Hey everyone! I have the following challenge in airtable:I have 3 bases and tables:Catalog: Products, Categories, GroupsInventory: Products (synced with the products table from Catalog), purchase orders, purchase order itemsOrders: Sales Orders, Sales Orders Items, Products (synced with the products table from Catalog)In inventory, In the table "Products" I'm calculating the available inventory based on the Purchase Order Items quantities in a column called "Available QTY", but my issue is: how can I add a column called "Sold QTY" which sums the product quantities from the table "Sales Order Items" from the base "Orders"?When I sync the sales order items into Inventory, the issue is that makes me sync also the Products table from Orders base. So I end up syncing 2 times the products table in the inventory base and the rollup doesn't work because each table is referencing different synced "Product" tables
Hi everyone,I'm working with the Kanban view in Airtable and wondering if there's a way to modify the tooltip that appears when hovering over a status or add a "Sub-Status" field to provide more details. Right now, I have stacked columns for different statuses, but I'd like to display more information without renaming them completely.Has anyone found a way to:Show a "Sub-Status" field in the Kanban view?Modify the tooltip that appears when hovering over a status?Add descriptions directly in the stacked columns?Would love to hear if anyone has a better approach! Thanks in advance!
Hi Airtable Community,I'm experiencing some challenges with RTL (Right-to-Left) text handling in my base, specifically when mixing Hebrew/Arabic with English content. I'd love to get some insights from the community on best practices and possible solutions.Current Issues:Text alignment becomes inconsistent when mixing RTL languages (Hebrew/Arabic) with EnglishThe reading flow is disrupted, making it uncomfortable to read and work with the dataThis affects both table views and interface elementsQuestions:Is there a way to set a default RTL alignment for specific fields or tables? Are there any known workarounds for handling mixed RTL/LTR content effectively?Does Airtable support RTL for automated emails and notifications?Use Case: I'm managing a project where we frequently need to input both Hebrew and English content. Currently, the mixed text appears jumbled and unclear, which impacts our team's efficiency and data readability.I've already tried:Using different field typesAdjusting fie
hi Airtable users!I have a question regarding custom selection of Lookup Field Values in Linked Records.I have 2 tables (A and B). I setup a Linked Field and then 2 lookup fields in table A. This pulls in a Group name Category names from B.Now in Table A, I'd like to manually choose a specific Categories (based on categories from the lookup field). The steps I'm trying: I choose a group (in the linked field), and then choose categories manually... but I can only see how to show ALL categories in the lookup field OR categories that meet certain conditions. But this is not what I want... I want to choose only specific categories, which vary for each record. There are no conditions for this. How would I do this? Maybe there is a formula? Please help! How can I choose specific values based on a lookup field?Thank you
In many other systems you have an "Edit" button. Until you click the "edit" button, the data is read only. Adding this basic feature would solve A LOT of problems using Airtable. Each and every grid (and maybe other views) should have the now famous Airtable slide switch: Locked or Unlocked. (A nice touch would be a green border around the entire page for unlocked, red for locked.) This would allowing sorting, grouping, filtering etc. and working with the data w/o accidentally changing the data, something that has happened to us more than once.
Does Airtable provide the access control, if we want to control read and write access at screen and components level?Means if there are 10 fields on one screen and we want to give edit access for only one field to one person and give edit access for all fields on the same screen to another person
I don't know if it is possible.. we know that on excel we can have live data and refresh the table to include the new data. And we know that we can link an excel file to airtable and export the data on it.So my question is can we create a dynamic airtable table that refresh every time I refresh the excel file?I don't know if it is something impossible.. Thank you🙏
I'm looking for a way to customize the Fields, and their order, that appear in an Expanded Record's preview cards for that Linked Field. It seems Random, or customizable? I know in a normal grid view, I can specify the Linked Record field to use a specific view, and set the order in that view...but that doesn't seem to affect the expanded record's preview cardanyone have experience solving this?
Hello,I'm wondering if there's a workaround to import data into linked fields. For example, I'm importing monthly salary information to a data table and the employee name corresponds to the primary field of a different table. Airtable only imports the non-linked fields.Would it be possible to import the employee name as a different field then run a script to create the linked record ? Or any other ideas will be appreciated. Thanks,Mark
Hello, I manage two different teams - Team A & Team B. Both of these teams have their own separate base with their own projects. How I capture all of their projects into one grid table without having to do manual entry? I would like to have them sync together since their projects can associate with eachother.
I'm having a mental block on something, and I'm sure someone will point out the right way to do this, and I'll privately say "oh, of course", but for some reason the coffee and adderal hasn't kicked in yet....I'm trying to make a member contact form that has a link to a specific person to populate an email table.I have two tables:Member - a list of people including status, name, email address etc...Email - a table that has all the email fields that I use an automation script that takes certain status values "Send" and sends those out and changes the status. I use this script method instead of the pure automation because I have several other scripts that generate emails from templates to send emails out.We essentially have a wiki page with a page for each users's profile (for example: <Jeff's profile >. I want to have a link that uses id=record_id() of a row on my members table, which ties to an individual. When they hit the link, it pulls up the name, member photo, and some
Hi there! We are trying to move our corporate budget tracking to Airtable. As an example, say we have $400 to spend, the sum of the rate would need to be subtracted from $400 ongoingly. Do you have any ideas on how to best do this without manually subtracting the sum from $400 every time?
Hi all!My team and I are using Airtable to store user research as we build out and iterate on different products within our org. One of our goals is creating a repository to reference research participants we've spoken with in the past to contact them more easily for future research. The goal of this base is two-fold: the first being a structured pool of participants to pull from, and the second is a collision map to make sure we're not pulling the same participant for several different projects and overloading them. Our project teams often aren't aware of who the other team is recruiting for research and this has happened a few times. In the participant repository base, my setup so far is 3 tabs, 1)Ongoing projects and their timelines, 2) Our staff members and 3)The participant database. I have a lookup field in the participant database tab that lists the projects a participant is involved with and another field with the status of those projects, whether they are active or i
Our team has fallen deep into the airtable ocean! We love them and so do our clients...That said, we now have so many bases, tables, interfaces, etc. that it's getting difficult to remember where things are or who created what.I'm hoping that something already exists that will easily allow me to take and catalog all the various workspaces, bases, etc. easily without needing me to go into each one to create a new table(s) that have this information in it.If no extension or tool exists, perhaps someone could share a table structure they already use to maintain order in their chaos? I need to set up something quickly!
DATETIME_DIFF( TODAY(), {Fecha de nacimiento}, "years") & " años, " & (DATETIME_DIFF( TODAY(), {Fecha de nacimiento}, "months" ) - DATETIME_DIFF( TODAY(), {Fecha de nacimiento}, "years" ) * 12)& " meses" como hago para que en vez de contar hasta hoy, se cuente hasta una fecha exacta?
Hi, is there a way to colour the background of cells, or better whole columns? What I’m trying to do is categorize the columns into different sections in a large table. I guess it is not possible since the filter and sort features colour the background of the according columns. Is there some other way to categorize the columns? Many thanks in advance!
I would love the ability to add a color background to the cells in a particular column. This would greatly help in making the column standout. Is this possible? If not please add this functionality. It’s very easy in Excel. Thanks
Hello! I’m new to Airtable and could really use guidance on structuring a base to serve as the central hub for our content production and management. Currently, we use Asana for task management and Airtable as a content calendar, but the workflow between them is clunky and inconsistent. I’d like to consolidate everything into Airtable in the name of consistency, efficiency—and my sanity.Current Workflow ChallengesArticles: Articles are manually brought into Airtable only when it’s time to promote them, not immediately after being published. However, articles are often updated later (e.g., older articles being rewritten or reviewed). This creates inconsistencies because updates in Asana don’t always sync back to Airtable.Rewrites: Older articles that need rewriting go through a full workflow in Asana (essentially the same steps as creating a new article).Reviews: Recently published articles will get a second review a few months after publication. This review process is managed in A
Hello everyone,I'm new to Airtable.I need to administer a standardized test consisting of several questions to several people every month.I would like to be able to record the answers so that I can follow the evolution of the answers over time and according to the people.I can create the list of questions and record the answers, but I can't create separate entities for each date on which the questionnaire is taken.Could you help?Thank you in advance for your help!
Hello there,I'm starting to migrate from an old Access database to Airtable. Part of this Access DB was used to track a number of groups and the days/times they meet per week. The data is in two tables, Groups and Meetings. Groups is just a list of groups which has a one-to-many relationship with Meetings which is a matrix of a time-of-day and day-of-week:It shows in a report like below. The letters in the boxes are different meeting formats:I have imported the data into AT and linked the two tables. The issue is that all of the time-of-day and day-of-week data is getting combined into fields. I understand that is what is supposed to happen. Is there any way to link records and keep them separated in a one-to-many relation? Here is a link to a Base with the sample data: https://airtable.com/applQ22GX9Mh4QaAI/shraUgGlLA5zlOKoiThank you for any insight you may be able to provide!Jason
I want to use different colours for column headers to differentiate between those that must be changed manually and those that will automatically be updated from automation when certain conditions are met. Is this possible?
Hey all.I have tasks that are laid out and currently in one table - Milestones. I have another table with Event names. The idea is each Event will have all the tasks in the Milestones/task listing table. SO that when I group by each Event, the tasks can be worked on for THAT event, they're the same tasks, but need to be linked to each Event separately. Does that make sense.I created a third table as a sort of junction table and created two linked fields, one for the Event and the Other for the Milestone/task listing. The above table is the "junction table". Did I need to do it this way? Or just I've just added the task linked table in the FS Listings?Any ideas?
I have two tables Properties list and Budget. In the Properties table, I have a user field that we can assign the property manager to that particular property and that manager is only able to view and edit the Budget(budget table) details belonging to the property. But in budget table has many records of multiple properties detail. But that particular property manager should be able to view and edit Budget details belonging to that property. The rest of the details can be visible or hidden but should not be editable. Is that possible?
Hello all,I'm wondering if it's possible to indicate certain records in a table as read-only. The idea is that once these records have been validated they should not be modifiable (except perhaps through a special procedure). It's for accountancy records that have been transferred to an external database and so should no longer be modifiable.Any tips or tricks anyone to achieve this? Thanks,Mark
Hiya!I'm trying to create a registration form to send out to external users, but want them to be able to see the remaining capacity of each event, to know if they can register for the event. I tried to do this via a lookup field and as a read only field to find that Lookup fields aren't supported in Forms and Read Only fields won't appear in the public facing form. Is there a work around for this?I have the form set up where if an event is at capacity it won't show in the form, but haven't found a way for it to not accept registrations causing the event to go over capacity, which is why I though the registrant seeing the remaining capacity would be helpful. For example:A teacher wants to register their class of 40 for one of our spring concerts. Their first choice is Concert A, but when they selects Concert A, they sees it only has 30 spots left, thus they should go with a different choice. [as it stands right now Concert A is still a choice since it is not at capacity, but it wou
