Hello! I’m using Airtable for my small nonprofit art school. The recent many to many tutorial has been helpful, but in building a database to house student registrations - I’ve hit a roadblock. I’m following the clients to manufacturers example. I’ve built my table to be exactly the same (but with different purposes, so students, transactions, registrations, classes, departments). I’d like to build an automation from our Squarespace website so that the base populates as registrations arrive. Can anyone answer, in the Client to Manufacturer example in the tutorial - where does the information enter? Is it through the junction table? Thanks so much!
Hi, I have tables that are linked that way (I shall make it simple) : Contacts - with fields : Contact Name / email Missions - with fields : Mission Name / Contact Name (lookup from table Contact) Invoice - with fields : Mission / Contact name (directly from the lookup in table Mission) / Contact email My difficulty is in the table Invoice : I would like to have the “Contact email” coming up directly when I select the Mission, How can I do that ? Thank you, Delphine
I think I have it figured out and would appreciate some feedback on how I’m handling it. My “mud” recipe below needs to be broken into separate lines, like: Mud blue parts. . . . . . 50 Mud red parts. . . . . . . 20 Mud yellow parts. . . . . 30 Then I can use formulas to get what I need. This quote plus a good night’s sleep helped: Multi-record calculations (c.f. 'running balance,' 'row number,' and the like) This is a recurring issue for users who conflate Airtable’s spreadsheet-like appearance with presumed spreadsheet-like functionality Fortunately I’m not trying to do any multi-record calculations. Thanks, @W_Vann_Hall Hi - I dye fabric. I’m trying to get the right links to the right fields and have created a hot mess. I’m attaching the hand-drawn schema. One correction: Order lines: “belongs to” links to customer orders. To translate, black lines are links, double 00 indicates lookup. Specifically: The recipe called Mud = 50 parts blue, 30 parts yellow, 20 parts red. Ri
Hi - wondering if there is a more efficient way to track order status for individual items on a BOM. I have set up one table that tracks the current status/timeline of built to order bicycles and another table that lists all the components on the order (BOM). The BOM table contains the part description, vendor, expected arrival date etc and is connected to the order tracking table through a lookup. I have a formula looking at the individual BOM ETA’s to calculate the ETA for the build. I also have views that group the inbound parts by vendor so that our receiving person can sort through the various parts in a shipment and connect them with the respective projects. Order Tracking Table: Order #1 Order #2 … Order #X Parts Tracking Table / BOM: Order#1: Part#1 description | Part #1 Vendor | Part#1 ETA Order#1: Part#2 description | Part #2 Vendor | Part#2 ETA … Order#1: Part#Y description | Part #Y Vendor | Part#Y ETA Order#2: Part#1 description | Part #1 Vendor | Part#1 ETA Orde
Hi! I’ve been wrapping my head around this problem for a few weeks already with no solution, so I thought I could try to get some help from you here :slightly_smiling_face: Here’s my problem: I have two tables: Videos and Tags. Every video can have multiple tags, thus linking the records from the two tables. On Videos I have 2 views: one is “All”, where I have all videos users submitted, and the other is “Filtered”, where I apply some filters to determine what are the videos I want to show on my app - for example, I only show videos with ratings above 4 stars. On the Tags table I’d like to calculate some metrics on number of videos from each tag, but ONLY considering the “Filtered” videos, NOT all of them. I thought the Limit record selection to a view would do the trick, it really seemed to. However in this Community I found out it doesn’t filter dynamically the linked records, but only the options to be shown on an eventual dropdown in a Form. Does anyone have any idea on how to
Hello everyone. First sorry for my english, i’m French. I am trying to do a Room Reservation template with place management on AirTable. We are a team and we have three places to work. Because of covid, each room is limited to a number of places. Each room has different sort of workplace. The goal is for each collaborator to book a room for an half day. With the help of the following informations : For the chosen date (half day) and a chosen room, how many available places there are in this room ? For the chosen date (half day) and a room, which type of workplace are available ? For the chosen date (half day) and a room, possibility to chose the type of workplace to book to finalize the reservation For the moment, i have : A table for the rooms and their informations : Name, Number of places, Number of each type of workplace A table where enter a reservation : -Informations filled out by the collaborator who wants to book : Date, am or pm, Collaborator -Informations automat
Hello! I’m looking for help with structuring a base that will be used to drive our product roadmap. In essence, there are three parts, features, sprints, and team members. What I would like to base to do is help schedule the roadmap using sprint start and end dates and ensure that each team member is properly allocated. Here is the current google sheet that I am using to accomplish this: https://bit.ly/31ZY1TP The sheet is fantastic on resourcing, but not so much with lining up with sprint start and end dates. Each feature can be assigned to many sprints (ex. Feature 1 belongs to sprint 01, 02, and 03). Each feature may have one or more engineers assigned to it and an engineer can only work on one feature at a time. Each sprint may have many features assigned as well as many engineers assigned. I’d like the base to show me which engineer needs an assignment for a particular sprint and ensure that an engineer is not overloaded with two or more features for a sprint.
I have a table called “Time Assignments” Project Name (Linked field to Project table) Month Revenue Example records: Acme Shop, August 2020, $1500 Acme Shop, August 2020, $1200 Joe Smoe, August 2020, $750 Joe Smoe, August 2020, $750 Joe Smoe, August 2020, $1150 Crystal Palace, August 2020, $500 Acme Shop, September 2020, $1500 Acme Shop, September 2020, $1200 Joe Smoe, September 2020, $1150 Crystal Palace, September 2020, $500 I want to sum the total revenue by Customer Name and Month in another table (Calc). So I want to see… Acme Shop, August 2020, $2700 Acme Shop, September 2020, $2700 Joe Smoe, August 2020, $2650 Joe Smoe, September 2020, $1150 Crystal Palace, August 2020, $500 Crystal Palace, September 2020, $500 Any ideas?
I have a base to coordinate internally the progress of construction projects within our company, Here is how i have it set up My base consists of multiple tables, here’s a few of them Table 1 is a list of projects Table 2 is part 1 of the construction process which has multiple phases Table 3 is part 2 of the process Table 4 Track the bidding process Table 5 Tracks the billing progress in Table 2,3,4,5 the main column is a formula which copies the date from column 2 which is a linked column to the projects table Every time a new project gets added to the Project list, i need to create a new record in the other tables so our team can start adding data and track the project, so far i’m doing this manually and i’m looking for a way to automate the process.
I have been massaging data in one base. I thought I had done it right, but now find that I missed something. I want to compare the original base version with the bad one to identify my errors.
Hi! I’m trying to set up a base to collect information from students from my online course. For this I’m doing various Tables with different questions that need to be answered in different moments of the course (I’m using the form feature). For this matter I need to connect the answers they give to their respective personal information, which I ask for in the first Table. The problem I have is that I cannot ask them for their names in every form because it would be annoying, so I decided to generate a token with autonumber which I’ll ask at the beginning of each form, hoping to use this as the indicator of who’s anwering the form. I want the table to read the token and connect it with the student’s name in the first table automatically. I’m not sure it is the best way to do it neither but it’s the best one I could come up with. Extra: It would be amazing if I could make Airtable autopopulate a text document (maybe word or google docs) collecting all the answers given by each one of my
I work for a scene shop and we build for big clients: cruise ships, museums, theaters etc. Goal: I want to be able to view every job that’s in a department at any given time. I want to know everything that’s in the paint shop, from the fake brick panels for the cruise ship to the statue pedestal for the museum. Problem: I’ve got each client set up with their own tab. From what I’ve read this is an undesireable form of physical data organization rather than logic organization, why not have a column with a single select ‘client’ option, and create a view from that, right? My problem with that is that I have one tab with about 5000 records and about 100 different views that i’ll have to scroll through to find the data I need. ‘Client A, Show 2, Drawings In Progress’ ‘Client A, Show 2, Drawings Approved’, ‘Client X, Welding’ ‘Client X, Paint’. Tabs are an amazing way to break this down into multiple chunks of info, but I want to be able to click the “Everything from all the jobs that
Hi, I’m looking for someone to help me think through and offer input on my base design. In exchange, I’d be happy to do the same with yours. Mutual help. Alternatively, this is what you do for a living and you’re interested in taking on this project, please send me a PM with your fee and your experience and I’ll see if I can make that happen. I’ve drawn up some diagrams of my base design, both how my base is currently configured and also how the information is actually organized IR, to facilitate this process.
Hi! I’m currently adapting Airtable to be used as a project management and self-evaluation base for the team in my office. We’re also looking for apps to make meetings more productive (showing important talking points, register tasks for later) what do you recommend for a design like this on Airtable?
Is it possible to present the number formatted by grouping the thousand, like “100,000”. It just displays “100000”. Excel gives an option: “Use 1000 Separator (,)” This is found in cell format, under # format.
I’m attempting to use the Rollup feature for the first time, and it isn’t working as expected. I have a very simple design – A campaign table that will display rolled-up data from an Invoice table. Campaign Table: Here are the settings for one of my Rollup fields: Invoice Table: I want the rows of the Invoice table to aggregate based on Campaign ID/Record ID. Unfortunately, you can see that it is only linking one of the invoice rows – not both of the qualifying Campaign IDs. What am I doing wrong?
I assume this question will be too dumb but just out of curiosity I am interested in knowing what changes this toggling will make to Zapier while sending data to Airtable? I have 3 values to be sent to airtable via zapier If i insert them as 123,456,789 in zap field, will this all be added into one record if we toggle this on? And if we toggle this off will the data will be sent to three different records? Is that what is intended with this? Thanks in advance🙏
Hi everyone! I’ve already created a couple of Airtable bases for client & inventory management, but I’ve been grappling with a specific use case that I’m struggling to figure out the best setup for. I’d like a base that is primarily for keeping a list of a writer’s scripts on offer. Within the scripts table, we’ll have fields to categorize by script type, audience, content tags, etc. Another table will have a list of performers, and (I think??) the 3rd table would have a list of performances (or script fills). Where I’m getting caught up is on the simplest way to display all performances of a particular script, and a link to each performance. So, each script can be filled by multiple performers. Each performer can also have filled multiple scripts / created performances. I’ve set up the 3 tables; the Performers table contains all the performers and then links to the Performances/Fills table. Then I have a lookup field in the “Scripts” table that pulls the list of fills for each scr
Hello Community! My name is Federico. I have this issue: I am using Airtable as the Sales CRM of my company. I have 2 tables: Products Sales Orders I have the link from sales orders to Products so i can calculate to all the Sales Orders the price of that order. I am facing the problem that i live in Argentina and now we have to change prices like 1 time a month and all the previous Sales Order within this link with the products update the value of that Sales Order. How can I isolate that price so when i change the product price, that sales order price is not modified? I will be waiting for help! Thank you!
Hi Everyone, Is there a way that I can have multiple select checkboxes, I read through the community and I guess there is isn’t and people are using a formula as a workaround. However, I can’t figure a formula works on my case: I have 1 table with 3 different views, let’s say View1 “Stage1”, View2 “Stage2” , View 3 “Stage3” View 1 has a multi check field “Move to Stage2”, by defaults records in stage 1 is considered “Stage1” View 2 has 2 multi check field “Move to stage 3” and “Back to stage 1” and View 3 has “Move to stage 2” So they are Stage1 “Default” Move to stage2 Move to Stage 3 Back to stage 1 So, I want when the checkbox “Move to stage 2 “, “Back to stage2” ticked and Not Back to stage1 , nor default stage1 nor move to stage 3 gives me “Stage2” The checkbox “Move to stage 3” ticked gives me “Stage 3” not ticked Stage1 nor move to stage 2 nor the default stage 1 The checkbox " Back to Stage 1” or “Stage 1” ticked gives me Stage 1, and not ticked " Move to Stage 2” nor “Back
I am sure this is easy, but I can’t figure it out on my own. I’d very much appreciate if some could point me in the right direction. I have 3 fields: {WRITER 1} {WRITER 2} {WRITER 3} I am looking for a formula to combine them into one field. The names should be separated by commas in the new combined field. I can do the above easily, BUT: The fields are not always filled. Sometimes only one of them is filled, sometimes all 3. So I need IF statments in combination with =BLANK() I can do it for WRITER 1 and 2, but I can’t get the 3rd one in… Thank you in advance! I am lost.
Hello! I’m new to Airtable but not databases overall so I have a little bit of knowledge in how to write a formula. I can’t seem to work through this one though. I have the need to be able to recall certain clients for scheduled services. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to write this formula. I need the formula to calculate off the “Scheduled Date” forward 275 days but only when the “status” is not marked as “complete”. I have no earthly idea how to make this work. Thank you all very much for your help on this - I’m sure it’s pretty basic and I am overthinking but…I’ll learn it all someday!
Hi there, Myself and @shravan_chandrashekh are working on logging AWS data for our clients and inferring some insights. We are currently adding one row for each log. We are using EC2 to parse and add the data. Almost immediately we have maxed out the row limits though. There’s very little data per row, just product links, date and time. We want to be able to show usage over time for our clients for multiple items so we are curious how to efficiently design our table in order to do so. We could add one row per day, but then I’m unsure how to populate each item with the date and time in which it was accessed? This will eventually end up in a private page/link for the clients to view so ideally they can filter by date, product, category etc. Any help is much appreciated, Allen
It is valid just for me or the server is down?
I manage an online game company and players submit bookings through an Acuity widget on our website. Zapier monitors those Acuity event creations and pushes the records into an AirTable database. Players have a window of time in which they can reschedule their session (or I can reschedule their game upon request), but I’m having a problem getting Zapier’s feature to “Find Record” in Acuity Scheduling to find the old record and update AirTable accordingly. AirTable has the following fields (all populated by Zapier): “Game Date/Time” (formatted as Date) Not unique because I have several staff who can run games simultaneously. “Date Booked” (formatted as Date, populated by Acuity’s “Datetime Created:” field in YYYY-MM-DDTHH:mm:ss-0000 format) Not truly unique, but it will be very rare to have two game bookings come in at the same second, and even more rare to have two rebookings come in at the same second. I’m willing to use this as a unique record for the purpose of “Find Record”. “Titl
