Example: Table 1(via Column 1) is linked to Table 2 (via Column 1). Table 2 Column 2 is Single Line field with a “DEFAULT text”. New record is added in Table 2. Column 1 in Table 2 is auto-populated. The expected behaviour would be the Field 2 in Table 2 will get automatically pre-filled with DEFAULT text. However, that’s now happening. Field 2 is not auto-populated, it stays blank. Manually adding another record to Table 2 will of course trigger pre-filling text in Column 2 as expected. It’s just the text is not pre-filled when the record is added through the linked Table 1. I just want to share this but it’s not a big deal though because it can be resolved by using a formula field instead with “…text…” as the formula.
HI Guys I have a dog walking business and have customer contracts and also pet information sheets. These sheets are like a form. So was wondering if I can link them all together through Airtable so that I can send out the forms as an online form to be filled in. Also when i receive them back I can have different tables all linked in i.e. Vet information, type of dog food,. This way I have an email list to send out newsletters and also do tables for various things. TIA Ben
Hello, I have somewhat complex workbook that I setup a couple years ago. I need help making an important adjustment. I have an “Input tab” where I link every line item (“Occurrence”) with a “Reference Entity” on another tab. I am using the lookup function to combine all Occurrences that link to a given Reference Entity. This way I can see all the information I have about that Reference Entity in one cell (the “Rollup Cell”). New Occurences appear in the Rollup Cell in chronological order. (whenever I add new occurance it is the last text to show up in Rollup Cell. However, the amount of data in the rollup cell is getting very large (can be 50-75 pages of text in some of them). So to see the most recent addition to the cell I need to scroll all the way to the bottom of the Rollup cell. This is very cumbersome. MY QUESTION: HOW CAN I CHANGE THE LOOKUP FUNCTION SO THAT NEW OCCURRENCES ARE ADDED IN REVERSE CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER (newest entries are at the top of Rollup cell)??? PLEASE PLEASE
Hey everyone! New here…Hope my question makes sense! I’ve created a table to track my book sales and royalties. It works super great! However, I’d like to link a TOTAL ROYALTIES table to the SUM of every month’s royalties, but I can’t figure out how to do that. A book’s table has columns for month, downloads and royalties by type (ebook, print, audiobook, etc.) and total monthly royalties (which is calculated using a formula). The summary bar for the monthly royalties shows the number I’d like to see in the Total Royalties Table, where I’d like to see ALL my books and all their earnings. IS there a way to pull the data from the summary bar into another table? OR is there a way to see the summary bar info on a card in gallery view? Thanks so much for any help you can offer! ali P.S. It looks like I might be able to do what I need with a Pivot Table, but I don’t want to pay the $20/month - it’s just a lot more functionality than I need. I’d rather find a workaround, if possible. :stuck_
This question was asked, answered and closed earlier. I’m new to Airtable and I want to create a pull down with several options. How do i do this?
I have a form where people enter the name of an item and its current market price. This then populates a table that I use to do further market analysis. The problem is that people may have to submit this form up to 50 times in a single sitting and having to submit, click to reset the form, and submit again is really tedious. Is there a way I can just have them add multiple “rows” to a form and submit all of their data at once? This seems like an obvious feature to me but I don’t see any way to do it.
I am looking to show the most recent status update for each step. My table includes: Objectives Steps (Individual steps within the objectives) Team Members Status Reports (form for the team members to submit updates for each steps) A few questions: Should I create some sort of a filter/automation within the Status Report table to show the most recent status per step? Do I need another table (something like “Most Recent Updates”) that pulls from Status reports and somehow only shows the most recent step? Can I show the most recent updates right in the Steps table? (This is what I’d prefer, but i’m not sure what fields I would need to add / filter / sort by to make that happen)
Wondering if anybody knows… (I could try this to see what happens but AirTable is bit slow calculating the space used, can’t see the change to size of database right away…) Example 1: Have Table 1 with record A,B,C with image/documents attached. I’ll create a second different table Table 2 with records X,Y,Z and I will upload in the Table 2 the same images/documents that are already attached in Table 1. Example 2: Have Table 1 with record A,B,C with images attached. I’ll create a second different table with records X,Y,Z and I will use the same images attached I have already attached in Table 1. I will copy past the images from Table 1 to Table 2 Example 3: Have Table 1 with record A,B,C with images attached. I’ll create a second different table with LINKED records X,Y,Z and I by using lookup function I will show the same images in Table 2 I have already attached in Table 1. Question is - will either of these examples lead to doubling of the base size (since it’s exactly same image/doc
I’ve scoured the forums and docs for a solution to this for the past couple days, but am still struggling to determine if and how it’s possible, plus how much manual work or custom scripting it requires. Situation I have three separate tables, two of which are imported CSVs. They have totally different columns, but each has a column labeled email, EMAIL, or Email with an email. I want to create a master table that uses the email as a unique ID and pulls in data from the three source tables. I’d like to update the two tables using CSV imports periodically and have the master table reflect any changes to existing records. In addition, I want to automatically create new rows when an email appears in a source table that isn’t already in the master table. Progress I’ve set up Zaps to automatically create a new row in the master table for new emails when the two CSV import tables change. At this point, I have a master table with all the emails imported successfully from the 3 source tables.
I’m Trying to create a table to manage available Rooms so customers can schedule dates they want to come get our services only if there is a room available for them, the solution is for a small hotel that would like to manage their reservations using this platform, so they can provide customers with a link so the customer can schedule, is there a way to do this?
Hi, I’m new to Airtable and just starting to figure it out. I feel like there must be a way to do what I want to do, but I can’t figure it out. I have one table with a list of items. I have a second table with a list of tasks that need to get done. Each task is linked to a specific item- so on my Tasks table there is a column for Item that shows me which Item the task is linked to. Each Item is linked to multiple tasks. Each task has a column with a checkbox for ‘Complete’ I need a way to set it so that if all tasks linked to a specific item are marked as complete, the item itself gets marked as complete somehow, so I can filter it out of the main view of items. The item can get marked as complete with either a checkbox field or single select dropdown field or whatever kind of field will work. Can anyone help me figure this out? Thank you!
Hi, I need a social distance tool/software that can integrate with MS Outlook & Office 365. It should have a tracking system and easy to use analytic dashboard where I can check all the reports and all the attendance at one place. I have got a demo from a similar one known as DeskFlex and it looks affective but need advice from some members familiarised with such kind of software. Besides DeskFlex if you have any suggestions I will be glad to read.
Hi! I am giving Airtable a whirl and I’d love some ideas around designing the base structure of the table. The process is for taking an order for Fibre Internet on our website, which involves capturing a customers details, however, then taking that order through several checks, steps, delivery to ultimately making a customer “live”. Each customer becomes a single entry. Some Fibre services have multiple points of contact. For example, someone might sign up but their housemate might need to contact us for help on the service (account). Getting the primary point of contact details is straight forward and the fields are limited. e.g. name, email, contact number, desired contact channel (e.g. whatsapp/email/telegram). I’d like to avoid having a situation where we have an unknown number of extra columns for secondary (or even more) points of contact. I see on Monday.com you can add secondary point of contacts pretty easily. Was wondering what options there are in AirTable.
I have a client who is having folks apply to submit products for an online store. The applications are entered automatically from a Jotform integration into the “Sellers” table. The Sellers then begin submitting products through another Jotform. I do not want them having access to the other sellers data, or picking something incorrectly, so I have them enter their email address again and that is entered into the “Products” table. Is there any way to automate linking the Product to the Seller using their email address? When I try to use a lookup field its only showing me a separate “linked” fields as an option, and I can’t look up the email field. Thank you in advance. Open to reworking this as well of course if someone has more elegant ideas.
I am so sorry if this is the most insane question…I am still VERY new and trying to get my bases/tables designed to work for my business as a bridal designer. I need inventory, then projects that pull from inventory as well as customers that may pull from both. Also hoping for social media tracking, etc. I am still trying to work it all out in my head…but what is the purpose of the “form” I do not plan on, at the moment at least, having anyone else use my database. I have looked at the info on it here and still a bit ??? Would it be used as a faster way to input say client info or should I just forget it is there being the sole person using this? So sorry for the long question. Madicyn
Hey guys, So the application I’m trying to build needs to render HTML code. In specific, I have email content that is being sent into the base and I need the Email’s HTML to be rendered in order to view the mail in its true essence. I have tried using a rich text field but it does not render the code. I’m looking to build a mobile app for newsletters that I’ve registered to with Airtable as my dB. Any way to accomplish this?
Is it possible to use a wild card search when you make a selection from a linked record list? e.g. search on a field which is shown but not the primary field in that list?
Hi, I would like to have only unique values (email) in my Primary Field. So If users will try to add an already (in the table) existing email, they should not be able to save the record (line). Is it possible?
I have one table of bugs for Software A. Software B, with its own table of bugs, depends on software A to some small extent. Sometimes bug blockers for Software B are in the Software B table, but sometimes they’re in Software A. I need a field which can accept either. Is this possible? It seems a field can only link to records in one table, not many. But this can’t be true, can it? It’s a pretty basic function. I am aware that the preferred way to deal with this is to contain all these entries within one table and use views to differentiate, but it really doesn’t make sense in this case. In fact, these softwares are so different that I had them in separate bases, until I realised that there was no way to access the data (prior to sync) from one base in another. These records also have very different fields, so if I were to represent them in one table, I’d have extraneous fields for all the records.
Hello there! This is my first post ever here, so I’m excited to start contributing and hopefully get some advice! I’ve been browsing the community for similar topics but couldn’t find anything similar so far. Here’s a bit of context to begin with :slightly_smiling_face: I buy pantry items from an online store once a month. For me it can be a pain in the neck to find items I’ve already bought and liked, save items I’ll want to try and shop later, all the while making sure they’re the right price and format, and that I’m ordering them in the right quantities based on the stock I currently have at home. So I created a base to keep track of my current stock, what I bought in the past and how I liked it, the goal being to ease the decision process and spend less time browsing the store’s website and comparing items. Now in my base, I have quite a lot of tables, but the following 3 are those most relevant to my question: Products on the market: actual products I can buy from the online st
"how do I sum the values of a linked record that came from a Form submission from another table in the same Base - (in this case, its a Count from 2 separate Plant-out recordings, but I want these 2 records to add up so that the total value, 13, can be subtracted from the Nursery inventory) and is it necessary to create a Nursery (main inventory database) AND a Nursery Outflow table? I basically want recording of Planting-Outs from Nursery to Field to be super simple for my team - they should just fill out a simple form of what, when, and where they planted, and then have their response flow back to the Nursery database. Similarly, when seedlings Enter the Nursery, they can fill in a inflow form that updates the Nursery database. Any suggestions on keeping it simple when each batch of seedlings (say 50 Limes will be planted out in 5 batches, and therefore 5 recordings)?
Dear “Airtable” community, how should I interpret the maximum 1200 registrations for free accounts? If I have a database with 3 tables and none of them exceed 1200 records, is it okay? o The sum of the records in each table must not exceed 1200 records? From already thank you very much!!!
I’m creating a base for managing contacts and people and am torn between creating a table for companies and another table for People or whether to put Companies and People on the same table. Here are what I see as the advantages of putting Companies and People on the same table. The Companies and People share many of the same fields (name, address, phone, email) and so there are efficiencies to having both on the same table. You can also do links to the same table so you can show a linked “Works for” field if you want to track what people are associated with the Companies in the table. Lastly, if you have another table that needs to reference contact info from either People or Company, referencing a single table seems much cleaner than have a separate reference field for each table and then another that tries to parse each field column to figure out which value to take. When I look at other CRMs, I often see People and Companies as different tables. Can someone articulate a good ans
Hi there, excuse my ignorance! I am very new to Airtable and I am trying to set up a simple inventory system of moving hundreds of items (Props for a film) from one location to another. I have fields set up for the various locations as a checkbox. ie. “PROPS STORE 1”, “PROPS STORE 2” etc… If I move a prop from “PROPS STORE 1” to “PROPS STORE 2” - is it possible for the “PROPS STORE 1” box to automatically UN-check? Basically, I am trying to make it so that only ONE of the check boxes can be checked at any one time. So it is not possible to have an item in two places if a crew member forgets to uncheck a location box. By default the system will only allow you to choose one check box. Many thanks for any advice!
I have a table with about 1000 rows of contact leads from 35 websites, and want to somehow show which websites had no (or the least number of) leads in the last month. I’ve tried Rollup fields and Lookup fields in another table, different views and blocks and read community posts 2 days straight, but i’m not getting anywhere. I’m kind of fumbling in the dark. Hoping the community can lend a hand. The resulting view should give an overview of which websites I need to focus on to boost leads. How do i go about this? I’m happy to put in the reading time and work if you can post a link with an explanation or such. /Vibus
