtable → Webflow CMS Item. Only the problem is that the link that ends up in Webflow’s CMS is still the uploaded Webflow froms link. Very new to airtable, but is there an automation I can run when Zapier adds the Webflow form file upload link to the Airtable Attachment field that will actually add the file to Airtable so that Airtable isn’t just adding the same Webflow link back into Webflow? I need all the uploaded files to live in Airtable. You can see the steps in the Zap here and that Airtable is just passing the same link back from the Attachment field instead of a link to the file in Airtable.
I have created an automation in Airtable that schedules a post in Hootsuite when the Status field is “APPROVED”. My Date, Copy, and Attachment fields are correctly mapping to Hootsuite, BUT I need my “Image Link” field to map to Hootsuite. I need this to happen so when someone clicks on the image of my post on LinkedIn, it opens to a hyperlinked location vs just expanding the image. Right now, I have to remove all of the copy and the attachment that was automatically populated, paste the “Image Link,” click the “custom link preview” button, upload my attachment, remove my pasted link, and paste back in the copy. There HAS TO BE an easier way - help! This is a screenshot of my base. I’ve circled the fields that are correctly mapping in RED and the field that I need to map in blue: This is a screenshot of how it appears when it automatically uploads to Hootsuite: And here are screenshots of the lengthy process that I have to go through to get the post in the format needed, all because
I would like to take participants’ responses to an Airtable survey, create a visualization of them, and send the graphic via email. There will be a lot of participants who complete the survey, so I would like to automate this process. The goal is that: (1) a participant completes the survey (2) a graphic is automatically generated from their unique survey responses (3) this graphic is automatically sent to that specific participant via email. Is there a way using to configure this within AirTable such that a unique graphic is generated automatically based on a participant’s survey responses and that this unique graphic is sent to them automatically via email?
Hi I have a schedule that has a start time and date and a duration and the end time and date is calculated from the duration. I’ve set up an automation that creates a Google Calendar event whenever a new event is created in Airtable. The automation fails because it can’t seem to read the End time and date formula. However, the weird thing is that if I duplicate and event (instead of adding new) the automation runs fine. Can anyone help/explain and offer a solution? Thanks
Dear community, I am trying to link google calendar with my table so that when a prospect who is already in my table takes an appointment with me, the time and date of the appointment appears in a column. The way I thought I’d do that was creating an automation like this :slightly_smiling_face: trigger = new event in google calendar 1st action = find the record where the email address matches with the event attendees 2nd action = update the record found in the 1st action with starting date and time but I can’t select the condition of 1st action as the dynamic variable “attendee” any tips to succeed in my project? Thanks
Hi, I’m looking to set up automations to remind me of due dates. I was using a datetimediff formula, but it says NaN. I want to take todays date-the due date and have it show how many days until the due date, then I was going to schedule an automation to send out whenever tasks are due in 3 days or less. The formula I’m using is: DATETIME_DIFF({Today’s Date}, {Due Date }, ‘days’)
I have a table for tracking sleep as well as a second table to track how long I was awake each day. I’ve been filling out the “Awake” table manually so far, but I’m trying to have it automatically populate. So far I have the table successfully linked to the date, day, week, and wake time, but I’m having trouble filling the bedtime. I need to link to the bedtime from the record from the day before the current record is linked to. The previous record would also work. I’m not sure how to do this. I’m very new to automations in general and trying to practice. Help? There’s probably something obvious I’m not thinking of
Hi Dear, I try to create a table for Calls (duration, caller name, description, some statistic data about the caller (sex, age, location)). I have another table with Regular callers, who calls us frequently, with all the their statistics (sex, age, location). In the Calls table there is a linked field to choose the regular caller. I would like that if I choose a regular caller all the statistic data I already recorded in the regular caller table to be copied in the Calls table. But lookup fields are not good solutions for this, because if the caller is not a regular one (regular caller field is blank) I need to give these statistics here manually. In case of lookup the system does not allow it. Is there a solution for this? Thanks a lot Tamás
I have a view that is grouped by a single select field called Program Name. In this view I can see a count of records per Program Name. How can I create a script to give me a count of records grouped by program name? Ultimately I want to create an automation that will email me a summary of records by Program Name. I cannot do a linked field as the Program Name is a single select field chosen by a form.
I’ve got a base with three different forms feeding it. One is for people, the other is for tasks, the last is for a reward. As rewards are submitted I want to randomly pair the reward to a task. Is there a way to automate this process?
Hi, I have a base that has two tables with linked records. Table1 fields : Name, Number, Sum (linked to table2) Table2 fields: Name, record, Table1, Total (roll up value of each category of name) This works beautifully manually, for every new record i create in Table1. But has been failing in automation. This is what I am doing: Trigger on new record creation: Note: in table 2 I have a row with unique “name” from table 1. In this action I am trying to find the record with name == name of the record created. And finally, Update the field “sum” in Table1 with the record found in previous step. The tests pass, but actually fails when a new record is created. Screenshot below. Apparently, it’s an invalid filter on the record. It appears simple and at this point I do not know how to fix it OR why it’s not working. Can any one assist in getting this to work please? Thank you.
Hi. I’ve set up a few automations with no problems, but I am not sure how to do this one… or if it can be done. I have an AutoDate column, so when a form entry comes in, it auto-dates the entry of the form. However, I need to then copy that date over to another column (also called Date). That second column, called Date, is used in another formula in the sheet, and I need to be able to edit it (in a way I cannot edit the AutoDate column). But since they are the same 95% of the time, it would save me time if it could auto-populate. So, in short, how can I automate copying date from the Auto-Date field to the Date field? Is this possible?
I am experimenting with Webhooks to move data back and forth between bases. I just want to make sure what I am seeing/doing is necessary. When I setup a test POST from an external tool to test the webhook, any data elements defined the JSON are created as values in javascript editor. However, I would prefer to read the entire json object as new fields may become necessary. What I did was create an object that looked like this: { "theData" : "Anything" } I tested the webhook and “theData” was available to the script editor. I then created a more representative object like this: { "theData" : { "fieldOne" : "Some data", "fieldTwo" : "More data", "fieldThree" : "and even more data" } } This works fine and my code is working. Is this how I have to set it up? If I send the second structure as a test, the script editor forces me to select one of the nested fields. I cannot select the top level key. It’s not the worst thing to have to do but it does seem like a bit of an extra step.
Is it possible to add data to Airtable simply by sending an email to a predefined email address?
I have 6 workspaces bases that I would like to organize in a particular order. I am unable to drag, or anything else. I see that others have posted this question, but I don’t see the answer.
I’m running an automation that triggers on a record being created, it is meant to update a multiple select field “Users Created” by adding a new option value to the field. I used the general solution recommended by others which is: The result being that it when it updates the field it returns an empty option value paired with new value, completely erasing any existing values on that field. I thought this might be an issue with the multiple select field but I tried it for a Long Text as well and it can’t seem to find the past values when I list it like this and gives this empty + new value result as well. So I’m not sure if I’m missing something small or if it is a bug. Any ideas on how to fix this would be appreciated, have spent a lot of time testing a bunch of things to get this to work with no luck.
Hi there. I’m experiencing a strange issue. I have a number of records that contain a URL to a PDF. When I click on the link, the PDF opens. Howver when i update an “attachment” field with this URL, the PDF doesn’t get stored. I tried this via API (integromat) as well as via an Airtable automation. Airtable keeps refusing to store the PDF. When I manually click on the attachment field and add the URL, the PDF gets properly stored. What could be the reason for this behaviour and how could I fix this?
Hello guys! I would like help creating a “Monthly Billing” table. The question is: I have a table called “Jobs” where I add all the jobs that my clients ask me for, this table contains several columns, including a “month/year”, and also a column referring to the value of each job requested. Now I would like to create a table referring to the “Monthly Billing”, containing the “Gross Monthly Billing” and the “Net Monthly Billing”. In “Monthly Gross Billing” I would like it to be the sum of the value of all jobs referring to month “X” in the “Jobs” table and in “Monthly Net Billing” I would like it to be {Monthly Gross Billing} - all values from column “Cost/Month” of a third table called “Cost of Operation”. It would be very important that this table called “Monthly Billing” could be organized by Month. I’m new to Airtable so I’m still learning how it works, thanks so much for all the help. I put some pictures of my tables to make it easier to understand.
Last night I was trying to update an automation when it crashed. I now can’t open the automation and it gives me the error has occurred error when trying to open the automation. The automation still works and is set to ON but I can’t open it to make any changes. Any suggestions? I’ve tried to clear the browser cache with now luck and I haven’t heard back from Airtable support yet. Cheers
I have an automation that hits a Twilio Studio Flow URL from a script and runs every 15 minutes. I get the first record that does not contain a checkmark, use that record, and then add a checkmark to the record. Eventually, all the records get a checkmark, and when they do, I want to start the script over (by unchecking all the records) or tell the script to stop running
Hi! I am working on an HR base. I want to create updates between two tables: Interviewers & Applicants. There is a link to another record field column called ‘Interviewer’ which shows which team member will interview for a particular role. I want to set up an automation so that each time we receive a new job application (Applicants table) for a particular role, the link to another record field Interviewer field will automatically update with the team members name who is going to interview them (which is already predetermined)? Is this possible? Thank you, Lizzie
