Hello,We are trying to replicate functionality from a system we are phasing out. The function allows the user to view a list of accounts, filter based on fields, and then send an email to the resulting filtered list. I'm wondering if there is a way to do this via the automation builder or scripting. I understand how to do this for a static list of filter parameters, but I want to create an interface (or some other mechanism) to allow users to determine the parameters themselves.Inputs: Users select parameters from a set of drop down fields in an interface or some other UI element (Stacker, make, etc.) (E.g. User role, Department Name, etc.)Process: Automation system parses those user inputs to generate a string of email addresses that matches the criteria from the user input. (E.g. If the user selects "Role = Admin", the system would return the list of email addresses where the user record has a role of Admin)Outputs: The auto
I would appreciate to have any assistance in finding a way to sort a grid of records in an email automation. It is really frustrating this functionality is not available, so need to find a workaround. I have an automation that sends email with 2 grids of records that I need to sort. Without sorting the grids are senseless and useless. I am not familiar with scripting, so any help in that (if it is the only way) will be appreciated and paid.We do not use Integromat or other 3rd party solutions, so need to do it by Airtable instruments only. Thanks in advance.
Hi there, I am somewhat new to Airtable, and need some help. I have built 90% of what I need already however I am stuck with one final challenge. I have created an automation that will send a weekly digest email with all of the logged activities over the past 90 days (calls, emails, meetings etc) that I can share with my clients, specific to their project. The email that is generated (preview) sorts these table records based on the date/time that they were INPUT TO AIRTABLE instead of the date that they actually occurred (sometimes I log activity a few days after the fact). I have created a date field which has the actual meeting times and would have preferred the automated email to sort results based on that date field however I don’t know how to do that. Automation info: Runs every week at Friday 6pm Action 1 : Find records where date is within past 90 days. My table is called “Activity” Find records based on Condition (where date is within the past 90 days) Action 2 : Send email to
I have a list of 100-200 sign-up's on a shared view (that's embedded in my website, so it "should" update), and I want to have a public user "Approve" or "Deny" each sign-up by clicking a field button (see screenshot) that would update one Select Field in the respective row. This process happens only once a year.A simple search on the AT community shows that editable shared views are incredibly popular but not possible. There have even been some creative workarounds (like this from GAP Consulting), but it's too much to ask for someone to open 100-200 forms to update one value for each row. I found this editable shared view workaround, and it got my wheels spinning...Would it be possible to configure a Field Button to open a URL to a corresponding table (possibly a sync'ed or even two-way sync'ed table) and then use automations to return the appropriate value back?In my case, clicking on "Approve" or "Deny" would open a URL to send an updated value to the corresponding table that would
Hello! I've read through other messages and some how-to's and I'm hitting a wall with on automation I have set up. I have an automation set up to track my apartment cleaning tasks. When a record is created in the Cleaning Tracker table [TRIGGER], the automation: 1. finds the records in a different table (Rooms to Clean) to add the new task to where the name contains the same Month and Room/Area as the created record. 2. finds all the records in the Cleaning Tracker that have the same Month and Room/Area as the one just created IF the record doesn't already exist: create a new record in Rooms to Clean IF the record does exist (record length >= 1) update the record with all of the records that have the same Month and Room/Area This automation works great with every room's task EXCEPT for bathroom tasks. Whenever a record with the Room/Area bathroom in it
I'm scratching my head here, if anyone can help!I have an automation to update a record when a linked record is created. For the Record ID in the Update Record step, I'm using a linked field from the previous step, set up as follows:It works perfectly when I run tests, on both preview and run as configured. But in real life, it keeps failing on "Received Invalid Inputs" and when I check, I see the Record ID isn't getting passed through.EDITED TO ADD: I have another automation set up the same way, except the trigger is "When record updated" and it works fine. What am I doing wrong?
We perform record review for the assets we have in our base, around 300 days after the last review date was entered for the asset. These assets are in the LMS Content table, which has linked records back to the Assets table.Rather than have the reviewer go to the the Assets table to update those linked records, I’d like to automate it so some of the linked records get updated with the same new date value. In the Assets table, there are linked records back to the LMS Content table, here I want to update some of those records based on a condition. Here’s a bit more about the desired workflow:I want to update linked records when a value in the Last Review Date field of the LMS Content table changes. For each linked record, from the Assets table where its Asset Type value = “Video”, update its Asset LR Date to the same value just updated in the Last Review Date field of the LMS Content table. Then, for each linked record from the LMS Content table, where the value in the LMS Content fiel
Hi there!Quick question: If a recipient of an automated email from Airtable (sent by Airtable mail server) clicks on the "unsubscribe" link, will his/her email address be "blacklisted" for all automated emails from that Airtable base or is this specific to the automation which has executed the "send email" step?Cheers!
Hi all,I am trying to add info from a linked table (one to many relation) in the body of an e-mail in an automated action. This is my setup:TableA with Fields Name, Age, Status, Email, ...TableB is a collection of dates on which the person in TableA is expected. Fields: Name (from Table A), date, type of meeting)One record in tableA can have multiple lines in TableB.Now I want to be able to send an automated mail that contains the info from TableB (date and linked type of meeting). Is this somehow possible? If yes, can someone please help me how to solve this? Thanks in advance.Kind regards,Kenneth De Vos
I already have an automation using a webhook, that when I add a new record in a certain table, a sign request is created and sent to the relevant email address. What I need to do now is after the document is signed by the recipients, save it as an attachment on the same record.Any idea how it can be done?
Greetings allI have various stock lists from my suppliers all in their own various PDF / CSV format. Each suppliers stock list has its own Product SKU Description. Some suppliers have one document for 'stock' (i.e. quantity), one document for price list (price per product SKU), and one document for 'Special Pricing' (an override of the standard price list).I want to map each suppliers stock and pricing to my unique Product SKU so I can then show the total stock I have available to sell to my customer network and filter the lowest pricing between my suppliers etc. Any suggestions welcome...Thank you!
I could use some help correctly setting up a multiple select field that monitors changes in other fields. For context, this'll be setup for internal use mostly for billing purposes. Once the tagged change(s) in the multiple select field have been resolved, they'll be manually cleared. Scenario: I have a multiple select field called Changelog that monitors changes in other fields in the same table- Contribution Status, Contribution Amount, and Current Donation. Any change in a record associated in a specified group should have their respected outputs reflected in the Changelog field. Issue: I want the Changelog field to populate any and all changes. Sometimes the output looks accurate, other times it does not. In the example screenshots, I changed a record's Contribution Status which resulted in changes to both the Contribution Status and Contribution Amount- correctly reflected in the changelog. However, when making this change, it affects the other records in the group,
Good day team,I currently have a table wherein we have an auto number field as well as an attachment field or excel sheet with our clients personal data. Then the data on the excel template will then be manually transferred to another table. Is there a way or an automation that could also captured the correct auto number field and be seen as well on the other table based on the subjects in the file? For Example:Subject 1 - 1234Subject 2 - 1234Subject 3 - 1235 Thanks
I'm going based on this: https://airtable.com/developers/web/api/create-commentThe authorization is fine, but for some reason within scripting it keeps giving the error that the body isn't parsable. My script is as follows: //Variables let inputConfig = input.config(); let recordID = inputConfig.recordID; let commentContent = "Hello World"; let url = 'https://api.airtable.com/v0/appksePpf16d6MPdp/tbl4ZEftsWgo84Ldu/' + recordID + '/comments'; console.log(commentContent); //Create the Comment let response = await fetch(url, { method: 'POST', headers: { 'Authorization': 'Bearer [private]', 'Content-Type': 'application/json', }, body: { //For some reason, it's not accepting this body 'text': commentContent } }); console.log(await response.text()); //console.log(await response.json()); I've gotten it to work with this exact same data in Spectator, so I'm really puzzled as to why this doesn't work.
Many departments in my workplace heavily rely on automations. Towards the end of month, we sometimes reach a limit of around 30,000 and it's a hassle linking records manually.Earlier I just changed a filter and triggered 17,000 automation runs before I could disable the bad automation, which sends emails when a record is created in a synced view.... It's only the beginning of the month. I'm stressing out. I had optimized and sacrificed many automations; I undid all that work in an instant. What should I do to prevent automations from entirely stopping in two weeks?
I have a simple automation set up to send an email when a record is updated. The email includes a link to a Google doc for that particular record. The automation works most of the time, but I've run into situations where the URL for the Google Doc in Airtable gets modified when it comes through in email. For some reason, the underscores in the link get removed. See arrows in attached screenshot. The top URL is the correct one in Airtable, the bottom URL is what comes through in the email. I have other records in Airtable that also have underscores in the google doc URL and those comes through fine. It just seems to be random docs that this is happening with.Any ideas how to fix?
I am working with make + airtable but when i try to write the date + time in my airtable with the data from make the date applies correctly but not the hour. It always insert 00:00 time. What is wrong here? thanks in advance.
Hi,I add a grid in my email automation.when I insert the grid I want the grid to be Right to left.right now its left to right like here:is it possible to make it Right to left so the supplier will be on the right side? Thanks.
hello - i created a button field that triggers an email via sendgrid integration. while this functionality is possible as a creator/internal user, it is not possible (i.e., button not clickable) when a shared view is generated and viewed as a non-internal user. is there a way to allow non-internal users who view the shared view to click the button to generate the email?
I have three tables - deals, project, and a join table that connects deals and project. The deals table is connected to the project table through a linked field, creating a 1:1 relationship. I am trying to link the join table to the project table based on the linked field in the deals table. I am using the Airtable ID for the linked record from the deals table and inputting it into the "link to project" field in the join table, but I am encountering an error."Error: Field "fldxxxxxxxxx" cannot accept the provided value: invalid item in array cell: foreign record is invalid: foreignTableId is incorrect."I'm getting the correct id for projectID field as I've double checked but still it is not getting linked to the "Link to projects" field. Please do let me know if more detail is required or if anyone has any solution to this?
Hi folks. I’m trying to create a way to allow a member of our team to edit a shared view, and I’ve reached a snag. Here’s what I’ve done so far: Created a synced table in a new database using the data from the shared view Added 3 new columns in the new table for adding information to individual records Created an automation in the new table that makes a new row in a google sheet every time a particular column meets a condition All that works. And here’s where I’m snagged: Creating an automation in the original database that updates the changed record whenever a new row is added to the google sheet - BUT: When I use the Record ID from the new synced table, it doesn’t match the Record ID of the original table, so I get a “record doesn’t exist” error When I use one of the other field values from the new google sheet row to identify the record, I get an “Received invalid inputs” error. SO - how do I get the original base to recognize the equivalent record in the synced base? What’s t
I have an automation that emails a list of people every time a record is created and within that email is a formula field that concatenates a date with several other fields but the problem is in all the emails the date and time is always 7 hours ahead. How do I make it so it sends only in pacific standard time?
I have created automation when the condition matches and assigned to person "A" then it should email person "A"In the same automation, I would like to add another condition whereas if assigned person is "B" then it should email person "B" only. How can I add multiple action in one automation whereas based on each action the email goes to a different person. Please see attached screenshot.
I am currently on the team free trial plan do I need the business plan to email non-collabaorators? I am trying to email every person I have on a table with the same email is there a way to bypass this through other services?
Hello, We have a problem with our automation (see attached). Our client works with her clients with points. We already have an automation that is working > when an entry is updated in table X, create a new enter in table Y.Now, we'd like to automatically, when an entry is updated in table X (points available), that is automatically updated in table Y (for the corresponding line). We tried to change ID, fields, everything and we always have the same error. If someone can help !Thanks 🙂
