Is there a way to create a time slot, similar to when you add a calendar a pop up appears and you can choose a date. I've aded a screenshot of what I've created, which is a single select option, But would like it to be more flexible. So, if you choose 9am it will autofill a a two hour duration, 9-11 or if you chose 8am it will autofill 8-10 am.Thanks. le.
I am attempting to make a database for my social media. I am having trouble with the best way to organize it. I struggle with how I can put things in DATE order, We typically do Month and Week # so we don't have to change the date each year, but then it doesn't go in month order.I would like one grid with all our marketing ads, then some sort of way to separate for each type by date (either as a gallery or grid). My questions are- What is the best way to sort by date? If I have 1 row listing multiple dates, can I have another grid or form listing each week/date individually? For the image listed, I would like some sort of sorting to separate by date:Example:First week of the month SpecialJune Special
Hi there! I have a bit of a math problem I'm looking to solve:I manage a Department with about 85 Software Designers, which are assembled into 15 Squads, which support 3 different categories of software products. And about 1/3 of the work they do is product-agnostic (like onboarding, up-skilling, tooling maintenance, etc). I'm building of Airtable Interfaces so that Designers, Leads, Managers, and our VP have access to the project information that matters to them. I'm just a little stuck on how best to architect these Tables.Should house alllllll the Projects/Tasks (Epics/Stories) from all 85 Designer practitioners in ONE Table, and then group and parce with other Tables and/or Tags?OR should I create 3 Tables for each of the slightly different product categories (since that kind of makes sense ) and just accept that Practitioners will need to toggle around a bit in the Team's Interface? Also, would separating my Department's project work into 3 Tables mess me up when I'm putting t
An existing base tracks students self-enrolling in classes by submitting Airtable forms.Tables:Students (linked to Classes)Classes (linked to Signups)SignupsThe Signups table contains forms to sign up for various classes. There are multiple forms because some require different information than others. What's really messy is that Students has one linked record to Classes for each type of class! When a form submission is received in Signups, an automation is triggered based on the kind of record received. If the class type is "Class A," automation A runs. If the class type is "Class B," automation B runs. The automations update the "Class x" linked record fields in Students. This gets more and more unwieldy since Students has multiple linked records to Classes. The person who created it is no longer with the company, but I was told the Signups table is a helper table. I'm beginning to think it should be redesigned. Would this work better with a junction table between Students and
I am wondering if anyone is able to assist with a couple of questions. 1. When adding an attachment into the 'attachment' field I am simply adding from files and attaching a word document. I am then having issues once I send the email with the attachment not coming through in the correct format. It seems to only be coming through in email as a small photo that is quite blurry. I am wondering if there is any work around to this and how I can have an email sent with the correct attachments - preferrably the word document.Above is my current airtable. Each date has 3 specific shifts 0100/0800/1630. I am wondering what I need to do in order to have 3 emails go out each day with the attachment (from question 1) as well as the checkmarks associated to who is involved. I am able to accomplish this by simply highlighting all the areas on the data sheet and right clicking send email. However I am looking to have this function automated and se
On Table A I have a linked record field that allows multiples. It pulls records from Table B. These records on Table B include a Date field. Records on Table B are not necessarily entered in chronological order. For example:Table B Record 1 - 1/1/2023Table B Record 2 - 3/1/2023Table B Record 3 - 2/1/2023On Table A, I'm trying to pull the most recent record linked using a Lookup field with the "limit the number of items shown" option turned on and set to "last 1" but I believe this is giving me the date of the linked record that was most recently created rather than using the date field of the record to give me the most recent. I believe I could play around with an automation that could accomplish this for me but before diving into that, is there a more simple way to achieve this?
Hello,I have records of 4 thousand rows in Airtable, with around 100 views and about 50 columns. Two of them have attachments fields where we store pictures.Every month, we need to create a new table organized by month, and we want to retain the previous month's views and settings, but the data itself is not required. Currently, I use the duplicate table feature without including records, but it has become quite problematic and slow. I am wondering if the Airtable team is working on improving their servers to address these issues.I need some assistance. Is there any other method or workaround to synchronize all the views and create a new table for this month without including previous records?Thank you.
Hallo community,I have two tables: "Bestellungen", "Bestellung Positionen".Table "Bestellungen" has 3 Lookup fields "Artikelnummern", "Anzahl", "Einzelpreis". So the values will be not correct sorted like in a table "Bestellung Position".I think, it is a big bug in Airtable.P. S. If it is not possible to sort automatically in "Bestellungen" table, how should I sort it in relative table "Bestellung Positionen", which filter should I use. I know how to sort Table "Bestellung Positionen" by a field with a type "Created time", then the result with be ok, but I still need an option to order it how I want... And table "Bestellungen" should automatically bring me the same order. Thanks in advance.
Hello,We are currently at 38,500 records. I'm curious how others are handling their data once they hit 50,000.Do you duplicate the base, delete all records and continue on (thus leaving all your fields, automations intact)?Looking for suggestions. Thanks!
Hi, I am trying to design two bases on Airtable for my team:Base 1: Instruction ManualInformation: This base should consists of all tasks our team need to do throughout the year, which instruction and attachment.Base 2: To-do tasksInformation: The tasks of this base should be synced from Base 1. In this base, each task will be assigned a collaborator, start and end date, task status, and team's comment. My current questions/roadblocks:1. In my Base 1, ideally, there should be two tables of tasks - "standard" and "intensive". But I still want both tables to be synced directly into one table in my Base 2. 2. In my Base 2, ideally, when I run a script of auto-updating the start and end date of each task, it can create dates of the following year, i.e., my team is currently monitoring the "to-do" and "in-progress" tasks (synced from Base 1) of 2023, but since all our tasks (both standard and intensive) are repetitive throughout the year, we would like to plan ahead say towar
Hello I'm new to airtable, and I recently had a website built using Airtable as a database for a car listing widget. We have a column in our airtable where we input a short and long description for each vehicle we list. Below is a screen shot of what the data looks like once we past it into the cell of the airtable. It looks like one big run-on sentence. Is there any way to format this data to display nicer? Or at least have a line break so that each sentence can be displayed on its own line so its broken up some and easier to read? Thanks!I would prefer it read like the following if possible.... So it's obviously quite a shock getting the email yesterday, the 23rd of August with the massive downgrades to the Pro Plan (Team Plan). However, this post is not to nag on the obvious downgrades which are going to affect how some current systems work. How I see it is some clients will have no choice but to upgrade, at a high expense, or stay on the Team Plan and try and work with the downgrades. My first question that I want to have more clarification on what's offered on the new Business Plan that was not available on the Pro Plan. The two main points that really stand out to me are as follows:Two Way Sync 🆕Unlimited Workspaces 🆕Are there any other exciting features I can show my clients that was not available until the new Business Plan features come into affect? Question 2: Unlimited WorkspacesPrior to this, my understanding on the Pro Plan was that each workspace was billed as an individual plan. So if I had two workspaces that needed the Pro P
I am working on a base with one table that has a record of all my fabric purchases, their respective lengths and widths. I want to create a my second table as a list of patterns and the length and width requirements for the fabric necessary to complete the pattern and have it automatically pull what fabrics I have that are eligible for the project based on the length and width criteria of the pattern. Is this possible?
I think it's clear that the vast majority of the Airtable Community has rejected the new dashboard/home screen design. For every 1 person complaining here (and there are many across the threads), there are many more unhappy people that are not posting (like my 7 staff members). It's clear the Product Team & decision-makers have no interest in accommodating or reversing this update after removing the option to roll back to the previous version, regardless of the negative feedback already received then. Yet Airtable Management needs to address us. So if it isn't regarding a solution to our concerns then I would like to ask;why did you 'fix' something that to so many of us wasn't broken?what methodology or use cases determined dashboard navigation & layout? what artistic school/philosophy/strategy determined the new colors/designs? why was the initial roll-out done without warning & why now are you forcing everyone to use the new dashboard instead of a
Hello Airtable Community,I hope this message finds you well. I'm reaching out to inquire about a potential workflow that I'm interested in implementing within the Airtable database. My objective is to create a user-friendly process that involves the following steps:Pop-up Dropdown Menu: Upon clicking a designated button, I'd like to trigger a pop-up dropdown menu.Link to "Startups" Tab: This dropdown menu should be intricately linked to a specific tab within our database, specifically labeled "startups."Automated Email Template: Upon selecting an option from the dropdown menu, I aim to have an email template automatically populated with the relevant information.Functionality Similar to Dropdown Lists in Forms: I'm essentially looking to replicate the convenient functionality of the dropdown list selection process in Airtable's forms.Note:I've been exploring alternative approaches beyond using a field to establish a link to another record. My goal is to identify if there's a formula or a
hello everyone, I have a question that i can’t change the order of my wokspace. It’s just can arrange depend on my “Created date”? btw i use the app not the web airtable. if someone can help , I’ll Appreciate.
Hi! I am building a project management tool, and I have difficulty understanding how I can use my Project and Tasks table combined in a way I can get a gantt view of each project, with the tasks and subtasks nested. When I create a gantt view in the projects table, it shows the projects, not the tasks and subtasks. In my mind, it would be something like opening a task table from each project line, but the system don't work like this. Thanks for anyone that can help.
Hi, I need an attendance tracker for a nonprofit organization that organizes different activities throughout the year. I first tried doing a form that our coordinators of each activity would use to report the activity, time, description/impact, and attendance. The attendance is linked to a table that compiles the beneficiaries of the different activities that are run by the Non-profit. We already have some beneficiaries or previous participants in this table and so some of the attendees are already in our records, but when we have new attendees, I would like to be able to generate a new record from a form. I am able to add a new record in the grid view, but not in the Form. I have already tried doing an interface and it still won't give me the option to add new records in both form or interface. I do have a plus plan (not the free version). Our objective is to be able to have a beneficiary registry or a complete list of beneficiaries to report to our donors every year. We
Hello,I am building a base for a restaurant's catering service. Right now, I have a table with the catering menu with items and prices per item. I have another table for the catering orders. I created a field that links to the catering menu to select the person's order. The issue I encountered was that I cannot select the same record more than once. So if an order includes 2 of more of the same item, I can only mark it once.I know linking to the same record multiple times is not possible. So I am trying to find alternative solutions. Thanks.
My goal is to calculate the percent of hours per week spent on a type of task. I have managed to calculate the sum of hours spent on each type of task for all entries regardless of the week number, but I can't figure out how to calculate the sum per week.In the table where I calculate the sum of hours, I have three fields: Task, Time (from my Time Track Entries table), and Sum. The Time Track Entries table contains the week number for each timed entry.Any suggestions for how to calculate the sum per week? Thanks,Lene
Hi! Is there any way to enter a start and end date with "no class dates" where it would remove the dates from the calendar view? I would also want the class to reoccur every Monday (sort of like google where you can say you want it to repeat every Mon). For example: I have a class that runs from Monday Sept 11 until December. It reoccurs every Monday except for on 10/9 and 11/6. On the calendar view, I want it to list Chemistry class every Monday from 3:30-4:30pm and want it to remove these two dates from a class date. Thanks!
Alright, let me see if I can spell this out correctly.I have two databases, one of faculty and one of courses.Faculty can be assigned to any and all courses. Courses have different contracts depending on how they're paid -- FT, Adjunct, and NCI, which are three fields in the courses record, populated with the payment amount as appropriate.Let's say instructor A is linked to three different courses, one of each of the above.Currently, my linked column for Faculty A will show all three courses, then there's a Lookup referencing Adjunct, which shows me the correct amount -- but I don't know which of the three courses under the linked column that payment amount belongs to.Is there a way to filter the linked column to only display on the faculty record if the adjunct field is populated? My current work around is to duplicate the table, delete anything where adjunct is empty, and create another link, but that's clumsy when I add more courses or assign more courses at the top level.I hope tha
Here's the situation. I need a base with 4 tables. Each table has inventory for 4 different types of products. Data for each record includes descriptors including single and multi-selects, text and most importantly the # available. The inventory manager would add this data. So far, pretty easy. Next, want to create a form so requestors can order from this inventory. Requestors would need to see the inventory available by type. As requestors fill out the form to place their order, we need to see the inventory amount change in real-time such that if user #one depletes the stock, user #2 will see a notice similar to "currently out of stock, will be ordered." It would be nice if the inventory manager would be notified that a product would need to be ordered. There would also be the need on the form to order a product that is currently not in inventory. Not sure if the existing data sets would be used or just an open text box.Can Airtable do this?
ERROR : {"error": {"type": "INVALID_REQUEST_MISSING_FIELDS","message": "Could not find field \\"fields\\" in the request body"},I am attempting to insert data into a simple table : 4 cols called A,B,C,D datatype of cols is the same single string.I compose my JSON body raw as follows : When I execute this via Postman I get the following error : If I execute the CURL command the insert works fine. This is the CURL statement : curl -X POST https://api.airtable.com/v0/apppXXXXXXXXl5tP/nXXXable -H "Authorization: Bearer patBTXXXXXXe71" -H "Content-Type: application/json" --data '{"fields": {"A": "AA","B": "AA","C": "AA","D": "AA"}}'I have been working on this thing for 5hrs solid and cannot figure out where the issue is in regard to the JSON request body format. I am new to Airtable. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am at a dead end.BestPerry
I am working on an AirTable base for my warehouse that receives Vehicle Tires. Our Receiving staff runs AirTable on their iOS devices; Currently, they scan the Barcode of the Tires and it automatically goes to the respective article/item on the AirTable Base and then they add the 'Tires Received amount' to the existing Inventory. i.e. If the Existing Inventory was 1000 and a shipment of 50 Tires were received, they change the Inventory number 1000 to 1050 manually. I would like to observe the possibilities of creating a column where the user can input a number every time a consignment of tires are received and that number automatically gets added to the existing Inventory and gets updated on its own.Table in the Base is as follows:-Column A has the Tired Brand and the Model/Size;-Columns B has the Current Stock (Inventory);-Column C has the Supplier name;-Column D has the unique barcode number of each Tire type. Thanks for your time.
