Base Design

Hello guys!I’m creating a platform for freelance recruiters from all over the world. To help with registration, I created a form and I’m quite happy with it. Also, I would like to have all the registered users in one place in Airtable. I now need this form to be available in different languages: French, German, English, Italian, and so on. My concern is mainly with dropdown fields. How would you proceed? 

I have a base that tracks when a staff member turns in a survey for a free sample product they were given. They should not get new samples without turning in the original surveys. Tables include:StaffSamplesSurveysThis might seem silly, but I'm struggling to automate when a user completes a survey how to track that they are again eligible for new samples. For what it's worth, A staff member may have several samples in their queue, which is OK, but we'd like to reconcile at least once a month. Open to approaching this in new ways. 

I am trying to create a reasonably simple base that stores HR statistics such as monthly, quarterly, and yearly numbers and trends.    For example, I would like to store the number of employees by location, office, DOL status, etc., and then formulate the change in numbers each month, quarter, and year.   What is the best way to set this up?  I tried a base where I added two years of data in one table, but I couldn't manipulate the data to get the statistics I wanted.   Any suggestions are appreciated!  I looked through Airtable's templates but couldn't find what I wanted.

Hello, we are new to AirTable and currently using it for our CRM. This question is to see if we could ALSO use it for individual case management for our sober living home. Obviously, this would include the ability to take notes, classify information, restrict users, transfer of data to courts, etc. Does anyone out in AirTable land use AirTable in this capacity?? I run a volunteer program where we reward our volunteers with comp tickets to our events.   We currently use a points based tracking system where they get 10 points for every hour volunteered.   I was wondering if there was a way to create something in Airtable that would help us keep track of how many points our volunteers have earned  and redeemed.    So whatever would be created I would need a way to add points and subtract points with ease. We allow our volunteers to bank their points to redeem and "upgrade" their tickets to better seats on the following scale:Tier 3- 40 PointsTier 2- 80 PointsTier 1- 120 PointsPremium- 160 PointsIt would be a bonus if the same base would allow them to request their redemption. 

Hello,is there a possibility to enter numbers according to the german format,so100,22 EUR instead of 100.22 EURI can't find a solution for this, neither in the currency nor around number format.And if I choose text, I can't add up the amounts anymore.Thanks for your ideas!Kevin

I'm trying to determine if its possible to have a "link to another record field" show you filtered options.  Right now when I select "Test Building" I see all the records (Buildings), within the "Buildings" table which is GREAT!  However, when I click the "link to another record field" labeled Suites, it shows me ALL the records within the "Suites" table.  Is there a way to be able to show me only the records/"suites" that are assigned to whichever building I select? To Summarize, all my buildings are in the building table.  All my suites are in the suites table. I'd like to be able to see filtered options based on which building I select, as opposed to ALL the suites in the table.  Is this possible?  Thanks!

Hello,Looking for advice on the best way to structure products/ subtasks.  Basically we have a base with a lot of products that need to be created for clients.  Each product has an overall due date, someone assigned to work on it, start date, priority, etc.Sometimes these products are fairly simple meaning only one person will need to work on it; there are no subtasks, etc.  Other times, the product is quite complex and needs to be broken down into subtasks with their own due dates, assigned workers, etc.I'm trying to figure out the best way to structure this.  Right now, all the info associated with the product (pricing, quantity, date start, due date, priority, assignee, etc) is in the same table, but this quickly gets confusing if a product has subtasks.  What are my options here?  Can I create an automation so that when a product is created, it also creates a linked task on a separate "task" table?  And then if there are su

I want to use airtable to scan student IDs as they enter the building. The problem is that once somebody scans their ID it won't automatically move down to the next cell for the next person to scan their ID. I don't want to have to stand there and press enter each time somebody scans their ID for it to move down to the next row. Is there a way to fix this?

When there is a link field that links to records within the same table, is there a way to show the records that are linked FROM (as well as linked TO)? For example, see screenshot below, where there is a list of companies and a link field called "Key Customers" which references the list. I have dummied up the "Key Customer Of" field by creating a new link field - but I actually want this field to generate automatically based on the "Key Customers" field. In other words, instead of only showing the target records, can I also show the source records?I think the answer is no because Airtable is a relational database and not a graph database. I know also that the documentation states that best practice would be to keep the customers in a separate table, but in this case that would require double-entry of many companies, which I very much want to avoid. If anyone has figured out a clever workaround I'd love to know!

I am trying to automate a subcription/membership database. I have a users table, and an income table. I want to keep track of expiry dates and what I've been trying to achieve is linking all transactions in Income table with a specific email address to a user record with same email in Users tables automatically. Logic:Two transactions in Income table1. John Doe - 2 year membership purchased - Expiry (20/1/20232. John Doe - 3 Year membership purchased - Expiry (20/1/2026)The users record in Users table will display Expiry (20/1/2026) so that I can trigger an action (renewal email for example) for if they want to renew their membership.Must I achieve this programmatically or is this possible within airtables columns? Feeling as if the learning curve here is quite high. Any help would be appreciated!!

Hey guys,I'm trying to set up an easy way to track budgets within my club. There are multiple subteams in the club with each their own budget, and I want them to be able to submit orders to me so that I can place them and then have a live update on a total of how much each team has spent. I want it set up where if I select a checkbox, that means that order price gets added to the total spent in another tab.I am running into the issue where if any of the checkboxes are selected then all the payment totals get summed at once rather than just the singular order I checked. Also, if I ever uncheck a box, I want that to also be reflected. I'll leave a video below with some of my issue to clear it up.

I have set up the Linked field which is linked to another table but it's not showing 1000 field values from 15000 rows.Do I need to add these values manually or is there any other way to do this without breaking the link? 

Hi there,I am using Airtable to design a system to manage form responses, hooked up to my form in JotForm. When a form submission comes in, I want to check whether the individual is a member of my organisation. I am currently doing this by exporting a csv from my membership database which is currently in Power Apps and uploading it to a table in the same base as my form response data. The Power Apps system is an old system that needs updating, however this is beyond my control right now. I then run an automation matching these form entries with the membership data, importing their membership number into the form response table in the base if they match and flagging that they are not a member with a tick box if no match is found. The membership data is updated weekly, and so I am dragging and dropping the latest csv version of the membership data into Airtable every week. Hi there,I have a table which has all of the raw data from form submissions. I want to run some automations to change the format of email addresses, home addresses etc. However, I don't want to replace the raw data with the cleaned version, I want to have a table of the raw data and a table for the cleaned data. I want to clean the data as the forms are submitted. Is there a way to sync the data such that any new form submissions in Table A (raw) get put into Table B (cleaned), but which would allow me to then run automations and edits on the data in Table B without editing any data in Table A? Thanks!

I need to know if is somehow possible not to include a specific field in the revision history. I have a field which include tecnical data and it changes often, and this really distract when you try search something in the history…

Hello!I'm creating a base that will capture all of my sales. The base consists of a customer table, products table, sales table, and I'd like a goals table. Ideally, the goals table would be have a column for the month/year, my goal amount of sales for that month, the actual sales made, and then a column that tells me how far from (under or over) the goal I am for that month. Similarly, I'd like to do the same for yearly goals, where it can show me the yearly goal total (based on the sum of each month in that year I'd set), what my actual sales for the year are, and how far from my goal (over or under) I am. My sales table already captures mm/yyyy and individually the month & year for the date of the sale so I'm pretty positive I can link a sale to the monthly goal record based on that month/year field with an automation.I'm just hitting roadblocks with how I show both monthly and yearly in the same table. I'm fairly new to Airtable but very familiar with data structures from a development perspective. I have a Pro plan and I'm building a community directory on a website. It will have business listings and categories, member data and profiles, a calendar of events and some maps to be displayed as they relate to groups of community members. I'm looking for advice on the best way to structure the bases for this data from an Airtable pricing and access perspective.I know I can have one base and build multiple tables within that base to support a website. Or I can also build multiple bases and have the data in separate bases. In the future I might want to use segments of the data and share them among other community websites.Is there a preferred way or optimal way of mapping this data? Or is it interchangeable and both ways work well in the Airtable environment? I believe pricing is irrelevant since there are unlimited bases. Record counts in the bases may be a factor b

I want to use a few different forms for my staff to submit info.  1 for contact info, 1 for schedules, 1 for rsvp to event etc.  Is there a way to auto merge the info or link their name so all their info is tied together?  I am struggling to understand the best way to set it up.  

Can anyone recommend a way to close or lock a record with linked Line Items when needed? We have a table to create Purchase Orders and within the record, Line Items can be created.  These Line Items contain the actual purchase details such as qty/hours, unit pricing, total pricing, and text details.  We submit the PO to the vendor and when the subsequent vendor invoice is received, I reconcile the invoice details against the PO details and mark it as "Reconciled".  My intention is, that when the main Purchase Order is marked as "Reconciled", no one else with access to this table can go in to the Purchase Order and add any additional line items to add more products/services/pricing to the PO.Any suggestions? 

Our small nonprofit has been using the Airtable on the Pro plan for a little less than a year, and we've gotten to the point that we need to re-map, re-design our workspace to work optimally between teams. We cannot afford to move to an Enterprise plan so I am trying to figure out our next steps.I understand that many organizations use consultants to design their workspaces. I would love to understand what they do (and don't do), ranges of cost (is it cheaper than paying for Enterprise?!), recommended vendors, etc.

I just wanted to ask from individual experiences, which has been the best to-do list template that you have used within Airtable. I am looking for something relatively simple but powerful that would let me quickly add tasks, add a category or tag, assign people, priority levels, dates, notes and attachments. Did you guys create your to-do lists from scratch or have you found a really good template that you'd recommend? Have you ever tried to manage any automation features within this to-do lists?Thanks in advance 🙂 

Hello.  I'm new to Airtable, but have some experience in other db applications. I am creating an app to track trading.  I have a trade table where details about each trade are stored.  It also stores the result of the trade in a field called TradeResult.  I made a grid view where I summed TradeResult grouped on TradeDate so I know the total results for each day. What's the best way to display that in calendar view?  I'd like to be able to look at the calendar and see how each day went. And not to be greedy, but if I could display the weeks total result on Saturday, that would be perfect.Any help is appreciated.

I'm curious how others address this challenge. In our project management base we have a combination of tasks and meetings. Tasks do not really need times, only start and/or due dates. Meetings, on the other hand, need both dates and times. Our current solution is to use multiple date fields. Start and end date fields for tasks, and start and end date/time fields for meetings - essentially four fields.Anyone do something different or better, or more efficient?
