Base Design

I am working on a research project and trying to find a better way to view my data as I’m entering it. It will be done in stages so it’s not really like a form, I need to view all the previously entered data as I am researching and entering the new findings. Entering it into the spreadsheet table is not really working well, I am hoping to avoid scrolling around trying to see all the data.Any help or suggestions would be appreciated…

Hi, I have single select that contains several names similar to some of the names of the tables. I have linked them to the page with single select. I want it to automatically add the fields in the main page record to the page that has the name that they have chosen. How is that? Hello all, I’m new to the community and have been finding so many valuable resources here - thank you! I did some research on this question but wasn’t able to quite find the solution. Here is the basic layout of the two tables in question: RIGS table // Shows all our available inventory Rig 01 Rig 02 Rig 03 etc EVENTS table // Shows event details including which pieces of Inventory are assigned to which Event Event 1 - Rig 01 Event 2 - Rig 02, Rig 03 etc Objective: As Inventory is assigned in the EVENTS table, I want to remove the assigned Inventory from the RIGS table dynamically. I can make this happen per field, however it doesn’t translate to all records globally. Thank you so much for your help in advance! Joanna

Hi Community, as a brand new user of Airtable, my question is more general in nature and related to how to set up a project. I am creating a startup accelerator program and would like to use Airtable to manage the process of creating application forms, and evaluating candidates (with the help of a number of evaluators/judges). This is where I am so far: I have created a new base called Startups I have created an application form with all the relevant fields for the information I need from startups. The next steps are where I have some doubts Should I create fields for the evaluators within the same form as the startup application or create a new separate evaluation form and link it to the startup? Ideally, I would like the evaluator to score applicants within the same form but allow for each evaluator to start with a blank field (ie not see the other evaluators answers, to avoid bias). Hi Community. So far i have Set up an Item List where i can seach the sku number and another where i can search by name, thats fine. So when i enter via form the data for the costumer where it should be send i have just 1 problem, what can i do when i have 1 of these items twice or more ? How can i add quantities to these without letting the sku’s explode ? Thanks in Advance Edit1: Line Item’s won’t work in that case

I have a database for a portfolio of commercial real estate property that I manage. There are multiple tables for the varying information we wanted to capture about the buildings. Now we want to run a report that pulls all of the data for any one of the given properties. Can anyone give me advice on how to do this? Thanks.

Here is what I want to do… We are using Airtable for a survey that can be answered anonymously. Many people may wish to do this at first and therefore not put their emails in initially. However, later we ask if they want to receive information about services, so we would then need their email. For now, I have the description state that they need to provide us with an email if they answer yes. Is there a way to have the email field pop back up? In other words, I don’t want to have two email fields, I want it to link to the same field.

I manage online content for items sold at retail. I have a record for each UPC (item). Every UPC will have updates done 1x a month. I have a checkbox field that indicates when the item has been updated on the retailer’s website. I would like to have a NEW record created automatically, once the checkmark box is selected. This new record should have some of the values prepopulated based off of the original record. Each record has a date for “update due”, which is 30 days from the last update. Ultimately, in a year, I would have 12 records for one UPC, each with the original content changes in their respective fields. Just not sure how to have the system automatically create a new record. Haven’t had luck with scripting block (am admittedly a newby), and zapier only offers me the option of creating a new record when another new record is created. With hundreds of UPCs to update monthly, automating this would be a HUGE time saver!

Hey I am trying to create a base to track our 3 week class program. I wanted to do a table for each Week to mark who registered and then have a date that they completed that class. Then I was hoping to have a 4th Table of only the ones that completed all 3 weeks. I can’t seem to get the linked records to work the way I need them to. Any suggestions? Thanks,

Hello everyone. I am trying to build a somewhat complex base. I thought I had figured it all out, but I can’t get the last part together, so I would like some help please. First, I have (1) projects. Projects are created by (2) acts, which assign (3) people to the (4) group working on each of them. But an act can also do other things (extending deadlines, changing its type, etc.), which are all covered already maybe except for one that seems tricky for what I still need to solve: an act can replace people in the group or simply add more people to it. So I have the following tables: Projects Acts People Groups The (2) acts table has the following columns: A) [Single line text] Act ID B) [Date] Act’s date

Hi all! I am trying to batch update 500 records in a linked column with a new “tag” if you will, but I don’t want previous “tags” or content in that linked column to be overwritten. Example, I have hundreds of email addresses and a linked Emails Sent column. Is there a way to add a new “tag” or email to that Emails Sent column without overwriting previous links that are currently in that column?

I would like to have one column where its listed projects with different types, examples…roofing, solar, construction but on that tab I would like to list the ones that apply to that specific account. In having multiple selections I would like them to be individually linked to different tabs that I have created for each project. It only allows me to link one thing per column? I can’t have multiples tags in one category to open different links?

Is there a way for employees to record their hours for a particular project/job through a link or webpage?

Hi everyone - maybe this is simple and I am just not getting it, but I could use a little advice. Table 1 - has name/email address/other data related to user engagement in a learning platform Table 2 - Workday pull that shows their business unit, ID, location, etc What I am looking to do is take data from Table 2 and link it to a user in Table 1 so it shows their engagement with the platform as well as their business unit information so I can then filter and look at which business unit is the most engaged. Both tables have an email field, so I figured that would be the easiest to match, but for the life of me I cannot get it to match up. Can AirTable auto-match across sheets and load up the data, or do I have to pull the record manually by doing a Link on the email field, typing in each persons email address, and a lookup on the other fields? Hey all, new to AirTable! So, I’ve setup a table which uses an Autonumber field in conjunction with formulas in two other fields to create an ID which will increment a base number (say, 10000 in this case) by the row number so whenever I create a new row, these two fields values will go 10001, 10002, etc… So, it’s all working great, but when I delete the test rows, the autonumber doesn’t reset back to 1. I had to delete the field and re-create it to make it work - is there a better way?

Hi everyone, Hope you’re having brilliant weeks. I’m trying to make a step challenge that I’ll be running for free. I’ve been able to split the results into teams but I’d like to create a league table based upon averages throughout the six weeks. I know how to do this in Excel but I can’t work out how to do it in Airtable. Does anyone have any ideas? This particular base is on a free account so don’t have access to any blocks. Good Morning Community! I feel that somewhere in the Airtable world there is a solution to this problem, but I cannot for the life of me find it. I need to be able to enter a new client, and have a set of recurring tasks (things we have to do with each client) automatically generate in what I’m assuming will be separate linked table. For example: I enter Joe Smith as a new record. Airtable automatically (through formulas, linked records, linked tables, etc.) creates a record for Joe Smith - Schedule Installation, Joe Smith - Create Template, Joe Smith - Print Template, etc. I really need to be able to at least CHECK OFF each of these items separately, if not actually schedule them (more advanced I know). Does anyone understand at least what I’m trying to do? ANY help is much appreciated. …

I am trying to figure out a way to star/highlight/flag certain rows in the Airtable so they stand out from the rest. I want to be able to show its importance as my company goes through the site together and we want to jump to the important topics. Any idea of how we can do this??? We have the free version so let me know any ideas you may have!

As I understand Airtable a field is equal to columns and the rows are equal to records. So, from that perspective here is my situation and question. I have created an Airtable to help my daughter keep track of her classes from multiple schools and programs as she works toward her nursing degree. So, we will be using and updating it for the next few years. Each class is its own record (or row). Once a class is complete, I would love to be able to lock that row so we don’t accidentally change something. I’m thinking linked information would be updated unless those linked items were locked. I would like to secure the choices/changes we have made to each record after the class is complete since we can’t change those class results in the past. If using Kanban, it would be nice that the classes that are marked complete they would be locked to the completed semester. So, I think my question is, “Can I lock individual records?”
