Automations

I've read through most of the posts having to do with this and still can't find an answer that works.  Most ask why this would need to be done.  We are currently using Airtable as a mass outreach table for individuals we contract work with.  Occasionally, they retire, die, or are no longer to be put in rotation.  We have the checkmark to indicate they need to be removed from rotation but we also have to update our operations software with these notes and new changes and want a record to track those updates but not available to reach out to.  We already use filters and views and statuses for the dozens of other items we care about and work with.  We might need to put them back in rotation too so I would rather not delete 100% and just move to other table.  I don't know why this seems so hard to do as it seems like a very important function that a lot of people could use the option of.  Would appreciate any advice!

Hello, I am trying to automate the conversion of SVG attachments in PDF format (in another column).So far I got this script but doesn't seem to do the job. Anyone has a solution?

One if the biggest pain points I run into every day with Airtable, is trying to link records automatically.  A {formula field} that needs to feed into {linked field}.  If only there is an easy way to do this, any suggestions? My current solution is running an automation, but it doesn't work sometimes. Is there anyway to generate an automation that updates field records within a table by matching values in a different column, similar to an Index/Match function, between AirTable and Google Sheets? Essentially, my team manages IRB protocols and we need to track due dates for annual reviews. I'm trying to have the due dates updated in AirTable once the annual review due date is scheduled. Due dates are updated arbitrarily by my institution throughout the year, so I was planning to do a manual export from the institutional data source to a google sheet on a regular basis. Then, once the google sheet is updated, I want to run an automation that updates the Due Date for each corresponding IRB Protocol. Is there currently a way to do this only using AirTable & Google Sheets? My institution doesn't allow for 99% of external extensions. 

Hi all, I have run into a problem with an automation where I am copying values from some formula fields into fixed fields. I have narrowed the problem down to 2 different fields that halt the automation. Both the formula field and the fixed field I am copying to are formated as decimal with 2 places (x.00). I know this worked before while I was developing it, but now it fails. The error message shown is “fields could not be converted to a string”. I see 2 questions for this topic in the Community, but I can’t see the solution. This is making my head explode, so I would appreciate any help you can provide.

I have a field that can at times have existing linked records inside them. I have an automation that when a record matches conditions will input a linked record to that same field. The issue I am running in to is that it replaces the existing linked records in there. I tried doing a dynamic input on the automation to include the existing linked records then separating with a comma, but it fails when testing. Any idea how I can keep existing, but add a new linked record in that same field with the automation?

Hi everyone, I'm a beginner at airtable automation (so excuse the novice question) - I'm trying to figure out how to set up an automation to send an email with attachment when a new record is created. Same attachment will be going to all emails. More info: 1. User fills out a form on website with email address. 2. New record is created in Airtable table "Contacts" with the email address3. I think this record then needs to be updated to include the attachment (unsure how to do this) so that it can be attached in the email automationAny help would be greatly appreciated 🙂

Hi, I don’t know whether this is a bug or something has changed - we have calendars on our outlook account - we did this using ‘sync to external calendar’ links. We noticed the calendar events are no longer showing in our outlook - they previously were. I am unsure when this changed. I have deleted and re-added the link and the calendar is still not syncing. Has anyone else had this problem?

I am working on using an Airtable automation to assign topics to writers. Step 1: Trigger Step 2: Find records that meet the right criteria. Step 3: Send an email with values from the found records as a grid. Step 4: Update the records from step 2. I have a single select field “Emailed” that can be true or false. I’d like to update these values to True. Step 4 is where I am having a problem. I do not see the possibility for selecting Record ID’s for the records found in step 2. Is there a workaround to this? We have an airtable/make.com combination running a help desk/ticketing system. When people reply to their initial ticket, the system assigns a new record. Is there an automation that we could install that would combine the records?

For some unknown reason (i.e. I didn't make any adjustments to the recipients) my weekly emails generated from an automation that has been running smoothly for months now, went out in these configurations 1) to me only in the To and CC lines 2) to me with the typical recipients now appearing in the cc line in addition to me. Has anyone else had an issue with this today (late March 7, 2024)?

Hello Community,I am a beginner in air table configuration/Automation and I am looking for help to automate sending emails the every new email added into the Email field of the tab/chart.Like I have a chart with fields in it such as name, company, offer, phone, and Email. What I want is that whenever I add/write a new email address to the Email field, an Automatic email could sent to that email address. this action repeats with the addition of every new email in the field.I tried many ways but could not figure out and got error and not send email as i want. Hi! I'm attempting to have an email going out to remind clients of their appointment time & details the before it happens. For example at 9am on the day of the appointment. I created a formula for "Is this today?" IF(IS_SAME(TODAY(), SET_TIMEZONE({Start Time}, 'America/Anchorage'), 'day'), 'Yes', 'No') The automation for "When a Record Matches Conditions" (When "Is this today?"=Yes) is used so that it creates an individual email for each appointment, rather than one email with all of them.  This fires at a weird time of day (5pm PST) so I'm sure it has something to do with time zones. Hi, I'm trying to make either a script or automation to update Table A from a list of values in Table B.Table A is a list of shifts in multiple clinic locations. I'd like to be able to select a clinic location in Table A (from a single select column), and have the address for that clinic populate in the Address column in the same table. In Table B, I have the list of clinic names with their addresses. I'm trying this script, and it will run, but it doesn't do anything to the Address column in Table A. Any help would be greatly appreciated- new at writing scripts... Thank you in advance!

Real-time automation does not work. I select Trigger: When a record is created, there I select in which table the new row was created. Then I select Actions: Create record and indicate in which table to create a new row. In Fields I indicate in which line to copy the values ​​from which line.When testing automation, everything works fine, new rows appear in the table. However, when creating a new row, a new row is automatically created in the required table, but the data is not transferred.

All of my automations across multiple bases are consistently failing to trigger naturally, even though they work fine when I forcibly "test automation". They also worked fine a few weeks ago. This includes a few different trigger types (buttons, when a field is updated, when a record matches conditions, etc.). I'm losing my mind as AT support is taking ages to help me (one email a day or every other day suggesting things that are clearly not useful if they'd take the time to properly engage with what I've sent) and several processes across the business are failing. Hi, I have been having problems with this for weeks now and cannot understand why my automation is not working. I work for a company that runs an appointment based service. I book the date it  is for and the status of it. When I put in the info, it is defaulted to "Booked". When the day AFTER the appointment comes, I want the system to find all record that match the given criteria (appointment yesterday, status booked) and update it to "Completed" I have tried a million different things but nothing is working.  Here is what my configuration is.. Someone please help me understand what I am doing wrong..
