I’m new to AirTable so forgive me if this has already been answered. Is it possible to create one form that will enter records into two different tables? I am making a form to enroll a student. The first 4 fields, Name, village, birth date will go into a table of students. The next 4 fields: semester, year, study group would go into another table as these would differ from year to year. Thank you in advance for considering my question. Rob
Heya community!I have a main table of tasks (source) which is two-way synced out to a few different bases depending on their category/who’s responsible (long story short). In this source table, I’d love a way to have a button open up the record from within one of the specific synced tables. I have a sad feeling this isn’t possible, but would love any help figuring this one out!I know from the synced table I can do this very easily back to the source, but I’d love a way to do it the other way.I really hoped that the record ID would stay the same in both places so I could create a URL that combined the new base/table with the existing record ID, but alas :(
Can Airtable manage version control with attachments to ensure that when a file is replaced with the new file, only the new file is visible or clearly identified as the current version whilst retaining access to historic versions?Any best practise on how to set this up or use some form of approval work flow? Thanks,
I am looking for the best way to set up an Airtable to keep track of a lot of book publishing details with minimal repetitive data entry and as human proof as possible. I’m on the free plan. The situation:I have several book series (Power of Five, Dragons, Talonswood, Trident, Draken). Each book series has multiple books. Each book can be published in multiple formats (ebook, paperback, hardback, discrete paperback, discrete hardback). Each book is being translated into multiple languages (English, German, French, Italian). After translation, each book, in each format, needs to be uploaded to several platforms (KDP, Kobo, Ingram, Tolino, D2D). Not all books get uploaded to all platforms. For example, English language books don’t get uploaded to Tolino. I need to somehow keep track of this mess so me and my assistant know what’s been done and what hasn’t. Also would be good to keep track of an error log so we know what’s needs to be fixed. how would you set this up??
I have an existing list of barcode numbers in my base. I need to be able to scan a stack of corresponding barcodes and have Airtable check off that barcode so that I know the barcode from the list was matched with the scanned barcodes. Is there a way to create this in Airtable?
Hello, we are a Charlotte-based organization and started experimenting with Airtable in our Operations department and now are trying to build Airtable for our organizational project management. We are looking for a contractor/consultant that is ideally in the Charlotte area and able to help us with our base, tables, interfaces and dashboards, ideally building it in a way we can easily manipulate in the future, if needed (e.g. no code?) -Susan
Hello! I am looking for an advanced questionnaire, either in Forms for Airtable or an integration. I would need it to be in sections (each section having a little header with directions), and an if-then conditional type of response, where if they answer a question one way, the next thing pops up based on that answer.Any thoughts on how to do this in Airtable or what integrations may be best for this? Thanks!
My organization is implementing a new Airtable base structure complete with integrations with Softr, Fillout, and Make. It’s a complex build that has taken over a year to build. We recently upgraded to Business to take advantage of higher record limits and 2-way table sync. Now I have learned of the limitations of the 2-way sync and I am doubting everything. We were advised to design our operation in two bases; let’s call them People and Things. About half of the tables in each base have been synced into the other base. Here’s the problem:A table in People (Names) is synced to Things The synced Names table needs a rollup from a table in Things (Furniture). A linked field and the rollup are added to the synced table. We need that rollup back in the People base, but it does not sync back because of how 2-way syncing works (records sync, not fields native to in the target base). So, we sync Furniture to the People base - it includes the linked field to the Names table on Things. We try to
I shared on our Wix site the Airtable calendar. All looks good. But if the public clicks on the View larger version link, along the bottom right, it opens larger and shows at the top Using “Reserved Date/time field, customize labels , filter and sort. Filter and sort is fine but how do I remove “using Reserved Date/Time and customize labels. It looks weird and confusing to public. I am on the free plan.
Airtable has come a long way from when I first started where I had to pair it with Excel to get earnings and cashflow projections for my small freelance business. I now have four extensions that give me data I used to have to calculate with Excel, but I’m missing the fifth that would let me ditch Excel completely, and this extension needs the following formula: Projected Available Next Month - Fixed Number=“Left to Earn (negative)/Rollover (positive).”I have the first part to get these numbers and then I have the method to use the answer of the equation to redistribute those numbers in AT according to whether I’m short or flush, but I cannot get that middle calculation in AT.FWIW because my income is so variable, this data lets me even out my earnings and pay myself a regular paycheque. I started doing it manually on paper, then with Excel, then I started in AT and continually improved my base as more features came available. I really want to get to the point that I can ditch Excel and
Does "commenting" an entry count as a modification regarding the default value "last modified date" ?Thanks !
I apologize if this is the wrong forum.I am new to Airtable looking for someone to set up simple DB to keep track of customers.A table with maybe 6-10 fields. Will need to import current old DB, which I can probably do once the Airtable is set up or may need assistance.Thank you,Michael McDonnellcontact: mikejmcdonnell@gmail.com
Hi There!I'm developing a resource allocation base for my team, where tasks may involve multiple collaborators, each with distinct daily availability and varying percentages of time commitment. While assigning resources at the project level is an option, it doesn't accommodate the differing daily time percentages required by each collaborator. How can I structure the template to effectively account for these variables?
In our base, we have a field where users can select a project from a linked table. However, we want users to only select from existing projects, not create new ones. Currently, the small "+" button still appears next to the field, allowing users to add new projects—something we want to prevent. Is there an easy way to disable or hide the "+" button in a linked record field without locking or restricting the entire field or table for the user? We're looking for a solution that allows selection from existing records but completely disables the creation of new ones via this interface.Screenshot to show that often projects are added by incident - which we would like to prevent
Hi Team, I would like to understand, how to automatically reset the form sub-field values, when user change the parent input field. Here is a simple example,Form has two fields, Country and State which is dynamically populated using Linked record feature State field will be shown displayed, only when Country field is not-empty (ie, only when user selects the country, state field will be enabled for selection) Once user selects the Country and State, and when we clear the country selection, then automatically state field is getting disappeared as per the condition mentioned in step-2 When user selects the country again, State field is shown, but with previously selected value We do not want this field to show the users previous selection, because user has changed the country , hence we want user to reselect the state freshly and not showing the previous selected value
I started my WooCommerce store already before I heard about airtable have can I collect the product information already published to create a base and add new products to this base to publish on wordpress store regards Linda
Hi guys,I have an Airtable base with several tables, including one for “persons” and another for "sectors".The "sectors" tables link persones to fields specific to a sector. In the interface, for a specific sector, I had created a Kanban view where the stacking field was set to the ”person” :“Person” stacking field is availableHowever, after changing the interface, I noticed that I could no longer select the "person" field as the stacking field.“Person” stacking field doesn’t appearI have tried to replicate the table from the older version but I can’t manage to make the “Person” stacking field appear again.Could you please help me understand what might be causing this issue? Thank you! Marino
Hi!We are looking for a skilled individual or company experienced with Airtable, Make.com, and potentially Softr. Our goal is to customize a database solution tailored to our specific needs. We’re looking to: Optimize and structure our Airtable base Set up automated workflows with Make.com Possibly create a frontend for the database (using Softr or another tool) Connect Airtable with our website/backend Preferably, we would love to work with someone based in Sweden or who is comfortable working in Swedish, but this is not a strict requirement. If this sounds like something you can help with, feel free to reach out via DM or comment below. Looking forward to hearing from you!
Hi Airtable Community,I have an interesting problem I did not forsee when we made a base to track equipment we rent to other contractors from time to time. We have a job (record) where we linked in individual records for different kinds of equipment and now that it has been returned, we need to be able to track and validate it is here. I have the individual records that were added inside an individual cell and it went in how we did it - meaning in no numerical order (we just grabbed a piece of equipment off the shelf, scanned it into the customers record and repeated. The issue with that is the individual records didnt go in in any discernable order. They each have a number, but I can't seem to sort by the record by that number. This creates an issue becuase in order to check the items back in (or rather validate that they made it back here) we have to visually scan through every item in the record looking for the right number. This won't work as it will take too much time as there are
Hi,Is it possible to somehow filter users away from interface dropdowns relying on a "User" field? We currently see both admin users, Airtable support users and some user's older user names in the dropdowns, which confuses people who should choose e.g. next handler for a topic.Rgds,BjörnPS. Related to this topic, would be nice to see user groups in Airtable. That would solve the need above.
I have a digital asset management database with multiply artists. I would like to share only one artist’s assets with other people so they can edit on it, and the edit would sync back to my database too. I’m in Team plan currently. The solution I came up with is to create a View with only the data that I would like to share. Then create a 2-way sync and edit to a new base and share the collaborator permission of the new base. But that would require me to update go Business plan.I’m wondering if there’s a workaround with the Team plan? Thanks.
I'm finally making great progress and haven't been frustrated enough to quit yet, so I think I'm going to be able to make this (along with fillout) to help support my makerspace. I hope to eventually move from the free plan to Teams once I know I have all the major pieces in place. But once I do, and we're using it, I'm concerned that my future clugey attempts to add functionality might break operations. Is there any concept of development, QA and production versions of a workspace?
I am trying to convert an existing solution to airtable, and see some great enhanced functionality. however, there are relationships in my existing system that I am not sure how to appropriately recreate in airtable. For instance, i have a join table that shows several different related tables through a relationship. some of the relationships are many-to-many, and would be created in the main join table. What’s the best way to recreate that in AirTable? Thanks in advance…jesse
Hi, I have a request to set up a “tag” so that users can @mention everyone in a dept. in one new comment. I tried doing this with groups. I created a group made up of 4 users who are all Editors in the base, and gave the group the name “TechGroup”. I would like to add a comment on a record and ‘@TechGroup’ so each member is notified. So, far this doesn’t seem to work. Is there another way to tag multiple people in one mention? Thanks!
Hi! I created a base and interface for a game I have been playing, Schedule 1. Yes, it is a game where you create drugs based on different combinations and then sell those drugs :P. I have included a public view of it below. I have it basically how I want it, but I need a way, anyway, toFrom the drugs table, have a view that pulls the Teir 1 drug from any drug that isn’t a T1 drug. And then display in each row, the T1 drug, the different mixed supplies, and the drug effects. The challange is, in the game, when you make the drugs, they randomize the names after mixing. So, what for me, mixing ‘Aspen Grool’ which is a T3 drug, might be called something different for another user. It would be rather daughting to dig through each drug combo and source it back to the T1 drug, so I was hoping there was a way to do it in a formula or view or something. Thoughts? https://airtable.com/appXdxs1ShjFgTxFE/shrbWwxkofvHeaHNr
