Base Design

I'm putting together a website/CRM/internet stuff for a window cleaning business. I've looked at Jobber and it seems to offer everything we need but at $100+ per month it's pretty expensive. I tried kickserv which is about half the price for the features we need but my cursory exploration has not been impressive. I love Airtable and I bet the tools have already been developed to make it work. What sites like Jobber do is give an embeddable form that plugs the customer right into the database. They have another form that the worker can use to create an estimate and this of course all gets plugged right into the database. This can all go together and spit out an invoice. These are the main features I need to figure out for Airtable. Some other parts of the Jobber-type solution are things like CC processing and messaging. These are nice to have but aren't essential as long as the system can provide notifications when certain things happen. Any suggestions for tools/app

Hi,Our Airtable approach is to provide users with interfaces, nobody works in the base directly. For a Google Calendar event creation automation we now need to add users. The automation is initiated from a button, and its purpose is to create a new event for the user that clicks the button.However, I couldn't figure out a way to make new calendar connections, nor how to make the automation fully follow the "current user" approach.The questions are:(1) I could only find a way to connect new Google Calendars myself (as the admin). Since I don't have, and don't want to have, the users' Google credentials, how can I facilitate new connections? I don't want to extend user access to the base just for this. Some way of sending connection invitations by mail?(2) given I find a solution for the above, I would wish not to hard code a separate conditional logic for each user, so that the Google Calendar entry could be made for the right user. Hi, I am trying to find a way to find the value that is the second to the max value of multiple linked record using rollup. I can find the max value, but I am still unable to find a way to find the second to max value. So if I have, 21840, 20194, 21664, I need to be able to work with the max(21840) and the second to max(21664). I hope I have explained my situation properly and hopefully someone can help me. A few years back I set up a base for one of our clients who was new to Airtable. I invited them as a collaborator to the base to start to familiarize them with the system. Since then we have been paying for both us and them as a collaborator on the base. The time has come that we want to transfer owernship of the base to them completely so they will both be managing and paying for the base. How do I go about doing that? Do I invite them as an owner and then delete them as a collaborator? How do I remove myself as an owner for the base? How do we get them set up to be billed for the base?

Hi - I am building a base that serves as a marketing tech stack document. I am listing software titles in the first column, and then have columns for "Features in use" and "Features available but not in use" etc.  Each of those columns have multiple selection options.  My goal is to be able to create a view that will group all the software options by the individual features.  So one example use is that I want to be able to see all our software that has the Available Feature to do SMS texting in one group. Did I set this up right to do that? 

There are times when I need a data field to be "Required".   Otherwise, data quality issues are introduced. When this is needed, usually the data field must always be "Required" (Use Case #1).  There are also times when a data field needs to be "Required" only conditionally (Use Case #2), based on a value present in another data field within the record.  What I have observed:Airtable supports Use Case #1 during data creation via the Interface Creation Form, but not during a data update.  I can delete the data in a "required" data field, subsequently in the same interface.Airtable doesn't support Use Case #1 at the table/view level.  It can't be specified when defining a column.Regarding Use Case #2, "Conditionally Required" enforcement is not supported, either at the table/view level or within an interface.  Am I missing something?  Please let me know if there is another means to enforce these rules.

I have a simple linked table. There is a table of CASES with a bunch of fields and then another table called CASE ACTIVITY which has scheduled activities for each CASE, so the tables are linked by CASEID which is the primary field on CASES.That all works fine. Under CASE ACTIVITY each row is a dated activity, so :CASEIDScheduled actionDate65Sent for review10/10/202465Publish findings12/10/2024I would like to have a formula field in CASES that shows the date when the next activity occurs. And I started with a formula field that simply said "MIN({Date (from Case Activity)})" but it returns a value of zero.Ultimately it would also need to not pick dates that have already passed.Any ideas?

Hi Some of my team are having trouble clearly viewing what days / weeks the records are in within the TIMELINE view as it feels like there should be gridlines or at least column lines, not just the blue 'today' vertical line.Is there a way to toggle these lines on or off does anyone know, or would anyone want this feature too?TIACharlie

I have monthly price lists that I'm looking to combine into a "master" combined price list.  The appended base provides 3 monthly price lists, along with a 4th table that exemplifies the desired output table.  In the "Combined Price List - Desired Output" table, a field is allocated to each of the respective monthly price lists.  I'm looking for a way to automate the creation of the 4th table.  Ideally, the 4th table would update if the monthly price list tables are updated.  Base Link  

I am a student and currently working on digitalizing and automating the administration for a dance school. The Airtable base is already set up and in use. Now, I want to implement additional features and make adjustments. I am working within the same account that the dance school uses.How can I create a kind of development environment where I can experiment and test new features, while keeping the current Airtable base active and unchanged? Our company has an inventory of office supplies, which we track in a table called 'Inventory'. This has fields for item description, photo, quantity available, location, etc.We want to create a system to create "checkout orders" and select multiple items, similar to a shopping cart. We want to do this through interface pages.I know I'll need 2 other tables: 'Orders' (overall requests) and 'Order Items' (items requested in order).The question is how to create an interactive workflow to place items into your order.I'd like to have a List or Gallery starting page, which displays all the items in stock. I'd like to do something like a checkbox or button to add items to my order. I want to use airtable to build the application form that people submit and goes directly into my base when applying for a job. This particular job has 100 questions, and we're expecting a relatively high number of submission. The application form itself has conditional formating "like if YES to question 17, then there's a 5 more questions on that for you". The questions are sometimes drop down, single line text, long text, multiple select, and single select. How is the best way to do this? The reason I'm thinking of using airtable is because I want to filter responses as much as possible.

Hi All!Looking for a quick gut check on a build method...record templates vs task template table.Path 1I've built out the base this way task template (table C) and have it all structured,  tasks (table B), and a project (table A). So when a form is submitted it creating a record on (table A) an automation is triggered that reads the project type then finds the related tasks (table C) creates copies of them on (table B) and then links them to the project. This happens for each project created. Path 2I've built the same idea using the record template feature so when automation form is submitted to (table A) the automation is fired that looks to see what program type it is and then updates the record using a record template of the same name and adds new tasks to (table B) linked to the project. There's obviously a lift on the system to run the automation and do all the steps/complex logic work in the first version and an extra table that is not needed in the 2nd. Alright, I've watched all the YouTube videos I can, and have looked in here for help and I'm still stuck.Problem I'm Trying to SolveAs an interior designer/home stagerI want a "shopping" page of available inventorySo that I can click a button and select and item for a jobI have a grid set up, which includes all the inventory we own for staging homes. I also have a gallery view of that table. What I want to be able to do is have one of our non-technical interior designers come to the gallery and see only the available/in-stock items, I haven't tried tackling that part yet, but it seems easy enough. The part I'm stuck on is I want them to be able to click a button and add it to an order or "shopping cart" if you will. They can just scroll through, click a button for the items they want and in the end, end up with a list of all the inventory items we need to pull to stage a home. Is this possible?

The relatively recent addition of "default to current date" is really useful on date fields, where 95% of the time the user is going to select "today."However, it seems that the field doesn't use our local timezone, unless I enable "display time." I don't want to have to enable "display time" as our bases are designed to be used on mobile, so it's always a challenge to keep views succinct. Is there a setting I'm missing, or is this a bug in Airtable?Here's a couple of screenshots:Showing the variance in the baked in "created date" field and the "date" field, which defaults to current date.  Here is the edit history of the "beetroot" record, showing that the user (me) didn't accidentally select a different date.

If I create a Base (Base A) that has a Table with 100 contact records (for example), can I create another Base (Base B) that has a Table that links to Base A? Then, if I update a record in Base A, it gets updated in Base B and all Bases to which these records are linked/ propagated?Thanks in advance.

Hello,My organization has developed a great app in Airtable for our really unique use case (context at the bottom). The functionality of the app is really, really great. The user interface design and usability is poor and is now causing problems, and I'd like help improving the user interface.The biggest problem is that we have so many different datapoints that we need to access, that our "Grid View" tables are too wide, so we can't see all the information at one time that we need to see. How can I transform my Airtable user interface into something that's really helpful and usable? I would love to be able to activate the current Airtable time tracker per project (start, pause and stop) in an interface and get reports per project, sum of all projects, per week, per month per year. And be able to manually override (because it occasionally happens that I am working on a project and forgot to set my toggle timer...).I have been puzzling for over a month now with last time modified, duration, datetimediff and with the time tracker from Airtable, but I do not get the results that I want (which is basically the exact functions of Toggle). I did learn from the topics in the community, but this still does not bring be to what I really want. Is there anyone in the community that would love to have this function in Airtable as well, and do you have a clue how to build such a tool? New Airtable user here, so this is a pretty basic question (and so hopefully a straightforward answer!), though I can’t find existing guidance in the forum. Specifically, I’m having no luck creating a “Link to another record” column that automatically populates itself with those linked records. The Project tracker template provides an example of exactly what I mean: the Task column is linked to the Tasks table and automatically fills with any new records that are added to the latter. When I attempt to create a new “Link to another record” column with this functionality, however, it’s blank and stays blank (doesn’t pull in existing or newly created records from the Tasks table). What am I missing? Do I also need to create an automation, app, or something else to do the work of pulling in the records? (I don’t see any such automation or app in the template though). Any guidance extremely appreciated - thank you!
