Hello again - I'm having trouble getting an Interface button to call a recordId when it is pressed. I created an interface view of a Record List for an Attendance table and even though the button is in the Record Detail view (Pic #1), I can't get it to send a RecordID to the automation. I've rebuilt the interface multiple times and the automation.But, when I run the automation within the table and click the button in the column, it works. But not entirely: I created a webhook>docupilot>gmail workflow to make a PDF and send an email. I have the Immediately as data arrives switch ON in Make, but, it doesn't do that. I have to click Run once - Wait for new data, then, go in Table view and hit the button and then it works. Automation json attached too.My whole goal is to have it so I can at least just click the button of all the rows on by one in Table view (Pic #2) and the automation through Make processes the pdfs (I'm making pdf certificates for rows that

Hi there!I have made a regular airtable automation to send an e-mail when certain conditions are met. I was wondering, is there a way to have a value (not a list of values) of a certain cell in a certain row as an e-mail subject?To put it more directly, when status of an order (field order status) is "finished", an e-mail is sent where the name of the client (field client) from the same record is a part of the e-mail subject.Any help is very much appreciated!

Hi guys,We'd like to be able to import a list of around 30 items (BoM) at a time to a Cost Estimates table, create a single record in a Cost Centres table and link all the items in the BoM import to this Cost Centres record. The name of the Cost Centre record won't be known on import, so can't be specified in the importing csv. Each import should create a new Cost Centres record.I have tried playing around with automations but hit the issue of automations running in parallel and creating several Cost Centre records before the BoM records find them and start linking to them.I'm sure this can be done with a script but I'm hoping there's a way I can avoid that. If not, I'm happy to pursue that avenue and am open to some advice on how best to implement that.Thanks in advance for any suggestions!Josh

Hello helpful community,I have a primary table of People with PersonID as the key. I have 2 secondary tables, Notes and Assignments, where PersonID is a linked field. A user reads the Note, creates an Assignment, then marks the Note complete. I'm trying to create an automation where:Once a Note is marked complete,Find the Assignment with the corresponding Person, and Copy the content from a field in Notes to a field in Assignments.All goes well, I think, until the 3rd step. Here is Step 2, it yields the results I expect.Here is Step 3 where I get the "Invalid input" error message. How do I select the RecordID of the row we're iterating through in the Assignments table? I'm not sure what to select here:Added complication: Some people have 2 Assignments, and I'd like to copy the Notes field to both Assignments. Any help or guidance would be appreciated, thanks!

Hello.Until today, I managed to insert a tidy parcel of HTML into my Gmail automation templates resulting in beautifully branded emails. But that hack has suddenly broken across two bases. Does anyone have any idea why and how to fix it? Thanks.Kate

Apologies if I don't use any of the correct terminology when explaining this problem. I have a form set up and I want the information in each field in that table (Table A) to populate fields in other tables. I have managed to make some of this work using a trigger that watches for new records being created in Table A and creating a new record in Table B with linked fields that end up creating records in Tables C through E. I was able to set up an automation in using a trigger that watches for new records being created in Table C which happens automatically because of the linked records in Table B that then finds records in Table D and updates records with empty fields with information from a field in Table C. That's as far as I got but I am two automations short from having all of this work as intended. I created another similar automation to populate an email address field in Table C with information from Table A using the same record creation trigger from the first automation I made

Hi 🙂I am trying to set an automation that will update a specific field based on the information that is on another table. The field I want to update is called Relatorio as shown bellow.I want to bring a field from another table that has the same number as the fiel (Item LV) from this table.Here is the picture from the table I want to retrieve the content from.I want to compare the ITEM LV from the first table and compare it to the ITEM from the last table and update the field RELATORIO from the first table with the content found on RESSALVA from the second. So every time ITEM = ITEM LV it should the update.The first table should be completed with aaaa on the first line, ddddd on the second and eeee on the third line.I setup the automation like this but it finds no records.Tks for the help

I have an automation that once an attachment field is not empty, it creates a new record in a different base with that attachment and a few other fields.Is there a way, that if the attachment field has more than 1 file, it will create a new record for each one of those files?

So I just purchased Airtable for our business use case. I am devastated to understand there is no support for creating new tables automatically. The only way to do this is to have a custom app script, however this would need to be triggered manually and will not run in the background… Why does the automation scripting not contain the required functionality that the blocks SDK does? Why is this feature limited to only reading table metadata, if blocks SDK can do it - why can’t the automation scripts? This is so disappointing… I CANNOT BELIEVE the standard API does not have a create table endpoint, where you can define the fields automatically. How are we supposed to develop an automated solution if we constantly have to manually press buttons to create new tables… And upon searching the community pages - there is not one response from the airtables team that shows they will work on this feature or when. What a waste of money upgrading to the pro plan to see inside the automation script

It would be incredibly useful if the Slack integration could send a message to a person pulled from a field in a table.As it stands, when using the Slack integration in an automation you have to choose (hardcode) the person(s) or channel(s) you want to send the message to.Use case: I have a table that syncs issues from a ticketing system. Each record has an "assignee" field. When a new record enters a view I want a Slack message sent to the person in the assignee field.

I have a table with a date field, an I want to link these dates to another table, but group them by month. This is so I can create rollups for monthly financial figures. I have tried to create an automation to auto fill in another field, using the date as its source and then converting the format to mmmm yyyy, from the usual dd/mm/yy. I then linked this field to the other table, but now the automation does not update it even if it runs successfully.Can anyone help solve this issue?

Hello! I am attempting to assign employees to presentation times and have the automation create the event and invite them to it via Outlook. I've established everything necessary but cannot assign the public calendar in the Outlook: Create Event automation. I also cannot adjust the "From" email. I need to do so because we want the invites to come from a shell email address and not from an individual, and utilizing the Public Folder Calendar in outlook instead of a personal outlook calendar that is shared so that we don't have any interruptions if the owner leaves the company. Can anyone advise a workaround or if this is a feature that Airtable is working on?Thanks!

I want to create look up field for only apartment details in a row that I have in a table called lease tracker in a base The row has 50 columns and lets say I just want 20 columns data to atomically go to the other tables in my base when updated to the specific unit number of a rental building. My current tables in my base are called, listings, building, apartment rented, calendly interaction,  and lease tracker.I want the tables to look up the data in my lease tracker table and put only the apartment details in the other bases.  I have multiple buildings and multiple apartment number listed in two different columns of the table with the other columns so not sure how to look only the specific unit number of a specific building. I already have look up on these other tables to look up the building table and put it on the other tables automatically What is the best option to do this so I can share the individual apartment details with a building with the other tables. 

I know this is impossible as far as basic automation behavior, so I'm mostly looking for ideas on what I could do.I have a form for requesting time slots. Because of the way my department works, only a certain time frame should be open at any given time for these requests, and it's in six month chunks. I'm using the range limit on my Event Start/End fields to do this, and it works as expected.At this present moment, let's say we're only able to select a time slot from January - June. But in June, I'd need to change the range limit for both fields on the form to reflect that selections can be made from July - December. While I could do this manually, I won't be an admin on this once it's live, so I'd like to make the range limit change automatic if possible.Any chance I can alter form configuration on an automatic schedule? Code-heavy solutions are very welcome.

Ive been looking all over youtube and the forums to find something that matches the automation I have in mind but to no avail unfortunately. Im attempting to create an inventory list that pulls from an item master list.Currently every detail of items being stored on shelves is being manually typed out, I would like to improve the process but typing in the details once into the item master and whenever a part is being put away the PN is typed in, the remaining data would be pulled from a separate table and auto populate in their respective fields. Hi all,I'm new to airtable and I'm trying to take first steps using automations.I'm setting up notifications about a new tasks: an email is sent every time a task with to-do status is assigned to a user. The emails are sent fine, this part works like a charm. But here is the difficult part: I'd like to include in the email the link for the new task and I cannot find the variable I can use in the email text. Like "if task x is assigned to a user send an email to the users email address with the link to x in the email text".I've checked the resources here and couldn't find anything.Can anyone help me with this link/variable?Thank you in advace!

Hello, I am looking to get help automatically updating records. I have an airtable setup that pulls in companies that visit our website from a lead tracking system. I manually select an option to tag the company as "Sales Target, Client, Employee". There are instances where the same company/person will come to the website and show up as a new line item in my airtable.Is there an automation that I can setup that will automatically update the record to match the previous line where I tagged them? Said differently, If I manually tag Apple as a "sales target" in row 7, I'd like to have airtag automatically mark them as a "sales target" when they show up again in row 101.Thank you

I'm having trouble getting past the Update record in an automation:I was able to:- get the trigger to catch a new email in a table (pic #1)- filter out the matching email and corresponding row (pic #2)In the Update action, I used the Airtable record ID from the first step (pic #3). The field of interest I want to import from the donor table, for example, is What year and school did you graduate from (pic #4) but it doesn't work (pic #5) and I also dont see where in the receiving table I can choose where the donor information I want to collect to insert. Thanks so much!

I'm trying to set up an Airtable automation that's not working as expected.Here are the details:Current Setup1. Trigger: When a record matches conditions- Quote_Date_String is not empty- Axonaut_Status is "accepted"2. Action: Find records- Where Quote_ID matches Quote_ID from trigger3. Action: Update record (in a "Repeat for each" loop)- Table: Landing_Table- Update Quote_Date_String fieldError:Getting "Received invalid inputs" when testing the automation, even though the test step shows valid data in the trigger record.Screenshots of the automation and test results are attached.Any help identifying why the update action is failing would be greatly appreciated.Regards,Hugo

I have an automation that is set to run when a record is updated. The problem is that as the user types in one of the fields being monitored, the automation is called with every character entered or deleted. I want it to run when the user is finished editing - maybe when they hit "Enter" or when they click off the field for the record in question. Is there any way to do this? Seems unusable as is?

Hopefully this is an easy ask, but I just can't figure it out.I have my interface as public, showing records in a gallery view. I have automation which emails the user to tell them that their request is live on the dashboard and to provide them a link to it. If I use "Page Record Url" in the email automation, it does create a link, but only for me, ie only logged in people. The only way I can get a public link to that record, is view the record in the interface, open it up, click the chain link to copy the url and use that. That URL is much longer than the other ones and I have no idea how I can pull in that URL in the email automation to give the customer.Here are the links, I've modified them for privacy, but its just to give you a flavour of the difference. Hi all,I have an automations question that I hope someone can help me with.My company provides a programming service for clients. As we process the information received, Airtable sends an automatic email to the client letting them know what information we have and what we still need.When record is updated, send email to client.This is fairly simple and works well, however, we have employees who work at night or over weekends and do not  want emails going out to clients at funny times. Setting up the automation to trigger at a schedule time does not work because then I do not have the option of formatting the email based on specific record conditions. I would love to be able to have something check if it's during regular work hours, if so send the email, and if not, wait until the next regular business day and then send the email.Any advice on how to implement this?

I would like to update a date field in a record, with the last time the automation executed. Is this possible in an automation, in the Update Record Action?If you choose static, you have to enter the field manually. If you choose a dynamic value, you are only allowed to choose from an existing field or data.  

Hi everyone,I've been struggling with counting all records from table A in table, B. I've read multiple forum posts and watched videos, but something is still not working ... so I've come here to ask for any insights. My understanding is that  I need to put all records from Table A into a single linked field in Table B, and then use a Count field to count them.  So I set this up, like in the imageThen, I went to Automations and set up two steps: Step one: look for any records and table that are not empty. (Table A is called "Entries" in my base)Step Two: Add an "update record" where the "Table" is the Table B ("Metrics" for me), Record ID is of where I want all the linked records to show, and under "Fields" I added the linked field, and said to show a "List of Records"...This gives "received invalid inputs"... Ive tried all the variations of this I can think of, which all result in this error.... Can anyone advise me on the solution?  Also, I just wan
