Hello Community,I hope you're all doing well. I am currently working on a project where I need to create an accounting table in Airtable to manage financial transactions. The table should include columns for "Date", "Amount", and "Event Type", and it needs to track various financial events such as existing non-financial debts, personal financial debts, business debts, and loan transactions. Here's a brief overview of the data I need to incorporate:For the date 2024-03-01:Existing Non-Financial Debt: -15,000,000Existing Personal Financial Debt: -31,000,000Existing Business Debt: -8,000,000For the date 2024-06-01:Startup Loan Transaction: -100,000,000Additionally, for 2024-12-01, there is an event of "Sacrifice" which involves an 80% forgiveness of the combined total of the Existing Personal Financial Debt and Existing Business Debt. And for 2025-02-01, there is a "Loan (Business Closure)" event adding +100,000,000.I am looking to not only input this data but also calculate the total
We run a weekly vege bag program, and I need some help scaling up and improving our record keeping. Members can get their vege bag delivered for a fee, or pick it up.We ask members to commit to being a delivery or pick up, but there are always a few who need a one-off delivery each week. This creates 2 checkbox fields:"regular delivery"and"one-off delivery"On vege-bag day I create a view that filters only "one-off delivery" and "regular delivery" to create my delivery list. However, for tracking payments, we need to be able to see a history for each weeks' "one-off-delivery" (to make sure the delivery fee is being paid), so simply unchecking the "one-off delivery" doesn't work that well. However, creating a new field each week with "Delivery 30 march" and then a new view which filters "regular delivery" and "Delivery 30 march" is cumbersome and prone to human error. This might seem fairly menial, however there are several other pieces of information I need to be able to track si
Dear Community! When creating a timeline view with a "Day" timescale the horizontal axis ranges from 1st Dec 2023 to 20th Aug 2024. Is there a way to adjust these start and end dates of the timeline?I'm trying to make use of the timeline view for planning shifts during an event that only goes for a few days and the massive range on the horizontal axis makes the view basically unusable.Best regardsHenry
HiI am a curriculum coordinator in higher education and have multiple bases/tables/forms that contain/gather information about course units in the curriculum. All information always relates to a course unit, e.g. Business Economics. All the information needs to be linked so I can always look up information in other bases/tables, but I'm not sure when to create a new base, create a new table in a base or create a new view. These are some of the data I have:Curriculum 'technical information': per course unit how many credits, elective or not, prerequisites, timing (SEM1 or SEM2) etc.Curriculum task allocation: information that comes from an export from our CRM which shows which lecturer will be teaching a particular course unit in which semester(s) to which class group. The unique key here is a formula field concatenating course unit - class group - semester - lecturer, e.g. Bachelor Thesis - Class Group 2 - SEM2 - John Doe. There should be a one-to-many relationship here, where one reco
Hello! I have created a student database and while the linking between tables worked as recently as last week, the copy/paste function appears not to work anymore. Specifically, on the ‘Contacts’ table (see screenshot), any time a new record (student) is added, I would like to copy and paste that name into other columns which link to other tables such that the names show up in those other tables. For example, as seen in the screenshot, I would like to copy and paste the name ‘Kamala Harris’ to ‘Snapshot_link’ such that it shows up on the Snapshot table. However, I’m unable to do so-- I get a ‘Pasting…’ message and nothing happens. Currently the Name field is a formula, but it won’t work even if I make it a single line text.
Hi Everyone! I'm trying to design a judging system for a science fair styled event but I'm wondering if there's an easy way to do the judging assignment through airtable or if I can do it through Excel then transfer to airtable. Right now I have three tables: 1. Judges (All the judges are named and given a unique number) 2. Projects (Each team & their assigned table) 3. Scoring (A grid + form view where each judge can select their name + the team they're assessing through the form - I use linked records to group the teams and get final score). Is there a way you would recommend assigning each team 3 judges with team receiving any one judge more than once. Maybe there's some trick by using a number to represent each judge and the random formula... Would love any ideas.
Hi all, I am building a base that should help me build diets for my customer. In one of the tables, there are all the foods I can use (800+ records), each of them with nutritional data, as the nutritional tables on the foods boxes, to be clear. In another table, I would like to link records from the food table, and summarize nutritional facts from each of them. This is easy, also with multiple records linked, using the rollup field. The problem is: I would like to add a specific amount of each food (a quantity, so to speak), and calculate nutritional facts from each linked records and summarize the results. For example: I would like to add an apple to my diet, but the food table has nutritional fact for 100g of apple and I would like to add 250g of apple in the diet table. If I have to link just one record, it would be simple, I add another numeric field and use it as a multiplier for the nutritional facts. But since I am not sure how many food items
Hi, I would like to request allowing the fields to become collapsible in the detail view. This is both on the web and on the mobile all. When I click to expand the record, I get the whole view of the record and the fields expand to show all contents in the fields. While this is great, it poses issues if text in the fields is long and if there are multiple fields with long text. The same issue (even worse) is on the mobile application for Android and iOS because there it requires tons of scrolling down to get to the field I need in the record expanded detail view. What would help is adding a collapsibility to fields. I do not want to hide fields from the view but if select very long fields can be preset as collapsed, whenever I view the record, that would allow me to scroll faster and find what I need and then click to expand the collapsed field if I need.
Hi! I'm working with a customer who needs a general warehouse control for his business. I have created the base and all works fine. Here is my problem...When merchandise enters his warehouse, it goes into his inventory. Currently, he adds 1 or 2 products manually in a form(Writes 1st item, clicks submit. Writes 2nd item, clicks submit). The issue comes when he needs to manually input 5+ items. Is there a way, a form or a template, where he can add X number of rows, click “send“ and for them to load to a page? *As a reference, the input is in an “inventory“ tab that is linked to: product tab, supplier tab, invoice tab.
HiI think I've been overthinking this and have brain freeze. Two tables Contacts (all contacts) and Students (people who have been trained, should exist on contacts)Both tables have email address as Primary fieldContacts has a Verification field which I want to show on the Students table for each studentI just can't figure out how to link the two tables! I did the straightforward link and nothing appears to happenThanks in advanceMike
Hi everyone! I was wondering if it's possible to recover lost data after importing bases. When I copied and imported a whole table to a new blank one, some of the data was imported, but some other was lost and I have blank fields now. Namely; the attachments (pdfs). Does anyone know if/how I can recover those at all? Thanks in advance!
Hi, We have different bases in a single workspace that correspond to specific projects. One tab in each base is the project schedule. We would like to link all of these up in a separate ‘master-schedule’ base that can house a Gantt chart to keep track of our project pipeline. We would rather not have all the projects (dozens of tabs) in a single base. Is this possible with Airtable?
Hi everyone, I build an internal tool for a company where they organise their Projects, Invoices, Employees etc. As the Data is accumulating, we would like to get a better overview,, especially in the sense of knowing how the numbers look on a monthly basis. However this seems to be trickier than expected. For example Invoices: I want a summary for each month. Sum ingoing, sum outgoing, balance.Or I have the hours worked by each employee. I'd like a table where I have those numbers for every employeee on a monthly basis. What would be a good way to collect all sorts of data based on predefined (month, year etc) timeframes? I dont want to work with a custom view for each month. I tried displaying the dates as "March 2024, April 2024" but i cannot group by that. I thought about creating a "timeframe" table where every record is one month for example, but then I'd have to link every record (from different tables) that falls into that timeframe. So most c
Hey,My main table has a few dozen thousands records. In order to complete the process, I also need data from around 10 different tables, each of them also has a few thousands records. If I want to aggregate data from all of them in the main table, I'm reaching the records limit. My thing is - it's kinda waste of my database space to keep the details from all the tables, if I just need it to lookup one field and it's not being used for anything else. What would you recommend, what's the best practice? Hardcoding with automation and deleting is definitely not one of them.A great solution would be, if it was possible to sync many tables into one, (but not in the way it has been released recently), for example:if one of the fields in DB 1 is license plate, I would sync just lookup fields from another base with all the plates, directly to DB1 without having to create linked records and another table.not sure if I was clear enough, what are your thoughts?
Hi there. For a while I have been trying to figure out the following. Maybe you can help. For our participants we measure there progress over time. We do this by filling in a form about every 2 months. We have one base with all the participants (personal data).Since one participant can follow multiple trajectories, we have one base with all the trajectories linked to the participants. The results of the form also appear in a seperate base. For everytime the form is filled in, a new row is created (which is linked to the right trajectory) My question is the following:Example:On 1-1-2023 John scores 6/10 on our communication scale. On 1-3-2023 John scores 7/10 on our communication scale. On 1-5-2023 John scores 8/10 on our communication scale. On 1-7-2023 John scores 7/10 on our communication scale. On 1-9-2023 John scores 9/10 on our communication scale. On 1-1-2023 Cristia scores 4/10 on our communicat
I am attempting to build a Crypto Liquid Pool tracker and trying to figure out my base design.I'm not sure if anyone on Airtable has done anything like it. If so, I would love to hear your opinions and what your base/ schema looks like. For those unfamiliar, it would be something similar to this.In adition to that, I would need, on occasion perform some of these tasks: and provide "Position value", "Fee Value", "Token Price" for each asset, "Transaction Fee", and status if Out of Range or In Range

Hi folks, Happy Friday. I am searching for some help/guidance on the airtable platform. I think/hope my client's needs are quite straight forward and have outlined them below 1) A full league table, with the following fields: Name, Golf Club, Handicap, Number of 2's this season.2) Needs to be easy to update at any time and sort to show who is in the lead etc3) The ability to create a league within a league to play directly against your friends. So for example the overall league may have 1000 players, and there may be 100 additional private leagues with between 2 and 10 people in each. So players would always take part in the overall league but would also potentially play in another league or leagues against a select group of friends4) This will be displayed on a website, and ideally should have the branding on it and have a golf/sports/competition based theme to make it fit in with the website5) Ideally the "join now" form on the website will feed the data directly into the o
I'm building a process for Employee Onboarding. Here's what I'm dreaming of (and have started building):1) Recruiter gets the signed offer letter and needs to do some things (their name, phone number, role, who they report to). They enter this in a form.2) That form puts those details into the base and kicks off some next steps. -I'd like the new hire to get a form to enter some things like their birthdate, bio, etc. Kind of some "get to know you" things. These don't go any futher, just get put in the database so People Ops can do team building things with it.-The manager gets an alert and fills in new information (what equipment will they need? gets them log-ins to team-specific software)-At the same time, HR works on things like getting them enrolled in benefits and payroll. So, some things can be happening in parallel. Some need to follow a certain order. I could do a List (and people check off items as they do them, so we can see what's left to happen) or I like the idea
Hello I have these four pieces of data: Project Name {Text Field, Primary Field} Project Start {Date} Project End {Date} Project Team (multiple people) {???} *can be separate table I want to be able to create these views: a gantt view for my projects This will show the project name and the start and end dates a gantt view for each individual team member This will show each project they are working on My team will consist of four individuals that will be working each project. Some projects will have all 4, others will only have a couple. I need to be able to see how many projects each person is working on and how long they will be busy with projects. For the Project Team data I’ve tried linked records, collaborators, and mult-selects but they aren’t being treated as individuals, they are being treated as a group in all the versions of the gantt I’ve tried.
I have a question about how to handle member data in a specific set of circumstances.I have a membership base. One table has the members' names and organizations they belong to, if any, in it. People join this organization. Sometimes they join as single people and sometimes they join as a couple. So far I have able to easily handle the single/couple issue, except for when one of them becomes a board member/officer. Now I have to find a way bifurcate them. Do I put them in individually? If so, how do I handle when they join or renew as a couple? Or even better, leave a legacy? Hmmm. Is a puzzlement. And how do I handle when one of them dies?Any thought or help will be truly appreciated.Best, Scott
I would like to hide the primary field in a gallery because I want to use a long field for the title. I understand primary keys and keeping the title short. No problem. But, I don’t want to publish the primary key but a long field. I attached an example pic of what I am talking about but not sure anyone can see it, since all I see is a link.
Dear Airtable Community,I need your help with the following issues. In the course of project management, the employees have to submit a monthly performance report (%) for all current projects to our controlling department.Example:Project XYPerformance report Nov. 2023: 75 %Performance report Dec. 2023: 85 %etc.It would be great if the value of the previous months remains and is not overwritten, but I don't want to create a new column for the upcoming percentage entry every month.I would be happy if someone could suggest a solution to this.Best regards & thank you
When I use Aritable I either get the solution straight away or spend days knocking my head against the wall just to find out I’m overcomplicating things. I’m currently in the latter situation, so please bear with me  I’m designing a Crypto Portfolio Tracker on Airtable. I have 2 tables: COINS TRANSACTIONS I plan to add every transaction I make (buy or sell) to the TRANSACTIONS table. If amount is positive it’s a BUY, if it’s negative it’s a SELL. So far, so good. Now I’m trying to create a PORTFOLIO table summarising/aggregating of all my transactions to reflect my current portfolio. This PORTFOLIO table should aggregate (sum or average) all records with the same {Ticker} to give me information about how much of each coin I have. So a PORTFOLIO table would look like: Ticker | Total Amount | Cost Basis | Current Price | P/L Where: Ticker - {Ticker} from the Transactions table. The transactions table will have multiple entries with the same ticker, but I’d like to show
I have a table for meetings that is linked to a Personnel table and an attendance confirmation table that is also linked to the Personnel table. When a meeting is submitted, an email is sent to each linked personnel record with a form. The form is prefilled with the meeting ID and the Personnel's name. When they submit, it shows that they attended the meeting.I'm trying to find a way - within the meeting table - to show what personnel (linked in the meeting table) have not completed an attendance form using a lookup into the attendance table to find the personnel name. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!
