Hello! Airtable noob here, we are just integrating the software into our company’s workflow. Is there a way to track or view all the times someone has been tagged as a collaborator, across all tables in a base? We currently have one table for projects and a linked table for tasks. I would like to be able to create a view where I can see all the projects AND tasks that I’ve been tagged in. Is this possible? Thanks!
Hi All - I’m stuck and could use a bit of guidance for my project management. I currently have a table with my projects, which is linked to my clients table. Once a project moves from a ‘lead’ to ‘in process’ I want to be able to select a workflow and then the tasks that are specific to each workflow would populate. I have my automations set up and while they are working, something is a bit ‘broken’ and I’m not sure how best to fix. To be a bit more granular, I have: Clients table Projects table Tasks table I’m wondering if it makes sense to have a junction table for the workflow and each workflow’s specific tasks? If so, suggestions on linking everything together? Because here’s where I am running into an issue and not sure how to best approach and fix – Let’s say Project A moves from a ‘lead’ to ‘in process’ and I select Workflow 1. My automation triggers and all of the tasks for Workflow 1 automatically populate. Then I realize that Workflow 2 is actually more appropriate for this
Hello there, how can I define the background color of cover fields (e.g. in Kanban or Gallery view)? I have some records containing a white(-ish) element on a transparent background that is used for the Cover field. As the default background color is white those images are not visible. Thanks in advance! Cheers Christoph
I’m finding unexpected behavior when sorting on a single select data lookup field. In the source table the HT Location is a single lookup field. I have the field values ordered in the “customize field type” control (note Dairy case in in blue before Bakery in green.): In the source table the sort behaves as expected (note Dairy case before Bakery.) The unexpected behavior is in the list table that references the source table. There’s a linked table field, and a lookup on the “HT Locations” field, which is then sorted. Here the order is different, with Bakery coming before Dairy case. I tried making a duplicate of the list table; it duplicated the odd sort behavior. I made a new table, added the same link and lookup fields, and it looked like this table sorts the look up field alphabetically – except for paper supplies – not the order of the look up fields Argh. Ideas?
In my column N+1 I have designed a SEND MESSAGE BUTTON which opens an URL if clicked. This trigger an action on integromat to send an email. The button works like a charm. For safety reason, I want to create a layer of protection so my team will not send an email if by accident they click on the SEND MESSAGE BUTTON. On the column N I want to add a CHECKBOX and IF the checkbox is checked then It allows the user to click on the SEND MESSAGE BUTTON. This way, the user will need first to click the CHECKBOX if they want to send the message and click on the SEND MESSAGE BUTTON to confirm they want to send the message. How can I do this ?
Very new to Airtable and so far quite impressed with ease of use I am trying to set up a system for tracking product movement in a food processing environment. We currently have a “Master Log” which defines every lot that comes in with details on when, from who, where it was stored on receipt, if it was moved prior to processing when and to where, etc. I would like to be able to track the history of each storage silo for audit trail. What I am thinking is to set up a base for each silo and then somehow link the master log to those individual bases so that when something is received and marked as entering “Silo S1” it shows up in the Silo S1 base with quantity and date, when it is later moved from “Silo S1” to “Hopper P1” that shows as a debit from “Silo S1” in that log and a credit in the “Hopper P1” log. When it is processed it shows as a debit from “Hopper P1” and a credit to “Warehouse” I think this would have some things in common with an inventory management system but having th
Hello, Filemaker user here, and I’d love to learn how to re-create some functionality so I can use airtable. This database is for the entertainment industry: Table: Scenes Fields: Starting Script Page Number, Scene Title Example data: 1,Exterior House 30,Interior House 50,Exterior Office Table: Tasks: Fields: To Do, Priority, Script Page Number, Scene Title LINK Example Data: Set Dining Table,High,5 How do I link this tasks to its appropriate scene? Page 5 of the script is in scene 1 because scene 2 starts on page 30. In Google Sheets, Excel, and Filemaker, no extra work is needed, Lookup will return the correct, previous value without “going over” to the next record. Thank you!
I’m developing a simple app to manage my family’s food planning. My current structure is Recipes (e.g., Crockpot Chicken Tacos) that have multiple Ingredients (Chicken, Cream Cheese, Cumin, etc), and Plans that essentially have a date and a recipe associated with it (Tuesday through Thursday is the Crockpot Chicken Tacos recipe). I wanted to add some way to create a shopping list draft by creating a Trip entry referenced in a bunch of Plans, then going through those Plans, getting all Recipes, and then getting all Ingredients associated with the Recipes. I was thinking this could be done with a Rollup using ArrayUnique or something like that on the Ingredients lookup field of the recipes, but I still end up with duplicates. Is there some better way to do this rollup?
Hey all, new airtable user. I am a composer and I’m trying to put together a base that tracks a songs and co-writer percentages. One song might have one or several writers. If it’s more than one writer, I would like to track their percentage. For example, song 1 might have writer A, B, C each with a 33% writer’s share. The pertinent tables I have so far are: Song Table - contains song details and metadata Writer Table - contains information on composer Do I use a junction table for this? I could use a little hand holding if anyone has an answer!
Hi everyone, Can you help me understand what is the proper way to design base, tabs that are maintenance-friendly? So I have a Product table/tab on Airtable. From each product item, I want to create multiple forms based on type e.g. Type-A, Type-B, and then record the form submissions so that it’s easy to manage the submissions. Thanks in advance. Regards, Raihan Kabir
Hi, I’m trying to create a base to record the lead generated through multiple funnels. I’ve 2 tables. Table 1 Table 2 How can I filter the second table according to the dates? Let’s say I just need to see the record from June only. If I filter the dates in Table 1, it would have been great that will reflect in table 2. Something like ‘Dynamic’ Limit record selection to view.
Please Help! I have a table the contains my workers and a variety of information on each of them. They also are linked to projects that they are assigned as such. Worker Project A 1 2 3 B 2 C 2 3 Project is a multiple select column that links to a project table that shows top level detail on each project. I would like to output to a new table that expands each of these records to provide detail on each workers interaction with the specific project as shown below: Worker Project A 1 A 2 A 3 B 2 C 2 C 3 I have attempted to use “create records from multiple select” and junction tables to no avail. I have approximately 500 workers and 200 projects and do not want to create records for every possible occurrence as my data is very sparse. Thanks in advance for your help as I attempt to navigate, Damien
Hi guys, I would like to ask for some advise regarding the “Product ID” column of the Inventory Tracking Template. I understand that each product has its corresponding unique Product ID, is the value of the Product ID column here unique and will always be tied to one specific product you have entered in the Product Name column?
Hi, I want to build an Incident Table that tracks incidents. The key fields include: “Site” - location of incident “Date” - date of incident “Category” - drop down field that allows the user to chose the type of incident i.e., Property Damage, Near Miss, Lost Time, First Aid, etc. I have a second Person Hour table that includes key fields: “Site” - location of incident “Date” - date of incident Person Hours I need to create a statistical table that pulls and summarizes incidents from the Incident Table by year and category i.e 2020 3 Near Misses, 4 First Aids, 0 Lost Time, 3 Property Damages. Also pull the person hours from Person Hour table and record by year against the “Site” I would then create a formula to create a frequency rate for each category of incident. Example (for near misses) (3*200000)/person hours. I created this perfectly in Quickbase, but I cannot figure out how to do this in Airtable. Any thoughts?
Hi! I’m trying to build a pie chart to displays for each product (identified through its EAN in the screen capture) the number of requests for each category (vegan, cruelty free, score). The only thing I managed to do is display the counts for a single category :frowning: Thanks for your help! /Saïd
Thanks in advance for help with this. I am new to Airtable and hoping there is a template to build on for this. I have a dynamic google sheet with a vertical column of locations and subsequent columns of asset counts. What I would like to accomplish is to copy that sheet in as a record each day and archive it like a file card. I can then reference and trend historic data. Is there a sample base or template that I can start with?
Hey guys, I’m not sure what I am doing wrong in setting up the charts in Dashboard. I see two different Date formatting on the X axis in two different charts: one a line chart and the other, a bar chart. They are configured using the same field! The Line chart shows date as set in the Table Column ‘created on’ while the Bar chart ignores any date formatting and shows YYYY-MM-DD format for dates. Is this a bug or am I missing something here?
Hello, I am trying to setup an airtable database that would help us handle our orders and stock efficiently. We sell furniture on shopify, so from shopify we get a CSV with lineitems sales that looks like this (first column is the order number, 2nd column the item name, 3rd the quantity purchased): 1157 // item #1 // 3 1157 // item#2 // 1 1157 // item#3 // 4 1158 // item#2 // 2 … Now our issue is that each of these items sold are actually composed of several physical “objects”. For example a shelf may come with 4 screws and a torx wrench. And we would like to be able to display for each order, exactly a checklist of all physical objects to be put in the package for the customer. So We created a table product items (what can be purchased on our website) and a table physical objects (what the product items are composed of). one item is generally composed of multiple physical objects, and one physical object can be part of multiple items so that would be a many to many relationship. But i
Hey guys I know how to add the template into my workspace but is it possible to add this data within a base as well? (this base has already been created). For example, what I am doing right now is trying to move a template called: team workload planner into the one my current bases for the team without removing any info in our current base. Is this possible? Thanks so much :slightly_smiling_face:
Hey! New on using Airtable and writing on the community. Nice to meet you. I am builiding a database for a ‘football fantasy’ type game, a game where people can bet on different real games. Right now I am settling my app like this. Players: Name Country Events (list of events attending) — Field linked to Events table Events: Name Date Bet number 1 (checkbox) Bet number 1 name Bet number 1 points Participants of the bet (list of players attending to the event and different options for the bet) — Field linked to Players table Bets ID Record date Bet number 1 options (multiple select field linked to the last field of the Events) — How can I set up this field? I don’t know how can I do it There’s a way to do it? Thanks!
I want to send an email template based on changing an input on the table BUT I want to be able to view the email before send. E.g. Select Email Template 3 > View Email (make edits if need be) > Send Email. I can set it up so the email is sent when selecting Email Template 3 with pre-populated fields but I want to have a quick scan of it before being sent to make sure the correct info is on it and I haven’t made a mistake with this user. Any ideas on how this could be accomplished? Thanks!
Hello I would like to ask how to best setup the airtable base for the following use case: Our business is an evaluation platform, where the client weights the importance of about 100 questions/features, and about 10 vendors would submit their answers based on how their product covers the questions/features. We could therefore have as a result the clients target profiling, and the various vendors available profiling. Each answer would be weighted to points, which then can be scored. I am wondering if those 100 questions should be fields of a same record, or rather 100 seperate records… basically horizontal vs. Vertical design. The important point is that the client and vendors would need to have a form to submit their answers. Best case, we could have 80% of the vendor’s input pre-filled from previous RFP answers, so their input process would be optimized. I intend to have a user interface and portal by Stacker, and the forms by typeform. Anyone have some thought on the fundamental desi
Hi, I wanted to figure out the best way to tackle my specific situation. I’m pretty sure it’s a fairly commonplace problem, so I’m sure there must be a solution that already exists for it, only I can’t seem to figure out the exact configuration I need. I’m setting up a base for a friend who runs an interior design studio. In this base are the following tables: Clients: All her clients and their info Projects: All the projects the studio takes on. This table contains a linked record to ‘Clients’ so that you can see which project is linked to which client. Vendors: All vendors the studio works with Product Catalogue: This table contains records for every product (furniture, wallpaper, soft furnishings, flooring/tiles, lights, sanitaryware, appliances, etc). This table contains a linked record to ‘Vendors’ so that you can see which product comes from which vendor. This table also contains fields for size, unit price, image, etc for each product. Now I need to be able to assign spec
Hello there! I have a last modified time column that watches updates over 20 different columns. Is there a way to catch somewhere the name of the column that has last triggered a last modified time update? If any external tool is needed to get this info, I’m in too (I’ve already got subs @ Zapier, Integromat & Mini Extensions). Thanks!
Hey Guys! Is there a way to do a unique setting for linked records. I only see ways to filter by empty/not empty and Contains/does not contain. I want to say, link to this field, unless value is already present. This will avoid duplicates in my linked field.
