Hello, I’ve a Linked Table with many entries which are populated by this linking feature. I’d like to add a field that counts all linked entries belonging to that entry. All I could find was the build in Count feature, but it’s only applicable to 1 entry. I’ve been trying different formula combinations, sum, lookup, count, counta. no success yet… How to calculate this?

I need to collect data from my customers asking them what issues they are facing. Is there a way in airtable for me to sort that data by repeating/common topics? For example if I ask what prevents them from pursuing their dreams and 500 people were to say ‘time’, how can I make it so that time is at the top of the list above less common topics so that I know it’s a big concern for my customers?

Hello Airtable users! Newbie here to the community and beginning to dabble into Airtable as well. Trying to do my 4th project in Airtable, the first 3 were simple directories and inventories. This one is a bit more complex and I am struggling. This task that I do happens every year during Lent in our Diocese, I am trying to hopefully automate it from now on to some extent or at least make it visually easier. My yearly task I send out a Google Form to all the churches in the region (roughly 40) and ask for their service schedule during the time period of Great Lent. Everyone fills out the form, I generate a table that lists the churches and their equivalent Lenten service, convert to PDF, post online and distribute. I thought about a dedicated calendar that people can subscribe, but it might be too cluttered. (Example, if all the 40 churches have the same service time on the same day, -which does happen) But again, think about it from those 40 churches are scattered from up to Fresno do

I am asking for some advice. I am working on a problem that I have with my Base. That problem is that I am attempting to automate data updates to one table from 4 other tables on a weekly basis. The puzzle is that I am tracking events that occur on each of these 4 tables on a weekly timeline. These events are by employee, in the case that they incur a trackable event on that week. We are tracking these events on a week (or month) per the time stamp on each occurrence. Each event results in either a positive or a negative score. This score is then subtracted/added to/from a credit on a different table. I have run into two problems. First, I tried to roll up each occurrence on the Employee directory. Rolling up there created an accumulation of points, not tracking by week. I then did a look up on the table with that person’s weekly stats. That repeated all the scores from each week to every week thereafter, making that occurrence manipulate their score every week instead of just the week

Hello Airtable community. Newbie here. I recently come across the Airtable app on android and I am hooked. I am a beekeeper and I want to track progress of my bees using Airtable. I have multiple bee houses with multiple beehives in them. I think that Airtable will be great for that but it has some quirks that I hope I will be able to solve. I will have multiple bases. One for each beehouse. And there will be approximately 60 tables in each base. One table per hive. Because I can’t share views between tables I will create a view in the first table and then I will duplicate this table 59 times. I have a few quirks to solve. The biggest is. Is it possible to have filters for bases? For instance. If one or more hives have some problems to solve it will be easy to set the filter to the whole base instead of search for each problem in the table individually. It will be awesome if I can export the whole base at once. Can it be done? Have anyone had problems with my issues?

Am I able to link two records in the same table together? I have two tables called “Contacts” and “Attendance” Each meeting, I record attendance and which contact meeting with who since the last meeting Each new meeting is identified by date and the “Attendance” table is grouped by date to identify the meetings If Ann has a meeting with Greg, I’d like to add Greg to ann’s record in that meeting, but I’d also like Ann’s name to be added to Greg’s record for that meeting. While I could scroll back and forth during the meeting double-entering every entry, I feel that there’s an easier way to do this. The goal is to track how many “one-on-ones” each person has had since the last meeting. Perhaps I need a new table or a different methods of database design. Hopefully someone is willing to help me out on this. Thank you in advance.

Hi friends, I’m new to Airtable A friend recommended this tool to me because of its adaptability to create data collections without the need for a custom tool. I have the following doubts, after I checked the airtable help tool create formula in the primary field. I took the sales crm template and just want to simplify it, only the relationships it brings are not what I need and after reviewing the help I still have problems. the idea is the following from the contact table to relate it to accounts just for one id (i don’t know if the autonumber function will work) The idea that if you can’t use autonumber, you could use email as your unique identifier. Then, the connection to the account table (which I will convert into services) will link it to the users’ email (one-to-one relationship) (as unique identifier) (the idea is that for each user you can have a one-to-many relationship; so, for each user by x amount of services). and finally, the table of opportunities (I’m going to rename

I’m going to be really specific. I will have a medal tally which I want to be updated by many different event tables. These event tables will basically have an empty field to put in the winners’ name. Then depending on which fields are selected for Gold, Silver or Bronze, that will populate my Medal Tally tabe. How do I do that? Please help me!

Hello, Here’s some preliminary information to help you help me I have four tables within one base: Companies (primary field: Company Name) Articles (primary field: Article Title) Topics (primary field: Topic Name) Authors (primary field: Author Name) In the Companies table, there is a Topics field linked to the Topics table, and an Authors field linked to the Authors table. In the Articles table, there is a Topics field linked to the Topics table, and an Authors field linked to the Authors table. The question How can I link associated Authors to the Topics table – taking into account the relationship between the Authors and the Topics on the Companies and Articles tables? And how can I link associated Topics to the Authors table – taking into account the relationship between the Topics and the Authors on the Companies and Articles tables? Hey all, I’m trying to create an estimating tool that pulls pricing details from one base and sums them together. I have 10 “item” fields and 10 “quantity” fields. The item field is linked. The goal is to select the item, enter a qty and then get one big total for all the prices as well as the individual totals for each item * qty. Problem 1: I now have 10 linked fields on the services base. I can just hide them, but I don’t understand this at all. Problem 2: Do I have to create 10 lookup fields to pull the pricing details into the estimate base and then have that be the data that’s used for the formula? Is there an easier way? Thanks!

I am not sure why I can’t get my head around something that I think is easy but: I have a table of Videos that we air on a cable channel. One of the fields in the table (not the primary field) is a code# the station gives us. Each month, they send me an Excel list of the Code and number of airs that month. It does not include other fields. I can add the Code number to the Videos table but am lost after that. I need to copy and paste the Code# and # of airs into Airtable and then have a rollup showing the total number of airs per video for the life of the video. I know I need a linked table but for the life of me I can’t figure out how to do this because it is linking the Video Title rather than the Code #.

Is there a limit for how many links you can have from a one to many relationship?

Hi there, For an upcoming conference, people submitted around 150 abstracts. Each one has been reviewed, with a numeric score and optional text content. So each abstract is a singular thing, with one average score. But each abstract has multiple comments And each reviewer is one person, but has multiple comments. Do I need a junction table? Multiple junction tables? Is the example at the bottom of the page, Example 3: Clients, client orders, products, and manufacturers, what I’m looking for? Thanks!

Newbie here. I have two tables I am trying to link… table #1. which has basic plant info…name, details, photo. this is the master list of all the plants I’m interested in growing. table #2. these are all the plants that I have seeds for. I made the second table and was able to grab the plant name from table #1, but now I’d love to include a photo of this plant from from table #1. I tried making a new field on table #2 with the same name, and nothing happened. question: do I have to manually link all the photos for every plant on table number 2?

We are loving Airtable so far and getting ready to add some new users for our company! We are hoping to put together a “style guide” or best practices guide so that we all keep our bases, options, etc. consistent. Do you know if a template for something like this exists or is there a way to create a base that would work like this for us? Or, what does your company do to ensure bases work efficiently?

Hi everyone, I am fairly new to Airtable and I am building a process management tool for my restaurant business. What I am struggling with is the junction table and many-to-many relationships. I have read every example that Airtable provides, like the junction table one with students and classes. Am I understanding it correctly that the junction table has to be manually completed with all possible combinations? In the project that I am working on I have this same issue with vendors and processes. For each vendor we have to follow many processes and each process can be associated with many vendors. I therefor created 2 tables. Table 1 shows all vendors and is linked to Table 2 which lists all processes like Record Invoice, Pay Invoice, Place Order, etc… These processes are not the same for each vendor. I linked Table 1 & 2 and added the processes for each vendor in the linked field which generated the opposite on Table 2. Great so far! Now each combination Vendor 1 + Process 1, Vendor 1

I am looking to add a record to multiple tables within the same base. So if my tables are per client and I want to add a record to every client, do I need to physically add it to each one or is that a way to add it all at once? Thanks

How might one emulate an outer-join in a View? Example, I want my base to store recipe info in 3 tables; Recipes, Steps, Step Details. One Recipe has many Steps. One Step may have many Step Details. The Recipes table has fields like Recipe Name, Description, Prep Time.The Steps table has fields like Procedure. The Step Detail table has fields like Ingredient, Quantity, Measure. Since the Page Designer block must be based on only 1 table, I tried creating a view based on Step Details to lookup fields from Recipes and Steps. Problem: if there is a Step with no associated Step Detail (ie. no ingredients), then that Step does not show up in the view! It seems that if your table structure is more than 2 tables deep, you cannot pull all needed fields together in one view. I am currently evaluating Airtable as a platform for much larger projects. If the above is correct, that is a deal-killer. Suggestions anyone? Tig

Hi folks! I have run into an issue that I can’t quite figure out. I have a base where I want to track inventory and profitability for our Event Decor company. The base has a table for Inventory items and a table for Events. On the inventory table I have a quantity field that is used to keep track of how many of a certain item we have in stock. In addition, this table tracks what events the items have been used for and also tracks the profitability of each inventory item. The problem is when I have an inventory item with multiple quantities. I have no way to specify the quantity used for their event in the events table because every inventory item is displayed in 1 cell. This means that if we have two items in stock but the event only uses 1, I have no way to input that and then perform calculations on that.

I’m trying to create my own version of the sales CRM. I manually copy in new leads (job numbers) in my first table and then I’d like those same job numbers to automatically appear in a second table so that I can group them by company which submitted them. I’ve tried it with a lookup but that doesn’t automatically pull in new data, which is what I would like - an automated lookup. Anybody ever ttried something like this?

I have an Escrow Tracker Base where each table is an individual property that is tracking the timeline of documents and dates of Escrow. I want to create a table that summarizes the entire base and need some help setting up.
